Hosted my nieces 18th birthday here and the staff were just as outstanding as the food. I honestly don’t know what was better! So kind, helpful and patient with our party of 40 on a busy Saturday evening. The food was to die for and was so quickly prepared and served even though there was a full house in the restaurant. Views of the bustling city life was perfect for the summer night dining on the balcony. Would highly recommend if you love variety and professionalism in a smart and casual yet classy setting. ✨❤️

On a weekend trip from Sydney, a friend booked us some pre-dinner drinks here and it was fantastic. The cocktails were great and the service was outstanding and joyful like nothing was too difficult and they were genuinely happy to welcome you to their venue. This is my number 1 burger place to go! My burger lover partner and I have tried burgers all over Canberra and this one shot to the top of our lists! We have been there multiple times and love watching the guys in the kitchen carefully stack each burger with passion. But wait! Our food came out super quick, it was so incredibly fast. 10/10 service speed. Good food! Takoyaki was delicious and perfect texture, couldn't have been better. Chicken Curry Don was nice and a great sized meal. The crumb on the Chicken was really crunchy and amazing, the curry sauce was delicious but not mind-blowingly amazing like some of the curry places you can find in Japan. My partner had a vegan burger which was delicious but had too much aioli so she had to remove some so it wasn't drowned. I had a cocktail which was fine but I wouldn't get one again. They had Asahi on tap which tastes so much better than Asahi from a can. We were seated on the balcony which had a nice vibe. It started to rain lightly and our table was perfectly covered, but it wouldn't have been fun if the rain came in on even a slight angle.

Food was pretty good. However service wasn't great. Had to ask for water, menu and then ask again for a drink menu. The chips that came with the burger were cold but other then that the food was yum. I found the smell of seafood overwhelming throughout the whole venue (someone who doesn't eat seafood)- however I understand its a primarily seafood restaurant. Would still go again :)

Burgers are fairly good - Canberra Subset particularly enjoyable. The salted caramel espresso martini was a huge disappointment, very sweet and no coffee taste, most likely just caramel syrup. Chips slightly soggy - please double fry for crunch as the seasoning is nice.

Overall, Yaki Boi décor is amazing, the service not so much. We ordered our drinks and entrees, our entrée came out before our drinks. When they brought out our drinks, we were asked if we wanted to order our main. We did, and within 3 minutes of having our entrees, the first main course came out. In our group of four, my main sat for 10 minutes before the other three got their mains. I ordered a drink which again, took 15 minutes to come out. Our two friends ordered a pizza between them, which was soggy (maybe the prawns on their pizza were frozen before cooked?) and they sent it back but the other pizza was still not as good. Once we got our mains and we were eating, one of the staff members asked if we wanted a takeaway container?? We had just gotten our food! I would possibly go back for cocktails and entrée again, but the service was poor. There were young staff members on their phone while we were waiting to order drinks rather than serving tables. Such a shame, they have a really great looking menu and the place looks great.

Food was average but it is a nice venue & nice place to go with friends, staff were over bearing coming up to our table every 5 minutes & unsure of what to clear from the table, I understand they're still learning the staff seem very young but they will build confidence over time.
