Great location, nice menu including gluten free options. Lovely wine list. Great place to wind down for a couple of hours. I had the Harrisa prawns, which were lovely but very spicey. I think I'd have a different dish next time or if having the prawns, order either an aioli or sour cream on the side to soothe the burn 😋

Great little bar looking put over Southbank beach area. Went here with friends after an event at the convention centre. Was the first time we had been here and we had a delightful time. Even though they were busy the lady found an area for us. The food was really fresh and reasonably priced for how yummy it is. The live music added an extra element for some fun sing-along classics whilst still being able to have a conversation amongst friends. Will be returning. Highly recommend.

Jane at Southbank Beer Garden was amazingly helpful from the moment we stepped into the bar to organise a client drinks night for Christmas break. Any amendments we had were swiftly sorted out. And Damien on the evening + his staff were great at taking out the food & clearing areas as requested. Love the vegan options, thank you for catering!

Came here for some drinks on my birthday with friends and the staff was absolutely amazing! A lovely bar tender offered me and my friend a free shot and another waiter came over to offer to take some photos for us - along with the music and atmosphere I had an awesome time. Espresso Martini was a little sweet but still taste great. Will be back again!

Great spot to just eat, drink and chill. The view was spectacular. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Service was friendly. Opportunity for improvement would be to bring the two (2) meal orders out together ... 15 minutes between them is a bit long in anyone's language. The young lady did not bring cutlery out with the meals. This ment I had to get up especially to find them myself. Overall 4/5 Quality and Location hard to beat. Regards Mike Soric.

Great spot with a great selection of craft beer. Had the calamari as well as onion rings which were excellent quality and came out quickly. Nice choice of tables in or out of the shade. Great to pop in for a beer straight after a swim in the lagoon. Service is good and they have a small smoking area.

Absolutely unforgettable!! Everyone loved their food! Had salads, steak, chicken etc Had my sister's 18th dinner there & the atmosphere was lovely (Tuesday & pretty chilled), the staff were so friendly & bubbly & it really helped to create a special night. I had the avocado & mango salad & have to say it was the best salad I've had haha It was super filling, almost couldn't eat it all! I'm not normally someone who has salads, but wanted something different... It had rasins & a touch of spice & was amazing! Drinks were amazing, the wine seemed stronger than normal, so that was a bonus 😆 We will be going back again soon! Would recommend!!

Had multiple group bookings here, work functions and birthday parties. The Staff are awesome helpful, though sometimes a bit disorganised. Cake coming out already cut before birthday songs, handing out wrist bands and organising the bar tab on the tills - just minor hold ups on getting stuff done here and there etc... food was great, the aranchini is tiptop stuff. Will be back again.

Got the Butchers platter and it had the best arrangement of meats with Wagyu beef being my favourite of them all. Honey Soy chicken wings were beautiful too. Initially a female bar staff member was incredibly rude, was not listening, making eye contact or putting any effort in to being a decent human being yet alone a customer service employee. She got our order of three drinks wrong; twice and offered no apology or thank you. She should be in dish room. Following this I ordered my drinks to the table so I didn't have to see her again. However, the team of chefs and other service staff were polite, enthusiastic and brilliant to be around.

Organised a large Christmas party at this venue. Amazing atmosphere and very helpful and accommodating event managers. Made the group feel important and supported. We supplied a DJ and there were no hiccups. They had staff onsite to assist setup and troubleshoot when needed. Location superb. Food was nice.

Great outlook, cold beers. The schnitzels are a bit average, quite small really. The pulled pork burger wasn't even pulled pork, just a pattie. Nice place for a drink but you probably want to dine elsewhere.

Great prices, views of the pools and brisbane city, perfect place for a casual date or after work drinks. The view at night is especially beautiful with the lights of the city. Meals are little expensive but you wont find cheap anything in southbank village. I recommend here to relax, let the kids enjoy the pools while you update your Twitter feed.

I have been to the beer garden several times and have found the food to be at a high standard ever single time. The wait times are low and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is great and the staff are always helpful. However due to covid they have this non contact payment option where you can scan this QR code at your table and order from your phone. I was sceptical at the idea at first, but found it to be brilliant!

Our favourite beer garden! A very nice place to visit with the whole family, my son enjoys the free popcorn. 🙂 It is unfortunate though that the Hoegaarden beer is no longer served there, that was a major selling point for me!

Visited the beergarden on a Friday night, the food came quickly and was of mouth watering standard. I even tried some of the other dishes that the rest of my table had ordered and they too, were deliciously done. Excellent food and service, 10/10 would visit here again. My partner and I came here for dinner last night. We waited for a bit for a table to sit at as they didn't have any available yet. We ended up asking to sit at another table just before our food arrived thankfully as the other table was a bit wobbly. I had the classic beef burger whilst my partner had the rump steak. We both enjoyed our meals and drinks. Only negative part was when I was at the bar trying to order a drink when everyone behind the bar seemed to ignore me.

After a hot heavy humid day in the heat visiting the cbd we arrived here for an early dinner with family whilst on visit from NZ, what an awesome place and location the man made beach out front was too cool! It was the 2nd time to come to this place. Last time I brought my Japanese colleague here. Today I went to this place for my Aussie colleague’s farewell. We enjoyed and talked about many things for last years to work with together. It was a Beautiful weather and nice wind today. Garlic bread with additional cheese and bacons was wonderful!! Yummy!

Such an awesome place, especially to host an event at. We had the River Room recently for a party of about 60 people and had the best night we could have asked for. The food, staff and room itself are absolutely amazing and we couldn't have imagined it going any better. A truly great experience. We are so happy we chose Southbank Beer Garden as our venue!

Great location, hovewer is a bit expensive for that reason. I have ordered the Thai beef salad that was full of onion and had too much soy sauce so was too salty. I was super thirsty after all so don't recommend this dish. Everything else I nice including the ambience and the view on the south bank beach and city in the background.

Stopped here for a few drinks after enjoying the open air pool (which is my favourite part about Brisbane). The atmosphere was relaxed, the drinks decently priced, and the food tasty. I was even lucky enough to receive a free Espresso Martini as part of a promotion. Music was a little loud for my taste, but otherwise it was a fantastic place to kill some time while visiting the city.

Great location, beautiful food, amazing view of South Bank and really good value for money. We were a party of three and shared a $95 butchers' platter, which was filled to the brim with steak, sausages, chicken wings and pork tenders, with a massive side of fries. We were so full that wet had to walk a couple of times around the block "penguin style" to digest it. Overall, the total bill came to just about $40 per person for both food and drinks that could have fed us for 2 meals.

Not many places can get a big event like new years right but this place nailed it. Extra staff behind the bar as soon as the package started to stay on top of the rush and the staff were amazing throughout the whole event. They served some tables but not ours, we had to get up and order from the counter, and when you've got elderly family with you the stairs were a issue, and the staff didn't seem overly friendly or interested.

Great service, great drinks but wish they had a bit more of a range of finger foods/appetizers to have while having a drink. Almost always spotless when we go there too :) The only thing we dislike when we go here is sometimes there is too much music going on, like they will have someone playing live, and so will next door, and then there will be someone busking as well, so it feels a bit much. But I'm saying that, I feel like the music played at this venue is the best.

Speaking as someone approaching middle age, I really appreciated the music here; they played two "lighthouse family" songs tonight, I didn't even know there were two lighthouse family songs! Well, as you can imagine when I found out I immediately called all of my friends and family to tell them all about it. 10/10 would recommend. Great ambience, good music, and the bar staff are awesome; Peter, you're a bit of a legend and I'd like to thank you for not pointing and laughing at me.

Great atmosphere and the entertainment was good. The food on the other hand was a let down. My steak sandwich was cold so wasn't the best eating, a friends burger patty wasn't fully cooked ... BUT ... the saving grace was the chips! They were divine! And for our little guest, they even gave a little side dish of gravy for her. I do recommend this place but may try different meals next time.

The venue itself is beautiful and overlooks the beach and river, it's absolutely stunning. They had a vegan burgers on the menu but it was a bit bland and dry, the bread buns weren't that great (I shared with my sister in law and she felt the same). It wasn't terrible just average. Definitely need more vegan options, location is perfect!

Went to Southbank Beer Garden for New Year (2018). A great night, thanks to very busy but always cheerful staff. It was a set-price ticket evening which covered alcohol and food for 4 hours and, in my opinion, was exceptional value. The beer was good (always is) and the food was varied and very nice. There was no long waits to be served, and once again it is worth mentioning that the staff remained cheerful, friendly and professional all night, even when the pressure was well and truly on. The atmosphere was also brilliant, with the location to the river being spot-on to watch the firework shows. Will be there next year, and will be taking friends, without a doubt. Our thanks to all for making it a marvellous way to celebrate the New Year.

I have given 3 stars for the venue location, the food and the value. I withheld 2 stars for the service (or lack there of). We saw a free table from the street and found our way to it. the table had not been cleared from the previous customer so we sat and waited, after a few minutes, I collected up the plates and found a place to put them, then found the wipes that staff used to clean down tables and wiped the table. Then I went and found where the cutlery, menus etc were kept and returned to the table. In that time no staff member attended the table, or asked me what i was doing. The food was good for the price but no better. The location was the only aspect that was notable.

Damn! Those applewood smoked ribs we're definitely worth it. Although it came with a salad and fries just that deep flavour hit the spot. I guess the only thing I can complain about is not having wet wipes to wipe all the sauce from those delicious ribs period off my face.
