A. B.Beautiful experience at the bar. Knowledgeable and timely staff. We didn’t have to wait for food to long, great range of Tasmanian drinks, just what I was after. Food was well cooked, taste was lovely. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful, especially this lovely lady called Sue! Great customer service. So glad I stopped by this place by accident. Lovely local customers and staff. Would highly recommend.

T. M.We came here for dinner not expecting much as there were hardly any other people dining. But damn were we blown away. Staff were very friendly, service was quick, portion sizes were huge and the food was divine. This place should be packed every night. Will definitely be back!

P. M.An unassuming pub in the back streets of Battery Point but the food was absolutely amazing. I had the most delicious lamb shanks and the pub had full table service. Warm and friendly staff. Highly recommended for a pint and dinner.

C. Y.We had our lunch here and because of the holiday there were less people then usual. We walked passed it yesterday and it looked a bit crowded.
There are 2 menus - bar or restaurant. We chose the bar side and had Tassie Scallops + Seafood Chowder. Food came fast and was nice! The seafood chowder was sooo creamy, nom nom :) good serving portion as well!
The staff were very welcoming, even though we were obviously not from around here, they sounded like your friendly staff back home.
We enjoyed our lunch here, so chillaxing 😊
A bit of history: the original hotel was built in
1843 but was demolished in 1967 as the beginning of the plan of building a highway. Luckily the community worked together and preotected the area from further demolition, sadly the hotel was sacrificed but it helped to save the rest of the buildings in Battery Point.

T. S.This hotel is well situated and an easy walk to the city centre (Elisabeth Street Mall, Markets abd Docks). The resturant on site is excellent. There are also plenty of resturants and cafes aroubd it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The only issue is water pressure for the showers however they are manageable and a bath is also available. There have been comments on here re noise but we had no issues. The rooms are at the opposite end to the main bar. This is a great place to stay and we will be back here next time we are in Hobart. Family stay with 2 teenage daughters.

M.Great Customer service, really good parmi and wine selection, quiet but central location, just a short stroll down Kelly street into town, room was clean, shower was a bit frustrating (small and temp control). Italian next door has perfect takeaway food and bakery on the other side has a huge selection of cakes.

K. L.This place is fine for a night. The location is great for tourists with heaps of nice restaurants nearby and a short walk to Salamanca Pl. There is free parking for guests. The room was moderately clean but the place is old and a bit worse for wear, so don't expect luxury.
S. V.A small quaint place on the corner of Hampden Rd and Kelly Street with about 10 rooms on the first floor and a well stocked bar and restaurant in the ground floor. The hotel has its own free parking which is great since one can park the rental vehicle next to us. The place is bustling with customers at 6pm. Great choice

Restaurant food was great but there is a large price differential between the pub food and the restaurant. For something like the parma, there didn't seem to be much of a difference in size or quality to justify the $15 extra for ordering it in the restaurant area.
Overall, great location, value and friendly staff. I would stay here again next time I visited Hobart.
P. H.Clean and tidy accommodation in walking distance to Salamanca Markets. The nightclub noise will destroy any hope of getting to sleep before midnight at the earliest. Room needs more power points. Staff were lovely.
a. c.Bought a $12.50 Chicken Parmie absolutely massive. perfectly cooked, perfect amount of sauce and cheese etc (in my opinion) great barman super nice and funny. Would recommend, would go back.

G. F.Many aspects of this establishment are exemplary. The guy behind the bar is friendly and efficient. He's also very generous with his glasses of Tasmanian reds. There are 2 menus: bar and restaurant. I ate in the restaurant and while a little more expensive it's quieter than the bar. Decor and setting is tasteful. The jewel in the crown is the food: beautifully presented, reasonably priced and all that you would expect of a restaurant with an eye for detail. Delicious and hearty!

T.We stayed here for a coupe nights. Unfortunately i got crook and spent way to much time sleeping in the room. One could say i tested it out well. Rooms were dated but provided the necessities. As expected it was hard to rest with all the partying down stairs.

So very glad we did. The service was absolutely fantastic and the food was fantastic. Couldn’t be better!!
