More quantity over quality, even for pub food. Meals weren’t fresh but wasn’t expecting too much either. Staff were great though and very friendly. No high chairs either which made it difficult with little ones, and would mostly recommend this place for drinks and a light snack only.

To the chef / chefs working on the 7/01/2021 and 8/01/2021 at night I had one of THE BEST steaks of my life 2 nights in a row. The chips were fantastic and the salad was awesome. The steak was so well cooked, and so full of flavor and the mushroom sauce was beautiful. Staff were very friendly and service was great. Next time I am in Canberra I will be visiting here again for dinner.

We ordered home delivery and was a little bit worried about how the steak would be when we got it but OMG it was cooked to perfection and was the best steak ever and the sides were perfect also the Clive Palmer burger was nothing short of brilliant. Nice place, but quite loud so if it depends on what you wanna do here. If you want a place to get to know a person on a date, I wouldn't suggest this place, but if you're just hanging out with a group of friends, this place won't be a bad choice because no one will judge you (everyone here is loud too). Food and drinks here are decent. You can even book a table in advance.

Our two orders for lunch were really generous, arrived in good time, and were well presented and tasty. My fish and chips were accompanied by a large salad and tartare sauce. My friend's burger was also generous, but some salad would have enhanced the meal. I ordered a lime and soda and was very pleased with the fresh lime that replaced the cordial often served elsewhere. The seating is comfortable, staff friendly, and Covid rules adhered to. We'll eat at PJs in the City again.

Best mashed potato I have ever had in my life, the drink selection was great and the bartenders were all so friendly and more than happy to answer any questions. Service was super quick and fantastic. I would definitely recommend PJ's In The City for dinner and drinks.

Great atmosphere and people, the staff are very friendly... it's a rather expected pub/bar atmosphere with some of choices for food. Not the kind of place that is anyone's first choice to go to but a definite solid choice of last resort for people to finish their night in. As such, it also has occasional live gigs, which is great.

I don't know how they have pulled so many beers, the service was so slow. My rare steak was well done, once I got the right order. The Karaoke was some of the cruelest noises I have heard in my life but those participating seemed to be having a lot of fun, and that's important to them.

Great selection of beers and a fantastic guitarist playing. Not many people in on the night but could watch the world rugby cup played. Staff were knowledgeable on the beers they pulled. Good atmosphere too with the old wood theme. Food came out to customers really good as well.

Love the place, looks like an old tavern with antique look. Great place to meet with someone for business meeting. Drinks are great. I love their smoke salmon and Chicken Schnitzel meals with fries. Have been here for many lunches with colleagues and friends and loved it everytime. I would definitely recommend it to others

Good pub food in the middle of the city. We wanted cider but the barman said thwy were out which was odd. But apart from that great place and great atmosphere. Watch out for the lunch time during the week though. Staff gets a bit stretched out so have to be accommodating to that.

This place allowed us to walk-in and have drinks til midnight. I was very surprised to know this. The staff are friendly and the renovations definitely put PJs in my top list. With the bar ambience and the loud music pumping, our visit was the closest to a pre-covid night out. We definitely enjoyed our time. I highly recommend that in the next time you look at booking at other bars and couldn't get a table, come to PJs because they will have a place for you.

Reliably average pub - more average than reliable. Usually understaffed. Last time I was in, the four meals came in over a 30 minute spread and the last one's "salad" was just lettuce with dressing (they'd run out of tomatoes). Great location but they seem determined to waste it.

This place is a short walk from my work, so since the Wig and Pen closed down, this is a "go to pub". The decor and posters are top notch! It's got a really nice old pub feel. Lots of seats outside too that are great during the warmer months. The food is also of a great quality. I've had burgers from here in the past and they've always been great. Lately I've been indulging on their Aranchini - be sure to ask for extra sauce because they only ever provide a thimble of sauce on each ball otherwise. Now unfortunately this place also has some downfalls. The choice in beers is often only between two or three brands (Hawke brewing, Young Henrys, and maybe a Bentspoke or Capital brewing tap). The inside of this place always has a slight scent of parmesan cheese... Or vomit. This could be due to the old furniture that is likely seldom cleaned. The toilets have broken locks on the cubicles (at least in the men's toilet did the last time I visited). The service from staff is also quite spotty. Sometimes you get a great server who is happy to take your order, or apologetic when dealing with order mix-ups (every restaurant has mix ups at some point). But most of my experience with their staff had been rushed and rude. And almost every time I've eaten here, someone at my table has been waiting for their food... Even after complaining, the food will come out after everyone else has finished. And when complaining the staff have walked off in a huff and then plonked the plate on our table when it was ready. One time (in 2017) we were waiting for a bowl of chips, we waited over 35 minutes before going to the counter and telling them not to worry about it and to cancel it. Our other food items came out within 10 minutes. Overall it's a quaint little pub that serves great food with great decor. But the cleanliness and service could do with sprucing up.

They don't have a large range of good beers on tap, nor do they rotate their beers too often but it is a great place to have a chill session with friends and enjoy some classic pub grub. It can get busy and loud if there are events like karaoke on or if there is a sports event that they are showing.

I really enjoy the trivia, the staff are friendly and there's usually a fun, welcoming atmosphere. However, the food is very expensive for pub grub, and they are very forgetful for booking tables. In the last two months they've forgotten our booking on at least four occasions.
