Went here a few years ago and i hated it, The steaks were welldone and not juicy at all. The ribs also stuck to the bone instead of sliding off. I went again recently after a good friend of mine recommended it. I was reluctant and first but i decided to give it a second chance. This time it was amazing. The ribs were falling off the bone and the steak was medium rare and juicy. The only thing bad about this place is that its put on the plate with no care. Kind of just put on there randomly, The food is great though.

The staff were very friendly and eager to help with all our needs. The food was delicious and the serving sizes sufficient. My Thai stir fry beef and crispy noodles, although very tasty, had a bed of lettuce that I thought was a bit too much.

Great local to come and have a feed. Food is really nice but leans more towards a pub feed so don't come here expecting fine dining. We love to enjoy a beer as the kids play on the playground. Really Handy :)

Great for the family! Fully fenced playground and great meals. Restaurant would benefit some renovations but if you're not looking for somewhere with a vibe or atmosphere it's a great local option 👍

Sunday lunch today was amazing. They have certainly improved since last visit and left today full to the brim. It does get busy but hey what pub on a sunday doesn't? The kingfish over green curry and rice was bloody tops. Very impressed and will be back.

Great service - Mauro is the guy that looked after me, very cool and tuned in. I wanted a quick no fuss meal and got it. Non powdery potatoes, not over cooked broccoli and beef. Red Vino was nice as well, shame I had to go back to work.

Good pub fare. Sometimes hit and miss. Family crowd can mean a rowdy experience with little kids running around... I don't mind that. I wish they had some craft beers on tap. Good for an easy, fun, family dinner.

Very warm & friendly welcome to Centenary Tavern last night. Getting greeted at the restaurant door was lovely. We had a wonderful dinner, meals were fantastically priced and they have some great specials. Gaming room updated with new machines and decor. On the other hand gaming room toilets are atrocious and need money spent on them.

My first visit. Not overly impressed. Our booked table had been taken by someone else, beer selection rather poor considering the choice available these days, and a fairly unimpressive menu. The not too distant Hotel Monier is a much better venue.

I have been visiting Sumner Park as part of a business improvement course over the last ten weeks.. The Centenary Tavern, over this time, has become my local hotel, so I have become familiar with most of the staff at this establishment. I recommend the Centenary as a great place to visit for individuals and corporates. The bar and wait staff are friendly and attentive and go above and beyond to will do everything to make your visit enjoyable. 5 stars for Kasey, Nicola and Sam .

Hayley at the bistro at Centenary Tavern was great to deal with and so efficient and flexible when we needed to organise a Christmas lunch for 40 people at very short notice. All of our requests were accommodated; the service was great and the food was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised at the price too!

Our first experience was great. Staff were welcoming and appeared happy and helpful. $1 kids meals on Sundays, a great playground outside and a kids room inside. Then the food was brought out quickly and it was terrific. Ample sized servings, fresh tasting and full of flavour. With the dollar meals for the kids, we paid $57 for 5 of us to eat and we were all pushing to fit our meals in so we didn't waste them!! We will be back.

We recently had the pleasure of having a family dinner at Centenary Tavern Bistro and were very impressed with the quality of food and their team members. Having visited there a few times now, this venue has become our new location to eat out, and there are two main reasons for this: 1. The menu is well planned, delicious and good value 2. The friendliness and attentiveness of their staff. And speaking of their staff, there is one young lady who always looks after us, and really makes our visits special. This young lady's name is Nicola, and we are so pleased that the Centenary Tavern found her !!! Please keep her 😎😎😎 !!! So, whenever you visit the Bistro, keep your eye out for her. Pleasantly surprised by the food since we didn't have a good experience 6 months ago. Prices were decent and playground has proper fencing and shade. Only downside was we both had to go to toilet and told the staff we will be back for dessert and when we got back our table was half-cleaned. Great deals on weekends!

There has obviously been a change in management and it's for the better! The food is delicious and the service is friendly and efficient. I stopped going to the tavern because the service and food was terrible but under the new management, I'll be returning - 5 stars!! Thanks to Ben for coming over and chatting to us as well. Held a large group function at the Centenary Tavern recently, and it was excellent! The organisation was easy, communication very good, and on the night, the buffet was delicious with more than enough food for hungry teenagers. The decorations were a nice addition and the staff on the night were super helpful. We will return in 2020 for this annual function. Thank you!

We came here for the first time today & we're very impressed with the friendly service & great value for money menu. We have lived across the road for the last 2 years & regret not venturing here sooner. Even the other customers were friendly!! Great family friendly atmosphere & a playground for the kids. I live locally and I am happy to recommend the Centenary Tavern to all, while I gave it a miss for a while, there has been some big changes and all for the better. Ben, Ollie, Bianca and Haley are the best, friendly service and they always make us feel very welcome. The food has improved too, you can always rely that the food will be good. I went to the Centenary Tavern for Mother's Day lunch and the food was exceptional. Our party consisted of five adults and two children and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Ben the assistant Manager came over to speak to us after our meal which was a lovely gesture. My husband and I had been to the Tavern a week earlier for drinks and we found the barman Ollie to be excellent, not only efficient and very friendly but also very kind and caring with children. Can't wait for our next visit.

We celebrated my niece and her fiance's engagement last night. There we 13 of us and .. not only were the meals cooked to perfection .. but they were delivered promptly. The staff are lovely. Haley took our orders and was amazing. Bianca .. our server .. was delightful and very accomodating. We worked with Haley to plan a function for 50 people, reserving the function room at Centenary Tavern. Haley did a fantastic job in guiding us through the preparation for the event, suggesting platters, decorations, music and drinks for our guests. We had a very enjoyable evening, as a result. We were able to use the large TVs to show our photos and Ashley did an excellent job in ensuring that food and drink was available to our guests. The function room provided a private atmosphere for us with lots of room, chairs, lounges and tables. There's also an outdoor area attached to the function room and there are separate toilets. We needed to go back to Centenary Tavern the day after our event and were surprised to see kangaroos grazing on the Tavern grounds. We highly recommend Centenary Tavern for a catered event and we thought that the price was reasonable as well.

We have recently returned to Centenary Tavern after not coming here for a few years. We have been here 6 times over the last 2 months and the food and service has been fantastic, by far the best in the centenary area. Highly recommend and the $50 deal Monday and Tuesday is great value.

Visited on a Wedneday night at 6pm for drinks. After a couple of wines and a long chat decided to stay for dinner. It was not busy.. and after an hour was empty of customers. My dining partner who lives very close by and claims this as his local said 'it is always empty except Monday Trivia and Sunday families lunch and crawling with kids and mess. (Yes I gave up on Sundays as it is not my thing... excess noise and chaos crawling the floors and walls...) Staff were polite ( an improvement on other visits!) Food was fine, chips hot, steaks very over salted! Salad .. typical lettuce, tomato and a few bits of cucumber and dressing. Ok but boring. Menu was very ordinary... other venues in the area offer far more inventives menus and more pleasant surrounds and there high level of patronage days it all. I was happy to revisit after numerous appaling and disappointing visits in the last12 months .. glad at least it wasn't another disaster and uncomfortable time for me and guests. Hope they get some consistency of standards, staffing, food, dining hours in particular and a more exciting menu soon... they might see a turn around on numbers. See my photos for evidence.

Sunday 16th June was my 75th birthday and we met one of our sons ,his wife and 2 of our beautiful grandchildren to celebrate over lunch. From the time we arrived until we left 3 hrs later we couldn't have been looked after better. They had put pink balloons in my table, the meals were well priced and delicious, especially the $1 children's meals which they loved. We were able to take our own gluten free birthday cake and plates were even supplied. The staff were wonderful. On top of that the entertainment for the children was fantastic.The chap who organised games with them and even some Dad's was amazing Supersteph was the name I think. I would certainly recommend Centenary Tavern for a celebration or just a relaxing lunch. A very special day. Thankyou!
