We were pleasantly surprised with our dining experience. The venue still has the old world charm but is exceptionally well maintained and clean. The meals were prepared very well and are a good price. The guy behind the bar is a bit on himself and over the top but was very efficient at his job and won't prevent us from returning. All in all I recommend the place and will definitely return.

Rarely do you get a great mix of truly excellent food, enjoyable surrounds, friendly and efficient bar and wait staff, very broad range of beers, wines and cocktails and extremely reasonable prices but this place delivers them all, in spades. This place is one of Hobart's absolute gems. Go there and enjoy it.

Menu was great but the food was underwhelming. I suspect they were short staffed which is unfortunate but waiting 45mins for drinks to arrive was pretty poor, and there was something wrong with every meal we ordered. The meals were well presented and the prices were decent but the steak was overdone and chewy, my friend's fish was lukewarm and my other friend's eggplant dish looked more like an entree then a main. The desserts fell flat also. It's difficult times with Covid running riot but it would have been better for management to reduce the table bookings if they are short staffed rather than produce sub-standard meals. We won't be returning in a hurry but hopefully our experience was a one off and that the restaurant usually does better because the venue has a pleasant vibe.

We booked a small function for 20 people in their upstairs room. The service: Everyone from the barman that took my initial enquiry and the lady who organised the booking right through to the bar and kitchen staff on the night, were professional, friendly and absolutely delightful to deal with. The Food: We requested grazing plates for 20 people. I was worried at the price, it wouldn't be enough food. I could have catered another function with the leftovers (which they happily packaged up to go). I could not recommend enough.

The Sunday roast is fantastic! The lamb was perfectly cooked and the duck fat roast potatoes were a stand out. The Brazilian guy serving is wonderful. Perfect personality for front of house. ❤️

Newly opened after about 4 years of closure this is a welcome return of The Crescent to the Norh Hobart precinct. Some renos down stairs with the removal of a wall opens up the place and makes it a feel good area. A pool table has been put in what was the old dining room. New "beer garden" out in the carpark that's been painted a nice grey. Inside it's not as dark as it previously was. Still plenty of tables and stools to have a beer or meal at. Plus the bar has been sanded and brought back into the 21st century. Menu is small but caters for all tastes and a nice wine list. Apparently there is an upstairs bar and dining area which we didnt see. Staff were extremely freindly and answered our questions about the menu. We will be back.

I attended the New Year's Eve Dinner with a group of friends. I have nothing but praise, not only for the meal ( I had the vegetarian option) which was delicious and more than i could manage, but the staff were outstanding under difficult conditions. Jackie Rohan

It doesn't really look anything like these photos inside the actual pub. Dunno where these photos are from, but it has carpet and it isn't renovated inside. Not too bad. A bit small, but does have a pool table and some surly looking locals. Very British pub feeling.

We visited here by accident walking through the streets of Hobart while on holidays. We had been to the movies and was looking for a pint or two and stumbled across this Pub. Found it very welcoming & the bar people very friendly and accommodating. The barman Shane was great to chat too...and was good to see them all having fun at their job.

Found this pub right on the mark, not a dinghy pub but one with nice floors and nice seating area either at the bar or the tables. Has a pool table and tap beer with craft type beers. Was here on a Wednesday evening found a pleasant enviroment with small chatter not too loud with jazz music playing in the background. When i called to find out the food times, they told me meals are on all day up until 9pm. The staff were great, had a woman who I think here name was Margaret greet me after i enquired about the food and then a gent (with slight accent) with really good customer service and courtesy, serve a beer and take my food order. I go for both the outback style pubs with fires and the inner city bar type pubs. While this had an old feel to it, it was quite clean without stains on the floor or anything. This is more a pub/bar but still resembles a pub. Highly recommend that you see for yourself, bout to dig into a parma with chips! Which was realively well priced, not a cheap bland meal but not highly expensive either.

Had a wonderful family catch-up with interstaters with a walk-in lunch for 12 people. Staff were quick to accommodate us and were super helpful but not intrusive. Everyone enjoyed their food, serving were perfect size and the chips were great.

We had a casual meal at the newly re-opened "Crescent" recently. The Chicken "parmy" was nice, and the "handful of chips" certainly generous and of good quality. Bit noisy a venue for a meal, but the meal as part of a social evening with a group of friends would work well. Very nice staff!

My wife and I had chicken parmas, which we both agreed were very good. Great selection of beers and wines. Great selection of eclectic background music. Our only issue was the table service - two menus were left on our table during the entire time we were there, which was unusual and made things a bit cramped once the mains arrived. Would happily return to explore the rest of the menu.

We had an amazing meal here last Wednesday, the service was friendly, the atmosphere was great, and Chris the chef came over an introduced himself to us and explained the tasty food. I love the chowder and garlic bread. The pate was to die for too. The prices are really reasonable for such restaurant quality food. If you like the mix of a relaxed pub with fine dining then definitely go to The Cresent. The local beers were tasty too. I'll be back for sure. The only thing I might suggest is some art up on the walls in the dining area, to look at but to soak up some sound as well.

While the menu selection is very small, we could not fault the food, it was excellent and grest value. The staff were really friendly but missed a few little things along the way we had to ask to see menus and for steak knives. It was fantastic to walk into a local pub and see full tables and a great atmosphere. Will definately be heading back there for a great meal, the flounder was the standout for our table!!!

This place ticks all the boxes. The food was next level amazing. The wine list is one of the best I have seen In hobart and the service was brilliant. We had Paul serving us, he was extremely knowledgeable and had a real passion for what he does. It's rare to find a place that delivers on food, service and atmosphere. To top it off these guys have gluten free covered. My husband and I are both glutards and it's the first time he has had a gluten free beer on tap.... tick. We will be back.

The Crescent is a must if you enjoy great food, good beer and really friendly staff. Chef Chris is turning out some amazing flavour experiences from the kitchen (the paté is to die for!). It has a really relaxed vibe, a place you want to sit and chat with your mates and enjoy a couple of bevys and a bite to eat. The food is next level, this isn't your ordinary pub fare but you also aren't paying exorbitant prices, this is a win win. D yourself a favour and pop in a check out the Crescent, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I will definitely be going back...with some regularity I'm sure.
