Nice place. The location is great, lots of greens and the Maribyrnong creek by the side. I came here for an end of the year party, I’m intrigued to come back in regular days. Take your time to find a parking spot.

Had a nice dining experience tonight. Despite being very busy, meals came out quickly and staff were friendly and resolved any issues we had. Meals were huge and great, we were all very satisfied. We dined with two kids and it was a pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

The atmosphere was great, facilities fantastic, meal could have been better. Lamb souvlaki skewers, $39 for 6 tiny pieces of lamb not great, and slightly wilted salad had no dressing. Looked ok. A little disappointed, but otherwise good night!

Incredibly over priced food. The food quality and taste is okay. Our wedges came out cold. One of our chips portion came undercooked. But The dips were good! The drinks are great and well priced. The venue is massive and has a great vibe going but they could do more to make service a bit more smooth and stream lined. The steak portions look far too small for the amount you pay. The service seems chaotic. Would come back again but just for the dips and drinks.

Tried to book a table for 2 by phone for lunch to celebrate a birthday but was told to just show up. Arrived about 12.30pm got a nice table by the river, tried to order oysters but they had run out already. They had also run out of the wine we ordered. Ordered our entrees & mains at the same time & were assured they would come out separately but they arrived together. Then we were told that our table was reserved & we would have to move. The food was ordinary & the service was worse.

Good atmosphere and they made a mocktail for us which wasn’t on the menu - so good 👌 Edit: I have to add two things.. 1) The pasta was genuinely terrible, really oily and cheesy and terrible flavour combinations- did not balance well. The actually pasta was also overcooked. 2) We asked if what we ordered contained nuts due to allergies and had to leave in a rush because of an allergic reaction to one of the dishes... Sorry to add these last points but everything else was good!

Love this pub, albeit it's getting an expensive eatery. Prices are now in the mid thirties for a decent mains. Outlook to die for and the place was 80% full. Considering the crowd, the wait for our meal was acceptable. Garlic bread starter was filling House wine reasonably priced

Busy but good atmosphere. The line for food was ridiculously long, it took us about 30-40 minutes to just order the food. Buzzers are used to notify you when your meals and cocktails are ready to pick up, and although it took us so long to order our food, it came quite quickly. Cocktails, however, took a little longer than expected.

I have been living nearby for 7 years, but it was my first time here, I missed a lot! Such a wonderful place to gather with friends and family for drinks and dinner. Great vibe, atmosphere and delicious foods. Deserves more than 5 stars! 👍

Good location. Lots of space. Coffee was served really hot..... chips served only warm on this occasion. Will have to try again. But lots of areas to relax alongside the river. Good nightly deals. Not the most romantic of places but great for family gatherings and chill outs.

This bistro is beautifully located along the Maribyrnong river. The downside of it is that it can get really noisy and crowded inside and outside the restaurant. This makes it not quite an ideal location for relaxing or catching up with others as you'll quite often find yourself having to shout over the surrounding noises. Food is quite good over here and they do serve in generous portions.

Went there for lunch with a meetup walking group. Have been to Anglers before and food is plentiful good value and service is excellent. I had seniors serving of fish and chips plus lemon tart for dessert. The only fault was I found fish batter slightly under cooked.

Came here looking to rent a function room for a small wedding reception. Unfortunately due to Covid, rooms need a minimum of 40 people. Ate at the bistro, standard pub meals but I feel that it was overpriced for the quality of meal. The Quantity was great though. Very large meals. My partner couldn't finish her Parma, which we took home. Found it to be kinda bland thought. The ribs I had, had much more flavour to it. Side chips had too much salt.

Really nice family friendly venue. Menu is a good all-rounder pub style. Don’t expect anything other than the standard are and you’ll have a pleasant experience. Will definitely keep coming here given its size and multi-purpose space but would be nice to have the staff step up a touch.

Had a large booking here for lunch on Saturday. Was very surprised with how it all went. Staff were amazing and very helpful with everything. Food was fresh, cooked to perfection and served very quickly. Didn't hear a single complaint from our group of almost 40 people! Great view of the river, with lots of natural light though the big windows. Bistro was a nice quiet space considering how many people were there. Would definitely recommend to others and I'm sure we will be back.

Was there last summer with a few of my friends, was a bit concerned about the 6'3 men jumping fences and in particular there was one man with a kenzo t shirt and versace sunnies who kept dancing up against me and my friends making us feel uncomfortable, everyone just be aware of this/

It been a while since my last visit and i was impressed. I had lamb shank and it was delicious. Meals are between $25 and $35 with deals for seniors. It is a facility for both young, and old with views of the river from indoor and out door areas. I was there for lunch when it was quieter but I know it gets busier at night and weekends. It is worth giving it a try.

Recently had a formal joint 50th Birthday party at the main function room at Anglers. The facility is tidy, and clean, and presents well. Michael (Senior manager) was highly professional to deal with, while Maddy (our event room co-ordinator) was responsive, friendly and engaging. We were and remain, appreciative of both. The problem lies with the catering. It was clear early on the kitchen was completely overwhelmed by the requirements of the evening. Chef and kitchen, please take note, your team need to LIFT their game Many guests (even the normally easy going one's) complained about the slowly delivery of food, and overall lack of food, and it was clear the event was under-catered for, despite us being reassured before the night that our orders and platters would be MORE than ample. For a Parma and a Pot ( etc) with friends on a Saturday afternoon, this is a great venue. For a formal and fully catered event, seek alternative solutions

I had a chicken parma and chips. Wasn't the best meal l have eaten here. Chicken was just warm and not cooked enough and the chips were luke warm when served. Wasn't all that busy while we were there so l don't know why the meal couldn't have been done properly. Wouldn't waste my money next time.

It's certainly changed alot since the "good ol days" the fitout and the layout is quite good and fresh. There's a very eclectic crowd but really surprised at the amount of smokers. Good range of beers on tap and generally friendly staff. Food was just okay.

Lots of very young bar staff who clearly don't know their product lines makes ordering in masks at the bar a challenge. Otherwise a great place to relax especially if the weather is good.

Many thanks to Natasha and her staff who ensured our Christmas Function was a great success. The Pool Room was a brilliant venue with its own entry point and security, a private bar, outdoor seating area, pool tables and spacious area for our guests to enjoy our night. The food was delicious and plenty to go around. The flexibility to adjust serving times to suit our events schedule was a great help and made our evening flow so well. Highly recommend for your next function.

Don’t bother with the mushroom risotto, mine had about 2 mushrooms sliced up and hidden at the bottom of the dish. I mean, if you’ve run out of mushrooms then cross it off the menu. Other than that, service was quick, but they were very insistent that we leave after our allotted 2 hours.

The meals are quite ok, I was expecting something better considering the place. The music selection did not match with the lunch time and you have to wait around 30min for the meals.

Would have given a higher rating for the food as the food was tasty, large servings at good pub prices. But unfortunately our reserved table of 8 was seated adjacent to where the queue for the food orders were placed. Continually bumped as people stood behind us, couldn't talk as a group due to the noise from the queue. Couldn't move as the pub was full and our comments to the team members seem to fall on deaf ears. Go to find another area for the customers to line up or don't seat people in that location.

We went in like lost sheep and were greeted by a guy that eagerly gave us a quick rundown of the place and took us to a table. All the staff we dealt with tonight (11 September 2019) were great. Friends and I were at Anglers last night and had an amazing time. The atmosphere location and food was delicious. Being 18 of us it can be a little hard to keep us all happy considering there were 9 kids. Everyone left there extremely happy, especially since all moved to the bar to watch the footy game 👍👌

If your purely interested in value for money, The Anglers is for you. Almost everyone in our dinner group couldn't finish their dinner, either because there was too much or it just wasn't that tasty. Some focus on quality over quantity might be beneficial. Service was excellent. Very accommodating when additional guests arrived.

Been many years since I've been there and was very pleasantly surprised. Has been updated and the decor is great and very relaxing. Had the roast of the day which was pork and vegies and it was delicious and cooked on the day and not reheated. Will definately go back again. Was really surprised at how nice this place is. Drinks were standard price wise. $9 for a basic and $8 a schooner. The layout is great. Some of the patrons weren't the type of people I'd enjoy going out with, but that will change night to night!

I went out for Din dins on a Tuesday night thinking it would be quite but it was super busy. Had to wait 23 mins to order food, so that was a disappointing start. But the woman who served me at the bar was super friendly and it honestly made up for wait time. Food came out in less than 15 mins. Wasn't the greatest Parma, but it was $25, and from ordering to receiving it, I was satisfied. Without a doubt, the best part of the entire experience, was the river in the background. Beautiful atmosphere.

We were very happy with our Christmas luncheon in the Riverside Room last year. Given we had 100 people attending and the 40+ degree heat, the air conditioners did a pretty good job and the food and service were excellent.

Very busy Sunday on a beautiful afternoon. This is a great venue to catch up with friends great view nice decor lots on the menue to suit all tastes. All 25 people enjoyed their food. I love the Anglers Tavern. They've done a great job outside- it's super nice to have a drink out there now and the river views are awesome. Drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are good people too. Lots of parking and easy to get to via public transport.

Great food, friendly staff awesomeness atmosphere the food came out super quick it was great, the only thing is the kids play area, it's not really a kids play area unless Ur 15, there's 8 game machines and one that's free at least you could have some tables for kids to do a colour in or something for kids to play on. When going out for dinner the last thing any parent needs is kids constantly asking for money to play games because apparently just going out isn't enough.

Busy pub situated on the river. Four of us ate dinner here - had to queue up to order food and then get drinks at the other bar, all quick and easy, no fuss. Gorgeous outdoor area which is sheltered from the wind and has cover from the sun in parts. Food was excellent and the portions huge - seriously, if you’re really hungry then you’ll be well catered for! Not a long wait at all. Live music too. Anglers Tavern - 08/11/2020 “Chicken Parma & Chicken Schnitzel w Pepper Sauce” Amazing venue, great day, let down by the food unfortunately. This is a lovely place to hang out with great atmosphere, beautiful views of the river and the design is perfect but I would say it’s only good for drinks. Given my partner and I had basically the same meal it is a staple of any pub menu and the schnitzel and Parma would be right at the bottom of my list of even just average parmas. It shouldn’t be that hard but it was just tasteless and the chicken extremely tough, I assume very low quality cuts. Hopefully it was just an off or busy day with so many patrons returning after lockdown! COVID wise they were great setting up social distancing and hygiene well and all staff that we saw were correctly wearing masks! Food - 4/10 Staff - 10/10 Environment - 10/10 Overall Combined - 4/5

The thing that will let this place down is there focus on rules ie not allowing people from functions to go to the bar and then back to the function room after a certain time, even though the bar is still bustling.
