While visiting War Memorial, we are looking for a nice and cheap food nearby. We found this place, Hopscotch (on Lonsdale Street) They offered the meal deal for $5 pizza (but U have plus a extra drink with this deal) and $10 chicken schnitzel. The food is great and fresh. Pizza paste is thin, tasty. The chicken schnitzel is beautiful and lovely, it's real one, not like factory ones. The paper corn sauce is good. The chip is very crispy. I think it's very good quality and good value, not like those terrible cheap food with no tasty. I give it 4 out of 5 base on quality and value (CP). Suggestion: The waiter should greetings when the customer walking into and tell the customers the special deal before they ask.

Hopscotch has to be one the most talked about pubs of Canberra. A must go to I was told by locals. Unfortunately I didn't see for myself what all the hype about this place was. It did has a good atmosphere but staff where not very helpful. The food we ordered was of good quality but fairly overpriced for pub food. I did like that there was games available for guest to play while enjoying a drink or two :)

Had a great time at Hopscotch on Saturday! We were here multiple times throughout the evening after Jackson made us an amazing cocktail (gin and mandarin). Himself and Rhys made our night really enjoyable, some of the best service we've had in a long time!

Place is crazy busy, love the atmosphere!!! As it’s busy it’s pretty loud however, less of a “have a serious conversation” sort of a place... more of a “hey we are here to kick on” kind of establishment!!! Drinks are not to expensive either which made the afternoon all the better!!!

Decently priced drinks- had the Mulled Cider ($8) and Hopscotch Brown Ale ($10 for a large), and they were good. Winter was still lingering, so everyone was clamoring to sit or stand close to a heater. Not sure how I feel about the nation’s capital using an outdated label for Bingo Tuesdays.

Great beers, cocktails and wines. Food is standard pub grub and not a huge variety thereof. Staff are efficient and service is generally reasonably quick. Outdoors area is very good during summer, they have misting fans. Check the Facebook page for events, although that can be hard to read and confusing.

Hopscotch has become a staple in the last few years of the Braddon social scene, with lots of events and themed nights throughout the year. Food is ok, alcohol range good, although the noise inside can be sometimes overwhelming if your trying for dinner conversation. Regular live music outside and a pretty funky outdoor shopping container bar.

This place has a good vibe and good music, but the bar staff are often rude and the drinks are ho-hum. It's okay for a Sunday or to follow a crowd, but it wouldn't be my first suggestion to go to on a night out.

Most come with shoestring fries; a trendy abomination. Whatever happened to chips? My jerk chicken burger was fantastic, the dark ale beer was flavoursome and the seating comfortable.

Fun, funky bar located in Canberra's hip Braddon area. Great place to grab a drink and walking distance to the city centre in Canberra. On Thursday evenings they even have dildo racing which is quite a laugh!

Not a bad place but seems to be a little overrated. Gets too packed on the dance floor. The food quality is not too bad but a little bit overpriced compared to Sydney/Melbourne. I guess that's normal for Canberra. Overall not a bad bar, at least they play great music which is the main thing you'd expect from a nightclub.

Went here with a group of friends. Was a nice atmosphere and even though it is cold outside they had space heaters to keep everyone warm. The music was great and then we noticed it was live music which made for a very nice touch. The Sunday wing special was also good.

Super busy on a Saturday night which is great for them but waiting 25 to 45 mins in line for drinks is sub par, the band was awesome though. side note; Not going to name names but one of the bouncers there needs to learn how to smile or blink or something, ive never been to a Gulag but I imagine that's how the staff in one would look and act. Great outdoor space in summer. Love the wings with a cider on a lovely warm Canberra day. Drinks are nice as well as the staff. Music is better on Friday nights. Went here on a Saturday once and was shocked by how bad the DJ was.

Hopscotch had a great atmosphere on the night I visited. The staff were very friendly and helpful, as well as accommodating a late group of six with only five mins before the kitchen 'closed'. The meals were good generous portion sizes and very appetising. The night we visited they had a very fun and tongue-in-cheek promotion running - "dildo racing" - which was all in good humour and not particularly crude. Crowd was of the younger age brackets but a good atmosphere overall.

Did not like the number of security guards at the entrance and within the venue, not the very crowded nature of the venue. Tables are so close that it is a bit difficult to walk past. Within the main venue there seems to be a lack of sound absorbing material as the ambient noise is so loud that it is difficult to hear conversations. Apart from that all else was great.

Good cocktails, only been there during the evening. Has a small dance floor but it's usually pretty packed in there. Does have a nice outdoor area at the front, but, being the ACT there is no smoking in the outdoor area!

Friends and I visited Canberra in mid July 2015 and I have to say we were most impressed with this place. We had 3 children with us and so was looking for a place that could accommodate us all. While there weren't any kids meals on offer, the manager allowed us to order half serves......so 3 kids fish and chips were ordered and eaten. The place was very busy inside so we sat outside under the toasty warm heaters. Us 4 adults thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the top service provided. I would definitely return to Hopscotch again should we return to Canberra. Extremely happy with all aspects of our eating experience here.

Had a work lunch function here recently. Given that there were in excess of 20 of us, the service was fairly quick and the staff friendly. Food was pretty much run of the mill pub fare. I had the crispy buffalo chicken burger with fries. The burger was tasty and the chicken cooked well. A bit more blue cheese sauce would've been nice. The fries were way too salty - it was pretty obvious they over salt them to bolster the drink sales. All in all reasonable meal but there are better options around.

Hopscotch is a pretty standard trendy bar. Massive range of beer, if all you drink is pale ale or xpa, no dark beers (at all, they used to have white rabbit dark ale by the bottle but stopped stocking it). Am I so out of touch that I'm the only person who wants a malty dark beer or a lager occasionally?! That said they make up for it with a good range of whisky. Great range of fancy bar food that is worth buying a few servings of. Beer garden is plain, but pleasant and there are a wide variety of options, from stools to chairs and picnic tables. They do trivia on Mondays if you are into that.

Really cool vibe right on the city end of Lonsdale St which is known for its progressive attitude towards the gastropub concept. With summer just around the corner be prepared to enjoy the scents and tastes of the spit in the front beer garden. Beer and scotch menu is exceptional and well priced for the area. Make sure to book a table on a Friday or Saturday night as it's gets quite busy and hope that the live music is in force.

Hopscotch really took off when it opened a few years ago and it has managed to maintain a great atmosphere, awesome selection of drinks and a good food menu as well. Throughout the week there is always a big crowd here and the outdoor area is excellent in the heat of the Canberra summer for a drink with a small or large group of friends. Staff are great.

Drinks are good. Had the beef brisket with chimichurri with mash for dinner. For me the chimichurri didn't work with the beef, or with the sweetish sauce that accompanied the mushrooms and mash. Tasted like an odd combination. Also some of the fat and connective tissue was still quite stringy and difficult to cut through. Mondays to Wednesdays they have a schnitzel special - $15 for a chicken schnitzel and it comes with a free drink. Everyone who had the schnitzel seemed pretty happy.
