We really enjoyed our visit to this local gem. Sitting on the veranda enjoying the breeze and a cold beer and one of the best steak burgers I have had in years. This place is worth a stop as you travel up or down the highway.

Bunch of us rolled up on the harleys for a beer... weren't planning on staying for lunch however the rain had a different plans for us ... so we ended up staying for lunch ...burgers and pizzas... highly recommend food is amazing

Busy little place. Chef was brilliant cooked 55 meals all on his own! Delicious meals too. Very friendly and cheerful bar staff. Lots of items on display to look at throughout the bar too. Loved it, great atmosphere.

The hotel itself is awesome and the camping area too. We thought we would support the hotel by having dinner there. We never write comments about our meals but. We ordered a 300gm and a 200gm rib fillet med rare. The 300gm was fine, the 200gm was not even 100gm and full of gristle and so well done it was tough, burnt and dry. It is one that you wouldn’t even think to put in a steak sandwich. That’s how thin it was. The stir fry veges had been in the wok we think from lunch time and were wilted and so soft they were tasteless and mushy. I would reconsider ordering this if you do decide to eat there. Great place to camp overnight or have a drink during the day.

Great grassy camping area for FREE overnight stay. If you feel like collaborating with them you can buy a drink in the Pub which is quite cheap. They charge for the use of hot shower and charge electronic devices 2'5$

Stopped to have a quick meal. Rustic old hotel next to the highway. Ordered a parmi. Best parmi I’ve had for ages. Had a look at the other meals coming out of the kitchen. Massive steaks cooked to perfection. From now on, this place will be my go to lunch break stop between Mackay and Proserpine.

I loved the atmosphere of this place; staff were friendly and the paraphernalia on the walls was so interesting. Disappointingly, I got massively got gypped on the food. My 3 companions had the fish which looked fresh and beautiful. I ordered the chicken schnitzel which looked and tasted straight out of the box/freezer. $20 to have flat, tasteless crumbed processed chicken meat. You have a great reputation Leap Hotel; don't serve this garbage.

The hotel provides a free grassy area to park a camper or caravan for the night. Unfortunately they were closed when we pulled in for the night and we left before they opened but we were super grateful for the place to sleep and the bathrooms. Road noise wasn't too bad either.

Great place to camp overnight at no cost. Some road and rail noise but to be expected. Take your rubbish home with you (it's the polite thing to do) and Mens toilets are open all night (after pub closes - becomes an All Gender facility).

Located on the Bruce Highway, 15 minutes North of Mackay. This site is a combination of bar, classic bistro and a caravan camping site. The staff are extremely friendly and show pride in their work. The food is reasonably priced for the portion size you receive. I ordered the Crumbed Steak with Chips and Salad, which cost $20. The size of the meal was well worth the 30 minute wait. The chips were fresh, the salad crisp and the steak light and tender. A can of soft drink will cost you $3. The cleanliness is the only let down, with some sort of insect dropping on the floor and in the napkin holder. This was the only cleanliness issue noticed but enough to create hesitation in your mind. If you wish to stop here for a quick break, toilets are available but you will need to pay to use their electricity ($2.50).

Pre warning - there is no Chinese food or Wood fired pizza here. What there is is really good pub food. We had the coral trout - it came as 2 huge fillets with chips and salad and the chicken stack. Great flavours really nicely cooked and super friendly service. Great stop on the highway and the bar is decked out with some hilarious items. Outdoor seating and just a really great vibe. So stop what you are doing and get over there !!

Perfect little spot with beautiful green grass! Some road noise but nothing too bad. Need to get in early, got here at 11am and was pretty full by 3pm. Drinks quite cheap at the pub. 😌

Great little pub that provides free camping overnight and only asks that you buy a meal or few drinks. Quirky and fun place to be with people who obviously enjoy their job. Would recommend to travellers or nomads wanting to break up their trip. Also met some interesting backpackers who were happy to have a chat and share travel stories.

What a beautiful lunch! I had chicken burger, hubby had rib burger and I couldn't stop myself I had to polish off the plate! Portion size was massive and everything was cooked and prepared to perfection! As far as I could see there was one lady in the kitchen and one in the bar but you wouldn't have known because the food and drinks were served very quickly! I will DEFINITELY be coming back! Thank you!
