This was our first time here, and definitely coming back again. We booked a table for dinner and were greeted by very friendly staff. We ordered the vegetarian Linguini in tomatillo’s salsa, and the Chicken Parmigiana with fries (they call them Bad Boy chips!). Both were cooked to perfection, and we enjoyed them very much. Great beer selection, and an amazing vibe. This place is huge!

Me and my friends are always coming there for drink few cocktails. The other day I had the best Pornstarr Martinti and Long Island Ice Tea, we ordered at lest 5-6 times. The barman was a very handsome young man called Angelo. Customer service was top notch. Beautiful atmosphere and other staff are friendly as well. We will definitely come again to taste his amazing cocktails and to see him.

This is our go-to place considering the proximity of my accommodation and work place. The nicest staff and not much hanky-pank along with decent cocktails. My friends and I love to grab a mid-week drink and play a little bit of scrabble whenever we can and our experience has always been pretty great!

Met here for a reunion. Easy access via tram or rail and central to everyone. Multi level vfc el but has escalators and lifts. Wheel chair friendly. Male and female toilets. Disabled toilets. Large kitchen serves bar meals and restaurant. Prices reasonable. Well staffed who are polite and curtious.

Love the doorman!! Very frieny with fantastic personaloty & good sense of humor. When most people are frustrated at having to oversee COVID check in, he made ot an upbeat experience & put a smile on my face. Pity that didnt last at the pokies.... 😭. Venue is accessed from ground level & then you go down one level via escalator. There are a good number of tables & a decent pokie area with variety of machines. The staff do clean the machines regularly however a lot of machines appear to be unsanitised as they have a sign on them telling you to ask a staffember to clean the machine before commencing play. The overall feel of the venue was what you would expect drom a late night gamblimg place with dark lighting throughout. There are toilets inside which appear to be very clean always.

The Mail Exchange Hotel is in a terrific location, directly opposite southern cross station, with plenty of foot traffic. Upon entry you're greeting with a large bar and seating area, which is very comfortable and convenient. Bar staff could be a little friendlier however wait staff were prompt and cheery.

Great location for a pre-game drink, friendly bar crew with a massive variety of drinks, they do a great cocktail too. Live band/singer on Friday nights are great and atmosphere is awesome when the place is pumping. Food looked good, though I tend to only pop in for drinks pre/post games at Marvel Stadium. Pokies are the only eye sore here, could do without it.

Surprisingly amazing food, good atmosphere and staff are awesome. We had dinner there, watched the footy live on their screen, and stayed for hours, when originally we just went there to use as a meeting spot to meet friends and play the pokies for 20 minutes. This place is excellent if you want to play pokies and enjoy a great drink. But to go out for food and and a drink, having the pokies buzzing next to you is rather distracting. But for a night out on the pokies.... The perfect place!

The Mail Exchange Hotel is the number one pub on my favorites list, from it's convenient location in Melbourne CBD, being across the road from Southern Cross Station, a short walk to Crown Casino or just plainly for the great and reasonably priced food they serve through to it's great atmosphere. The staff are always very friendly, they're a hard working and dedicated crew - including security on the entrance who have always welcomed me in with a smile! It has this super cool setting of being in a basement, you walk down the stairs or a trip down the short escalators and are met with a large bar and a huge gaming/sports area on one side or a more quiet and reserved restaurant area on the other. The smoking area out back is also great, for those inclined. The menu is typical pub fare, the quality is always exceptional and meals arrive in a rapid fashion. There is a HUGE selection of drinks on tap too, including beers like Carlton Black which is a bit hard to find around Melbourne. I regularly travel from regional Victoria into Melbourne CBD solely to go to the Mail Exchange Hotel - a great night in the city always starts here, great for a sport crowd, to corporates types and everyone in-between!

Large venue great for watching sport or having a drink pre/post game. I wouldn't recommend visiting if you aren't a sports fan as it can be very loud, but if you are then you are sure to find other fans celebrating and having a laugh.

I like the various spaces throughout the venue, even just the main bar and sports bar area is spacious, I haven't had a meal here only drinks, but they are typical prices you would expect from similar places, the lady seving at the bar early evening on 24/1 was most friendly and it is this sort of service that makes me want to write a review.

Basically a mini casino in a beautiful old building: so many poker machines and a great big TAB area. It smells like the air freshener they spray in "VIP" lounges. Otherwise, the staff are friendly, and drinks are okay priced.

A hidden treasure right across from Southern Cross station. Visited with friends who were in the know and we stayed and stayed. The food (in my case, barramundi) was cooked to perfection and I just wished I'd had a side order of the bad boy chips as they looked very appealing. Generous serves, reasonably priced. Add on a comprehensive drinks menu, plenty of chilled table water and very pleasant and responsive staff. I hope to be back for another visit soon. A comfortable atmosphere to get away from it all.

I've come here several times now and it was for some small evening events. It just doesn't do it for me. Too noisy. But - that's the only down side. The food that we are served is fabulous with generous portions. The staff are oh so helpful and will bend of backwards to do anything for you. It's location is excellent for public transport and after 6.30pm you can find some free parking - you just have to look hard for it. There are many parts to the Mail Exchange and often see work groups, bingo groups, mini meetings happening or just catch ups. Well worth a visit.

Very fancy for a TAB/pokies joint. Too fancy in many ways. However, they serve pub snacks till 3am. I thought $10 for a toasted sandwich was a big ask but it was excellent and came with chips which were also excellent. Staff are great. Perfect location near the southern Cross station this is a no frills pub with great beers and nice food options. This place is converted from a old prison and had a unique ambience. With large screens with world cup soccer, this place is perfectly enjoyed with friends and good beer. I go there often and enjoy the craft beers on tap. Have some great options for Australian as well as international beers on tap.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. My GF and I went here because I have an Entertainment Book voucher. Upon arrival, I was a bit disheartened to see poker machines - not often combined with good food, and something I loathe the existence of. BUT! The wait staff were perfect - attentive, but not invasive, the food came quickly, the prices were good (especially since we got a discount), but most of all the food was EXCELLENT. I ordered a steak with veggies and chips and the Macedon ranges peppercorn sauce and OH MY. I often eat most of my veggies first. They were so very fresh, perfectly cooked, and seasoned beautifully. The steak was very nice, but the sauce... wow. Just wow. On top of that the chips were of a very high standard, and I could hardly believe I was eating this quality of meal in a venue with poker machines. My partner's salmon (on risotto) was also very good - lovely intricate flavours and an interesting combination. I strongly recommend both of these meals.

I attended a Navy Reunion at Mail Exchange last night. The venue is great, right in heart of Melbourne. Canapes were really good. Not your usual party pies and sausage rolls. Drinks a little expensive though

Drink prices are pretty standard for Melbourne. There is also a range of reasonably priced bar snacks available, so you can fill up a little pre game. Smoking area available.

Amenities include sports betting, poker machine gaming, big screen events of live sports and eftpos facilities. Suitable for one and all, a casual catch-up, meeting with corporate clients, travellers, tourists, shoppers and Marvel Stadium attendees. A gem of a find right on Melbourne's door step.

This is an odd one. We went there for a truffle degustation dinner not knowing the venue. It's a proper pokies pub with a bistro. The food was pretty good and on point for the price but think of this as great for that type of bistro but don't expect one of Melbourne's fancier degustations. Drink specials were great. $10 espresso martini? Don't mind if I do. The food I had...not so good. The calamari tasted like it was from the freezer and then microwaved. Perhaps all the other salt n pepper calamari in the city has spoiled me. They don't bill it as SnP C as they shouldn't but it waa very disappointing the only good thing about it was the chips that were buried at the bottom. Then there were the "meatloaf" bites. I'm going to assume my disappointment is because I'm American and we define meatlof a different way. It was basically sizzle sausage cut in pieces...and I can see how sausage is a meat loaf of sorts...but it left a lot to be desired and I'd have been happier with Spam bites.
