We visit the tavern as our Friday night catch up and every single time we have come the food has been exceptional and the service has always been the best. We get looked after as we have become regulars and now it’s something we look forward to, to start off the weekend. Aimee and Liza were particularly great tonight making us feel welcome and their service was 5 star thank you ladies. Good service is not standard practice anymore unfortunately but I can honestly say we definitely have a great experience when we come to your restaurant. I want to give a shout out to Jess as well she wasn’t in tonight but she always looks after us when we come in. Thank you. Kind regards Jo.

We are now true regular customers' here. It's always fantastic food, friendly staff and great service. Jennifer is an absolute treasure and so helpful. Never have we had any problems with any staff member and any small complaint we may have had (can't get it 100% right every time) has been addressed and rectified. Would recommend this venue to anyone. Further to our previous review, we went back to the Plaza Tavern last Sunday 28/7/2019 and the lunch was so good we returned on Monday 29/7/2019. Jeff's lunches were stunning as always, I had the Moroccan Chicken which is quite out of my comfort zone but it was sensational and so I had it on the Monday as well. The Street Corn is to die for, presentation stunning, staff stunning, prices very reasonable and great service. Special mention to Jennifer who bends over backwards to make sure you're happy, but can't fault any staff member there. Great place.

Had my dad's 80th Saturday 22nd, 2020 with 176 guest. I just want to say thank you to Poppy and her team for the excellent service they provided. We had a lazy Sunday lunch here. My 5 yr. old daughter had the kids cheeseburger and loved it. I had the Calamari which was fresh and cooked perfectly. My partner had the Buffalo Wings, tasty and also cooked to perfection. Service was prompt and friendly. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. Competitively priced also, I would definitely recommend this place to families looking for a bite to eat in relative comfort without the huge dent in the hip pocket. Parking underneath with an elevator straight up to the Tavern for inclement weather or ease of access.

Called in for food and was not disappointed. Choose Porterhouse steak from the specials board and was cooked just as requested. The steak was melt in the mouth and cut like butter, opted for veggies and peppercorn sauce and again could not fault it. Managed to squeeze in a desert of Creme brulee and was delicious had a nice crunchy top which was a good sign. For 3 of us 2 courses each paid $97 dollars and was worth ever single dime.

Very good food and great specials. The food is excellent, especially for the price. The specials are great value and on offer just about every day. The atmosphere is a bit cold but thats mainly due to the design and layout of the whole venue, with a large and prominent portion of it being allocated to the poker machines. 3.5 stars.

We booked the function room for a wedding and it was excellent. The staff were lovely, very accommodating and a pleasure to interact with. Everything went really well, no hiccups at all. They went above and beyond. The food was very good also, everyone enjoyed themselves. I'd definitely recommend this place to others. The bride and groom were very pleased. This place is overlooked by people so much, it's a chill atmosphere, staff are very nice, and if I ever have a problem they fix it straight away. I recommend the duck ravioli entree if you want to try something with a huge kick of flavour. And buy one, get one free Desserts on Friday night is something you should take advantage of. Creme Brulee is nice.

We had a family birthday there on 15th December. All ages attended. Ryan was our host and we couldn't have wished for anyone better. He made us so welcome. Food was fabulous. Had dinner at the tavern on a Saturday night, had such a good dinner just couldnt resist leaving a review. Typically a hit or miss. We come here most Wednesdays for the Monty two-for-one. They change the menu way too much and often get rid of REALLY GOOD items. We also have trouble with one of the workers, Jennifer, who is slow on the registers and very blunt/snappy while serving. There have been many long waits for drinks, with us standing at the counter for upwards of ten minutes. The food, when they get it right, is decent for the price and the atmosphere is okay. We wish they'd make the lights brighter around table 28.

We recently performed a wedding gig at this venue and it was nothing short of awesome. The staff were great and venue looks amazing. The other thing we really liked were the acoustics and the big stage. Highly recommend it for any type of function that you might have in mind:)

Good food choices! Lots of delicious starters. Loaded fries, Scallops, Prawn Amatriciana pasta croquettes and daily specials. The wine listing was fair, options of Aussie and NZ wines. The service was good and food tasted great reasonably timed food service not too fast or too slow, the prices were little high for the pub and Hoppers considering you can have that type of meal elsewhere for more value for money, like Crown or in South-East Suburbs, Caulfield or St Kilda. Lovely ambiance though.

As an educator I have hired the conference facilities at the Plaza Tavern and found the staff extremely helpful and proactive with a very genuine warmth. The Events Manager Helen Nelson is an absolute gem of a professional operator who I would have on any of my teams. Can't recommend this place and Helen highly enough!

I went to the Manhattan Function Room for an awards ceremony which is on the 1st floor above the Plaza Tavern. The location is handy with plenty of parking. The staff and service is 5 star and they certainly go out of their way to meet your function needs, and as this was my second time there, I have to end this review on a disappointing note. The 1st time I went, I rated it 5 star because of all of the above and the food. However, this time it was the food that disappointed me.

The Tavern, a place where people of all different backgrounds, cultures and sexual orientation can come and be part of the crowd. There's still some small minded individuals but overall a great place to dine, drink, play pokies or watch the various sports events that are well catered for. Friendly staff especially the staff working the graveyard shift are always ready to help and serve you. Look for Mon, she's the lady to look for during the graveyard shift. She will help keep you in a good mood even when the machines aren't paying out. So come along and meet The Tavern family.

I recently had my 32nd birthday party at your amazing venue (Saturday 30th June). The fantastic team went above and beyond to ensure we all had a memorable evening. Special shout out to Ryan, one of the waiters who went above the call of duty and assisted us with obtaining a red chopping board for the birthday cake. It’s small gestures like this that you never forget. He also explained the specials of the evening in a very professional manner. Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

What an awesome meal!! The scotch fillet was cooked exactly as ordered, very juicy with a great charred flavor. The lamb rack was sublime!! Nice and pink, crispy skin and fat on the outside and the jus was silky rich flavoured goodness!! Coming back again!!

Great food the steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking... the chips were crispy with a lovely hint of peppery/ chilli powder on them... the salad was fresh crispy peice of cos with a lovely sweet dressing coupled with tomates, onion slices and a lovely soft marinated cheese on top... the veggie bowl was plentififul filled with baked potatoes roast pumkin and carrots, topped off with a peas smash...the garlic bread was crunchy buttery and garlicly on chibatta bread .... but the best was yet to come the panna cotta was to die for it was silky and smooth. ...the best part of going to monte's dinner its affordable and great value and the service was a ecceptional!
