Hidden gem!! We have been dining out at the Captain Cook for about 10 years and I have been meaning to write a review forever and here it is! My kids and I say all the time “yeah, but these chips aren’t as good as the ones at The Captain Cook!” when we are eating out somewhere. The chips at the Captain Cook are seriously the best! Great quality food and at a good price. I’m not sure what the chefs name is; he has been there for years, and he is fantastic. Awesome steaks and a varied menu. This looks like a little ol’ pub near a shopping centre but to us, it’s a hidden gem!! Bring back the kids eat free nights! Check it out. Or don’t. What do you have to lose?? 😀

Had a wonderful experience here with my little boy. The food was amazing and so was the customer service. There was a mistake on the kids meal where they brought out a fish and chips instead of a pizza. Staff were very appolgetic and let us keep the fish while they cooked the pizza. I was offered a refund for the mistake but said "no thank you" i was very muchly happy to pay for the meals. Great food and wonderful staff, they even brought out an extra drink for my boy free of charge. Thanks guys :)

It is my birthday today and I visited the Tavern and had a beautiful lunch. It was rather sad because I was alone. I have family nearby but after taking most of my money they decided that I was no longer considered to be a part of the family. I am the youngest of 8 and most of my sisters except for 2 have died and so have my 2 brothers. My parents passed away when I was young I am 69 years old.

Came in for Seniors Lunch and Manager Bran went out of his way to find gluten free options and found that although not marked, the salt and pepper calamari was our choice and it was a generous size and was excellent. Service excellent, Max on the drinks was great and all staff friendly. Highly recommend

We had a fantastic meal tonight! The steak was tender & cooked to perfection. I especially loved the fresh vegetables, not frozen like other places. Friendly wait staff (Haylee). Every time we go to CCT we are greeted by the fabulous Ros who can't do enough for you.

This place really surprised me about how good it is! Went for dinner and the menu was good variety, price and there is also a seniors menu which I thought was amazing as not alot of places cater for seniors. Had the best bar service as well. The lady that went above and beyond to help me with my baby's water I think her name was tiffany! She was amazing and made good drinks too ! Will deffs be back to this tavern ! Thanks heaps for the best service and yummy food. My Baby tried his first lemon wedge here so will now be a memory for us all :)

How convenient a nice cold beer after shopping awesome I say. Great food pretty good menu not to expensive either. They've got pokies till 4.am nice dining area with lots of tables a kiddies play area a large bar where you can place a bet.. Lots of T.V screens with foxtell a quaint lil smokers area. Yes I've eaten there and I'll do so again the bar staff are also a great bunch of friendly people I'd recommend Captain Cook Tavern..

Were here for a birthday/graduation dinner for my partner's cousin this past Saturday and the service was impeccable and hearty, especially from our main waitress Bec (Beck?). She really made our night and would be the reason I would want to come back to dine (aside from the delicious chips and Parmy 😩). Thank you to the rest of the staff and the chefs, feeding a huge amount of people (about 30) is not easy at all, but we didnt have to wait too long for our meals and again, all the staff were helpful, friendly and seemed to take their work seriously. I look forward to dining with you guys again! Stay safe and well!

Normally Monday nights are the best time to go, the food is always cooked well unfortunately can't say the same about Thursday night. We realise they were busy so that's probably why. We'd like to thank Laura who is always professional & very helpful who still manages to make the experience worth it even when the meals aren't up to standard. I have been coming here often and enjoyed my meals... but tonight when my partner and I went there was an issue with the food. 7 out of 10 tables sent their food back including us. One table of 3 all left their meals. We sent The pea and ham soup back as it tasted like canned chicken soup. We will not be back..

Great size meals, very reasonably priced especially the deals like the $13 Pot & Parmy and the nights the kids eat free. Staff are very friendly and Peninsula Power Football Club have meat tray raffles every Friday afternoon and Saturday lunch time. Well worth taking the family down for a meal.

Food was really good, I went there to meet captain Cook but he wasn't there instead I hung out with a bunch of plebs and retired old diggers. I'm never using my kitchen again cause i'm eating at captain Cook's every day! Good little tavern, very relaxed and friendly. Redcliffe was the first Queensland settlement so the Captain should be there to celebrate and spread the knowledge, hope to see him and you there soon for muscats at dawn!
