A great, versatile venue with a team of really lovely and professional bar and security staff. This is a brilliant live music venue, with a noticeably good PA. Special thanks to the owner, James, who is not just super friendly and welcoming, but a total sweetheart who went completely out of his way to hunt for (and find!) my jacket after I lost sight of it. Looking forward to the next visit 🖤

Through pure happenstance we were drawn into the bar on a Tuesday night with the promise of free comedy. We were not disappointed. The venue was fantastic and the comedy was great The comedy club element may be in its infancy, but it has great promise and is backed by a bunch of passionate and enthusiastic comedians that are looking to create laughter and bring joy. The host was fantastic and engaged well with the entire audience. He was personable and fun, even going so far as to shout a few rounds. A night well spent!

The FREE comedy nights on Tuesdays are an absolute blast. Going to it was absolutely an impulse decision but it turned out to be an amazing night with amazing vibes and amazing people. The host was also absolutely passionate about getting the comedy going and even shouted everyone in the audience a few rounds. Definitely would recommend if you get the chance.

The Gaso is an absolute Melbourne icon, with amazing staff and a good selection on tap. Tuesday comedy night is definitely worth checking out too. If you like a bit of dark humour and free things (yeah, its free!), definitely head down and have a geez.

Had a great time at the free comedy night on Tuesday. It was only the 3rd show but thoroughly enjoyed and the host was great, even buying people rounds of drinks. The comedians were funny and it was a night of laughs. Also loved how the roof opened up, great for a hot summers day to sit down and have a beer with mates.

Awesome venue and amazing staff since new ownership. As a young woman I can say Stef and Trav are the kindest security guards! Always lookin out for people and keeping the riff raff at bay. Bloody love this place.

The gaso is the new home to live punk rock. 2 stages, smoking area, many nooks and crannies to explore in this origional corner pub. The interior is all old wood, kept in beautiful condition. Nothing fake about this place!

What a great little pub. The band room is not as big as I imagined, but the upstairs space certainly makes up for it. They had a gourmet BBQ on the day we were there, roof open and awesome beer garden feel. The beer was good, the staff friendly. Can't go wrong really.

Went to see some live music upstairs and it was an awesome little venue. Not the biggest space but really really good vibe when it's an up and coming band with their amazing fans. Went see a Canberra band Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers play and it was sweet. Gender neutral bathrooms were also a good idea. Down stairs bar area look pretty cool too.

Gasos is one of the only live music pubs in Melbourne where you can rock out under an open sky. The band room has a huge retractable roof and a wrap-around mezzanine that looks over the stage. The bistro and bar do a mean happy hour—$6 pints for 3 hours.

Love the gaso!! awesome bands come through and they have really stepped it up and are taking on lots of queer events in Melbourne at the moment. it's a really eclectic space with lots of different areas to drink, have a smoke or dance. really good beer range on tap also. I do however feel sometimes the bar staff are a little bit 'too cool for school' and could offer service with a smile every now and then :/

Saw a band here last Saturday night. Polish Club. The band room is great if you are there early. Get there early and get an upstairs on the rail and you'll be able to see. You can't see a thing from upstairs even 1 person back. The venue itself is great. The open roof in the band room was great. Easy and no fuss to get in and out and the crowd was a good mix of ages.

If ya don't durry don't come here in a hurry. Its a smokers paradise packed full of avid tobacco worshipers bumming filters, papers and tobaccas. If ya want gormet fude with small portions and fine taste then drive your hatchback over to chaple st coz this place delivers fun fuel on a plate not quizeen. If you want beer selection then try your average gentrified Fitzroy/Collingwood "pub". This place gets the job done with a few. No one can tell the difference between beers anyway unless you add more hops and call it krahft beer. This pub has two live music spaces grinding and sweating every single night supporting our Australia, Melbourne pub culture 7 days a week. This pub lets you smoke where you should. This pub has a different face 3 times a night. This pub is.... The Gasso.

A music venue should have a sticky carpet. If you don’t like that then go to a recital hall or something. Don’t change your stripes too soon Gasso, you’re doing a lot right, like having a sticky carpet!
