There is good pub food and there is OK pub food. The Limerick Arms Hotel on a Friday night is a busy place. COVID protocols were in place with check in at the door and bar staff asking every time you ordered a drink whether you’d checked in. As a family of 5 we ordered a number of Limerick Parma’s, Porterhouse Steak and the Trevalley. Big serves but unfortunately quantity won out over quality. The chicken Parma was a 3 out of 5. The Porterhouse Steak was well done when medium was the order - 3 stars. The Trevalley however was a real let down. How do you say this delicately - it just wasn’t fresh. That’s unforgivable. Accompanied by chips and limp salad. Presentation of all dishes was ho hum. Be aware also this place is loud. So loud we had to shout at each other to be heard across the table. Overall 3 out of 5.

What a comfy pub. We had a late lunch here on a Wednesday in early January, I think it was about 3pm and they had no problems serving us meals at that time of day. Really good pub food. Great beer selections. Happy, friendly staff. My partner was happy because they had the cricket on their screens ;)

Really friend service and enjoyable atmosphere. Seafood pasta is so tasty I love the source a lot. Lamb rib is amazingly good. Steak is a little bit cooked over and taste boring...but potato is incredible delicious which is funny. Very decent and enough potion.

My other local pub. Friendly and quick service. Good food and drinks selection, minimalist interior yet pleasant environment. MTV playing yet not intrusive. Recommend the Chicken Schnitzel, comes with lemon wedge, mild spicy coleslaw and potato fries. Try the Willi Smiths Organic Cider, cloudy style, not sweet and refreshing.

One of the handful of mixed pubs in South Melbourne. Came here to escape the rain before a bikeride home. Pint of Killarney was $14 which is on the average side for Melbourne areas. Pub has a nice "local" vibe. Which i would describe as a nice mix in-between some of the more rough pubs in the area and the overly ritzy, expensive pubs.

Fabulous South Melbourne pub. Always well decorated and very clean interior, it looks like they have recently freshened up. Great beer selection with some uncommon choices (the ginger beer is so refreshing on a hot day). Really good food, very welcoming overall.

As a single person, I rarely cook a roast as there is no point. So when I saw the Instagram deal of 2 roasts plus roast vegies, I jumped at the chance. Living locally, I have been here before but not since 2017. This 'more than a pub' is a great place to have have a coffee and cake, a cocktail or an evening meal. But since we are in lockdown, I'm so glad they deliver their menu and specials to us at home so we can enjoy their hearty food and keep supporting local business. Ordering through their website cuts out the middle man, and you know that one of their staff is delivering the food, and the delivery charge [$10] will go to that staff member—what a great incentive. I ordered the single mix of slow-cooked lamb roast, crispy pork belly accompanied by rosemary potatoes, pumpkin, peas, and carrots. Plus, in little containers on the side were gravy, mint, and apple sauces. $25 *As a thank you there was a slice of their sticky date pudding, which was delectable and the caramel sauce criminally good. What arrived was packaged carefully, COVID safe, and was a tasty feast fit for a queen. It was a treat to have a Sunday roast, let alone a piece of crunchy crackling, succulent roast lamb, and well-cooked pork belly. Worth your order.

Good food, ambience and service. Salt and pepper squid - not crispy like usually but nonetheless enjoyable and well-cooked. Star dish must have been the lamb ribs - they were perfectly tender. Salmon was well-done but i still enjoyed it. Only thing I couldn’t get through were the tomatoes it came with, which were sour. Partner also enjoyed his chicken very much. The accompanying red wine paired well. Incredible value from using a voucher, left very satisfied.

Solid pub food and drinks. 5 star its not but if you like decent pub grub and a few drinks. It great. Always busy but staff are great and although it is a bit AFL oriented when it comes to footy I dont hold that against them. Though it would be nice if they could make allowance for the rugby union.

A great corner pub with a long history in the area. Huge open area downstairs with doors that open onto both Park and Clarendon st. Plenty of room as you can see by the pic taken on McGregors come back fight. The staff are friendly and very fast with the service. Food is typical of pub fair - food snacks and larger meals. They have some amazing weekday specials Monday through Thursday.

Great environment and very helpful & friendly staff. The food was ribs for entree, was just so delicious! However, the parma was a huge let down, as it was very, very average (try using thigh instead) dry, not much sauce, cheese overcooked and the worst mash potato I have ever had. The wooden floors make it very noisy, though it is brilliant for watching the footy!

Great food, friendly service, good atmosphere. Been here a several times. Enjoyed each and every time. Most of the dishes were good and quality was almost the same each time. Very consistent. 1/ the lemon pepper calamari was fresh, sweet and real rather rubbery 2/ the lamb shank was tender, juicy and not rough 3/ the pan fried salmon was fresh, juicy and perfectly cooked. Great timing 4/ the lamb ribs were good 2 out of 3 times, they were too fatty at one time 5/ the Southern chicken ribs were good most of the time, they were a bit oily at times 6/ the parma serving was huge, the egg was a bit too raw to our liking, and sadly the chicken was overcooked that day, it was dry and rough. We did not try this dish again 7/ the desserts were good, both the brownie and pudding were not overly sweet Overall, great food, solid quality, friendly service and value for money.

This pub has a great selection of draught beers. The atmosphere is very relaxed. During my visit there were children spread out on a table (family friendly) although I found it difficult to find a place to sit. We were there in a Groupon voucher. The food was very good and the selection of what we could eat from the Groupon menu was also good. I settled for the 300g steak. It was very good. My friend seemed for the burger and chips. The verdict - most enjoyable.

Was craving for some steak on Friday and came across the 2 course deal on Groupon. The first serve that I received had an unwanted piece of plastic. Once told about this, the waitress removed the plate immediately without questions and got it replaced. The second serve was perfectly cooked medium rare; tender and juicy. Despite the slight hiccup, we had a great evening and finished up with amazing desserts. Definitely will be back for more! Great customer service and value for money!

Nice pub with good value feeds. Tuesday nights is burger night for $10 which is bang on. Service is generally ok but can be up and down as they are normally transient staff and a lot don’t know what they sell except for what’s on tap. Upstairs function area has a little bar and is a great space if you have a birthday etc

The sticky date pudding was one of the best I've had and the streak tasted calamari tasted great too. Unfortunately the salmon was lacking and it was very noisy as the bar is open plan to the bistro. The entrees , main courses and desserts were enjoyed by everyone- with the exception on my chicken Parma- it was huge but very dry, chips were crisp and the coleslaw average. We would go back. Easy to book last minute, also used a groupon plus paid for additional people which was no fuss. Arrived and the place was really quiet, the waitress was efficient, didn’t need to write down everything and remembered who ordered what but would be nice to see her smile and look like she wants to be there. Waited ages for entrees, we were about to each ourselves and then same for mains and burgers were coming out left, right and centre. Waited 50 mins for mains, lucky we allowed 90 mins for parking. Parma was dry and nothing special but the salmons our party said was pretty good.

GROUPON: My partner and I loved our evening at Limerick Arms. Entrees were large portions and tasted excellent... Chicken Rib sauce was quite spicy but we knew that it was coming! Lamb Shank was MASSIVE and cooked perfectly (highly recommend). Parma was okay.. tasted like a pizza’ry sauce and was slightly oily but a Parma is a Parma can’t complain! Dear Limerick Arms Hotel, I was devastated by the criminally small coleslaw portion with my limerick parma. The coleslaw origins can be traced back as far as the ancient Romans, who served a dish of cabbage, vinegar, eggs and spices. The Dutch who founded New York state grew cabbage around the Hudson River that they used in a shredded cabbage salad they called koosla. These days, it is an integral part of a side dish to many meals, including the Australian staple pub meal, chicken parmigiana, the "parma". I am embarrased to admit I had to take the coleslaw portions off of three of my friends and it was JUST enough allotment of coleslaw to adequately get through my meal.

The friendliest staff and patrons you'll find in any inner city pub/bar. Great food too - the new Chef has created a fantastic arrangement, with daily specials to mix it up. The best place in Melbourne to watch sports (especially AFL and UFC). Open fireplace for winter and outdoor seating for smokers/warm nights. Happy hour schooners from 4 - 6 every day, and live music and cheap pints every Friday. Great place.

Ah this was my local pub for ages. I love that they have furphys and Guinness on tap. The kitchen is usually open quite late and there Parma is in particular ace. I would definitely recommend the Parma with guac jalepenos and sour cream.

Staff and Service are a 10/10! Venue 10/10 List of drinks also fantastic. However, the food is very middling by pub standards. Salads were salty and I requested a medium rare steak and it was well done and a bit burnt? I wouldn't be advertising that I was a steak house if the steaks are going to be quality that I had. The Parma was significantly better though! Go for the ambience, drinks and the parma!
