I recently had a Surgery done with Blair. I could not recommend him enough. I've had so many people tell me at the Wesley Hospital how nice he is, and they weren't just talking him up. He is so genuine and caring. He doesn't judge and has a beautiful bedside manner. Your never just another patient to him, every patient he builds a relationship with and ensures that you are 💯 happy. Thanks so much Dr Bowden and I can't wait to see where I am 12months from now 😊

I went for an appointment with Dr Bowden last week. The processes for booking the appointment, communication from Lara, preparation of paperwork were seamless. During the appointment with Dr Bowden he was very thorough in explaining my options for the surgery and the risks, the process and the recovery. I had juggled the idea of WLS for quite a few years. It wasn't until I bit the bullet and booked a consultation that I felt most at ease. Dr Bowden answered all my question, made me feel at ease, gave option (explaining these in detail), was transparent regarding results and the best way to achieve them. From my very first initial consultation through to surgery day and then post op consultation his invaluable expertise, his caring nature and genuine care in his patients is what this amazing Doctor gives you. My main example for this is many friends went else where and days after surgery had to go through discomfort of a barium swallow, not Dr Blair Bowden he does it all while your under to make sure while your open all is right. Dr Bowden has pretty much been a life saver for me, I previously had wls and this was my second attempt at a healthier life. I had previously been declined for surgery from 3 other surgeons due to health concerns that made my surgery more risky. After receiving what felt like another blow of being declined by a reputable surgeon I emailed Qld Bariatrics with everything and promptly was contacted by Lara with an appointment. After going in for just an appt, Blair confirmed that he could do surgery. Now just over a year and a couple of months later I have lost 60kg, whilst the health concerns that plagued me earlier are still there, they are alot more manageable. If you are one of those people who have co-morbidities such as heart, lung, kidney disease or concerns I would strongly suggest to contact their office to see if they can be of assistance. Never take no as the final answer as I was planning on doing and being the same person who was overweight, unhappy and unhealthy. I'm glad I took the chance. Blair is an extremely professional and likeable Doctor who is concerned about the health implications and overall happiness of his clients.

And here I am, approximately 4 months after my first consultation with Dr Bowden. Can I say I almost certainly owe him an extension on my life. One of his recommendations was to do a cardiac stress test to ensure I couldn't tolerate anaesthetic. That lead to an unexpected finding of cardiac artery disease with two substantially blocked arteries, an angiogram/angioplasty and two stents. He almost certainly averted a future major cardiac event. I'm now off the blood thinners and Dr Bowden has performed the hernia surgery.... which has turned out really really well. Again, I can't overstate his personable, professional ability. Absolutely admire this surgeon. He even called my wife immediately after my surgery to tell her I was ok!
