I have been coming here somewhat frequently over the last 2-3 months - probably much to the exasperation of the staff, haha - and have been given nothing less than the VIP treatment by the team, all whilst they consistently maintain a perfect grasp of professionalism that many other bars seem to be sorely lacking. They'll greet me by name when I wander in, they'll already be pouring my favourite beverage before I sit down and they'll always make sure I've bloody well checked in. This isn't aimed at a select few of the staff either, but the staff entire. I've no idea where you managed to get this fantastic collective of employees from, but I'll be honest with you, I've worked in a lot of bar and restaurants over the years and seeing a team work this well together is both incredibly rare and glorious to behold. Thanks guys.

Love this place. It's an institution in the area and you're always guaranteed a great cocktail and an intro to some new tunes. Bar seats are good or if you're lucky you can snag a booth + you can order pizza from next door and bring it in. Amazing wallpaper in the loo too!

Very cool bar with a great drinks menu and friendly staff. You can find a quiet corner or take in the vinyl action sitting at the bar. The night can be what you make of it here and nobody passes any remarks or judgements. Would love to have more bars like this in Melbourne.

Probably the best bar in northcote. Great music and staff. It feels like a real local. It can get quite packed so finding a seat is hard when it's busy so I recommend going early. They are open late and the staff are super friendly. Great drink selection that isn't pretentious. Only 2 beers on tap but they are always well selected. Great vibe

My old favourite haunt. Visiting Melbourne for the weekend after moving away, and I'm very pleased to find Joe's is everything I remembered. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Selection of beverages excellent - we tried a salty sherry and a cherry ale. Music fabulous, we harassed the bar staff frequently for the name of tracks the DJ was playing! Great vibes, very low lighting, busy but not crowded, music good volume for conversations. The only thing I would fault is unfortunately the open door to the back funneled the smoke from the courtyard through the venue. Not something I see an easy solution to. Will continue to return when in town.

I love this bar - the cocktails are delicious and there is a huge selection of carefully chosen wines by the bottle or glass - the outdoor area at the back is fun and the polished concrete floor, elegant curved bar and booths for sitting with friends and having a yarn are all fabulous. I would really recommend Joes for a fun night out - you can get delicious pizza from next door brought through to you which is a great accompaniment for the drinks. The staff are wonderfully friendly and passionate about what they do and would bend over backwards to make you feel welcome and part of the ‘Joes’ family.

Friendly bartender, cozy bar and a nice beer garden. The beer on tap was good and generous serving of nuts and pretzels in a bowl ordered on the side! Located near the Northcote town hall tram stop so you wouldn’t miss it. Will definitely return!

Joe's is an oldie but a goodie :) So many fun times spent here over the years eating (pizzas from next door), drinking (killer wine list and cocktails), and making merry (always great tunes playing). Such a cosy local bar, not many like this in Melbourne.
