The Boat Shed has easy online booking for
lunch or dinner 7 days a week. The staff are
professional and efficient. Mainly a steak
house, there are non-steak options on the
menu, as well as GF and DF options. The
food is delicious with good portions. An
expansive drinks menu to accompany your
meals. Facilities on the premises and parking
available. A popular venue, with good reason.

The lounging bar is amazing, such a chilled out way to CHILL OUT. Burgers top notch. Sundays live band does requests and a lot of fun is had! Try it out. Actually don't. Wanna keep this as my own clubhouse ;)
Y. A.
i was very surprised by this dinner experience!! i did not expect such high quality and delicious food from @regattahotel 🤭🤍 love the atmosphere and vibe of the entire place too~ like a casual pub/club🧐🤣 super super busy at night!! such a lively place~ i never expected it to be so big inside🤭
we ordered ✨🍽:
🍔southern fried chicken burger $18: this was SO big oh my, surprisingly quite good!! chicken wasn’t juicy but it wasn’t dry which is good~ flavour was quite nice and it was super crunchy~ the fries🤤hot and crisppp~
🍕prosciutto rosso $21: this. was. incredible. it doesn’t state that it’s wood fired, but it really tastes like it!! dough was fluffy and cooked to perfection oh my, it was my first time having caramelized onions on a pizza and oh my- what a beautiful addition! balances out the prosciutto perfectly🤤i would come back just for this pizza!
🍛 coconut chicken curry $21: this was a chef special~ it was pretty nice~ the chicken was a little dry and i don’t really like coconut curries so it wasn’t really my taste but really good quality!🥰
🥗caesar salad $17: ordered a salad to repair balance out the heaviness of everything else~ refreshing and nice! bacon was quite hard as well as the huge cuts of bread but overall an okay salad~
💜lilac sky $12: this mocktail was delishhh!! with butterfly pea inside, it was a beautiful colour! with hints of citrus and floral flavours, it was refreshing and yum!🥰 ugh if only i had the right coloured nails🥲🤣
overall, a lovely lovelyyyy dinner at @regattahotel a staple and icon in Brisbane, if you haven’t checked it out, it’s definitely worth it!🤩🥰

Beautiful food prepared with love and attention to detail. Outstanding draft beers, delicious cocktails and an excellent wine selection. The market fish is exquisite with beautiful little potatoes and a delicious green salsa. If you want a fantastic steak accompanied with a cold draft beer or favourite red this is the place. The steaks are extraordinary and glide like butter! The chef fiercely guards your steak and is protective to grill it perfectly. I got him to smile though 😉
The sides including the veg are fresh and tasty and the salads are consistently crisp and fabulous to have as a starter. The oysters are beautiful. The waiters and staff are brilliant with fantastic service and will check on you to make sure you are not waiting on a drink. The Boatshed is perfect for a lazy long lunch, special occasions and date nights. Book early as it gets very busy. My only sadness here is that we really miss the sublime lime cheesecake as it’s no longer on the menu. They could do with a rhubarb crumble and offer a couple options to include less sweet desserts:)

Arrive by ferry & this was my first visit to Regatta Hotel on Saturday 04/09/21 visiting from Cairns. The Hotel looks beautiful with it's charm character & heritage, even though I only had time for one cup of Cappuccino I could have easily sat outside all day, with its relaxed friendly atmosphere & only a 10 min walk to Toowong Village.
J. A.
The food was absolutely delicious and divine.
A little bit pricey but it's a nice place for a date and special occasions.
G. B.
Jacob (the guy who runs the little side cafe) is great! He told us which of the desserts are his favourites! Awesome customer service!
A. S.
Had the dry aged rump cap and it was absolutely sensational. Amazing flavour, cooked to perfection. Great selection of drinks and great service and ambience. Parking can get quite busy so if you have the option to get public transport you should (you can drink more too!)
M. M.
Solid lunch time experience for me! We have the fish with salad and it was fabulous, drinks nice (although a little pricey).
Location itself is stunning with fabulous views back over the river. Service was prompt and friendly. Fish was cooked really well, tartare sauce was fabulous.
All in all a fabulous experience overall.
P. Y.
Wonderful cocktails ☺️
Great service
Nice place to hang out with friends and family
J. P.
Awesome traditional pub feel, great staff and the food was delish. Love the interior, and exterior keeping the old school vibe but modernised. Very well done. We had the chicken schnitty (gravy was epic) and the pulled pork nachos. Both were amazing. Will definitely be back.
M. H.
Boatshed - Great venue with an old and mixed heritage. The food was very good and lived up to all the reviews. Best steaks we've had in ages. Service was fabulous. Our waiter, Joey , could not have been more attentive.
K. A.
I went for the first time being told that the steak is one of the best. We ordered our steak to be medium rare but it came rare. Obviously we were disappointed but our lovely table host Brittany was very apologetic and was keen on resolving the order immediately. She was so polite and great at what she does. I wouldn't go again for the food, but the service by Brittany was exceptional. Thank you Brittany 😊
K. E.
Boat Shed- For a group of people this is a nice place to go, food was good standard for this style of venue
M. W. T.
Amazing food absolutely worth the visit.
2
1 points however.
My friend bought 2 non alcoholic drinks and one alcoholic drink and was charged $30.00 ( not a martini or anything just gin and something)
This is excessive.
Would definitely go back though for the food.
D. M.
Amazing dry ages beef steaks with lively ambience.
K. D.
Regular Friday lunch visits to Regatta Boat Shed. Highly recommend. Always great service and meals spot on. Go for a steak or fish of the day. The chips that come with the steak are irresistible. Much prefer to Breakfast Creek Hotel.
R. S.
Great place to celebrate a graduation. I have not had steak cooked so well and taste so scrumptious in a long time. You pay for it....but it is worth it. Service was just right.
Hope to to again. Certainly keep this as our place for celebrations

As far as "locals" go this is a favourite of ours. Donning rustic aesthetics and positioned right on the river it is coveted for the front view terraces across both top and bottom levels. The venue is generally pretty clean and bar service is usually very good also.
The Boatshed restaurant is classy yet warm and inviting. Very spacious with comfortable seating. The food is great which the prices reflect. Never disappointing and the service is always 5 star
A. C.
Plenty of bar options. From the upper deck or the rum bar in the basement, a lot of nice corners to seclude yourself and friends for a nice drink and a catch-up. The boat house restaurant has a good variety of steaks, but limited with other options.
S. C.
Just had Christmas lunch. What an amazing group of people. Staff were fantastic. Briit our young waitress was a credit to her parents. As a father of a young lady she was fabulous. Thanks guys will back again next year.
S. M.
Had a wonderful 80th birthday along with my husbands 85. The private room was comfortable and the staff were fantastic. My steak was cooked to perfection. Thank you for a great night.
T. “. R.
Lovely service and in a timely manner. Meals were super tasty.
S. K.
Wonderful place and location, right across the Brisbane River. Food is on the $$$ side but good food and great atmosphere. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable to suggest and help to choose what is best. Good bear and alcohol section in the bar area. Open area to sit down and have a meal or drink while enjoying the cool breeze that come from the river. Place is bubbly and vibrant.
M. C.
Came here for the Boatshed restaurant and was not disappointed. We had 2 steaks and the seafood linguine and each was equally spectacular. Perfectly cooked steaks! My friend - who doesn't enjoy seafood - said the linguine was divine after having one bite. Service was good and staff were attentive. The only downside was the price - you only get one choice of side (out of two) and sauce with the steak even though your paying $40+ for each.
I. D.
The food was great, the service was amazing one of the best, we even got a greeting card wishing us happy anniversary, loved the gesture! Couldn't have chosen a better location to celebrate our special day. Will definitely come back with more people this time! The staff was lovely and even volunteered to take pictures for us.
M. W.
Customer service - outstanding, thanks Brad!
Steak- perfect
Blue cheese sauce - Omg
Toilet situation a bit weird, but that’s ok
100% recommend!

Beautiful dining experience with a really lovely energy..The staff were exceptionally attentive, patient and warm and we very much appreciated the time they took out of their own NYE celebtations to look after us.Our four meals were beautiful. Congratulations to the kitchen and staff for sustaining the pressure of New Years Eve and working so well together to deliver something memorable and delicious. Thank you Boat Shed for giving us a very special NYE dinner.
P. I.
Great afternoon with mates had, prices were a little weird when we were ordering the same drinks but we received a refund a few days later, presumably after cash register reconciliation.
Very happy about that.
M. W.
Been coming back here for years, atmosphere is excellent as well as the meals. Great place to catch up with friends and family for a quality venue.
b.
Really nice ambience for a steak house. The service was superb. Reasonably priced. The food was delicious. However, some of us at our table were not very impressed with the steak we ordered. I order a sirloin and got served a porterhouse. Needless to say my jaw muscles had a workout that night.
F. S.
Was an awesome atmosphere staff were great we did have a booking at boatshed and our table wasn't ready and we a bit of a wait it was a really busy day though
C. G.
The food is good and the staff are patient. The steak is juicy and in a good quality. I like the berry non-alcohol beverage.
E. D.
If i could give them more than 5 stars! Best steak in Brisbane. obviously classy, professional staff. although we went there for steaks but at the end I was in love with lemon cheesecake! OMG! it was piece of art! just check the photo you will get me.
Taste: 5/5
Price: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Environment: 5/5

Have been going to the Reg for YEARS! Always a great place to catch up with old friends or just a great way to finish off a working week! Love the staff, always cheery 😁
M. T.
Had dinner there tonight before we fly back to Melbourne, we were there around 3:30 and found out it’s only open again at 5:30pm. So decided have drinks and snack and wait it up. Thanks 🙏 that the wait was worthwhile. I order sirloin with medium well and it was perfect for me. Taste so 😋 yum, mushroom sauce was great with the beef even the potato. 👍👍👍 definitely recommend to pay a visit.
R. N.
Great local spot! Awesome for weekend brunches, mid-week day drinks, after work drinks as well, and fun nights out even. You have the Boatshead there in case you feel like having a great dinner but the food and drinks at the regatta's courtyard are amazing, the baked brie is to die for. Definitely a must try. What can I say? Its my local bar. Can't get enough.
D. H.
Popular spot with lots of different bars and dining options. Can get very wet in some covered spaces when it rains, which it does often in Brisbane summers. Food had been hit and miss sometimes, but good variety.
M. L.
Have just had a fabulous morning hosting a year-end event for my team at the function rooms at the Regatta Hotel on the River in Toowong. Rita, the Functions and Events Manager, was an absolute delight to work with in planning and hosting our event. Nothing was too much trouble, and the room was set up beautifully. Compliments to the chef for an outstanding brunch - specially crafted for us as an all-vegetarian affair. Fruit platters, Yoghurt pots, Pumpkin and Pine-nut quiche, Roasted mushrooms, potatoes and veggies, Grilled tomato, Avocado slices, Baked shakshuka, Eggs Florentine, Cheese and tomato croissants, Assorted danishes, Cold pressed juices and Fruit infused chilled water. Outstanding. Many of my team commented at how amazing it was. The staff were brilliant. Very highly recommend the Regatta if you are looking to do something similar. 11/10. Thanks Rita. A pleasure to have been at your place.
Z. L.
Have to say food was pretty average for the setting, price and reputation this place has.
came here for boyfriends birthday lunch.
we both had steak. one of them was lovely whilst the other was slightly tougher. However neither were nearly as good as the steaks from outback steakhouse in aspley. It also came with less sides than aspley.
however good wine selection.
i just expect more from fancy place such as the boat shed.
M. F.
I took the ferry from West End to Regatta, which is an easy & super relaxed 7 minute ride. The Regatta ferry terminal is very convenient as you simply walk up the ramp, cross at the traffic lights & the Regatta Hotel is proudly standing on the corner. Breakfast was very nice & the outdoor seating area is very relaxing. The Regatta is a very beautiful historic building which adds to the dining experience. The staff were friendly & polite, and my scrambled eggs with a side of roasted mushrooms was delicious. I also thought it was very reasonably priced. I will look forward to my next visit.
J. H.
Great pub feed, great view from the second level balcony and if you take the time to look around, there’s some interesting history to learn while checking out the building.
M. B.
We held a work function here for Xmas and the service was excellent. The food came out on time and was of a high standard. The room was organised exactly as we wanted and the person looking after us did an excellent job. If possible Uber or public transport would be better than driving as the parking is about the only thing that isn’t great. Highly recommended and my team have, for the first time ever, asked if we can hold next years party here as well!
P. B.
Food was great but did find that some staff don't listen to what you are saying. Had to tell 1 staff member, behind the bar, that we were paying for our lunch and not ordering it 3 times before she understood.
m. k.
I went for a private party. A great location. The service was terrific and the team friendly. The food served was excellent, a mix of finger food and small meal boxes. The room was comfortable and allowed you on to the verandah to enjoy the view and mingle in the fresh air.
I. L.
Still a great restaurant!
4 months after last visit, this time Friday lunch, Food was excellent (Kingfish for me this time), Service was great, no fuss, all meals (3) came out hot and perfect. If it wasn't on the other side of town for me, I'd eat there a lot more often.
V. P.
Fantastic experience eating at the BoatShed. Cannot fault the excellent, friendly service of the wait staff, or the kitchen staff for producing a quality meal. Will definitely recommend and visit again one day.
E. O.
Great location, cold beer, nice food and friendly service
K. G.
A belated Thankyou to the Private Functions team at the Regatta for hosting our annual Christmas Party. The room and service were outstanding. Thankyou Chelsea.
S. P.
My husband and I went to dinner at boatshed last night for our 6 year anniversary. I did have to call to say we were running a little late and was very reassured by Lee who advised that they would hold the table for us. We were also greeted and given complimentary bubbles to celebrate our special occasion by Lee. Boatshed was very accommodating and the food of delicious. We actually came for our anniversary last year and the experience was even better this time around. I think this might have to become our spot. We had the oysters Kirkpatrick and seafood linguine. Loved every bit and every moment.
M. M.
This place is pretty big, and nicely decorated. Haven't been upstairs yet, but there's plenty of space to get comfy. Lots of television screens... a good place for the sports fans. The food is decent, and the customer service is very helpful. The only thing I didn't like is the chemical smell that's near the bathroom, which makes me feel sick every time I was there.
D. Q.
Dinner area and food was great. Bar area needs a revamp, leaking roof, buckets everywhere and seats and cushions were all wet, not a great look.
M. J.
Stopped in for coffee and a sneaky pastry after a run. The coffee is decent, the atmosphere is really nice.
The Avo on toast my companion ordered didn’t taste fresh and therefore they didn’t finish it. No complaints on my Almond Croissant.
M. H.
Delicious chicken schnitzel meal, great size and value, goes well with my beer.
R. A.
Fantastic steak, good wine selection. A little noisy at peak times but otherwise a nice atmosphere.
Have enjoyed the eye fillet and filet mignon on multiple occasions and rate the steaks here above all others in Brisbane.
T. Z.
Juicy steaks for reasonable prices and with very friendly service. The dining room was a bit too loud for my taste, it's a big boat house as it says, no sound damping whatsoever. I ordered a 350g sirloin steak, it was excellent and more than enough for dinner.
D. V.
Food was great but minus one star as they missed my order on drink and the steak for some reasons. Took another 20 minutes for me to wait while my family already finished their dishes.
J. P.
Great food and service (thanks Emma). Very expensive wine for a small serve in a giant glass but Mum enjoyed it. Mocktail delish. Very patient with a group who arrived at different times and individual card payments made life easy.
M.
A beautiful building with lots of interesting and thoughtful details that have gone into it. We went in the middle of the day after the lunch cut-off and before the dinner session began. Perhaps it was the time of the day but the beautiful bathrooms were in an absolute state. The outdoor tables and chairs were similarly unkept too. Other than that, the all-day lunch menu was delicious. If we were there for a drink in the bar and to people-watch, it would have been a fantastic spot for it.
B. M.
Lots of chew and spews around, probably not suited to a quiet drink for a bit bunch of old parents like us, but a nice open breezy venue with plenty of space and some reasonable food and value.
R. C.
The Boatshed is a great spot for a long lunch. The steak was tops and the sides were yummy.
R. A.
Good and generous food!
N. C.
Beautiful venue, great attention to detail in fit out. Friendly staff.
But for the love of God, please choose better music in the front bar. Commercial pop music has no place in a pub like this or any pub for that matter. Totally ruins it.
Cheers.
T.
Food was cooked to perfection and probably was the best steak I’ve had since travelling to NZ. However, the wait times were just unreasonable. We booked in advanced for a table of 13 on a Wednesday and waited almost an hour between course and had to continuously wave down team members to have our order taken.
T. M.
Good venue, old time charm. A bit run down though, in particular the outdoors, the couches have covers that seem to haven’t had some TLC in a long time. But popular spot, nevertheless, to enjoy pub fare and a beer!
P. v. B.
Great place. Very historic. Great service and enjoyed a great coffee in the sheltered outdoor area.
J. M.
Good place tbh. But could do with some music I reckon. Love Jack
S. G.
We were there for a weekday lunch and had fish and chips at $26 each. Food was ok but servings were too large with a price to match putting it on the expensive side. We were a party of 6 and sat inside but found the music was too loud for comfortable conversation so left right after eating and went elsewhere for a drink and chat.
E. m.
Delicious steak 🥩 v good quality & fabulous seafood linguine!
The staff are v friendly & welcoming.
The location is v nice by the river and we parked at the hotel 🏨 car park.
N. S.
Super great hotel! Something for everyone, like having 6 venues to visit all in one place!
The best food ever!
Such great steaks, wines and cocktails and fun place to hang out
@big_small_world_travels
J. A.
Attend for a work Xmas party. Food was good. Our bartender Stef was rude and very unfriendly. Rude to our company CEO several times. Shame her poor service and attitude dampen our celebrations.
A. A.
Awesome, happy ambience and super awesome staff. Good food , plenty drinks options.
T. B.
Pretty nice place, price was a bit high though. Crazy busy though.
D. K.
Great food and atmosphere. I liked the comfortable padded lounge chairs in the corner. Service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.
l. t.
Slight over priced, food was good but small quantity. Dunno what the salad was meant to be but looked like boiled cabbage.
D. K.
We visited during the Winter in the Vineyards event. We ordered pizzas and mulled wine and went down a treat (maybe not the best wine for the price). Highly recommend booking a seat in the courtyard as it looked like the best place in the house (great vibes and ambiance). Was unlucky not to get a seat there but will return and hope better luck next time.
D. C.
Delightful entrees and steaks for our anniversary. Great service, great ambiance full bellies!
K. B.
Amazing service. Food to die for!!!! Best steaks we have had in a while. We went back a second time.
S. B.
Excellent food and a great atmosphere, the lighting of an evening is soft and enjoyable. The Staff member who served us was friendly and professional, highly recommended checking out The Boatshed!
K. H.
The Boatshed is an awesome place to dine! It has a great atmosphere, complimented with staff who understand good customer service. The food is amazing, the steaks are cooked perfectly 👌🏻 my partner and I have eaten there many times and our favourite would be signature rib on the bone. Highly recommend!
J. M.
Great place to stop for a coffee break 🙃 however staff need to get the orders correct. Ordered large coffee's and received regular, ordered food and one person didn't get their meal. Need to write it down guys
T. O.
Venue is great, the pub food I didn't love.
Will be back for sure but would be great if the pub grub was on par with other places.
I hear the restraint is very good though so will try that next time.
G. G.
Cool place! Jazz at the pub every Thursday is amazing too
M. H.
Manager by the name of Scott was absolutely lovely and accommodating to myself and company on a busy Saturday night and not to mention coupled with the pressure of maintaining venue capacity under stooped covid legislation on a particularly busy Saturday night.
Tick of approval if his candour is the standard for this venue.
D. W.
The Regatta has great service, friendly staff and tender steaks. If you enjoy steak cooked to a 'melt in your mouth' standard then give the Regatta a go.
b. w.
So..... I had heard some good things about this place but.... for last night. The waiter put our entre with our main resulting in me and my partner sitting there for 45 minutes no food just a glass of wine before they spoke to us. It then took another 15 minutes before the entre came out, which was Bruschetta.
Apart for that the food wasn't too bad. I had the more expensive Sirloin and it was very juicy and nice. Pumpkin was amazing, brocolini was nice.
Staff were pleasant and they had a good set up, but they need to be better at fixing order mistakes and serving time.
G. T.
Sublime and well seasoned steaks. Staff went above and beyond. Very thorough and patient with our many orders. We had an amazing time. Thank you.
R. R.
My 5 stars are for the chefs, servers, and the dishy. Excellent steak, average garlic bread. There for a mates annual survival day, 30pax, average $100 per person, management insisted on $150 cake cutting fee.
S. M.
We went to a Melbourne Cup do at Boatshed Restaurant yesterday. Food and wine were delicious and service faultless. We will be back.
Z. S.
I am completely amazed with how lovely the steak was, my friends where consistently bragging at how great it tasted and I tell you I couldn’t of chomped into a better medium rare. It was perfect, the staff where great and I had a lovely dinner. A little hint, get to the lift and head downstairs to the basement. It’s a pretty cool place.
K. B.
A Brisbane institution! There is nothing like kicking back on the verandah on a lazy Sunday afternoon! Some prefer breakfast or brunch, dog friendly & child friendly.
There are many other choices, worth exploring their restaurant & menu options.
J. P.
Beautiful old but well looked after and maintained heritage building with front seat views of the Brisbane River. On this occasion we only had drinks. Service was fast and friendly. Inside was packed with people of all ages and was difficult to hear anything and as we were there for a business meeting we moved out to the verandah. It was a fabulous venue to go to with friends 10+ years ago and clearly still is.
G. E.
Great venue for drinks, food and celebrating. Ideal location to watch the river roll by while enjoying comfortable surroundings and fine service.
J. A.
Great service, excellent steaks. Thanks for a great afternoon.
b.
Great starting point for Coffee early Saturday morning then Ferry ride downtown starts just over the road Bike ride back for Beers in the arvo Great Pub helped make our day in Brisbane one to remember Grouse
J. L.
Restaurant that really dedicated for their craft. We had a lovely time in there, and lighting and ambience was perfect.
A. L. (.
What a beautiful place to dine at fantastic food the most friendliest staff and the Chefs are the best in Brisbane
C. C.
Nice fitout food is okay but not outstanding. General pup selection of meals. Tap cider expensive
J. B.
Great food. Steak cooked perfectly with a well thought out selection of sides to compliment. Excellent service provided with staff who were welcoming and attentive, bit not overtly so. Will definitely come back again.
M. O.
We had a great lunch at the Boatshed for my dads 83rd birthday. Our waitress, "Anna" was attentive and excellent, sorted our drink and meal orders with grace and efficiency. I'd say the best service I've had dining out in a lonb time. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, our orders ranged from rare to medium-well and all were on point, perfectly cooked and tender. Thank you Boatshed for a totally enjoyable birthday lunch!
S. H.
This is a beautiful restaurant with impeccable taste and design. The food is well worth the price the booking is necessary and just enjoy. Yummo
A. S.
Absolutely delicious steak 😋 fab seafood and some of the finest Red wine you can buy! VERY noisy Friday lunch though an upgrade to the private dining room solved that. Definitely several cuts above pub food 😃
S. B.
So kindly held the function for B105s international women's day breakfast. Beautiful food and coffee
A. P. W. A.
A great place to come to eat to drink the views the scenery the people
J. C.
Awesome Aussie Pub, great food and fresh
Carlton on tap. The platter we had was brilliant. Excellent rum bar downstairs with a great selection of quality Rum. Cocktails were 10/10
L. H.
Great place! So many options of areas to relax, have a drink our listen to the occasional solo guitarists music. Boat Shed Restaurant next door specialises in steak .
Fabulous cosy lounges our bar tables and stools. Other areas feature a fireplace for winter, sports screens our small corner lounges. There is also tables and chairs outdoors roadside under the trees .
You can get food all day at reasonable prices.
Selection is the usual pub grub ... pizza, burgers, steaks etc.
The decor is perfect to give this'old lady' Queenslander a delightful interior that shows off the old and blends into the modern.
The staff are polite and efficient.
Good spot for a Sunday relaxing drink or a lunch by the street.
There is also a large bottle shop .. and more than that a hidden bar downstairs ! Check out out!
G. B.
Great venue with good range of drinks and good food. Balcony up top for a good afternoon beer.

I always go to restaurants with the expectation that I am going to receive below average service and average food, with young waiters that are not properly trained in the finer points of restaurant service, and that lack the necessary menu knowledge or skills to deliver an excellent dining experience.
However, upon our recent visit I was suitably impressed at the level of service that I received at your restaurant.
I hate going to restaurants where the waiters arrive with your food and then ask the patrons who is having what meal? It smacks of laziness and a lack of care, and it is something I would expect from a pub or RSL...sadly though I see it in many fine dining restaurants...but NOT yours, and for this I was pleasantly surprised.
The waiter we had was professional, and we hardly noticed he was there, plus he offered his advice as to what sauces go best with the different types of steak offered.
All six steaks arrived perfectly cooked to everyones liking (again, a rarity in most restaurants) and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our table was a window booth that was cosy and intimate, and it had a vibrant, fun atmosphere.
The only complaint I had was a total lack of available car parking, even in the surrounding streets. I had to drive a decent distance before I could find a park. I would suggest anyone who considers dining here on a Friday Saturday night Uber or Taxi it to your venue.
Thank you for a most enjoyable evening and we look forward to dining with you again.
Cheers,
Alex Kennison

The best steaks in Brisbane, hands down.
c. n.
Best service, lovely venue overlooking Brisbane River. Nice music as well.

We had our engagement party in the Winterford Room on May 1. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything went to plan, that guests were happy and that the night went off without a hitch. The staff were friendly and attentive and the area was very clean and tidy. They also ensured the room could be accessed easily by our disabled guests and made sure there was space for them to sit and feel comfortable. Our guests had nothing but nice things to say and we would consider the Regatta again for special occasions in the future.
C. S.
Many thanks to the function staff at the Regatta for handling so professionally our birthday event! The Whiskey Bar on the ground floor is a stylish venue, and staff - both in preparing for the party and on the night - were helpful and attentive. Canapés and food boxes were devoured and the wine package was enjoyed. Everything went off without a hitch and nothing was too much trouble.
M. (.
The French Martini is a favourite, and I enjoy the variety of spaces to sit. Have had great experiences with customer service.
P. D.
Had quick lunch on the street Cafe. Fast service, good food (we had rib fillet burger and beef brisket tacos) for about $16 each. Lovely salty bacon on the burger and food sized soft tacos.
G. H.
Nice historic pub right on the water. Food was a bit oily (soft tacos with chicken), but otherwise it’s a great pub to sit and chill with friends.
M. H.
Thank you so much we did have a problem with delays with our pizza orders which was attended to immediately after notifying the Manager. I could not have wished for better service, delicious pizzas & abundant choice of drinks including great range of wine 🍷because of the extra time discovered the amazing basement “The Walrus Club” with abundant nooks & crannies - a real treat. Definitely a place to revisit especially Jazz on Thursday eve 🍷🙏 🍕
D. B.
40 day aged T-bone was delicious and perfectly cooked. All the food at our table of 10 looked great and no complaints, good selection of draught beers, quick attentive service, a bit noisy (that could just be me)
T. H.
One of the best pubs going!! Always a good atmosphere and has one of the best pub Chicken Burgers around
N. G.
Always good and has a welcoming and friendly buzz. Superb steak selection and wine list (excellent Henschke wines are currently prominent and promoted). Atmospheric room, great for special occasions. Service was good but getting attention for a second glass of wine took effort. Still, would go back anytime the desired theme is steak - there's no better in Brisbane. Closest next-best option is the Red Lion Hotel (somewhat inconveniently located in Rockhampton).
M. A.
Space for any style of event and a nice spot for a Thursday night dinner.
Very popular so I would recommend booking to make sure you get a table on your chosen day and time.
M. M.
The bars have a great atmosphere. Trendy and buzzing upstairs, intimate and mysterious in the cellars downstairs.
Food was a bit above average, slightly small servings for the price.
Drinks and cocktails were good, and the service downstairs friendly 😊
M. P.
OK
Female staff member was a bit aggressive, coffee wasn't bad though
N. s.
One of the oldest pub/restaurant/cafe with beautiful sights. Reasonable price and good foods
A. H.
What surprised me about our most recent visit to the famous Regatta Hotel, on a busy Sunday evening, was how quick and efficient the service was, despite the fact that the place was packed, inside and outside. I guess most people, like us, had come to take advantage of their generous January promo of 50% of all food and drink between 5-6pm.
And what a win that was. Four of us dined and we ordered three steaks, a steak sandwich, two schooners of Kosciuszko Pale Ale, a cold drink and a glass of sparkling wine, and it all came to a reasonable $67.
We managed to find ourselves a table outside, which was just as well. It was a warm, muggy, summer evening, perfect for “alfresco” dining and in any event, indoors was hellishly noisy. And full marks to our friendly waitress, who went out of her way to set up the table for us, and to make sure that we were comfortable. Despite the racket indoors, outside it was laid back, cool and relaxing and we enjoyed our evening.
We did our ordering through the app, and that went off smoothly, this being the second time we’ve done that, so I guess we’ve got the hang of it now. The drinks came out fairly quickly, and it only took about 15 minutes for the main meals to arrive, an outstanding effort given how busy it was. And our servers were all polite, efficient and helpful.
I ordered the rump steak with gravy. It was well cooked, the way I like it with a nice serve of crunchy chips and a nutritious and colourful side salad. My wife's sirloin came with BBQ sauce, which added a nice tangy flavour to the meat.
Toilets are inside: They’re modern, clean and well provisioned, but they can get a bit crowded.
This place is clearly a big favourite with the locals, and it’s not hard to see why. It hums like a well oiled machine, no matter how many people they have to look after.
E. W.
The Regatta staff are awesome!
They are super-friendly – they know how to chat to guests and make them feel at home – and they’re super-efficient too. Chelsea even asked if she could store my gifts and left over cake for me! How thoughtful is that? I definitely recommend The Regatta – it’s a wonderful venue.

Had coffee and a light breakfast on the sidewalk, nice setting, nice food
V. L.
Great pub , we got off the city cat and just walked across the street, great atmosphere .
E. A.
Very nice place. The top for young patrons( Dj)and the bottom ( the walrus club ) is a mix of young and mature patrons(live band). Good cocktails with very skilled bartenders.
T. B.
Food was great. Unfortunately 1.5 hour wait for food. But they forgot our order
H. D.
Nice location. The food is okay!
M. M.
Fabulous food, great venue. We all had a great night out.
L. I.
Exceptional food and service, really nice atmosphere as well. Has a great selection of cuts, toppers and sides.
H. B.
Great atmosphere and decent steak meal on a Wednesday
J. Z.
First visit to the boatshed. Food and service were great! Will definitely be visiting again
C. A.
Always love a cheeky night out at the regatta. Beautiful building with good food and drinks! Definitely check out the walrus bar - super stylish and cool
J.
I held a 50th in the Whiskey Bar part of the Regatta, the food, drinks and staff were fantastic.
J. H.
Still a great place for a drink in a lovely historic building. Thought the lunch menu could be a little more extensive and adventurous. Service was good. Reasonable range of beers on tap.
M. B.
Went there on Tuesday evening 15/12/2020, with 10 family, friends, and (one assistance dog). This was our first time at restaurant. Food and service were fantastic, could not fault anything. The bill at the end of the night was also pretty good for a group of 10, which included all drinks, we will definitely be back
K. F.
Beautiful family lunch ,service ,steak and wine simply perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday.
P. C.
Loved the food and drinks as always though bit noisy - a small inconvenience. Another seafood option on the mains menu would make it perfect.
j. i.
Love this pub. The historic basement is now open as a bar. Great food. Check out the flood level markers on the corner post outside indicating Brisbane's major floods since the 1800s.
P. D.
Fantastic dinner at the Boatshed, steaks were absolutely fantastic and delicious! Customer service was well above par. Very busy but the turnaround is fantastic.
J.
Great iconic Brisbane pub
Great atmosphere
Brilliant cuisine to cater for all budgets
Great music and staff
M. P.
Outstanding food and service, great vibe in the restaurant. Tomahawk steak was a standout. Angus looked after us superbly. Can’t wait to come back!
N. H.
Great location. Food was excellent but very slow coming out. Boat shed prices excessively high compared to other areas of the hotel and compared to similar places. Staff pleasant.
T. W.
If you have a bar run the bar not half a bar
I had to go to the other end of the bar to get service then walk back to the other end were I was because that is were my beer tap was to get a beer
s.
Wait staff are just the best. We were served by a wonderful waitress. And drinks after by Brad (C). THAT is the service that really makes the regatta the best!
Awesome food from the chefs and the BEST SERVICE!
S. C.
Have been twice and in both occassions we felt very comfortable. Staff are well trained and the food is well prepared. Although it is a pricey place, it is worth it. Highly recommend their meat and the gnocchi.
N. C.
Lovely meal at the boatshed and drinks downstairs at the walrus club. Really good steak and service was great.
G. R. P.
Great ambience, good selection of drinks, loved the lounge area
K. D.
Great food, delicious drinks, buzzing atmosphere and music. My girlfriend and I came on a Friday afternoon and within half an hour the place is packed. Their refreshing Sangria Jugs was worth the money and the staff at the bar are really friendly. We will be returning again x
A. H.
We went to the Boatshed for our anniversary. We had starter of fried calamari, which was beautifully soft inside with a nice light crumb. Eye fillet and aged porterhouse were delicious, as were the apple and rhubarb and the lime cheesecake we had for dessert. If I was being picky I might say that the cheesecake could have had a little more lime, but I would still
order it again. Good service and good price for the quality of food. Looking forward to coming back!
s. p.
Recently had a function with 30 people upstairs in the Winterford room. Event manager Chelsea was so helpful and catered to all our needs. Our bar manager Karen made the event 10 times better with her enthusiasm plus shes a great photographer. Thankyou!
T. S.
Nice location, on the ferry line. Clean utilities, tasty menu, and a bar-tending staff that’s game to try making our drink requests (we asked for Singapore slings even though they weren’t on the menu, they had the ingredients and gave it their best shot!)
A nice place to catch up with friends
R. J.
Went for lunch with the family. The food and service was great.
R.
Good food great place to catch up with friends!
L. E.
Great for a feed or a few drinks. There's quite a few different areas so there's something for every mood.
D. M.
Amazing Steak last night, fantastic Coffee and Chocolate / Coconut Muffin this morning.
J. T.
We had best chicken burger, good service and good quality. Had wonderful time and experience at Regatta Hotel.
E.
Well priced steak amazing service everything tasted good
A. S.
A historical Brisbane hotel and the birthplace of women's right to drink in a public bar.
The food at the Boathouse is exquisite highly prized for it's steaks though a tad overpriced.
J. D.
Service was lovely, great vibe, my oysters were amazing but my steak was a little on the chewy side, but still enjoyable !
E. H.
Slightly overpriced for me. The mulled wine was great first try. Second glass was missing something. And to me the band left a lot to be desired. But can't be happy all the time
M. S.
Great atmosphere. Attentive staff. Delicious steaks.
D. S.
Fantastic Iconic Brisbane venue.
So much to choose from 🙂
Food on so many levels, bars, entertainment. Loved it
A. S.
Loved it. This place has several areas, including a very niche downstairs bar which will cater to your every taste in cocktails.
M. Z.
A well appointed Pub with a good menu and extensive array of alcohol to choose from. Pleasant atmosphere, but not that close to the city to make it convenient to get to. Well worth the visit.
N. S.
Great place to be on a Friday evening, fab tunes and energetic environment. Only small issue was that we had ordered a pizza that was forgotten about and then finally brought after an hour, and the loaded fries were rather anticlimactic considering the price.
S. C.
I only had coffee... someone else's coffee but it was nice
M. h.
Went there fo a longish lunch.Service was great as was the food.
M. J.
Good food, great service and amazing ambience. Had a good time. Pork loin and Lemon cheese cake was yumm. Highly recommended. Thanks for the lovely hospitality!
P. S.
Good relaxed vibe and plenty of areas to explore. Perfect pizza makes it an ideal stop for a relaxed drink and snack to mark the end of the work week
S. M.
Good service, good food, a great spot to have lunch and relax!
G. Q.
Wonderful Father's Day lunch at the Regatta Hotel, excellent table service prompt and very polite.
D. B.
Very small meal for the price paid, went home with a empty belly
S.
Wow! What a great dining experience for all. If you enjoy steak and red wine, well this place is definitely for you. The service is quick and efficient. They know what they are doing and do it well. You can even watch your steak being cooked over an.open grill facing the dining area. It's really cool. Dessert is one of my favorite parts of dinner not really sure why it has to be last. Humm maybe a dessert first dinning place would be cool.
P. F.
Best steak house in BNE leaves the Norman for dead. No packet sides here. Service is great and prompt clean and friendly. Great service great value.
T. K.
The service was quick and friendly, the environment was clean. Super popular place, be sure to make a booking.
Veronica served us and was so sweet the entire night, she was such a pleasure. We'd definitely come again for a meal and drinks.
K. D.
Fantastic customer service, we held our work function in The Walrus bar, all the staff were extremely polite and friendly, the food was excellent and great portions sizes. Highly recommend for all functions 10/10 on service and food !!!
K. K.
Excellent place to meetup with friend and chill. Food is excellent and wide variety of choices. Staff is very friendly. Plenty of free parking around and also close to transport. It get really busy on Friday nights.
A. M.
The steaks are amazing. Had the dry rump cap and also tried the rib fillet. And the red wine sauce was a real treat too.
d. n.
This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool and the staff is also really friendly. Food is pretty good, and what a beautiful presentation by chef Suman and all staffs are amazing. Will visit Regatta soon!
G. L.
Great food and great service. Only got a photo of the drinks as we ate the food too quick
E. W.
Great food served by friendly staff, in a lovely iconic Brisbane hotel.
G. G.
Fantastic great service atmosphere and super yummy food, they even supplied a free rainbow😁
K. S.
Absolutely adore this place! So many different areas with various vibes. Amazing finger licking food! Fire place. Indoor/outdoor garden space. Restaurants galore. DJ's and bands.
K. I.
I had a really unpleasant experience with one of the bartenders, but once I voiced my opinion one of the other bartenders was SO Lovely and would do anything to make it up to us. It meant so much to our group considering we had spent so much money. It meant a lot to our group and it showed they care about the customers wellbeing! We love your establishment and will definitely be back ❤️❤️❤️
S. H.
Had a delicious lunch with excellent service. Relaxed space and great food.
J. S.
We came in for lunch today.. I haven't been in years and was not dissapointed:) we sat in the public bar area and I had the Vegan power bowl and it was genuinely amazing. Great service, excellent fit out and clean amenities.
Id highlight the fact that the staff were extremely well presented. Its clear the VM holds all staff accountable for a tidy appearance and excellent service and they delivered today. Everyone was engaging and friendly, tidy and well on top of clearing tables and prompt service.
Generally TAB areas get neglected and are messy but even that space was attended to consistently.
Im usually really critical of such large sites as its hard to tick all the boxes but management got this one right👏👏👏
P. B.
Great old historic Bris pub that we visit regularly and have done for 20 years or more. One comment i can make which we would like the manager to look at is the noise level of music in the bar on a Sat or Sun afternoon. Generally speaking its just to loud for a few beers and a chat with mates. After 5 or 6pm in the day i get it, however between 12 (lunchtime) and then i dont think the management get it. The bar staff are apologetic and polite when we complain about it and agree its a common afternoon complaint. But say they can't alter the volume.
Other than that, keep up the good work, its a great place. (Auchenflower local)
G.
Came here for the valentines day lunch and left really underwhelmed.
Service was fragmented, poor and slow.
Entrees were ok, steak was very overcooked and the dessert was really bad.
I really can't recommend this place, nor do I have any desire to return.
J. Y.
A very delicious breakfast with great atmosphere and lovely staff around ♡♡♡
Can’t wait to go back again !!
G. F.
Outstanding service...mouthwatering steak..an array of cockrails and made correctly....great music....a great all rounder!!!! Thank u guys♥️
L. A.
Beautiful historical hotel. Delivers on promises. Steps away from City Kat.
R. t. R.
Amazing food, amazing service, would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for an amazing night with a beautiful date or with friends!
We were celebrating my partners birthday, the staff were friendly, provided excellent service and their own fun sense of humour to the night.
Especially Anissi (Annassi?) and I believe Sandra, but I’m afraid I didn’t think to check her name tag before leaving. In any case, we will remember them both!
L. T.
Beautiful! I really enjoyed the beef steak I had.
J. T.
Third visit blues! I've always enjoyed the location and atmosphere but found the service very very slow. My first steak was ordered medium and came out overcooked and just okay. Second time I tried for
med/rare and it was still dry and overcooked. Third time lucky and went for rare and again it was grey and overcooked. Each time I ate it but also mentioned it to the staff. No one seemed worried. Unfortunately, we wont be back for a fourth over cooked steak at a steak house.
K. R.
Has been decked out nicely with their makeover from a few years back. Prompt service at the bar and in the restaurant, of which had some very tasty, well cooked meals.
Only gripe I had with the venue was the lineup to the dancefloor and Walrus room, where to go to the toilet one has to line up again, I can understand it is a means to have a flow of people in/out. But to move from the Walrus room to the dancefloor, you again get booted to line up again, which I think is ridiculous. As a new patron to the venue, I spent 20mins in line, went downstairs to the Walrus room for literally 2mins and saw it was rather quiet and not for me, so went back upstairs towards the dancefloor only to be booted and told to line up again!
Suffice to say, I will only venture their again for the restaurant, as to have a dance it is not the place to be for anyone who has a drink then needs amenities.
G. P.
The boat house was very nice great steaks
T. M.
The bar here is phenomenal - both the walrus club downstairs & the outdoor / indoor seating upstairs are classy, usually pretty clean and make a decent cocktail.
What really let's this place down is the food - it takes about 40 minutes on average, and despite having pretty high prices pub grub it's often greasy or overcooked.
Steer clear of the food though, and youre sure to have a great time here.
Staff are always lovely.
A. M.
We love the Boatshed and have enjoyed many wonderful dinners there, but tonight deserves a special mention. Beyond the great menu, perfectly cooked steaks and desserts worth fighting each other for, the service was sensational. Every person who greeted us was brilliant: polite, attentive, friendly and helpful. The Boatshed has cultivated a great team who complement each other and the person who really made our evening special was Jay. Jay, you have perfected the art of ensuring your customers are never left wanting and you have a gracious and kind manner. Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience and we hope to see you again soon.
M. G.
Great place with some amazing history and almost synonymous with Brisbane.. pleasently surprised by the average prices considering its location in an upmarket suburb with river views.. food tasted great, really good selection of wines as well.. much recommended
M. T.
Thanks to Rita for the fantastic job she and the events team have done in organising our son's 21st. The Regatta is where we celebrated his 18th and my 50th - It is where we celebrate all the events that matter to us as a family.
K. M.
Love the place , lots of space and seating areas
m. a.
Had a 50th Costume Birthday in the Winterford room. The staff from initial planning to the event night were faultless. Venue itself perfect, food was spot on.
F. V.
One of the sweetest spots in Queensland for any time of day dining or social events crisp cool XXXX 🍺
P. H.
Lunch with family. Not crowded nor rushed, easy seating, friendly waiting. Great huge hunks of meat on display next to open kitchen. We ate various steak options, preceded by oysters, a bit overpowered by sauce. Steaks were nicely done also some of us had the market fish which seemed to be barramundi. Overall a very enjoyable lunch washed down with fine red wine.
A.
A Brisbane icon, the Regatta Hotel is a great place to have a cold beer and watch the world go by on a Friday afternoon . One thing that dissappoints me though, is their total lack of communication when you try to ring them. You leave a message and they never get back to you, (as I had done twice) Great place for a casual beer, however I would not book anything there in case I had to contact them later to make a change, They would not return your call, (from my experience).
S. O.
Had the Bruschetta, steak with added bug and side of greens- Everything was just perfect! Serious food coma afterwards. Service was great! One of my favourite places
W. K.
Great beers on tap. You can sit inside or out and listen to music while enjoying a meal. I had the Regatta Beef Burger and it was amazing. I don't think I have tasted a better burger anywhere. My wife had the calamari and she loved that too. A fantastic spot that I would highly recommend.
K. S.
From a refreshing beverage on the verander over looking the river. To a beautiful dinner in the boat house. The Regatta has it all. Love staff. Plenty of beer to choose from on tap and the wonderful staff will remember your order the second and third time you go back for a re fill. We had a lovely night with our friend from inter state.
Don't forget the Rum bar down stairs. If you want a nice drink to end your night. It's the bar for you. Classy and moody. I loved it.
Its the first time I had been. I really enjoyed it.
M. T.
We have eaten at the Boat House restraunt several times and we have had a great experience and a fantastic meal every time. My wife has a lot of allergies and we find it very challenging to go out and get a meal. The staff at the boat house have been wonderful at accommodating her allergies and creating both a wonderful experience for her and a great meal. I can highly recommend them to anyone.
C. H.
I love the Regatta, such a beautiful old building with great character and sympathetically extended. Recent trip was for breakfast and can thoroughly recommend the big breakfast, yum.
s.
Very nice pub. Amazing range of drinks from around the world. Food is top notch. Relaxed atmosphere.
S. M.
Legendary hotel, excellent decor, Sunday entertainment, plenty of clients with lots of eye candy and on the river. Well worth a visit and have a beer, recommended!!
P. J.
We had a lovely breakfast with great coffee, blueberry pancakes and Spanish omelette I would highly recommend them to everybody.
First time we had breakfast here after been here many times for dinner and beers and it was absolutely worth the stop.
I would recommend you coming here for your nightly dinner because it's very nice to enjoy your food and in this great setting.
Staff has always been very friendly and helpful.
Cheers
J. G.
The Sunday sessions from 3pm are fantastic in spring and summer!
N. J.
Coupla wines with my girl nice quiet evening. Everyone relaxed. Nice
A. H.
Great service very professional and friendly, food was nice, dessert was delicious
M. J.
Great place for a drink on a Friday or lunch/dinner as well. Food is great, not much of a vegan range but what they do have is still pretty Damn good. The falafels are amazing.
Service has always been good everyone here. Staff operate at a very high quality! Would recommend.
M. B.
Kieran and his crew down in the Walrus bar were amazing. The cocktail Kieran created was amazing and delicious, real talent.
Food in Boatshed was so good. Me and my partner were really happy with everything. Thank you Lee, you to were great!
A. D.
Great pub. Well laid out with a good beer selection. Although I've not dined here, the food going out looked super yummy.
C. B.
Views of the river, magnificent meals, excellent beer garden , brilliant staff. What more could you ask for?
M. H.
Cheers for supporting the UQMS. I'm going to make this my local.
M. O.
Great staff Great selection of drinks and food
T. G. G.
This place has always been pretty good. Staff are quality. Actually friendly and knowledgeable. Great viewing pleasures inside as well as outside with walkers and runners ect. Anyway well worth it. Enjoy.
T. L.
Great location esp as we don't want to go all the way into the CBD or Valley. Great bar snacks. Unfortunately, everytime we go there, the music in pub areas is always too loud, hard to have a normal discussion. The pavement seating area needs proper presuure cleaning, very very dirty.
C. S.
Food was tasty, and the service was slendid!
L.
Staff were very polite and accommodating for dietary requirements. We did not have a booking and there was a table available. Meals were delicious and drinks nice and cold. Good place for a group of people small group. Restaurant was clean.
J. T.
Went for lunch, thought there could've been
more lunchy things like perhaps toasties especially if you don't want a large lunch. Service was great, ordered and paid online which I thought was great. Have been a few times.
M. D.
The share plates were not the best, and the service took a little while but we went there during the busy lunch period. The drinks were great and their steak even made someone like myself who doesn't usually enjoy a lot of meat finish the entire thing.
S. C.
Classy place. Covers all things you're looking for Inna day or night out
H. T.
Great place for drinks with friends or a catch up with family. The whiskey room has the perfect atmosphere and is a relaxing setting. Perfect for catching up with people or for those nervous first dates
F. T.
Great appartement,great location
S. T.
Went with a group for a birthday dinner celebration and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and time here. Tried ordering two bottles of wine from the menu both of which were not available which was a little disappointing but we still managed to still find something nice to drink. A good location and atmosphere.
E.
I’ve always loved my meals at the Regatta, and the staff have great banter. Had some of the best cocktails ever here a few months back. Beautiful decor and good live music.
A. R.
Great atmosphere and nice cold beer.
M. L.
Went here for a work meeting, using the conference facilities upstairs. Breakfast meeting, coffee was good (I think from the cart outside) and the breakfast was good for catering for a large meeting
K. R.
really nice seating outside and live music (russ walker is amazing). no fuss getting drinks from the bar and the food is really yum. recommend the pizzas and sweet potato fries. great place for catch up with friends.
G. T.
Fantastic meal and service
Great deserts
G. C.
Great spot to catch up with a good friend. Good food, cold beer, friendly staff and not too noisy. Plenty of room to allow social distancing and they are taking their COVID responsibilities seriously. 👍
T. O.
We visit the Boatshed regularly and the meals are consistently high quality using the freshest ingredients. The Chefs are awesome and should be commended on the quality of the food.
B. T.
Brielle and Hayden were the most professional bartenders in the world. Attitude and work ethic is on point and I highly recommend Regatta Hotel as your hangout drinks :)
L. S. (.
Overall great place for larger groups. Service from our waiter was pretty good although at first the manager of the restaurant was a bit grumpy at us. "Last night in Cuba" was the highlight. Food was decent.
K. M.
Perfect steak and great staff. I love it when the staff are so good that your drink is never empty for more than a couple of minutes.
W. B.
One of the greatest bars I've ever been to in my life, Will the bartender is amazing and I would highly recommend his bartending and expertise. Very impressed!
M. R.
Dylan was quite new but very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.
E. S.
Such a good steak sanga!
T. D.
Delicious steak for sure. Impossible to fault the food, came medium rare, exactly as requested. Only detrimental issues were the absurdly long wait (over 45 minutes) for food to arrive, and the noise of the venue. Not recommended for a quiet conversation, but if it's great steaks your need, look no further!
A. M.
The service was great. Meals excellent. The rump was so tender & full of flavour.
B. J.
10/10 Delicious food, the beef was so tender and the flavors including the sauces were to die for!!! Great atmosphere, super busy but well managed! The staff were all pleasant and seemed happy to be working! :)
We will be back! Thank You!
A. D.
Wedding reception was perfect, Rita and all staff were very helpful. Food was delicious, I'll definitely recommend this venue. Veranda is great, lots of craft beer from good breweries.
J. D.
Very nice venue and the service is excellent. Food is good quality.
R. D.
Was looked after perfectly by the Functions Team at Regatta. Room was clean and the food was plentiful. Only issues we had was with regard to WiFi. Thank you to Rita and the Team.
M. L.
The Boatshed would have to be the best restaurant in Brisbane. Extremely high quality location, food and service. Last night I tried the vegan option which was outstanding and much better than the photo represents.
R. I.
It's a lovely bar with a character. Downstairs you can find a cool bar with brick wall and cool atmosphere. From Thursday to Sunday you can enjoy the live music while drinking a cinnamon smoked rum. The bartenders are very creative and knowledgeable when it comes to cocktails so don't be shy asking for recommendations.
A. K.
Thanks to Ruby and staff. 2 b'days and lovely ambience. Fab service! The rib was a hit and the seafood linguini was perfect!

Had my son’s 18th dinner with family and friends at The Boathouse tonight. Fantastic service, particularly with a big group - thank you Emily! Nothing was too much hassle. Food was on point - steaks, seafood fettuccine, lamb racks, fish - all cooked and presented to perfection.

The boatshed at the regatta usually does great food. Their steaks are good and salmon is really nice. It's always very busy which means it can be quite loud at times, but the venue itself is beautiful. Some of the tables for two are seated quite close together, which can be a little off-putting when trying to enjoy a nice meal. The staff are good, very attentive. The bars are also very busy, but there's a wide range of options as there are a few of them. Parking can be difficult.

Everybody's meal was excellent.

Regularly dine here and the steak keeps getting better !! 6 stars !!

Amazing Steak and great service!

We had a 25th Birthday Party at The Regatta Hotel in the Gailey function room last Saturday night and it was a huge success - loved the location, venue and the service - everyone was very helpful. The food came out as it was suppose to and the bar service went very well.
A special thanks to Rita for organising this night for us - it was very much appreciated. Will definitely hold another function here.

Love this place! Great stake and the menu has lots of options. Can be a bit noisy depending on who is dining there.
M.
Decent place to hang out and have a few.

I’ve dined before but it’s time I put a review up! Went into this fine establishment recently, and cannot say I am nothing but impressed! The bars, the outside dining ontop of their beautiful Boatshed’s steaks was wonderful!
Having a huge broad drinks menu especially! After having a nice dry aged steak ontop of a drink! I headed into their pokies where I was greeted by a young gentleman named Pat, he was very nice to talk to and I noticed he was a newer employee as well, since coming here a few months back I’ve noticed a nicer change within the Gaming and service compared to most staff!
Will definitely be back for more!

Nice cold beverages on a warm afternoon

Definately had better tavern food (ate at sports bar area). Had a grilled chicken burger at lunchtime midweek. Very dry, clearly reheated. Chicken was unseasoned and boring. Couldn't tell if there was cheese but there was supposed to be. Other than my complaints with the chicken it was a generous chicken portion but stingy veges. Fries were great and aioli dip was great. Facilities were in excellent condition. Staff friendly and helpful.

One of the best meals of my life last night. I had the lamb rack (avsolabsol amazing), and shared the sides of confit mushrooms, and roast pumpkin with goats cheese.
Taylor was a lovely waitress who paired me with a great wine. I'm quite picky with wines so it was great that she got it with the first recommendation.
Dessert was the macadamia caramel tart, and it was phenomenal. Live for that dessert. Will definitely be back!
S. S.
I'm giving the Regatta 3 stars because we have been denied access to the main bar twice due to them booking out the the place, parking is terrible, the girl in the pokies room has very poor customer service skills and should not be working with the public if she can not hide her rudeness at least. On a good note! The main bar has amazing and knowledgeable staff who are always pleasant, the range of wine and cocktails are good and the food is decent.

Really cool pub with a variety of rooms. The "dancefloor" area can get too crowded on a Saturday night, so not always the best option if you want a night of dancing. The other areas offer plenty of variety and space to hangout with friends. Note, the various areas start closing around midnight or 1 am, with the whole place closing at 2 am.

Have been to the Regatta a couple of times lately for functions and it has not disappointed. Good selection of food and drinks and the bar and wait staff are all very friendly. Beautiful old building with loads of character and good temperature for the Brisbane climate.
R. L.
The Boatshed was great. I had a Beer Battered Barramundi. I usually don't like fish but that was good. I recommend it to anyone because the service is great.
S. Z.
River road Cafe has a great location and a good coffee. A bit high prices for breakfast but you would like the outdoor seats.
We enjoy the coffee this early morning, it's our regular now before starting the day.
D. L.
Large and expansive joint with plenty of dining, drinking and gaming options. Hit up the boathouse for a particularly special steak dinner or head downstairs into the corridors under the hotel to check out the cocktail walrus bar underneath - great fun
D. N.
Had breakfast , food and coffees lukewarm , bit noisy and fumes from cars
D. P.
Had dinner, nothing but excellence from food to the staff.
T. A.
BB Factory playing last night was great 😊
J. M.
We went for the Laphroaig dry aged sirloin and we were not disappointed. The jus was amazing. We also had the Hervey Bay Scallops and the lamb belly and pulled lamb croquette. The food and service were great and we're looking forward to going back.

Good service, nice atmosphere, meals were ok. The steaks however were quite disappointing, apparently aged we ordered them medium rare - of course the “doneness” of steak is very open to interpretation from chef to chef, however this was charred and then uncooked and tough just under the surface. Rare to bleu by any standard even cold in the middle.
Upon leaving we were asked how our meals were, I said 2 were great, entree’s were good however the steaks were really quite bad.
In response we got a laugh and a ‘oh come on guys...’ and a bill.
So I would not recommend the steak.

A great place for scattered old friends to gather...

Nice restaurant, iconic name. Just across the road at Regatta station/Junction if you reach here by the Brisbane river ferry service. Food was superb. Price is a tad higher, but cant complaint. Very beautiful ambiance. Good service. Recommend a visit...
M. P.
Great location and atmosphere, versatile place to celebrate different occasions from the restaurant to main bar to walrus club beneath. Food is excellent, love the seasonal menu changes whilst keeping the classics, and service is consistently good. Definitely a Brisbane icon!

Went to the Boatshed for Sunday lunch. Ordered drinks. Mojito was lovely, but I ordered a dry vodka martini, with a twist. Got a gin martini with lemon juice..even after I was asked if I wanted it 'shaken or stirred'. Oysters arrived promptly and were lovely. As we did not want a heavy lunch we ordered 3 starters - prawns, scallops and beef shortrib. 1.15 hours later (we didn't complain..but c'mon guys) the food arrived. All ok, but reason to come to this restaurant is steaks- which we shall come back for. Dessert..another 30 minutes. Apple crumble ok and citrus dessert excellent. Will come back again but guys - please work on proper service. Wait is too long and the restaurant was not busy.
I. H.
Other than the Aircon freezing us out, the meal was as anticipated, just a bit better than standard pub grub. There are much better local alternatives than offer better value and quality, however the ambience here is quite good.
E. N.
Look, the bar itself is pretty nice but the patrons all look like they’re paying for their drinks with their daddy’s credit card who also bought their RM Williams boots. The most recent time I went it was all fresh 18 year old private school boys and they kept smashing their glasses on the floor once they finished their drink. No thanks
L. M.
Goooood steaks! Aged beef, hung where you can see it. A variety of cuts and farms to choose from- grass and lot fed. Nice surrounds and good service. Great for a group. Don’t remember having a long wait. Bars outside to head into once fed. All round great destination.
J. B.
It was ok. We were in a group of about 10. The meals were nice but on a Sunday lunch the service was slow. (More than 15 minutes for drinks over an hour for mains .... after the delayed drinks etc). The service was friendly. I think there was something wrong in the kitchen that service period as the steak I received I don't believe was the steak ordered... it was also medium to medium well rather than rare. That being said it was still a nice steak. The meals are expensive and the steaks come with a carb but not a salad or other component... so an expensive steak becomes a more expensive meal when you add an appropriate side. Sure it's nice ... but for the $ maybe it's not good value.
B. P.
$30-50 for a steak. But the dry aged I had was amazing and well worth it. I enjoyed the busy atmosphere and service. Would recommend it to a friend.
M. P.
Great service, great ambience, great food.
j.
My first time at the Regatta. Beautiful old historic pub on the river. A nice lunch, quality suitable to price. A bit more friendless from the bar staff and it would have been a top lunch.
T. M.
Once again, your bar mananger Adam is honestly the best guy, he shows nothing but discipline for his role in customer service and is always attentive for his patrons, everytime I have been here he makes sure that we are well looked after and goes above and beyond what is expected. Absolute top bloke. 10/10 service.
S. W.
I have eaten in many 5 star restaurants in my life. But, this restaurant is hands down the best meal I have ever had. The staff were amazing and the food was incredible. If I could give it 10 stars I would.
G. M.
Fantastic place as usual love the garden area and the pizza's were great.
Atmosphere fantastic and a Covid Safe and well managed venue
L. B.
The Boatshed lived up to the expectation of a good place to get a good steak
S. M.
Breakfast Eggs Benedict very nice. $4 for a side of 2 mushrooms (although tasty and fairly big) a bit over the top. All up though yummy breakfast.
D. F.
We will most definitely be making the Boatshed a regular meeting place when we are in Brisbane to see our eldest who just started Uni in Brisbane. As country people good quality beef really really matters. This impressed. And at prices we consider reasonable. The staff were fantastic. The ambience of the venue was so inviting, welcoming & comfortable I’m already imagining long leisurely winter lunches, sipping red, fires burning, seated in the timber cubicles near front windows & watching rain fall as we savour aged beef with our eldest. What could possibly be better??
C. C. U.
Good place, heaps of levels with different environments
C. P.
My fave Brisbane restaurant, always a brilliant meal and great service. Love it.
D. P.
Nice atmosphere and a new addition. Parking in area is poor but you get that in the city.
Food and choices were good but salad or vegies not standard and have to be ordered separately. I am not a fan of that idea. Steak was good, not the best I have had, and I feel value for money it was good.
They have local beer on tap, and some other craft beers. Finally pubs are moving away from just xxxx & vb.
P. G.
I never write reviews but taking 8 people to dinner to celebrate a birthday at The Boatshed was a very good idea. I Had seen the negative reviews so had low expectations but my son wanted to go for the steak.
We had a variety of dishes and every one received high praise. The oysters were wonderfully fresh as well. It was also good to see Micheal who some of us remember from excellent restaurants he ran in the 70s. As someone who ran restaurants myself I suspect he has been brought in to bring his experience to what appeared to be some rather inexperienced waiting staff. Great food!
J.
Great food and atmosphere!
This place is a great upscale place for a celebration, but the food is quite expensive. And has very limited options for those not wanting steak.
V. S.
Great location and a beautiful old pub. Food is good and a decent drinks menu although would like to see some greater range in craft beers.
S. H.
Our local. Particularly great with a Sunday afternoon band.... Very very friendly and the pups love it too
B. G.
Good food, excellent environment and the bonus is you can go for a dance after your meal.
R. G.
Great location near the bikeway for a coffee break.
C. L.
This is a revised review, order the tomahawk. Yes it's pricey but if you appreciate a good steak this will blow your mind. The Boatshed is now my staple for dead cow and each time is cooked over flame to perfection. The only hesitation i have to go with 5 stars is the level of service is better at other establishments. This does not mean that the service is bad, it's a busy family environment and therefore a little patchy at times.
C. D.
This place used to have the best steaks in Brisbane. Since the refurbishment I'm not sure if they managed to keep the same head chef but the quality of the food is very hit and miss. Still occasionally get a good steak but not as good as they used to be. Would not be rushing here if looking for a good steak at a good price.
K. S.
One of my favorite pubs in Brisbane, never really fails. A few quiet beers on the verandah is always a good arvo well spent. Food is pretty good, touch on the pricey side though, but I'd guess on par with most pubs these days. Also good for a coffee, they do a pretty good breakfast on the footpath. Worth a look if you're around.
J. P.
The hotel is quite beautiful and dinner in The Boatshed was amazing! The meals were lovely but what made the night was our incredible waiter Brad aka "Daveleigh"!!! We had an absolute 10/10 evening. Thank you so much.
S. T.
Fantastic steak. Fantastic waiter. Sorry. I can’t remember your name. Couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience.
G. V.
At 145 years of age, this hotel has it all - charm with grace and history. From an
Early morning coffee at the River Road Cafe, drinks & cocktails in Merle's Bar or the Courtyard, a fantastic lunch or dinner in the
Boatshed Restaurant, or one of over 200 worldwide Rums in the Walrus Bar downstairs, plus occasional live entertainment, and very nice staff, catch the City - Cat or Train so that you don't drink & drive.

Josie was a very lovely welcoming attendant. I watched her deal with and resolve multiple situations with both sober and very intoxicated people. I wasy very sad to hear she is leaving.
J. T.
Food is good. So is the service.
And this wine is beautiful!

My family have been to the Regatta many times since it opened. I have rated it as perfect in the past but lately that has not been the case. For example we went to the boatshed, five children and six adults last Friday night Sept. 28.The children were well looked after with their colouring in which they love. All the menus were taken at the same time. Drinks were attended to promptly. ONE HOUR LATER the food came to the table. Generally most of us were not happy because of this long time frame / delay and for the children this was even more unacceptable. The children's package includes desert but time was marching on and as a consequence they decided to do without. They have long memories and will probably share their story with the whole playground when they return to school. For the adults and again because of the long food delay none of us were unable to have deserts, coffees and or a second drink. If people go out to dinner they want to be looked after...this was not the case in this instance. The Regatta would also have lost a considerable amount of money because of their poor service in this instance.
B. Y.
Thank you so much to Rita, Noah and the team there at the Regatta. We celebrated my 40th in the Thornton room and everything was sensational. The service, food and drinks were all a 10/10.
D. M.
Long wait for a tough steak. Honestly tough for a $45 steak. Was cooked rare (as recommended). Told the waitress it was abit tough and she said I need to cut it a certain way..go figure..
M. M.
Meals were excellent but staff were a bit run off their feet! Otherwise highly recommend! Beautiful old building full of old world charm! The whisky bar was the highlight!!
P. L.
Food, service and setting all excellent. The quality of the steak I ordered was superb. Also very good vegetarian dishes although a few more options would be better.
A. H.
Great stop for a decent lunch and good atmosphere. Plenty of seating in all different areas. It's definitely a bit more fancy than the traditional pub lunch but still really tasty!
D. W.
I come to the Regatta pretty often, it's normally a pretty good venue. The food is tasty, the selection of beers is great and the fittings in the bar are quality and create a great atmosphere. The guitarist they have in the beer garden on Friday's recently is really talented and definitely contributes to the vibe.
I had a rather negative experience with security recently. We were in a large group and one of the people in our group was ejected from the venue rightfully so, the security guard then came back and singled out another person in our group for being "too intoxicated". The individual in question was not being loud, offensive, was certainly not intoxicated and left the venue without fuss. The security guard when challenged on why he was removing this individual proceeded to make up false reasons for the ejection. It's a bit unprofessional and has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. I hope it doesn't happen again.

Yes A Lovely Place To Meet Friends & Enjoy A Nice Time Or A Feed While Watching The Footy? "Exceptionally Friendly Staff!!!"
D. K. (.
I have been here twice. No 1 - I was twenty and I was with a.... well. A randy young man. He was on the prowl. He wanted to meet a nice young girl. Or any girl really. He wasn’t picky. Alas, the girls were and he went home alone. Anyway, we drank a fair bit and my memory is pretty hazy. I remember thinking I had nothing in common with any of the people there, but really we were all drunk together so we had that. No 2 - I was in my mid thirties and it was a family reunion of sorts. My father kept buying bottles of expensive champagne (which he cannot afford), because he was in a good mood and we were all having fun. I had a grand time, and drank far too much, and then had to get on a 5am flight to Japan the next day. Boy, was I cranky!
In summary, there is a tree in the building and that is just fine in my book
J. M.
Attentive and friendly function staff, rooms show their age a bit but the balcony and river views are very nice. Great to have access to the rest of the venue as well, perfect for a birthday for 20-30 people.

Regatta Boatshed... always a consistently brilliant dining experience! Food, wine, service... the whole package!
T. B.
My partner and I ate at The Boatshed on Valentines Day, now while the food, atmosphere and waitresses were perfect for the entirety of the experience. getting through the door was a little tough. We had a reservation for 8:15pm, but there was no reservation line and we had to wait for almost 10 minutes while the group in front of us were just looking for a table without a reservation. Another point; the lady at the front desk was not welcoming, we received no "Hello, how are you this evening?" or any general feeling of welcome. As someone who prides themselves on customer service, this was definitely a big pitfall, especially working in the hospitality industry where a customer should feel welcome as soon as they walk through the door. She might have been having a bad night or maybe she was overwhelmed by how busy everything was but it's not an excuse to me, after a brief interaction with no eye contact or pleasantries we were practically palmed off to, thankfully, a lovely waitress (who's name I'm blanking on currently). The food was definitely amazing and everything came out relatively quickly, for a busy restaurant the atmosphere was surprisingly calm with exception to a large table seating a group of elderly women and too much wine. We had a lovely time, the food was great and we would definitely love to go again, just maybe have one of the lovely waitresses man the front desk and some sort of signage with what to do if you have a reservation?

had lunch at the boat shed and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. got the 400g rump for $29 and it was a very nice rump.ordered it MR and that's exactly what I got. the place is very cool, looks like an old boat shed inside. was a bit warm though.

Great spot, good food, club downstairs - tip top go and enjoy yourself in a Saturday night
A. M.
I've had a nice dinner in the steak house, grwat choice of different meats, different races and differentes cuts, great quality, coccked as my desire, nothing to complain, very very good quality. Cozy place with nice music in the the other room
J. H.
Staff and quick and helpful! Amazing atmosphere with different areas for different vibes. Higher end dining in one area, pub style area and even a rum bar downstairs with a speakeasy asthetic. Great for social drinks or functions!
P. N.
BEST STEAK EVER!! great food great service, you pay for it but it’s worth it. Workers are local, not slave labour working on a student visa like the majority of restaurants in south bank.
Will be back again!!
