I have been a big fan of the BBC ever since I lived in Dubai, so I was happy to find out that they have a branch here. I expected to find Kriek lambic, but sadly they didn't have it, so we opted for Leffe Blonde and Leffe Brune. We also ordered the following food: - Chefs Victorian Grazing Plate - beef bresaola, cacciatore, char-grilled spicy bratwurst, char-grilled mild weisswurst, maffra stockmans choice cheshire aged cheddar, house marinated mt zero olives, water crackers, and caper berries ($35). - Fries & Mayonnaise ($10) We loved the grazing plater but were disappointed with the fries, as there was nothing Belgian about them! They were supposed to be thick-cut, but all we got was the usual thin fries you get at regular places. Despite that, we keep coming back for the beer and are now a big fan of the Hoegaarden Wheat Beer, as it's generally on a discounted rate. It's an expensive beer place, but a great experience and friendly, helpful staff.

Very delicious food in a nice setting with very friendly people at the restaurant. We had the Pork Knuckle, the 1kg Mussel Pots Roquefort with blue cheese, cream, and spinach sauce, and the Chicken Parmigiana. The Peel Knuckle skin is very crispy and is large enough for 2 people. The Chicken Parmigiana is very nice but the fries stole the show being well seasoned and remaining crispy long into the dinner. The cheese sauce with the mussel pot is just right, tasty without being too overpowering with tender mussels that were cooked just right.

Being a homebrewer I was excited to try some Belgians. Was a bit disappointed with selection though to be honest - seemed to have a couple of tripples and a couple of wheat beers - one of which is commonly available in supermarkets so in all 3 to try for the conniseur I suppose. Else the usual selection of coopers etc. I've been to bars in Belgium and didn't really think it was an accurate representation - but I'm being picky here - for most folks it's a nice place - kind of like Hard Rock Cafe but without the music stuff on the walls. It was probably the time of day I went, but there was an unusual number of single men in their 50's sitting around the place staring at us. Either that or I forgot to take my meds. Not bad for a quick pint, but not in my top 10. Try it though!

Very complete beer menu. The cheese croquette is perfect. Service was good. No complains at all. They are offering 10 dollars Stella pints as a welcome back offer after covid lockdown. Well worth the visit! The only downside is that it is hanging on the back of the River Street so the view is to a residential building.

A really cool place to unwind after work. There are both local & European brews on tap. It was awesome using a goblet to down your drink! I went on a weekday so it was relatively quiet but the service was very good. The staff was attentive. Schnitzel was alright but I enjoyed the eggplant chips. I would go back to try the mussels.

Dining inside or outside, the Belgian Beer Cafe offers a great experience at the foot of Eureka Tower. There's a great range of beers on tap and the menu offers everything you'd expect from nuts, share plates, snacks & mains. I really enjoyed the Steenbrugge Blanche on tap - perfect on a hot day!

Popped in for lunch, waitress staff are welcoming and friendly, accommodating. Had the chicken curry of the day, it was delicious and good size for lunch. Added a side salad which was fresh and tasty. Let's not forget the beer, can't go wrong with any of their beers. Well done! Definitely recommend! Book ahead at popular times as it can get quite busy.

A great place to try different beer styles, ones that are not sold at regular liquor stores. Lots of tap and bottled beers to choose from. Tastes great too! The only downside is probably the price… not cheap. (I mean it’s understandable as they have to ship it over from overseas)

Food and beer is good. You can also get a cuppa. One shortfall is a few of the staff are short tempered and don’t have time to explain things. Which can be hard for people who are just starting to get back out into the world again. I’ve been going here from before covid and had great experiences with the staff. The majority of the old staff have since moved on due to work fluctuations because of covid. Maybe the new wait staff and event managers aren’t used to talking/dealing with people?

Good drink choices and again on the expensive side. latte coffee was served warm and replaced on request. Did not appear to be a busy night. Would recommend only for the drink choices.

An excellent selection of beers on tap. The snapper on squid ink risotto was excellent. $190 for five people was a little bit steep. We had three alcoholic drinks and two kids drinks. if we had a second drink that would have gone over the $200 Mark. I've been here 4 times now, and have had great beer and food every time! Many of the servers are actually Belgian and very passionate about thier heritage and job. I've had good conversations everytime, perfect place to sit for a good while and really enjoy a good beer. What a wonderful vibe! It's everything I'd hoped it to be! The curry of the day was (surprisingly) my favorite dish. All the food is good, they know what they are doing. This is one of the few restaurants that makes ALL the food on the menu well.

I love the kriek cherry beer here! Highly recommended as a fruit beer that is actually a drink that becomes more than the sum of its parts. The leffe is also a great dark beer as a change from the lighter, tart Kriek.

This hidden gem of a café may seem a little overshadowed by its high-rise Eureka Tower neighbour but upon entering the nondescript establishment be prepared to contend with unrelenting buckets of mussels, climb mountainous platters, and glug gigantic Belgian beers. A well rounded menu, (obviously centred on Belgian beer :)), but there is enough variety to please most tastes; not just in terms of beer but also food. Came here for a cheeky bevvy and wish I had more time to spend there! Yanick (sorry if the spelling is incorrect) greeted us so warmly on arrival and was so nice, as were the rest of the staff we spoke to. Nothing but cold beer and warm smiles to make your day! Fantastic venue - we had a Hen's night there, and from the moment I contacted the restaurant, they went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic night - and they delivered on the night. They put a lot of thought and effort into creating a fabulous mushroom burger which is the best we've ever tasted. Direct from the menu "Herb and parmesan crumbed field mushroom, with walnut & rocket, pesto, saganaki cheese, lettuce, tomato and dill mayonnaise, served with fries and onion rings". In addition to great food, the service is excellent. NOTE: They no longer serve this. They now serve a halloumi burger for the same price which is basically a fancy grilled cheese that isn't so fancy.

There is a great selection of international beer here, or soft drinks, if you'd prefer. Beer ranges from pale ales to porter stout; bottled or tapped. Standing room indoors filled quite quickly on Friday evening. Luckily, the outdoor dining area is heated. As far as the food goes, it's standard pub grub, with the prices being for the location rather than the quality.

I was excited for a great date night at Belgian Beer Cafe, but a couple of mistakes led to mixed experience that night. We ordered a bucket of Coronas, and yet a bucket of Stellas (my girlfriend’s least favorite beer, funnily enough) showed up. The wait staff brought us the Coronas but was clearly frustrated. Yes, I’m sure I ordered the Coronas! The fries and gravy we ordered as a starter was an excellent choice. Good size, great gravy. When our entrees arrived, my steak pie was delivered in all of its crispy splendor. My girlfriend’s veal parma, however, was not a veal parma, but a chicken one. This ended up being lackluster, with dry meat and disappointing flavor, and we were on a time restraint and unable to ask for a correction. We forgot to get a receipt and as such are unable to know whether we were charged more for the veal parma that never arrived. The pie was so delicious that the Belgian Beer Cafe still earns four stars, but I would highly suggest avoiding their parmas. Stick with a pie and order a proper Belgian beer!

We always come here if I crave for mussels. The have Sunday $20 mussel pots served with bread and a side of chips. My hubby's favourite is the Veal Parma. Good ambience and atmosphere. People are lovely and I reckon it's quite family friendly. Unfortunately our family doesn't drink, so can't really give reviews on the drinks!

Since the Belgian Beer Cafe is located next to the Yarra River, you will get an excellent chance to see the great view of Melbourne CBD and feel the marvelous wind all over your face, and also meeting new people if you know exactly where to go. I really love the Belgian Beers on tap. Leffe Blonde is one of my favourite beers, however when I tried Leffe Blonde in bottled form from a bottle shop it was nowhere near as good. The atmosphere and service has always been OK, and the food is OK too. The main thing that makes me go back to the Belgian Beer Cafe is literally the tap beers.

I can't tell you which country in the world has the best beer but if you'd like to try to find out this place has a huge selection of beers on tap and in bottles. The various sizes in glasses makes it a great spot for your heavy to lightweight drinkers looking for that option for a "one beer" meet up spot. Conveniently located around the corner from eureka sky tower so it's great for a pre or post meet up spot. Prices are high but your paying for quality and the comfortable ambiance.
