Absolutely beautiful food. The salmon was to die for. Nice relaxing atmosphere. There is parking at the side and out the back. There are a few bars and a few locations inside to sit down to relax and unwind with friends. There is a pokie lounge. The TAB area is a good size and the front bar can cater for quite a large crowd. The Gabba is located within walking distance and this place is in an excellent position before and after any sporting event.

This place has great specials every night of the week. The meal sizes are big and the food is usually good. They finally have a decent wine on offer. The wine list is a reasonable size but the offerings are generally ordinary - disappointing considering there are so many great wines out there, usually offered in venues for the same price. The beer offerings seem to be much better. Overall, it's a pub with pub fare on offer. Car park is small so depending on the time you go you may have to park elsewhere. The staff is usually friendly, happy and welcoming.

Not a bad pub at all. They have dinner deals which is always good. As well as entertainment like trivia. The bar is a nice layout with separate areas for dining depending on preference. No cider on tap which is a bummer and parking can be a little tricky on a busy night.

I have no idea what to say honestly. In all my time of going out to a nice restaurant... This one is my top number 1 We have come from a south Australia for work and was sent to this place from our hotel cause the chef was out. Upon arrival, we were welcomed so warmly and was happy to seat us in a nice quiet area. The place was so full of colourful energy. The staff were so well mannered and so nice. It was when we sat we had our menus. Now believe me Wednesday and Thursdays are the best days for this amazing place The entree came in such good timing, the crumbed Calamari was so crispy on the outside and the inside would melt in your mouth. The Atlantic salmon was simply the best salmon I have ever had. Crispy skin and so filling... but the desert.... THE DESERT Mango Cheese cake. I have always been a massive lover for Cheesecake but I must say. This will be the only place I’ll have my Cheesecake. Absolutely delicious!!!!! A HIGH recommendation for anyone who wants a good feed and also have amazing staff and chefs that can cook F**king good meals!

Always great food and environment here. Live right across the road and have dinner here once every few weeks. Tonight was a especially great service from Thomas. During our meal he came over and asked if he could get us another drink or even just a water (they don’t do table service so this was out of his way) as noticed we had finished our drinks. Then at the end of the meal he offered to get a takeaway box for my girlfriend who hadn’t eaten all of her meal. She usually goes to the kitchen and asks for one so this was another great service. Not happy with the menu change. It went from a awesome pub with cheap feeds and great specials each night to an overpriced smaller menu. Understand the new owners are trying to build it into a higher quality restaurant, however they have driven people away because they have bumped the price up and reduced the menu. Prices need to be back to pub standard and menu needs to be expanded

I recently held a function for my daughter’s 30th Birthday upstairs in the Function Room. We had approximately 60 guests, mostly of that age group. The platters of finger foods were delicious and enjoyed by all. Gluten free guests were catered for. The bar staff were efficient in providing the wines and beers that I had requested. Leah had done an amazing job in decorating the room, and set up photo slides on the two TVs. I would recommend the upstairs function room for any occasion of 60 plus guests.

Went on a Thursday night for dinner which was two for one mains. The outdoor dining area/beer garden was pretty busy and we picked the last available table which was wobbly. A friendly staff member informed us of another dining area and helped us move our belongings. We ordered chicken parmigianas which were cooked nicely and the plate was a good serving.

Bloody good feed, my steak cooked perfectly (look out Brekky Creek) , and salad was huge (I love salad vs chips ) . Price on par with other steakhouses, but I'm a non drinker so price for soft drink I found this over priced, friendly staff, great service and I could even get to see and thank the cook and kitchen staff for a top feed. Plesant atmosphere, kids welcome, and can hardly hear the pokies (thankfully ) all that was missing was some live music and it would be a 10 out of 10 so I give it a 9/10. Keep up the good work and great friendly staff. I went on a Saturday lunchtime and service was prompt, with no problems, my lady friend was impressed by a pub meal and compared it to a restaurant, it was our 5th date and the 2nd time of eating out, she refered to it a "Hidden Gem" . We will be coming back for another feed/feast very soon. Thank you for the experience.

Great pub for a lazy Saturday afternoon with friends. Try the Schooner Card for ten local schooners for $5.00 each; great value. Food is excellent with the bar menu varied and well priced. Punt at the full service UBET. Staff are great and service prompt. Worth a try!

This is my favourite local. Friendly staff, awesome beer selection and well priced the pub is big with a sports bar, pokies, pool table and beer garden. There is a special every night of the week which can be $15 parmy on Fridays or Wednesday is the chiefs specials. Poker is played here a few nights a week along with trivia and sometimes live music. Attended on a Thursday night for dinner. Sat in the rear dinning area that is quieter than the tables near the bar. When buying off the mains menu the second meal is half price. Huge meals. Tasty too.

Great decor and atmosphere and great weekly specials with a day for everyone. The food was above average with the steak being nice and tender, the potatoes were good and the vegetables were fresh and not frozen. The Parmigana was a good size if only I would recommend not getting the Brie as it hardens and becomes tough on top. It is also a shame they use mozzarella instead of tasty cheese. I would also say that it would be better if the Parmigana did not sit on top of the chips for them to get soggy but overall the taste was good. Service was good and will be going back there again and would recommend if you're look for a good pub with good prices and good food.

Myself and three mates utilized the 2-4-1 main meal offer recently. I got the pumpkin salad which seems to be served without dressing and was all 'round underwhelming for the price. A friend explained his napoli parmy as 'glue'. Not in a rush to go back. EDIT: After sending an email to the below mentioned email address, Blake the Functions, Events Manager from The Shafston Hotel got in touch with me regarding the average experience and offered a free meal and an apology to resolve the issue. I explained that this is not necessary and felt it was an appropriate enough response to make me forget about it. As a result I've changed my rating to reflect the positive customer experience and Blake mentioned that they've taken the feedback on board.

Monday night steak special is the bees knees! - Unfortunately Monday night is no longer steak night. Front bar is traditional and great for a drink after work, beer garden out back is nice open space with quality live music - although quite often the live music is too loud.

well I went around the block about 4 times to get to where I will have to go but had nothing to do it this afternoon as other than driving fast it's the right from where I was driving please... we say just cause we had my phone in my hand so I could just always be taking photosbut then of course I have to be the person you're right..

The food is well priced, generous portion size and has always been very good. Drinks are a bit pricey though.

Went in for the Thuraday night 2 for 1 meal deal, but it wasn't available due to the ashes being on at the Gabba.. So while it was a disappointment this time, it's still one of my favourite pubs in Brisbane.. The food is always great.. Weather it's dinner in the restaurant or having a punt on the horses, the place has an excellent atmoshere.. Always look forward to a trip to the Shafston..

I went to watch the trivia on a Wednesday night and I have to say the host Marky was one of the friendliest and most engaged hosts I've ever seen, he definitely made the show!

Exclusive venue, but luckily I was able to gain entry by greasing the bouncers palm with mostly clean coins found on my long walk from the station. This was due to the outrageous behaviour of so called "Uber" driver whom I attempted to have drive me to this venue. It is fitting that the English translation for Uber is "over": overcharged, overcautious and most of all OVERREACTING!! All I did was attempt manual hand relief on my ailing genitals safely within the confines of the Uber car (which is my god-given right as a law-abiding, tax-paying citizen of Australia). I even did this while sitting in the front seat in plain view so that the driver did not suspect I was up to mischief in the backseat, my wholesome pleasure was on full display to ease his conscience. For my noble gesture, I was rewarded with a stream of Sudanese curses and having mints thrown at me whilst he tried to forcefully extricate me from his vehicle, bruising both my feelings and my flabby body with his strong foreign hands. In conclusion, my grandfather did not die fighting in a war he didn't believe in just so that closed minded xenophobic anti-pleasure bigotmen could run this great nation into the ground. Zero stars Uber!!!
