What an absolute treasure of a pub. I haven't been here since I was a little kid. But since then it has had such a massive makeover and it is gorgeous. The interior is lovely with all the character of an old pub with modern touches. Clean and nicely renovated toilets. The back deck and lawn is fabulous. Great basic play area for the kids. Our visit was spur of the moment but it has left us excited to go back with family. The meals were also great. It's not a cheap pub, but you get what you pay for.

Panton Hill Hotel is located on the opposite side of, and in between Panton Hill and Smiths Gully General Stores. (Panton Hill, Smiths Gully and Kangaroo Ground General Stores are the 3 icons on the same side of the road!). The generous parking have attracted lots with motorbikes and cars! It has a big selection of indoor and outdoor seatings! I love their egg plant chips!! One is advised to book the outdoor dining due to generally less tables!

Love the make over the pub has had since I was there last. For me the outdoor area was the highlight. There are not enough pubs around with outdoor areas like this one with space, sprawling grass areas and views which makes this one special! The staff were friendly, provided great service and the meals our group had were all AMAZING!!

Came on a public holiday and it was the only place open in the area. It was quite busy and we had to sit in the sports bar which was fine. Staff were really friendly. Prices were on the high side but probably partly due to holiday rates. Chicken Parma is huge, also tasted pretty good.

Seriously GREAT county pub within easy reach of Melbourne. It is often busy, which is testament to the quality of the food, the atmosphere along with terrific friendly staff that go out of their way for you. The Brisket is my favourite meal, it is a share for two and comes with two sides.

Five of us came to Panton Hill Hotel on a Wednesday night. The hotel was bustling at 7pm when we arrived, which is testament to the popularity of the place. We ordered two chicken parmigiana, a garden salad, porterhouse steak, peach and prosciutto salad, spaghetti bolognaise and choc brownie for dessert. We ordered online by scanning a QR code, which eased the process and meant we didn’t need to wait for staff to attend to the table. Once we had ordered, the food was served quite promptly. The food not only looked good, but tasted really delicious too. Thank you to the waiters and cooks at Panton Hill Hotel. Next time I am in the area, I will make sure to come here for a bite again!

Great food, lovely staff and great kids play space. Book for the 430 sitting with 6 adults and 5 kids. Food was prompt but kids had time to play before and after the sitting. Only caveat is the gaps in the fence that lead down to 2 dams. Make sure your little ones are supervised or old enough to know better. Once it gets dark you can't see the past the fence so there's no temptation to go. Absolutely love it and will definitely go back

Three of us went for lunch on a Saturday. Was very busy outside and quite a few people in dining room. Service was quick though and the food was delicious. Steak cooked exactly as ordered. Fish and chicken were scrumptious. They also have Moët on the drinks menu...a definite plus if you're celebrating. Staff were all friendly. Would absolutely recommend.

Gorgeous old world pub with beautiful dark wood finishes, stained glass windows, fireplaces throughout and a serene outlook from the outdoor tables. Great beer selection and excellent menu. The grain salad with brisket was just delicious, the Parma was perfect. Will definitely be coming back to try the other items in the menu and take in all the charming atmosphere. Been here a couple of times and I have not been disappointed. I had the best beef ribs ever. They were juicy, tender and surprisingly rare. The cream corn sauce was really tasty. Paired with The Stag Heathcote Shiraz and a pint Guinness on tap, memorable! Heads up to Sam who poured a perfect Guinness pint.

Been a while since I’ve been to Panton Hill Hotel. The facilities have improved so much and it’s such a lovely atmosphere both inside and out. The food is superb! Definitely recommend the fish and chips. Will be coming back for sure!

Amazing!!! There is a massive grass area with a playground for the kids to go wild while you sit down and enjoy your meal. Only negative is the menu selection. There is some great options, however kids meals are expensive...$14 for nuggets and chips. Salad menu is underwhelming, however you can't go past their Parma!!

The Panton has gone through many changes in its historic lifetime, with some of them not to the benefit of this lovely building. However I am happy to say that the Panton Pub is now beginning to shine like the beacon of the hills it should have been years ago. Friendly staff, beautiful re furbished beer garden and surrounds. I've wanted to come here since moving to Eltham a year ago, purely on the basis of having Guinness on tap. It didn't disappoint. Clean glass, clean lines: it might have had a Bishop's Collar on it but it was like black silk going down the gullet. Tremendous stuff.

A perfectly nice local pub with decent food and decent service. They have live music some days, a very pleasant outdoor seating area, and accommodate group bookings well. The bar has a reasonable selection of wine and beer but limited spirits. The woman who greeted us seemed to be having an 'off' day, but the bar staff were particularly friendly. Overall, it was perfectly pleasant, if somewhat ordinary.
