Comments of Cup of Truth

It was a bit hard for me to find this place. Because it's located an underground train near Flinders Street Station.
Most of customers have ordered for takeaway because this cafe is small and especially it's quite busy in the morning.
I ordered 3 coffees which are cold brew and piccolo.
Both of them that I got was really nice taste and Barista was so friendly.
He has a great knowledge about coffee and very kind to me.
Coffee beans just come from Brazil and Ethiopia which is espresso blend as usual.
Give it a shot. I think it will suit your taste hopefully!!
Thanks for a wonderful coffee!!
P. F.
My go to coffee place in the Melbourne CBD. Perfect after getting off the train and walking to the office. The specialist coffee flavour is very unique and I love it.

A hole-in-the-wall cafe in Flinders Station. Coffee was pleasantly strong, but creamy. It had this strong bitter/acidic aftertaste which went really well together. Barista was very lively and knowledgeable. Personal favourite!
A. S.
My Barista teacher recommended this Cafe shop. Hiding at the Station underpass. Even the underpass smell didn’t well. But the coffee is really good.

A simple and brilliant concept .....
Find a Basement where people have to walk pass everyday in "the Central" of the Most Livable City in the World; Flinders St Station ....no space for table & chair, no worries, it means no table service needed, setup an open counter, put in a great espresso machine, find good coffee beans and look for a gun barista with Tattoos and beards (just kidding on the last one).
And a legend is born.
Always very smooth, balanced and consistent Soy Latte and fruity Short Mac single origin, just great!
It's one of those place that you make excuses to be on the train to go to the City.
B. N.
I've experienced coffee all over the World: Italia, Espania, Chile, Japan, Colombia, Argentina, France, Peru.....this place is easily in my top 3 in the World. Amazing! Know their coffee, how to make it perfectly and are genuine souls
T. B.
A welcome sight after struggling through peak hour trains, and the coffee quality stacks up with the best!
J. W.
Busy little place, two guys going mad with orders and a master barrister behind the coffee machine, but despite the seeming madness of the people ordering the server was polite and nice and the coffee, which I got in about 2 min, is excellent, really smooth and not a note of bitterness.

TLDR: BEST COFFEE I HAVE TASTED BY FAR: BEST GEM OF A LOCATION TO MY COMMUTE TO WORK: NO BS OR TIME WASTED: PAY FOR YOUR COFFEE AND WALK AWAY.
During my early morning commutes to work and an accidental right turn out of Flinders st station. I walked past this little nook, yet I back tracked as if something was pulling me back... It was my instincts telling me to give it a try... and try I did... It is seriously no words can describe the gem of a place. I ordered my usual 1 Large Flat White Coffee with no Sugar, paid it with Paypass and just waited around they were really busy yet they were able to hold conversations with people close by. Coffee was ready, I grabbed it and held it in my hands took a quick snapshot, *exhibit a* walked up the stairs to be amazed at where I ended up.
I did not drink the coffee straight away.. I just held it in my hands, it was nice and warm. Something strange about this coffee... I didn't want to drink it straight away because I was afraid it might be too hot or it might be burnt milky taste or acidic like some other places... A little time has passed by as I walked past the Walker's Doughnut shop... thinking to myself this will be my next try....
As I readied my body to drink the coffee I pursed my lips and took a sip. My eyes lit up (i'm asian btw 16:9 ratio vision) and my taste buds felt the warm flow of deliciousness filling in my mouth... the next thing I know I had no more coffee I inadvertently drank it all coffee without thinking or stopping... The right Warmth the right texture no burnt milk it just went down so easily and it'll probably go out the other way once I finish this Post. But Seriously I'm telling everyone in the office about this place just for the fact that subjectively I believe this is one of the best I've ever had in a very long time.

what a hidden gem! to think that i have lived here for 22 years and not know about this place! truly excellent coffee, guys, love it!
G. F.
Hidden coffee gem under Flinders Street station. Well worth the trip. Single origin options available for the coffee purists.
J. K.
The staff abused me, then they poured me a delicious coffee.
Will return.
R. S.
Coffee good, must have again
R. T.
Great coffee, lovely vibes and extremely friendly service!
N. R.
Great coffee, fast service and friendly baristas! If you're new to Melbourne exploring the coffee shops, try a cup at Cup of Truth!
(Avoid the nearby overrated Dukes Roasters. Go instead to Cup of Truth, a couple of minutes walk down the road. )
P. W.
Good, strong, dark roast coffee but slightly slightly burnt, and relatively expensive for a hole-in-the-wall take-away only place
J.
My favourite coffee in all of the lands. Whenever I am feeling particularly grumpy on a weekday morn I head here for my morning coffee and am instantly in a better mood. My colleagues owe their lives to Cup of Truth.
Aside from the deliciousness the people that run COT are always smiling and up for a chat.

What a delicious 🤤 cup of truth. For real. That’s why I love reading peoples reviews. When Melbourne is supposed to b the capital of Australia for the best coffee u wanna b drinking it while ur visit right?
I had a Large almond latte and let’s be true, it is the businesses that they have set out to rule. It was on point. Thanks team for an awesome cup of goodness to start my day. I truely loved it. Thank you
M. H.
Excellent coffee and always really fast. Definitely recommend them :)
s. Z.
Compact coffee shop serving proper coffee in a friendly and efficient manner. It took me a while to find it as I was looking in the wrong place. It's underground in the subway from Flinders Street Station.
A. K.
A quick visit to this unassuming hole in the wall sets my spirits up for the whole day! I usually avoid heading into the CBD like the plague, especially at peak hour, but if it does have to happen, I always look forward to my first stop being a coffee from here.
The coffee itself is consistently wonderful, and miles better than almost anywhere above ground. But the real delight is that amidst the hustle and chaos, you’re always served by the most charming gentleman, who has a real knack for dishing out a hearty scoop of good cheer through even the tiniest exchange.
I also appreciate how much character they’ve managed to create in such a small space, down to some really tiny details. Their system for cash payments is a nice change to the norm, and the addition to their Square Reader for card payments is hilarious!
V. Y. H.
Easily the best, most reliable barristers in Melbourne and that's saying a fair bit.
They're efficient, they know their product and they know how to handle large volumes of orders well without sacrificing quality or speed of service.
And they're bloody hilarious, unless they're telling dad jokes. (though your opinion may vary)
M.
Used to be my favorite coffee place on my way to work, but got really disappointed recently. There are normally two guys there one big tall handsome and happy one, and the other one is shorter and skinnier.
For twice that my experience were quite bad with the skinnier one.
First time, I got a golden color coin mixed in my wallet and I didn't notice this and put in their cup of payment. This guy took it out and throw it to me and just look at me like I did this by purpose. I was so embarrassed as there were many people around.
Second time just a few days ago, I paid by card and this guy was busy talking with another customer and didn't check on his app for the payments. Then he turns to me ask if I have paid for it. I said yes as I saw the payment went though on his phone. But he insist that there payment didn't go through and want to charge me again. So I had to show him the transaction my online banking. This was very rude and ridiculous.
Have to say the coffee is really nice and I quite like the big tall happy guy, especially in the winter morning.
Hopefully this feedback will help the other one to improve his respect and attitude to the customers, even to the ones that he doesn't think are important.
C. A. M.
Absolutely magnificent coffee. I really should come here more often. Love the fact that it is tucked away in the subway. Oh, and the service is outstanding.
C. B.
Top coffee & delicious pastries served by super hunks. If you like your coffee strong , black and powerful this is the go to place. situated in lovely, heritage listed campbell arcade (home of beloved indie jewellery shop Corky Saint Clair). well worth a visit.
C. E.
A very good customer of mine in chch, nz had recommended this place and let me tell you that on our coffee tour of Melbourne, this was one of the highlights. A pair of jolly men were behind the counter having mad banter with their regulars, but acknowledged us when we approached and were well attentive. Suggested a single origin Ethiopian for our blacks and they didn't disappoint. If we lived in melbs, we would be those regulars. Keep up the good work fellas. Simple, friendly, tasty.
C. M.
Amazing coffee and great chit chat with the baristas. My go to place when in this part of town
J.
One of the best places to get a coffee in Melbourne, as well as very nice blokes who're happy to have a chat. The location is very convenient, being so close to Flinders st station, perfect to get one going in to the city, or coming out.
C. C.
Maybe the smallest “hole in the wall” coffee space in Melbourne. Open from around 6am during the week; lively team serving probably the best coffee on Flinders Street.
Single Origin and Blended beans available from Axil Roasters.
K. H.
This little hole in the wall is one of Melbourne's best hidden gems. Located in the subway below Degraves St just off Flinders St, it is a must if you love your coffee served with an upsize of personality!
Courtney and Jon can simultaneously hold a conversation with multiple regulars of which there are many whist pumping out order after order for the morning rush. And the coffee..... mmmmmmmm
J. P.
Great coffee and no fuss in a convenient location - a Melbourne classic! The guys are always great for a good chat, and magically remember what everyone ordered.
M. V.
Barista rocks! Nice coffee and even better chat away from the busy - ness over ground :)
E. G.
Always delicious coffee! The baristas remember my order and provide prompt friendly service even during peak hour rush into the city
K. C.
Delicious and the customer service was very good. We really enjoyed ourselves when we were at this location. The decor was lovely. The chairs and tables were very comfortable and the food and drinks were very good! Very happy!
H. R.
Smells terrible down there. Takes away from coffee and service.
Definitely an experience
L. M.
Whenever I have the time to get off the train a stop early, I do just to stop in here. Great coffee. Great people. Try the single origin.
M. M.
BEST coffee EVER! Courtney and Jon will remember your order from day one and always provide fantastic banter. I can't recommend highly enough.
S. A.
Single-origin coffee is the cup de jour here. The vibe is subterranean, the cold-drop and single-origin coffees are legendary, and the queue is filled with regulars.
K. M.
I love stopping in here to see the "the boys"! Always up for a friendly chat while they make a quick coffee. A small selection of bakery items but not usually any savory options.
J. K.
I love this shop. It's in a great location, their coffee is delicious and the staff is always really friendly. I make a point of stopping by whenever I'm in the area.
H. H.
The only thing warmer and lovelier than the baristas is the coffee!
T. A.
My Favourite little hole in the wall cafe in all of Melbourne. Ever takeaway coffee i have had from this place has been consistently fantastic.
T. W.
This is what people are referring to when they talk about Melbourne's coffee-culture. Tucked away in an underground subway tunnel, serving excellent coffee with great service and using an honesty-system for payment.
J. K.
Solid coffee spot, pretty funny guys working there. Very cool hidden location. They could use some better food options aside from pure sugar.
W. D.
Neat little hole in the wall cafe down in the metro entrance. Really good service and great coffee.
E. C.
I've never been here. I walk over the top of it every day from Flinders st to my work, it would seem Google has an issue with altitude.
O. R.
Do not be fooled by the appearance of this place. It is a very good drop -- one of the best coffees in Melbourne.
T. H.
