Fox has a great function space upstairs with city views. Allowed me in to the venue earlier in the day to set up lighting and photo booth. Had a blast of a birthday with fantastic food and service from the bar staff throughout the night. Disappointed they didn't have one beer we had requested and that we had to pack up the AV equipment at the end of the night. (Would have loved to sort that out the next day.) All in all- we had an epic party and enjoyed the ample space across the two rooms (especially post Covid.) Thanks

Incredible service and best bar on Church Street. They accidentally double booked us on a Saturday night for a birthday and instead of sending us away, the event manager, Chrissy, opened the private room upstairs to accommodate us. Not only did it have great views, but we could put on our own tunes and had a private bar with bartender, Sarah, who was an absolute legend. Can’t recommend this place enough, we had so much fun!

Came here for a cocktail masterclass for a Hen's and we had an absolute ball!! We were well looked after by all the staff and their main focus was definitely providing a great experience for our group. The cocktails and masterclass were so much fun and I'd definitely come back here for another event or to have a beautiful cocktail. The venue was also gorgeous! Thanks for having us!

The only thing that could be improved is the cleanliness of the couches/booths at the back - they all seemed a bit dirty, probably because it was right after a busy Saturday night.

The functions manager was so friendly, helpful and accommodating to all our needs before the event, making it a really easy process to organise. I absolutely love this bar! We run a dance school across the road and we have made the Maeve Fox a permanent staple to our Friday night schedule with our students. Sometimes there's 10 of us and other times there's 20 of us going but even when they are really busy , they always manage to make us feel welcome and give us the absolute best service! We hosted our Engagement Party with Maeve Fox and found the whole experience easy and enjoyable. The flexibility to run a bar tab instead of a drinks package was a major plus, and the food went down a treat. Loved being able to customise the space to our need. Hi, I'd like to say how delighted we were with the Maeve Fox upstairs private function area for my 60th birthday party on Saturday night 18th May. Zoe was fantastic to communicate with in the organisation of the event, from arranging viewing of the venue to organising the choice of food, drinks, music, balloons and photos. The two rooms - bar area and the elegant sitting room worked very well indeed for our group of about 60 people. It allowed people to enjoy dancing in the bar area where a DJ set up, but also allowed people to relax and talk easily in the sitting room. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar area itself has a great atmosphere with windows offering city views. The toilets were very clean and there was an area for hanging coats. We uploaded some photos on dropbox which were shown continuously on a screen in the bar room. Last but not least of course, the food! It was delicious - plenty of variety and quality. Also the quality of the alcohol on offer was very good and reasonably priced. So a big thank you from my husband and I again to the staff for helping to make the occasion a great success! We hired upstairs for a 40th birthday. The food was excellent. Our bar tab lasted a very long time. The staff were helpful and friendly. The sound system was very good. Organising the function was easy. We appreciated being able to walk in with a minimum of fuss and party!

We were given great food and drink options to choose from and were never pressured into selecting the wrong catering package. Venue is elegant and cool. Required very little extra party decoration. 🙃 Love Maeve Fox 🙃 Locals looked after 7 days a week, cocktails rock, always has a drink special or two on different days of the week!! The Bar snack dumplings are some of the best dumplings I’ve had in Melbourne!! We booked a work function here a while ago which was flawless, and I’ve been coming back here ever since. Ps. They never forget your birthday either once you’ve become a local member.... 😘 10/10 For one of Melbournes best bar and cocktails lists!

I had my 30th party there last week. What an awesome night they put on. Planning and organisation was amazing. Sam took care of everything and her advice on catering and decorations were spot on. Going into the night was so easy and relaxing having a running sheet and schedule in place that both myself and the staff planned and knew. The staff on the night were fantastic. Nothing was an issue and they were so happy and accommodating with any request. At one point I dropped a beer and before I had a chance to say anything they wiped it up and poured me a new one. The food was amazing and there were no platters sitting around. There were staff walking the food around all night and every tray went back empty. All my friends were complimenting it the following days and the pork belly is a must! The venue is an excellent size for 80-100 people and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this place for any function or party. It has the relaxed Richmond vibe with the professionalism and classiness of a quality city bar!

I went hunting for Maeve Fox after hearing rumours that everything was half price all night, every Sunday night. It's true! This bar has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and a delicious cocktail menu. I also tried some higher quality tequilas because at half price - why not?! I would definitely recommend this bar and plan to go check our their Friday night drink specials very soon.

Hosted our daughters 21st in the upstairs room July/18. From the first contact Simon was efficient and communication was prompt. Suggestions regarding food was spot on( may I add the canapés were delicious and several guests remarked on how good they were).Plenty of good wines and beers to choose from to set up our bar tab. We tended to follow Simons recommendations regarding timing of speeches ,cutting cake etc. The night flowed. The space was more than large enough for our 80 guests. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. No hesitation in recommending Maeve Fox. Would certainly host another function here. I held my wedding reception here and was so happy with this amazing bar and its incredible staff. From the start the staff were so accommodating and friendly. Even though we had a smallish group, we were still given a lot of attention (e.g emails and phone calls returned promptly). On the night the bar staff were amazing, and even remembered my drink order (and that of my husbands). It was great not having to ask for it every time. The food was brought out promptly and quickly as well - keeping our guests very satisfied. The food here is delicious and is made onsite. We were provided with a complementary tasting in the lead up to the event, and even met with the chef to discuss options. This is outstanding service, considering Maeve Fox is a bar. We were not expecting that kind of service and were delighted that it seemed to be the norm. The upstairs area, is perfect for any kind of event, including a wedding! Speeches were held in front of the open fire place, with dance floor in the room that has uninterrupted views of the city skyline. Could not be happier with the service I have received from Maeve Fox. I strongly recommend anyone looking for a function space to give these guys a shot!

We recently hosted a party upstairs at Maeve Fox and had a spectacular night! The venue is great for large or small functions, with two rooms (the dancing room and the conversation room) plus private toilets and bar for guests. The view out to the city was amazing as the evening set in, the food was delicious (so many compliments on the wagyu beef dumplings and the sliders!) and the espresso martinis and southside cocktails went down a treat. Prices were amazingly reasonable, the staff were so helpful and we had an amazing night. Thanks to Sam for her help with organising, Kieran for his expert service on the night and the whole Maeve Fox team for making it really special. We will be back!

I just celebrated my 40 th birthday ‘Flashy and Forty’ last Sunday night at the beautiful Maeve Fox function in the upstairs space. I would like to have a big shout to Teash and Simon and team for making my 40th event so special. Everyone enjoyed the delicious catering and they kept complimenting on the variety of food that covered all dietary requirements. Both spaces we effective so if people wanted to move away from the bar area where music was playing they could go into the lounge area which allowed for more conversations.
