L. C.Great relaxed atmosphere. Beers are cold and food is delicious. Generous servings of good old pub meals without the frills and pricetags that go with it. Friendly staff and the fur friends that greet you are rather cute too. Lots of carved wooden furniture around to find a seat somewhere and chill out with friends. Definitely a place to visit and enjoy the balmy breezes blowing through the verandahs and rural hospitality. Established in 1886..there must be some stories to be told...if only the walls could talk.

L.We were please to be very welcoming by Lorena in Café General Gordon Hotel.We came in December 2020 and we were lost on our way and thanks to Lorena and this amazing place our night and day made us feel better.We enjoyed a lot our stay even for only one night . The view around the hotel during the sunset is full of colors and amazing The morning Lorena make us a two coffee each. The dogs was lovely .She take care about her customers and the place . Hope to come back in this amazing place and see this great Lorena! Patrycja and Marine 2 ladies from EU .
M. S.We had a fabulous time staying out the back of the hotel in our caravan for a couple of nights. Our husbands had a whole new experience playing pool on the round table. Good, cold beers very reasonably priced and good old fashioned pub grub. We'll definitely be back! The friends we were traveling with had been here before and they said it was even better than the last time. Cheers and enjoy!

P. R.Stayed behind the hotel. Had a great time ! Played pool with some wonderful guys, the cook made us a special vegetarian pizza just for us and everyone was so nice !
Should mention the shower area is a bit rustic ... But the water is nice and hot !

C. H.Built in 1886 this pub could tell a lot of stories I am sure. I stumbled upon it as I was looking for a place to camp while I was in Mackay for a few nights. Extremely cheap to stay in the camping area with showers and toilets. Very friendly staff and management. The meals are so good and cheap it is worth popping in just for a delicious meal. Highly recommended old style pub with a lot of history and characters.

L. G.Wow...what a great little Queensland pub in the middle of the cane fields. We stayed at the rear of the pub in our caravan for a night. Sunday was $6 steak burgers and had some good country music playing. Would definitely stay back here again $5 per person. Amenities are basic so don't expect 5 star but I loved the experience 😎. Well done guys!

L. B.Good to stop at, primative shower & toilet but never the less you cane have a clean. Bit noisy early in the morning when it is Cain season. Amazing wooden tables & chairs with a lot of character.
B. B.I had a fab night (Sat 24th Aug) at the Grapevine Fun Raiser. The boys put on a top show, so much variety... Ohh & the food wasn't half bad either & plenty of it, too. 💞🚐
