I loved the country pub atmosphere and interior decor here. Staff were friendly and the stuffed capsicum I ordered was delicious! My only negative was that meals took a little long to be served up but overall felt it was worth a visit given its colourful history..

Lovely pub with loads of indoor and outdoor seating in a fantastic country location. Staff are so friendly and helpful and offer a first class service. The food is great and offer a large variety of dishes to meet all tastes, also cater for vegiterians and Vegans too.

Good little out of the way place but worth the drive. Food was reasonably priced and were good sized servings. Staff were very friendly and fast. Food was better than expected for a small pub. Very warm and inviting.

Classic haunted country pub, quiet during the day, but can get busy during weekend mealtimes when a lot of visitors drop by for a counter meal. You'll find the best value meals in the public bar, although the more-expensive restaurant menu has a wider range of dishes. Worth a visit!

Never been here before , girlie catch up lunch with friends from Hawthorn, Caroline Springs and more locally Melton and Sunbury. Great time was had had all, great service with a smile, relaxed atmosphere and everyone's food tasted fab . My only slight criticism is that on a chilly wintery looking day, the hearty meal of choice was the delicious sounding lamb shanks , but before 1pm they were sold out. The wine went down easily and the prices are competitive. Will definitely be back .

An original 1850s pub.... great victorian era atmosphere with real history. The food is fantastic... and the open fire is wonderful. Six stars out of five.... Oh... and you will need to book.

The Coach & Horses inn is a little out of the way in Clarkefield; a quaint old pub set close to the local train station. The building itself is very typical of 19th century Bluestone design; well constructed and very solid. The bar and restaurant rooms are well separated, so those seeking a quiet meal are well catered for. The staff are very friendly here and meals and drinks are served very quickly. The menu offers a good selection of pub fare, with high quality produce and very generous serving sizes. Overall a great pub, good food, friendly environment and value for money meals. Highly recommended.

Only gave 5 star so you would read.. Staff were extremely rude, taking our plate before we had finished eating both during main meal and desert, no offer of desert or coffee, (we had to ask) and when we asked, were told coffee machine was turned off before 9 and that our coffee would be cold (after our order was taken) Kitchen Staff turned lights off on us in dining room as they were leaving (at approx 9.30) Obviously they couldn't wait to leave and were hurrying us all night. Don't recommend!!! Will not return!!!

What a beautiful old inn and pub. The meeting place of Clarkfield. Loved it's quaint charm including the ring game and the coin betting machine. Amazingly delicious and fresh food for very reasonable prices. Would definitely go back again.

Unfortunately when I went to clarkefeild the pub was shut as it only opens on Wednesday through to Sundays. Camped at the oval with out any issues after a police visit . It's no longer in use apparently. Oh well until next time the pub review on the inside and service goes without knowing.
