This place is extremely popular and was packed when I was there. If you are heading there on the weekends for a meal, I suggest making a reservation. The meals are very large. Don't make the same mistake as me and order a large parmigiana - you won't finish it! When I was there, the meals came out one at a time which some patrons found annoying. They have a nice beer garden and animals for the kids to look at. Definitely give this place a try.

Merinandan is the quintessential country pub. Quality good, and despite enormous portions, not that expensive. Any time I feel like being a fatty I will come here, it my enormous meal, and the second half of my wife and daughters meal. Service is regularly blockbusters. I considered taking half a star due to the pet camels being crowd shy. I'm sure the staff will work on them being more readily approachable for pats.

Busy country pub. Great atmosphere. Good food, good serves, i had the mixed grill , very nice, however my wife's battered fish was out of a packet and not very nice. Nice cold beer. Friendly staff. Good idea to book. Thanks for your reply. I understand about fish being frozen at sea, myself being a chef. The point i was making that the one you are using isn't nice. Maybe change the type you are using or buy frozen fillets and batter them yourself.

The food was excellent, service was brilliant, atmosphere was exceptional, now the down side .....apparently there were two sittings 5.30 and 7.00 pm, we chose 5.30 pm and were reminded several times we would have to vacate to accommodate the second sitting..at 6.50 a waiter came through to once again remind us..We left leaving unfinished meals with no opportunity of a dessert or a coffee etc ."if" we ever go again we will opt for the later sitting and avoid the indigestion....

Today was the first time i have been out to the pub and i was so happy. The atmosphere felt like home, the staff were so wonderful, happy and polite, they always had a smile on their face. Now the food, what can i say im a food lover and when i saw the generous portion on my plate i couldn't even eat it all and it was cooked to perfection plus it was so cheap. It was an amazing experience. Thank you so much, i will definitely be coming back out again and making it my regular spot.

Meringandan Pub is the best pub in Australia. No were else in the country can you get a rib fillet THIS massive, cooked to absolute perfection, perfect chip and sauce amount, for around 30 bux! I've eaten here a few times and it's always won. All the time. The staff are awsome, the atmosphere is friendly with great country hospitality. Can't wait to eat there again :D

A really great local pub! The food is pretty great, the meals are large, the staff are delightful. If you're going on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, I would recommend making a booking as it's very popular! I will always recommend this place to people visiting or new to the area.

We had lunch there midweek , so very relaxed with only a few folk in a very substantial seating area. The outdoor area is shady and delightful with chooks and bird sounds an aviary and a small animal enclosure with camels and ducks with ducklings. The meal @$12.50( lunch special ) was a very large serve and the chips the best we've ever had. The piece of sweet watermelon just topped off a very generous meal. Really enjoyed the whole experience and the service, friendly and cheerful.

Just a good old fashioned country pub with great meals and a relaxed atmosphere. The Meringandan Pub was recommended to us as we were new to Toowoomba, and it lived up to the hype. Completely decieving from the outside as to what waits within, slightly modernised with a great beer garden area attached and the meals are huge, I am not exaggerating, not large, huge. If you love value when you eat out and enjoy well done pub food, The Meringandan is the place for you. A quick drive from Highfields, if you are visiting Toowoomba it is a must to take the drive out and try it. Bring the family, bring the kids, all catered for, and of course all sorts of drinks and cold beer. When you get to the sleepy little place you will be wondering what all of the fuss is about, not much there as you pass through, don't kid yourself - make a booking, almost essential, trust the locals who know about this place and fill it up. This is one to try when in and around Toowoomba, Thank me later.

Went to the hotel two weekends in a row. For two separate birthdays and on both occasions was disappointed by the food. The first time I ordered the salt and pepper squid and it was overcooked and when you took a bite oil would rush out. My fiancé had the grilled fish and it had no flavour at all. Also at the same table someone ordered a steak well done and it came out medium at best. The second visit. Both my fiancé and I got the Caesar salad. I paid the extra for the large and the $6 difference went into lettuce and nothing else. Not to mention all the bacon, Parmesan and tomato’s were on the bottom of the plate. Wasn’t all bad there the staff were wonderful, friendly and very pleasant to deal with. Atmosphere good. I loved the fact there were high chairs. How ever was cramped if you planned on bringing a pram

Went here for lunch and was not disappointed. Was in the mood for a steak and ordered a T-bone, with pepper gravy chips and salad. Staff were friendly and I wasn't waiting too long for my meal even though it was relatively busy. Got a nice shock when it came to the table, wow the T-bone steak was huge, heaps of chips and a salad to feed a family of 4! Haha maybe not that much salad but it was a lot. Stead was cooked perfectly, chips were the nice beer battered type and the salad was lovely and even topped off with a slice of watermelon. I was visiting here from Sydney, and if this was Sydney it would have coated about 50-70 bucks. Got it all for about 30 so absolutely amazing price for what you get. I tired the best I could but couldn't finish it all and certainly not from a lack of wanting to. Great food, great staff and an amazing place to eat. Would happily go again in the future.

Best pub meals in the district- extremely generous serves and a fabulous menu. Plenty of seating inside and out. Priced well - around $20-35 depending on your choices. My steak was perfectly cooked, others had the lamb, chicken schnitzel and fish and they were very impressed. Highly recommend a visit if you’re out that way.

If you are looking for a country wife, the meringandan pub isa great place to start. You can drop in with the boys after work for a coldie in the high vis or if you're an aviator from Oakey it's a great spot to find the future Mrs. Aviator. The food portions are massive. Service is always good and the price is great. You can even treat yourself to a frozen Lemonade.

The only really low point was that there was one cover that couldn’t zip down and in the rainy wind it kept flapping and was distracting.

I went to that hotel with 15 others for lunch. It didn't take long before all of us had our meals. The meal prices was on the cheap end however the quality was right on top not to mention the size of the meal. Nobody could finish their meals. That's how big they were. Even the so called small size meals were bigger than most meals I've had other places. Definitely a place worth visiting.

The food portions are enormous, and huge value especially for New Years lunch with the family. We paid $75 for 5 adult main courses not including drinks, we were out the door around $100 including everything. The service was fantastic, atmosphere off the charts and the food was as exceptional as the value. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Dad (Keith) took us to the pub for a meal on 31st Dec 2019 and I must say, WOW! The best pub experience I have encountered in well over 20 years. The staff were outstanding with service and friendliness. Wheelchair access for Mum (who is a paraplegic) was easy and staff were there to greet and guide is to a table where she was able to sit at comfortably (not many places consider the height of tables for wheelchair access). But enough about Mum. The meals were scrumptious and extremely generous. My Aunt visiting from the USA was beyond impressed and commented the meals and service was bigger and better than in the US (imagine that!). I think my eyes stayed wide open in amazement from the moment the door opened. If you are thinking of going, don’t think, just do.

This is a great spot for a traditional country pub lunch - just a 15 minute drive from Toowoomba CBD. Had lunch at the Meringdan Hotel for my father's 99th birthday. The management and staff made us feel very welcome and the meals and the service was terrific.
