Went out with the idea that any mediocre night out will feel like the adventure of a life time, but we were actually blown away with this beautiful venue. Y.Managed by a team of caring and passionate professionals, Spice Market recently catered for an event of mine, allowing us to take over the space to create the exact styling and mood we needed. It’s a great venue at the best of times, with this new era Moroccan styling and diverse menu. The space inside is huge, with a capacity of about 700 throughout the different spaces.
B. I.Had an amazing experience for my 25th birthday at Spice Market last night! All staff were amazing and extremely hospitable. We were made to feel very welcome by the door staff and security, the waitresses had excellent service and were very friendly. The venue itself is large and visually spectacular! Overall it was one of the best bar experiences Ive had in Melbourne and will definitely come again.

S.Hosted a hens night here and got one of the hens packages/rooms. The hens entertainment was fun and everyone had a great time.
The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food included in the package was amazing!
The package provides a nice amount of food and non-alcoholic drinks but you may want to add additional alcoholic drinks if you have a big drinking group.

u.Great place for after work drinks. Happy hour lasts till quite late and if you are in the mood for a big night it's the ideal place to go. You can go there after work have a few drinks and order food and buy the time you have loosened up with drinks the place turns into a fantastic night club. The bar staff make great cocktails but there serve time is slow and depending on the cocktail you ordered and how many other orders are ahead of you.. It might be a real long wait. Make sure you sign up as a member on their website prior to visiting as they often have great drink card specials i.e $30 for $100 drink card
K.Always a nice place to go after work for a drink. It's quiet early on so you can sit around and have a chat with friends. They get the after work crowd on Thurs Fri so gets nice and busy.

P. W.I Just had my 50th birthday at the Spice Market Night club and got 2 private Booths. The security made all my guests welcome they where amazing. The bar staff where fantastic, my personal host was amazing with me and my guest. I would also like to thank all the managers, event, bar and all the other managers for making my remarkable night .
J. C.Quite an interesting place to be. I don't go clubbing at all but if it's your first time like me, this is a good place to check out. This looks like a club for over the age of 35yo and above. It's good to see there is a club for older people and not just for young people. A place where you can just be yourself and enjoy it. Drinks are good. Cocktails cost an average of $18. That is all I had because I was driving a few people home. There was also a house special drink which cost $10. Ambiance was good. Though I wish there were more place to sit. Got really crowded by 10pm. Music was good. I believe dress code is strict so check out their website for the requirements before going and don't forget to bring your ID.

T. H.I was able to host my birthday at Spice Market in the Cleo lounge and I couldn't be happier with the result. I worked closely with the events manager, Chloe, throughout the planning process and she was there to answer any and all questions I had (she's also one of the friendliest events workers I've ever met). The venue itself is beautiful- photos don't do it justice. My guests all raved about the quality of the food and drinks- which I can definitely also attest to. I highly recommend this space for any special event you have coming up!

A. D.I've been here several times for drinks and the highlight for me is the stunning interior decor.
The service is always great too. The staff member behind the bar was very informative and let me know about all the specials on food and drinks. Our snacks (fried chicken and curly fries) came out quickly, and they were delicious - exactly what you would want while drinking.
However, I've ordered multiple cocktails here off the menu and they are not at all to my liking. The flavour combos are strange, and always taste overly sugary.
I would come back to Spice Market, but it definitely wouldn't be my first recommendation for a night out in the city. Also I'd stick to spirits and give the cocktails a miss.
B. E.Having been there a few years back was hoping for fun night of cocktails and music. After paying $20 for entry with free drink cards only to be told that they couldn’t be used for cocktails only beers didn’t make for a good start. Sorted that one and pretty average drinks for high prices in place that felt like an eastern block nightclub with large crowds of testerone fueled chaps eyeing of the their potential conquests. Hoping it goes back to the better times
S. S.Love the ambience. Bouncers greet you with a smile. If there is one thing to improve, that will be music. Some of the songs weren't really great to dance to. Hopefully, DJ can play some great music in future.

M. P.Spice market was gorgeous. The design itself is absolutely wonderful! Plus the drinks taste amazing! If you're looking for a classy and high up night club - Spice Market is a DEFINITE recommend. We were a group of 9 girls celebrating my sisters hens weekend and we even managed to get on their private guest list due to participating in Maison Burlesques hens class earlier that morning (which was amazing as well, so much fun).
There were 3 downfalls, unfortunately. The drinks were expensive. I mean we knew that they would be more pricey then a regular club but damn, IT WAS HELLA EXPENSIVE. Half of our group were uni students and poor enough already so I would recommend only going if you have the money, and I mean a lot of it. Secondly, all of the booths were closed off, which we knew that having a booth required a minimum spend commitment but there was so little seating everywhere else that we got quite uncomfortable very quickly. So if you're gonna go, be willing to book a booth before hand. And thirdly, There was no designated dance area. We literally just stood next to our couple of chairs (with our group of 9) and tried to dance a little but it made us very uncomfortable as we couldn't move properly without running into another closed off booth. We left (1 round of drinks) 45 minutes after entering the building because of these things. It was super sad because the place looked so good and the music was great! Such a shame.
Overall: Don't go if you don't have the money!

C. R.Usually a good night here, Spice Market has a great fit-out inside, very Middle Eastern or Persian kind of feel, well done there! Only drawback is sometimes the guy to girl ratio gets skewed and its 75% guys which no one really enjoys. Overall a good fun place to go on the weekend, would recommend.
P. R.Nothing but good things to say about this place. Was here for my first time on Saturday 11/05/2019 and was immediately taken back by the Service and smiles I was greeted with at the door. The most impressive thing all night was the bar attendant with pink hair and glasses who offered me their suggestion of a cocktail with Lemon and Honey when I couldn't decide what to drink. She was very quick to serve everyone who was at the bar and did it with a beaming smile. The music and atmosphere is second to none. Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a good night out in Melbourne.
D. J.First time ever to this club and did I have a great time! It was a Thursday night, and my friend and I went there to just have fun. The Doormen were polite and friendly, the bar staff professional and attentive, but what really impressed me was the venue. WOW! Upon entering the club I could not believe how amazing this club looked. The crowd was friendly, spoke to loads of people from different places and had boogie to the music. Can't wait to go there again.

A. S.Mid Winter Function held Cleo room at Spice market by my self and my brother was Amazing, the Staff from the beginning were very supportive and were willing to work with our needs. Mia was prompt in getting everything organized. Tessa was amazing on the day, she knew where we would need help with and was onto it. The rest of the staff on the night made the night flow smoothly. As with any event there are hiccups, these were mostly due to our gust list planning. When they occurred the Staff managed it well with respect to our guest. I would highly recommend the venue for guest up to 120 people. It was so good, that we didn't even want to go into the main club area. Will have another event there again. Well done to the Spice market Team.

S. H.Hosting a 21st birthday party was a great experience. Easy VIP access, etc, our family enjoyed the range of cocktails on offer. Great place if you have a function here, but as my children pointed out, everyone else seemed to be just taking photos for social media, hence the drop in rating for my review. I don't know how this bar is marketing themselves, or maybe they just attract a crowd that is caught up on their mobile phones putting pictures up on social media. Lead to a boring crowd, if not for the function.

S. T.I was so excited to experience Spice Market for myself after hearing what an amazing night some work colleagues had a few weeks before. We arrived straight after work for some food and drinks and were not disappointed! The food really impressed - I'll be back for some more arancini balls.
We continued on the night with some amazing cocktails. The staff serving us were attentive and friendly. I heard about the snow machine and lighting from my friends - we loved and it really contributed to the atmosphere of the venue.
Easily one of the best venue's I have visited for a while. I'll be back.

I have been attending Spice Market for a number of years and have never been disappointed. The renovations earlier this year have enhanced the vibe and character of the bar. The staff are always so helpful and are always willing to have a chat and are always polite. Highly recommend visiting. Happy hour specials are fantastic.
Bars/nightclubs are always going to get bad reviews, but as long as you've got a good squad with you on the night this place won't disappoint!
R.Got here around 6 and was able to enjoy the private booths with my friends. We got bottle service during happy hour which is great value considering other high-end places charge for mixers while Spice Market does not. Refreshing service by the waitresses and bar staff as well. I will definitely be coming back with the boys.
T. W.Just discovered this place by accident walking past. Happy hour (4-9) was busy but the service was excellent. So we're the it's and popcorn chicken. Great place for a quick wind down after a busy week l. We easily found a booth and chilled for a couple of hours. The younger crowd started to move in from about 9:30 pm and the music started to pump.
R. B.I contacted Mia close to midnight letting her know we were on our way to Spice Market & that we needed a guest list set up for up to 10 people. I didn’t realise she wasn’t working; but Mia still went above & beyond to ensure we were taken care of. We were greeted warmly at the door, bar staff were amazing & we ended up getting bottle service & staying till close. The vibe was that good! Impromptu nights out are always the best nights out & Spice Market certainly delivered the goods.

B.good place, good music. funny thing is that whenever we book a sitting area with pre-charged minimum spent, and order good spirit in the bottle, always just 1 bottle and when we order next bottle, it is always out of stock but cheaper brand are available. However, if you just enjoy a shot or 2 and don't mind standing around then this is a good place, at least no entry fee. only drawback is it closes fairly, 1pm. so if you want a long night, then this is not the place to be.

E. B.I came here for NYE and it was amazing; great atmosphere & great music! I then came in again and it was recently renovated - I thought it couldn't get anymore stunning but it did! Really good service, great cocktails and just an all around fun night. A very clean and professional club. The crowd went crazy for the Snow Shows! And the Snow Martini was amazing too!! Will be back for sure and would recommended if you want a fun girls night out!

J. E.I'm shocked to find that most of the bad reviews come from guys. It's true that the bouncers are nicer to ladies but they treat the guys as they should. There have been some guys in this club that need to be told and put in their place. The Guards make me and my girlfriends feel safe and of course there are long cues on a Friday or Saturday night for drinks. If you go to ANY club in Melbourne it will be the same. Spice Market and staff have always been friendly and treated me and the girls with respect. I lost my bag once and the guards located it with people who tried to steal it within no time!
The music on Fridays is great after a week in the office. More geared toward the 25- 35 crowd though and the business professionals that go there are great to mingle with (Fridays). Saturday is a different story. I don't care what anyone says about this venue, I ALWAYS have fun and so do my girls from Melbourne, New York City, and the UK. New Year here is Magical and a lot of my friends go here. Not to mention there prizes and Mia the event coordinator is one of the BEST in her field.
J. C.I went here for a hens on a Saturday night with 15 other girls. We did the cocktail making class and danced after. The booking process was really easy. I was sceptical how making 3 cocktails could be dragged out to take 2hrs but was blown away how fast the time went and how fun it was. The bartender who led the class was really friendly, professional and super organised. All the girls were really disappointed when we had to leave the dance floor to attend another activity. I'm really hoping I get the chance to attend another event here again. Highly recommended!

From the moment you walk down the stairs the atmosphere is amazing, all the staff are great fun and the lights and snow machine are very impressive. I highly recommend that everyone pop into Spice Market and experience it for yourself.
V. V.Venue is nice, door and bouncers are great as well as cloak. The only let down has continously been bar staff.
As a ex crown employee, berth bar manager and trainer and tgi fridays bartender for over 4 years. The lack of attention from bartenders is unbelievable. Ive seen bar as busy as 3 lines deep that are able to establish a que for patrons.
But as a regular, this has been one of the biggestest let down of the venue. Eventually, i do get served only after everyone else although i would have been there for atleast 10 minutes with 0 service to begin with.
Take some Initive greet your customers not just when you serve them but those that you are planning to serve next and maybe dont just priortise girls cause youre a malle bartender.
A.Recently refurbished and in style I have to say it is dazzling now and food plus cocktails are awesome. Hostess stands at the door to welcome guests and there is another at the bottom of the stairs. It has bop area facing a dance floor and it has a snow machine which dazzles snow every night. You can dance with snowflakes falling down on you! Amazingly you do not get cold. Feels really luxurious.

C. J.I had my 21st here last night, and from the moment we got there everyone was really friendly and helpful, from the bouncers to the personal attendants. I ordered the Persian Room for my guests, which was both spacious and luxurious - as was the rest of the club! Loved the décor, and the vibe was great.
The food was also amazing - I really loved the Turkish Delight with Persian fairy floss!
Thumbs up to the music - popular chart-toppers that you can actually dance to, which can't be said for a lot of other clubs I've been to.
All in all, amazing night - can't wait to go back again!

N. S.This was more a bar when I attended numerous years back, it was well decorated and you could actually converse with others. I don't think I would go back if it's now a nightclub, as it is too hard to socialise in nightclubs, plus your hearing gets permanently damaged from the 100+db level of sound...

J. P.I just held my best friends hens night at Spice Market the whole experience was 10/10 from the start. Planning was quick easy and simple and the staff were always happy to help even if I called a billion times :) when arriving the whole experience was breath taking we were greeted and the door and taken to the area we booked we felt like movies stars, throughout the night the staff were amazing I could not fault anything it was the most amazing time and experience we have ever had. The food is too die for YUM and the drinks and amaze balls too :) if anyone is thinking of throwing a hens night your girlfriend will remember for the rest of her life than this is the place to go I could not reccomend it any higher. Thanks again Spice Market can't wait till our next event we will definitely be coming to you :)
t. b.I understand this isn't necessarily something the venue can fix but every time I've been here the men are unbelievably intense in their pursual of you. I've been here three times and each time was worse than the last in terms of sleazy men harassing me and my friends. The last time we visited, we only lasted 30 minutes because two men were relentlessly pursuing us and would not stop, and two other men got physically/verbally aggressive with us. I went into the club feeling great and left feeling furious and unsafe. Perhaps a more visible security presence is needed here because while this is a fairly common club occurrence there's something about Spice Market that makes the men oddly intense. Like they think it's a free for all or something. Otherwise the club is great. I think the DJs might need to update their playlists, a lot of early 00s hits, not enough of today's hits. Love the lighting effects on the ceiling.

General demeanor of the security gaurd was low. No curtesy.
Went and advised the duty manager -Jeremy that it was My first time there and gave Him feedback about the experience of nowhere to sit and being hassled. He told Me Id been there before Because He remembered faces. I said check Your security records -because I havent been here ever.

M. J. O.I went there last weekend for a friend’s birthday party. He had booked a booth in the VIP area. We each paid $120 for a package. Such good value we got heaps of shots, a bottle of Chivas , bottle 666 vodka, bottle of Moet , platter of food and $300 drink card. And with the bottles they bring out about 20 mini bottles of coke and lemonade and cranberry. It was just like Tao in Las Vegas. At the end of the night a waitress went around with about 100 cheeseburgers for everyone in VIP. We were told the owner sometimes sends a waiter to McDonalds to buy them for everyone. It was such a good surprise and just what you need at end of a big night.
