Comments of Hobart Brewing Co
A. S.
Firstly, what you want to hear, is that their beer is wonderful. I had both sours and can say the peaches and cream sour is one of the best I've had. I got it on our first day of our holiday and was back for another each evening. My partner enjoyed the extra pale ale in a similar way. It has a nice beer garden with some cover and food trucks which are mostly open most evenings. And then on the last day of our holiday they had a negroni available.

Bloody good beer, try the amber ale, just like a James squire but better

We were there today 26/2/22 ,and can I say I loved it. I drank the XPA and I thought it was really good. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great, keep up the good work guys and girls, no hesitation in recommending this place.
B.
Quite a cool place, the fires out the back were great and the live music stage was a mint setup
J. S.
Love this place! So laid back, great beer and a good choice of goodies from the food vans .

Such a great space. Good beer. Good music. Excellent sound for that.

Relaxed brewery atmosphere
Good beer selection and as expected quality.
Large outdoor area with food trucks for grub.

Just say down with a glass of Jam on Toast Dark Larger. This is one smooth seasonal beer. Get it while you can🍺

Dropped in here Late on a Saturday night on our last night in Hobart from Sydney, and it was great, the staff were awesome and thanks Lockie for looking after us, it definitely made our night and a perfect end to a week in Tasmania.
The Hazy Pale was so good I had to take a large litre can home to Sydney with me, also loved the funky old canning machine too..
My girlfriend loved the warm cider and the XPA was awesome.
Keep up the good work guys..

Loved beer 👍🏻 it has a backyard which has sun in the afternoon. With a great warm weather it is the place to spend all day 😎 I went for tasting paddles; 4 beers for $12 👍🏻
N. t.
Average beer. And they don't do a tasting paddle. So I ended up trying 3 beers and not lining any.

Cool laid back place . If your a beer drinker you'll slip in here like a comfy old slipper. Good range of beers on tapas in 3 sizes. Happy to give a taste before u buy a full glass. Lots of food Van's and cheap eats. The way beer culture is suppose to be. I would have loved to see a few more IPAS and Dipas but that's just my taste. Cheers and thanks

Big surprise to find a world class craft brewer in Tasmania. HBC carries a full line up of IPA, Stouts, Saison, and Bock’s. I tried many, but my favorite was the Matrimony IPA which was brewed for one of the brewers wedding. The location is huge with an indoor and outdoor section. They have a big fire put for cold nights. They also have stage for local bands and a pool table. The food truck that was there the night we came serviced delicious Mexican food, my wife and I both had pork quesadillas, with some incredible hot sauces.
The service was amazing and my only complaint is they closed on Sunday at 5:30 (too early!!!)

Great beer and atmosphere. Very industrial vibe, good spot for great beer!

Amazing beers. The pale ale and the cream ale are such quality ales. The brewery was shut when we visited Tuesday / Wednesday they open Thursday’s - Sunday’s. But the spot was ideal open space, food trucks and a view close to the harbour.
Grabbed some tins and even more disappointed I didn’t get to taste a pallet.
M. F.
Great beer in a rustic industrial port shed. Exceptional atmosphere and lovely service. Free entertainment such as the pool and ping pong table. What an wonderful experience.
A. L.
Today I had a chance to enjoy this lovely place plenty of food option and beautiful people. I always try to find news places here and it was gorgeous I found.
S.
Fresh beer also tasty is awesome. I feel vividness 💃🏻 feeling good place !!!
B. T.
Great place for a casual beer. Big warehouse-style beer garden.
S. R.
Spacious trendy and inspired industrial space with good alcoholic beverages. Forget Cascade: do your local beer tasting right in town in a great atmosphere.
R. E. c.
Great place for a beer very nice relaxed atmosphere with good selection of craft beer on tap and live music on most weekends .
M. B.
Great beer! Inside and outside good atmosphere. Fire pots in winter and I imagine plenty of sun in summer. Food vans next door only add to the experience. Plus it tastes miles better than cascade so it’s a winner all round 🍺 Only drawback is that it doesn’t open until 2pm on Saturdays.

Nice craft beers with large outdoor space and food trucks
S. D.
Cool place with a nice vibe and friendly staff. Love the beer garden and awesome brewing shed with old corrugated iron. Beers are pleasant without being amazing. Will return!
H. L.
Love the setup and the pale ale is a winner. Good spot to unwind.
J. R.
Nice, well set out & very relaxing to sit and enjoy freshly brewed beers. Pale ale is excellent, leaves a great taste. No cash all done by card
R. B.
Awesome brewery and bar. Great beer, friendly knowledgeable staff and an awesome space.
A.
Excellent beer, excellent people. Hobart Brewing had an incredible selection of beer that were unique and creative compared to standard beer selections within the area. When it's good, it's good.
B.
Great venue with lots of space, staff are nice. It’s good to go here if there is an event on, especially when they get food trucks in.
However if you genuinely like your beer then you’ll be better off at one of the many other bars and breweries. I’ve tried a lot of the beers here and still haven’t found one that I like. I know it’s subjective but Last Rites, Shambles, Moo Brew etc are leagues above if beer is what you’re searching for.
M. C.
Great local brewery and selection, but the biggest downfall is the fact they don't allow cash. I understand covid but still they could allow this
F. J.
We loved this place. The best beer in Hobart. It's a must.
D. R.
Cool place with good vibe and good selection of beers.
C. P.
Fantastic venue for a relaxing beverage. Plenty of choices of beer, wine and spirits. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who are always willing to help with choosing. St Christopher is amazing, one of the tastiest beers in the world, let alone Tassie.
K. T.
The beers are awesome, 11 of them! We loved the single hop ale.
m.
Excellent range of beer with a select wine and spirit menu. Food trucks, live music and the monthly Clubhouse Comedy room.
C. S.
Checking out the other reviews, everyone is spot on. This place is great. Awesome selection of craft beers. Nice, friendly and knowledgable staff. Had some pizzas in the food truck in the courtyard. A must stop if you're doing a Hobart drinking tour or just want a nice beer and pizza. I liked the outside sitting area too. This place is very hipster.
D. G.
Awesome place, literally the big shed that they do their brewing in! Tasty tasty beers, and they have food vans turn up fairly often for eats. Sometimes bands too, which have always been good. My favourite is the Extra Pale Ale. Take a jacket in winter, though the do have big fires. Take sunscreen in the summer.
J. S.
Great selection of craft beers. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Venue is cool and trendy
T. A.
Great beer, great atmosphere and staff. But if its cold rug up! The wind gets in.
S. C.
This shed is an absolute beer mecca! Great brews, cool vibes, friendly staff and a really relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of seating inside and out and we loved the free pool and ping pong table. One of our Hobart favourites!
E. H.
Great spot! Plenty of space and friendly staff. Interesting beer. Was a fantastic place to go on our visit to Hobart from NSW
B. S.
Not much to add to the pics. Wonderful place for beer enthusiasts!

Attending their opening weekend while we were in Hobart and loved the atmosphere, friendly staff, and great beer. Was nice to find an American-style, hoppy pale ale. Space is cool with fire pits and plenty of outdoor seating.
D. R.
We found that the venue was quiet and comfy feeling. We were there on a Sunday afternoon is nice a quiet atmosphere.

I went to the Blues Brews and BBQ's last weekend. Overall I enjoyed the weekend and will probably go again next year but I would like to share my thoughts on areas I think it could be improved.
I purchased a weekend pass and attended for most of the weekend. I enjoyed the early Saturday afternoon acts, my favourite was Billy Warner. Later in the evening the Lazy Susans came on and I did not like them at all. They were not playing blues music and would have been more suited to the Falls Festival. It got really cold around that time (no fault of Hobart Brewing Co and to be fair the did put some fire pits around) but with average, non blues music and temperatures around 13 degrees we left early. I spoke to someone the next day and they commented that they arrived later in the day and did not hear any blues music at all Saturday night and they had complained about it. So I think we made the right call to leave early.
You could not bring food in so you had to purchase food on site. There was very few choices and the food was very expensive and very below average in quality. I understand these places have to make a buck and I don't mind paying top dollar for food but the quality has to be at least edible.
There was a BBQ competition on as well over the weekend. I was hoping they would sell us some of their food but they couldn't because of council regulations which was a shame. Bunnings can do sausages on a BBQ. At an event called Blues Brews and BBQ's even a few snags on a BBQ would have been fine.
All the acts on Sunday were good. I have heard Claire Ann Taylor on ABC radio a few time and I like her music so I was looking forward to see her live for the first time and she did not disappoint.
Dan Sultan was a little disappointing because he played solo. I guess the cost of Dan bringing his band was a cost festival organisers were not prepared to pay and the fact they had Dan Sultan's name on festival posters was a good enough draw card. I expect most patrons were a little disappointed because I felt some people were ready to get up and dance but with no drums or bass to set the beat people did not get up.
The Black Sorrows and the Bull sisters were the highlight of the weekend. They exceeded expectations. They had the whole place rocking.
Here are some areas that I think could be improved.
Better quality food. There are plenty of good food trucks around Hobart they could use.
Children were allowed at the venue but were supposed to be accompanied by an adult at all times. This was not enforced and kids were running around running amok unsupervised everywhere.
Alcohol was not served responsibly.
There were a couple of blokes that were really knocking back the Willie Smith ciders near us. Whilst they were happy drunks they could not walk back through the crowd without spilling new drinks all over everyone. One of them fell over late in the day and landed on an old lady. He hurt her and she seemed quite distressed. These two drunks did ruin the comfort and enjoyment of a lot of other patrons. There were also a lot of other very drunk people. By all means have a few drinks and enjoy the day but when you are having trouble to walk it is time to ease off.
The toilets were disgusting. The men's toilet by the end of Sunday was a river of urine. Many drunk men could not pee in the urinal and peed all over the floor. This caused a river of urine that you had to walk through in the toilet and it was disgusting.
Overall I enjoyed it. Next year I will do my homework on the acts and if they look like they did this year will probably only go on the Sunday.

HBC's stand out feature is a particularly great outdoor space, perfect if you want to take your dog with you for a lazy afternoon drink.

Very friendly, dropped my tasting platter and manager offered new one. Beer is great, and the taco place nearby is very good.

Cool place for after work drinks. Good selection of beers, can recommend the Belgian style one. Food available from food trucks, which tend to be here on Sundays.
