Comments of The Irish Times Pub
J. H.
Cute mini pub with an Irish atmosphere. It got loud/noisy when it was packed with people. Food was delicious and reasonable priced. I got the Shepard's pie with apple cider.
Z. M.
I had a long day and just wanted to grab a beer and relax🙌🏻. The environment is great, live music🎻, friendly service, and good prices. You can choose an extensive tasty dishes from the menu and awesome drinks such as beers on tap, wines and cocktails 🍸 🍻🍾🍷. Go and have an amazing time with your friends and family.
F. Z.
The Beef and Guinness pie was nice with chunky pieces of beef. But would have loved some pastry or thicker mashed potato.
Onion rings were good. Staff are very laid back.
T. J.
Best Guinness in town. Cosy atmosphere and friendly staffs.
n. k.
Good selection of beers on tap. Great food. Slightly on the expensive side. Definitely visit on Friday or Saturday night and request a table on the upper floor for live music. If you want to have a conversation then there is a cozy downstairs area too. The chips with curry sauce are a must order
J. T.
It is always a good fun place to go to for a social drink or meal after any event! I went along on this occasion and ordered an old fashioned at the bar to be different and it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted! The bartender made other great cocktails too and of course the Guinness on tap holds up well!
Chatting with friends and a friendly bartender was fun and we were there until close without even realising the time pass!
M. M.
Nice cosey pub with a beautiful selection of food. Portions are large and you'd want to be hungry to get through a 3 course meal. Delicious 😋

We came here to try their Christmas lunch, which was $60 pp set menu… And this is what we ordered:
Entree: Garlic Prawns & Lamb Cutlets
Mains: Roasted Turkey Breast, glazed with honey, rosemary & thyme... served with mash herb tossed green beans & cranberry jus.
Dessert: Christmas Pudding & Panna Cotta
Good food, with a good service. We particularly loved the prawns & the lamb cutlets.
We now regularly come here for the drinks & the live music every Fri & Sat - 8pm till late.
C. P.
Brilliant place for a drink and a meal , all of us (Nykki's group on the bikes ) had a massive serve and it was all really good. Excellent service . I will be back soon with my kayak for a paddle at the lake first' . Cheers
P. L.
Whilst I had no major concerns, I wouldn't score this venue highly, the staff were very slow to attend to you and the food was a little too casual in presentation and quality. Having said that, it was a decent place to go for a beer and a catchup
S. G.
Beautiful bar with attention to details and relaxed atmosphere. Ate there a few times and only wish I'd had more time in Melbourne to eat the whole menu.
S. D.
Nice little Irish pub for a drink. Only been during the day but am sure it would kick off at night. Nice looking menu.
V. M.
Came in for a beer just after new year's and the staff were friendly.
The venue is small but over 2 levels. Nice atmosphere. Happy to come again.
T. !.
I was served by a very handsome young lad,(I think his name might have been lark? Or maybe bark? Or something that has those last three letters) he had longish brown hair, and a hint of a Russian accent, he knew a lot about cocktail ingredients and poured a damn fine pint, very pleased with my experience
C. V.
Meals were absolutely delicious, we had the chicken parma and shepard's pie. Cool atmosphere and venue
A. W.
Fantastic traditional Irish pub on Little Collins St. Can confirm they serve the best pint of Guinness in Melbourne also
J. A. I.
This is the place I was introduced to Kilkenny. It's a very nice beer, much better than the Guinness I've had in Sydney (after which I'm nervous about trying it again). The pub has a nice atmosphere, friendly service, and the food come sour relatively fast. If you want pub food or and Irish pub, don't think you can go wrong here.
C. P.
Nice looking old bar, being an Irish bar don't expect any good beer specials. $13 Furphy pints.
B. M.
Had a nice f dinner with my family and a few nice beers. I love life and love this place. Thank you for the fruitful service.
N. M.
We love this pub! It's our favourite place to go on a spare afternoon for beer and wings. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is classic Irish pub. Great place to watch sports events. Their Buffalo wings have just the right amount of zing and their Sesame Guinness chicken is deliciously sticky and sweet. And of course, there's Guinness and Kilkenny on tap.
A. W.
Dont go here if ya wanna chat! But.. awesome venue for a fun vibe and pub type dance later on. Classic music like the Eagles and pink Floyd played while we were there. Really cool vibe and venue, nice staff. Just not if you want to talk.
J. T.
Guiness beef pie was disappointing ...
Better wine list perhaps?
T. P.
A great pub to sit down and have a meal, share a pint and maybe meet some new friendly faces.
Nearly always showing sports (AFL, Football, etc) including fights (UFC, etc) and the atmosphere is always top-notch.
The staff are solid, usually very upbeat and funny. Food is very nice too for such a small pub. Live music is always a blast.
Basically, just come here.
J. P.
Small Irish pub hidden at the intersection of Queen and Little Collins street.
Friendly staff members servicing the upstairs when dinning for lunch, descent size chicken schnitzel with a perfect balanced of veggies to go with it at a great price.
Definitely worth checking out for your pub lunch fix, oh and don't forget to add in a glass of Guinness to help you enjoy your meal =)
N. R.
Loved the food and the ambiance! Staff were cool. I recommend this pub!
S. A.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. Will definitely be back
L. V. R.
Tower burger was delicious, great portions, friendly staff great atmosphere.
Highly recommend
A. M.
Nice Irish bar down the western end of Melbourne. Good atmosphere and worth stopping in for an ale or two.
T. A.
Had a nice time at the Irish Times Pub. The ambience, the service, the crowd, the food, everything was awesome. A must visit place
A. B.
I love a good Irish pub and this one might be my new Melbourne fav. Perfect for a Guinness & shot of Jameson. The Buffalo Wings and Potato skins were some of the best I've had. Customer service was good, especially given all that places are going through with all the COVID restrictions.
J. D.
Really amazing salmon, and they have a great gin selection!
S. K.
Nice people, good vibes that reminds British pubs indeed.
M. R.
Went there for lunch in a group of 13, place was too cramped but the food was good.
G. M.
Probably the best pint of Guinness in Melbourne, which is a big call but paired with friendly service you gotta respect it
J. E.
Night Review - Great music atmosphere and laughs. One of the only places in Melbourne that I have found so far to have Kilkenny beer on tap. The food was good hearty pub food with the standout dish to definately be the HP (sauce) flavoured wings. I will be getting a whole plate next time.
G. J. L.
Great place to come for a beer. Their happy hour prices are quite cheap too.
D. L.
Came here on a busy Friday night for food and drinks with a few other people. After strolling around the place and not able to find an empty table, we were almost on our way out and then luckily the shift manager saw us, rearranged the dining area, put a table together and sat us down. Other than having this great experience to start the night, the food we ordered were delicious (great sauce in the tower burger), and the Kilkenny was tasty!
A. M.
Awesome experience. Food was insanely good, portion size adequate. Do not miss the Irish beer, Irish times platter (which has a amazing onion rings, a potato skin filling dish, calamiri and buffalo wings). If that was amazing, the main course has an even better beef and Guinness pie which tasted past wow.. Great staff and a truly enriching experience. Will recommend and visit again.
S. v.
Friendly staff, cold beer and good food.
S. C.
Great venue, always good food and the beers are excellent
H. F.
This place wasn't the place we thought we were going to and having walked past it uncountable times and not noticing it, I was surprised. A tiny pub! But friendly barman and good food which was generous in size. However it was really noisy (we were upstairs and everywhere was timber so bouncing sound) and a broken postmix tap which made very flat drinks which didnt excite us. A good pub for a quick meal after work - too noisy for a catchup over drinks.
N. A.
Now this is a cracking little gem.
Went for the burger lunchtime special with a pot and was not disappointed. Great staff, quirky venue and ice cold beers.
Will be back and would recommend!
A. S.
Honestly one of the/if not the best Guinness I've had poured in Australia. It's a good sign when the place is filled with the Irish expats too. Great vibe, friendly (and Irish) bartenders. Wish I was there for St Paddy's day!
A. D. V.
Meals were great so was service only downfall was upstairs toilets.
A. A.
Good selection of beer
Our wagyu steak was cooked perfectly
A. D.
Quaint Irish bar in the heart of downtown Melbourne. For anyone looking for an Irish pub vibe, this is your epitome. The live music on Saturday nights generates an atmosphere if you knew about, you wish you could be a part of. A little pricey on beers but it's worth it for the atmosphere.
W. B.
Nice venue and staff. The Guinness tastes great.
M. “. M. c.
Whist it lacks the palatable tension of a Irish pub during the 80s. The lack of secretion violence and supply of Irish beers and cuisine makes up for it.
If you like cheese.. The beef and Guinness pie has lots..
P.
I would be keen to come back here. Great cozy place, upstairs and downstairs, good vibe to the place. Meal was ok, beers of course great! Very good service.
D. Z.
Great little Irish pub tucked away in the finance end of the CBD. Staff are very friendly and they know how to pour a Guinness. Make sure you order another when your first pint comes out to get the timing just right!
C. J.
Good pub food. Great atmosphere. Irish dishes are great ,fish and chips and burgers a bit bland. Fish fillet is a pre-made product. Staff are lovely.
P. R.
So so much loved & enjoyed the live performance on Friday even with my ladies 😍♥️ definitely recommended 💃🏻
S. G.
A great place with excellent food and the Guinness is served just right!
S. B.
Called in just off the street to a very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very obliging, definitely recommend this quaint pub
R. G.
Came in for UFC 257. Cosy pub with friendly staff.
Always had a cold beer on the table and food was tasty too.
TV screens and sound are not the most up to date ones but the atmosphere was nice.
H. D. E.
As pubs go, this is a good place for a beer. Food is really good.
Service is fine, but it could use some work.
B. W.
Love the pies, friendly and welcoming service. Comfortable and cosy atmosphere. Nice place to have a meal with a few cold beers.
T. R.
Recently visited for dinner. The food was delicious, the guy behind the bar was friendly and the beer was great however I've deducted a star as there was a lack of staff (only appeared to be the one guy behind the bar to look after the whole place) and the bathroom was a little unhygienic. However, overall the food, service and beer made up for the shortfalls. Will visit again. Thank you
J. C.
Terrific Irish pub in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. Staff are friendly, beers are terrific and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect in a great Irish pub. Recommended highly.
L. S.
- $23 parmi tasted great: Napoli sauce was rich
- loaded potato skins were great
- onion rings were also great as they weren't cooked fully so not had a bit of bite to it
- wedges were nice
- atmosphere was good
- did have to ask waiter twice for some water and we had to ask for menus which was a bit strange. Would give 5 star if service was a bit better
S. M.
Yeah, enjoyed our meal and pints of Guinness. Only disappointment was there was no veg served with my steak.. However, will return.
S. K.
Very friendly staff, lovely little pub
S. K.
Great atmosphere and they have some amazing Guinness stout on tap!
I. F.
Absolutely brilliant. Small pub with a great atmosphere and friendly, hospitable staff. It's a favourite landing pad for after work drinks that stays open well into the night. A place you can happily sink Guinness after Guinness with good friends and not even notice the afternoon slip into the wee hours of the morning. A cosy spot I'm always happy to return to whenever I'm in town.
R.
Food was absolutely amazing! We had pies on our first night and steak on our second. It was faultless. The barman (cathal)was such a nice guy, even though the pub was busy he still accommodated everyone almost alone as the 2 girls were nowhere to be seen for some reason. He's a great barman. Would highly recommend the Irish Times to anyone visiting Melbourne
S. C.
This rating is for the Guinness specifically: if you're used to a pint of plain in Ireland, the one here is average at best. Head wasn't the smoothest.
S. N.
Once of the best pies I've ever had, poor selection of tap beers. Kilkenny being the only saviour.
S.
Nice foods!👍🏻
G. U.
Unpretentious, friendly pub. Good for a catch up with friends over a few beers while listening to nostalgic music. Reasonable, simple food - loaded potato skins with mozzarella, bacon, and sour cream were great. Staff were attentive and helpful.
N. C.
Great Guinness beer, lovely company, and perfect ambience! Loved it.
E. a. P.
Very kind service. The man let me use the toilet after I needed to go in a hurry. I even offered to buy a drink but he said there was no need to. If I wasn't in a rush, I would've stayed for a drink as I have been there before and it's a great venue. Thanks very much to the kind bartender.
M. G.
The times I have been to this pub have been pleasant, the staff a welcoming and good good at what they do. I haven't had a bad pour of Guinness at this pub yet. As for the atmosphere of the pub it is great when its quite and it is great when their are a some people there. I have also had some fun experiences with other patrons in the pub being know as a little buddy to another patron which I enjoyed that encounter. The bloke who did it was in a group of mate cerebrating the super ball with his mate which was a fun experience as the made the place more lively.
M. K.
The pub is small and has character.
The staff were friendly and business seemed to be going well judging on the number of patrons.
We attended for a meal and a couple of beers…
We loved both!
The beer was cold and tasty and the food were good sized meals, great value for money.
Well Done!

Beautiful little Irish Bar in the middle of the city.
My latest visit was sparked by showing some friends from out of town a few spots in the city after the tennis. This is always a nice little surprise for people especially if you can get the tiny table under the stairs or a spot at the bar.
First impressions as you approach is the grand Irish flag mounted to the facade of the building leaving you in no doubt of the Irishness of the place. Lots of different spots inside to suit different types of visits.
Staff are always friendly, quick and competent, I’ve usually found the day and early evening staff to be a lot more engaging than the late night on the handful of times I’ve been so far.
As you’d imagine they’ve a fine selection of Irish Whiskeys and other spirits Magners and Guinness too. A pretty well rounded selection. I’ve yet to try the food.
It’s not a place I would seek out in the city but if I’m ever showing people around or passing by I’m always drawn in for a beer.
J. D.
Nice little pub, good atmosphere and not too loud so you can actually have a normal conversation without yelling at each other. Service not the fastest at times but at least that's kinda authentic, right?
B.
great food and love the service
N.
Great beer on tap great vibe check it out
B. B.
Never felt more at home in a pub before. Husband took me out for dinner and we had to go back the next night. It's cosy and comfortable and beautiful Irish scents everywhere. A great selection of drinks and kind and friendly staff. The waygu steak is to die for absolutely perfect! Can't wait to back.
m.
Burger are amazing, good place for a beer and feed. Staff are great. Food comes out quick . Plenty of space for a sesh.
s. f.
Came here with 14 people. The place has a nice ambience about it.
Had the Irish Times platter for starters and their signature beef and Guinness pie. Starter was very nice and freshly made. The Signature dish was very rich and sizeable so I would recommend it for 2 people and ordered with vegetables. Overall this place is nice and I would come again.
M. W.
A very friendly neighbourhood bar in the heart of the city. They couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Five stars!
J. P.
It is a very cool and beautifully decorated bar. The atmosphere in the evenings in the bar is just hilarious. The beer is fine and the staff is also very friendly and funny to talk with! Everyone should at least have been to an Irish Pub once in their lifetimes and if you're living in melbourne I would recommend to visit!!
Y. L.
It is a good Irish food. We had Irish stew, Irish gueniess pie, and tower burger, they were good. For entree, we had a platter to share and chips. Wings, onion rings, and the chips were great. On top of that, the sauces were amazing. Overall, good to have lunch at this place with beautiful ambience.
K. T.
Excellent quality of food with all meals. The portion sizing was massive and worth every cent spent. Atmosphere was great and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was an amazing meal to end our holiday on. Loved every second.
J. T.
Great pub with solid cuisine on the central pedestrian mall of the city. Its best attraction is a spacious outdoor deck that is perfect for warm nights and conversation. Attentive service and my party of 8 ordered everything from burgers to salads to fish/chips and we loved it.
A. T.
Why does the Guinness just taste so good here? When picking a place to drink, always go for a place that has a standalone Guinness tap, like The Irish Times. Haven't tried the guinness steak pie but it smelt so good as it went past along with all the other big plates of food that go by. I can only personally vouch for the chips: They are very crunchy and more-ish. Great little watering hole. Can get VERY busy on Friday nights.
A. L.
Excellent food, friendly service
A. F.
Cozy inviting pub, great fire place keeping the place warm during the cooler times.
S.
Excellent venue. Very covid safe set up and check. Warm and friendly staff. Got an excellent table on a good Melbourne day. Kudos.
C. M.
Never fails to impress. Been here so many times over the years. Great food, great staff great company. 👍
C. K. Y.
Had a fun time, thanks to shawn. Thanks bud!
L. T.
Amazing food!!!! Incredible selection of beer!!! Awesome atmosphere! Great staff!! Loved our visit here! We'll definitely be back next time we're in Melbourne
P. O.
This was a last minute visit and were we surprised, quite busy for a Monday night, the young lady behind the bar was Absolutley amazing, kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Meals were great as we had the Chicken Parma, very large serving.
The Irish Times Bar is absolutely amust visit when in Melbourne as we will be back.
D. H.
A well poured Guinness is hard to beat (at least or me). I would describe the Guinness as well prepared without the skanky CUB taste left when taps are not adequately cleaned on a daily basis. I enjoyed my meal, Guinness pie,(you need an extra side of toast). A casual atmosphere and, the staff are friendly. The most significant negative is the location of toilets; the steps are impossible to navigate for those of us who aren't as able as others.
L. K.
Cosy atmosphere, with a fire going when it's cold out. Two tv's keep things relaxed. Came here on a Sunday night and there was a nice crowd. I got the last table in the corner by the fire, but there is an upstairs dining room too so finding a spot to sit shouldn't be too big of a problem unless it's a super busy time.
I ordered the Guinness pie and a pint of the lager. Total bill came to $33, completely reasonable. The portion was large enough that I took half home and will have it for lunch! The food was delicious with a generous portion of beef in it and a lovely thick rich stew, the potatoes were creamy and not too runny as I've had in other places, and the lager was spot on. I'd love to come back when they have live music! Bartender was really friendly and actually Irish, I think, and the waiter was also attentive, friendly and fast! Definitely recommend The Irish Times Pub.
G. W.
Worst chicken parma ever! Could not eat it, the manager was excellent providing full refund and a free pint. The Guiness pie is a much better option. Will still go for the beer and atmosphere!
R. C.
Authentic and genuine Irish pub experience. Food is pretty good. Prices are to be expected but 13$ for a pint of black is enough to give you a heartache. 🤪
T. L.
The best meal I've had in Melbourne!
Together partner and I tried the Guinness and shepherds pies, and they were both amazing. Just bursting with flavour and a really good size.
E. V.
Great stay at the Irish times pre- second wave lockdown. Good attention to covid protocols...awesome drinks and atmosphere. Keep these places alive, they are the heartbeat of Melbourne.
G. S.
I came here on a Sunday night and want that enamoured. I've been many times over the years, and always had great memories, but they were playing non stop 80s music and not Irish music (want expecting trad, just Irish artists). The pint wasn't bad, but the food was fried too much and not that enjoyable.
I came here to watch the Irish rugby game hopefully being replayed but they were playing some crappy reality show. At best this is an average pub masquerading as an Irish pub, really badly. The staff were all Germans and didn't know the rugby game I was referring to, as in the 6 Nation's Win over France last night.
N. I.
I was attracted by their sign “The Best Guinness in the World”...and it was! Amazing atmosphere, top service (fulfilling my wishes before I could even think of something) and visitors from all over the world making for interesting conversation. N1🏆🥇
L. H.
Everything is fantastic except for the sticky tables and the sound settings of the live show. I had to leave the place because I couldn't have a conversation with my friends and we couldn't really appreciate the songs the musicians were playing.
Just details that won't allow me to rate you 5*!
L. B.
Bloody fantastic! Great atmosphere, food and music, can't recommend enough of your in the city wanting an Irish pub! Their entree ribs are beautiful and great value for money and there 'chips and curry' is a great side, chips covered in a really nice curry sauce! Yummo!
J.
Good place to chilled after long working day with Guinness. Cosy &warm .good luck guys. No complaints. Chef please get in English mustard for your menus will be great. Regards jag
Z. K.
Just came here for a pint but it's a good place, has that warm inviting Irish feel
V. L.
Had a lovely dinner followed by going upstairs to listen to the live music. Food was great entertainment was great and also the staff were awesome especially Julian who made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be coming back !!
T. H.
Great little pub, nice staff good food and a fantastic point of Guiness.
T. D.
Great pub with lots of atmosphere! Friendly and welcoming bar staff!
U. S.
Went there with a work colleague and had a good time. Great place for a quick catch up and beer. Young professionals usually flood this place looks like. Has a antique vibe to it. Have to go to the bar to get drinks and pay extra for sauce tho. Would go there again.
D.
Generous portions, come during happy hour for a hearty meal. The ribs here are highly recommended. A little tip: don't sit too close to the roaring gas fire as the air temp gets too stuffy, but seating is hard to score so you may not have a choice.
D. F.
The Irish time's pub is a great place for food and drink at has a cosy traditional pub feeling with it's wood interior and old time finish. The drinks are priced averagely but the food is worth a try very typical Irish pub food. I'd personally recommend the Irish time's Burger.
M. R.
Came in on a Friday with my 18 month old son in a small pram and was very well accommodated. Staff couldn't have been more welcoming. I was able to have a pint and watch the cricket and my son even had a nap! Would rate it 6 stars if possible.
T. R.
The Kilkenny beer was good, and the service ok. I ordered the beef and Guinness pie which was described on the menu as their "signature dish". Unfortunately it bore little resemblance to the description on the menu. It was a poorly presented beef stew topped with a microscopic amount of sloppy cheesy mash.
M. R.
Amazing food and ambience. I had jalepenos burger.. it was flavorful n nice n moist, my mates had stew n stake and pie and they were all impressed by the food.
The waiters were attentive and we could pay individually even though we were a part of the group
D. G.
We tried these options: The sausage, the pie and the stew, what is the difference?
- Sausage: sausage with gravy and mashed potato
- Pie: the same gravy and beef on the bottom and the mashes potato on top
- Stew: the mashed potato on the bottom and gravy soup on top...
Exactly the same thing but different presentations. Not much creativity on the dishes
The good thing is the size and the flavour, that’t s why the 4 stars.
s.
Great atmosphere and a good selection of alcohol, staff are friendly and just a good place to hang out and have a drink.
I go mainly on a Wednesday but my buddy told me the upstairs bar was open on the Saturday night and they had great music, he got very wasted and my boy dosntt drink past his limits usualy so that's a testament to how much he was enjoying his night.
j. k.
Great pub with great service.... food is awesome and you can't go wrong
N. D.
Service is speedy. Love the atmosphere here.
S. M.
The food was so amazing we went back twice during our short stay in Melbourne. On top of that the customer service was fantastic. I highly recommend the shepherds pie!
V. Q.
Great pub. Loved the food. Had Guiness Pie the first time we visited and it was great and had Salmon on a bed of garlic mash and veges on our second visit. The staff were fantastic. I will be visiting again next time I'm in Melbourne.
t. v.
I used to visit this place for happy hour, when I lived here a few years back. We got some lunch and entrees this time and the food was just about average. I won't get the Parma from here again.
H. P.
Love the food great staff
E. C.
Came here with 8 people. The place has a nice ambience about it, Amazing food, service and my party of 8 ordered everything from burgers to salads to fish/chips and we loved it!!!i highly reccomended!!
J. T.
Good atmosphere, food quality is reflective of pricing. Parma Monday for $18 comes with a pot/wine. Good value. $3 for gravy seemed odd :D
V. V.
The Irish Bar in Melbourne!!! One of my favorite with warm environment and friendly staff always makes me have a pint of Guinness and Chicken Parma as well!!! Highly recommended!!!
M. B.
Very good meals, quite reasonably priced. The Beef and Guinness pie is great!
R. P.
If the smell of beer is your thing then this is your pub! Service is Ok but when it comes to paying for your order there is confusion over how many bears were consumed etc. At least the service staff are excellent at their job and can suggest meals/drinks.
C. C.
Great pub. Genuine feel. Wraps itself around you. Conservatives should avoid
G. W.
Great food, beer and staff were friendly
C. G.
Good location. Straightforward pub with top service and pulls a good pint. Didnt try the food but plates we saw being dolled out looked impressive. Great atmosphere and setup.
E. T.
We love going here and the food and drinks are always decent BUT after making a reservation for 9PM we turned up and found that somebody had "forgotten" to put our reservation in the book and no table had been reserved. After a few minutes of waiting we were told a table had been found. We were taken upstairs to our table to find we had been seated in the middle of SOMEBODY ELSES function and right next to a speaker with live music. The waitress had to move platters of function food so our table could be used...needless to say we were getting some strange looks from people there for the function. We proceeded to look at the menu and after 15 minutes of not being served we decided that not being able to hear and talk to each other (due to the speaker proximity) and having been seated in the middle of a function would not allow for an enjoyable evening. Not surprisingly we left and probably won't be back.

Guinness poured properly, nice live set and enjoyable classic Irish Pub. I've no idea about the cuisine ( I'll give a try next time).
M. N.
Cosy little Irish bar. We took our Irish CEO here for a beer before dinner. It was good but the bar staff couldn't quite understand my CEO, oh well. The decor is quite reminiscent of the english/Irish pubs that I remember.
G. S.
Great service and atmosphere. Feels very comfortable and relaxed. But also like it could get rowdy (in the best way possible)
M. E.
This not a bad little pub at all, a group of us of mixed background came here and the staff were really friendly and the drinks were good. The music was a bit loud which ment conversations were more shouted at each other but all I'm all a nice place.
L. W.
A good honest pub, with a name that reflects the atmosphere.
Good drink selection as long as you're not looking to drink rainbow-ale from woop woop.
Didn't try the food, will update review when I go back there because I definitely would like to.
R.
Loved the sizzle brownie and Beef and Guinness Pie
J. G.
Hidden gem of an Irish pub in the financial district of Melbourne's CBD. Cosy atmosphere. Great food, the ribs are delicious and the serving size is large. Classic beer selection.
J.
I used to love this place, but recently the beer has tasted rancid (potentially dirty taps), and the food was average quality. There's still a great atmosphere with mostly friendly staff, but the beer and food could really be improved, and some of the staff seem overworked or just grumpy!
O. C.
Easy place to go for a pint and some food. Watched England play rugby against USA. We won. Nobody in the pub was watching ;) I prefer cosy downstairs.
A. d.
It has 2 stories where you can enjoy live music upstairs and dance downstairs.
T. H.
Do yourself a favor ....
Love it in there. Spectacular meals, you need to go back several times to experience how good so many of the dishes are. But i always get the wings as an entre. The blue cheese sause is amazing.
R. M. (.
Bar staff were friendly, pint of Heineken went down well
R. H.
Went here for a work function. Rustic, casual place - great atmosphere. Staff are friendly and helpful. Prices - $6 for pot glass of beer/cider.
K. N.
Fantastic pub amazing live music great way to celebrate St Patrick's day
a. i.
Good fun, main bartender was a bit interesting and at times a mood killer (big dude)
k. w. (.
weekday special was good, good interior, screen, beer, wine, 2 floor
A. C.
Great pub, but would be a lot better with real Irish music playing
N. R.
Classic Irish brews on offer and a great atmosphere to match. Gets very crowded in the evenings and the food whilst good value and filling just doesn't quite hit the mark.
I. D.
Always an awesome time here! Food and drink are pretty average but it’s the service and bar that make this place a top pick and traditional nightly last stop.
S. B.
Incredible food and service
Will be back next time we are in town
I. A.
Lamb rack, beef Angus pot pie n legendary Irish burger YUMMMY! Our first time here n everything was yummy n service from staff was awsome aswell.
A. L.
Highly rate the wings and the BBQ Ribs were sublime. Chips and onion rings delish. I'd go back to have all this again.
Busy little pub.
J. N.
Good beer, good food. I had the shepherd's pie. And of course they have Guisness on tap!
B. B.
I've eaturn there 3 times in 6 yrs each time it's been great go the full rack of ribs it will feed 2 decent eaters ,when the joints full of Irishmen u know it good
A. G.
Great place went with my son and his girlfriend people friendly and enjoy the decor and the cider hope too come back soon
S. C.
Great service straight out of lockdown. Bartender friendly and reasonably priced Guiness, nice setting.
W. I.
It's a pub, there is only so much excitement you can get. It serves decent pints and nice looking food - if you want that but no extra bells and whistles, go nuts
C. J.
Good foods and welcoming atmosphere. Menu of the day at 18 AUD is really a good deal. Beers are kind of overpriced though.
S. N.
Not what it once was. The upstairs needs some work. Staff varies. One was great the other was more interested in chatting to other staff. It is a busy bar but personally I am not planning to go back in a hurry.
T. T.
Good atmosphere. Had Beef and Guinness Pie. Little bit salty, but maybe because I didn't have a Guinness 😏 People there remind me of Ronan Keating 😂
P. W.
Busy friendly popular pub. Only one staff member on trying to do everything but managed to serve everyone adequately. Worth a visit.
D. E.
Nice pub but very busy and noisy. Lots of drunk guys n gals. But I'm a bit older and prefer somewhere quieter. But go for it.
S. C.
They pour a great Guinness. Staff were also very helpful while we organised a family dinner.
J. L.
We sat at the bar downstairs. Jeansy bought me a pint of Guiness and I ranted for 7 minutes about the shortfalls of being an introvert, in which time I had finished my pint, realised I was due home to take over the kids, and thence took my leave.
i. v.
How good was this to find. Just loitering the streets needing lunch. Staff were so efficient with our drink and lunch. 4 people had each different meals which were too much.
T. M.
The best Irish pub I've been to, great service and awesome food. Staff are great, drinks are cold and the best food I've had in ages
T. M.
Great food, good atmosphere but the staff were a little cold. Maybe just a little unlucky today.
R. A.
Food was alright, chips with curry sauce were awesome. Poor barman was rushed off his feet with no backup. He was great despite that.
J. S.
Fantastic manager; incredibly polite, conversational and knowledgeable. A credit to the venue.
C. M.
My burger was to die for. Well taken care of and atmosphere wasn't bad for Covid normal.
N. P.
Rate was very cheap compared to other pubs. Nice place to hangout with small group. Preferable for students aswell.
M. G.
Traditional friendly staff, great Guinness - food looked good but my burger let it down a bit. Well worth a visit!
C. D.
Had the Irish stew. Was really tasty and filling. My only issue was my lemonade was syrupy.
Overall a great place however
M. W.
What a happy place to have a great Guinness, sing along and a dance .Staff so friendly ,look forward to my next visit .
K. K.
Slightly dark in the bottom bar, but it is a great little pub. Good range of drinks also. I liked it
R. W.
Quaint little pub over two levels, not a lot of space for larger groups and avoid on a really hot day but food is pretty good!
M. W.
Cosy, warm, really nice service. Good for AFL.
R. C.
Great food, great atmosphere, good selection of drinks.
T. J.
This is a good place to have some drinks with mates. It reminded me of when I was in Europe. Great atmosphere and friendly bar staff.

J.
Great meals. Cosy setting. Music was a little loud for conversation. Staff were friendly and attentive.
J. S.
The food was great, I had the beef pot pie. They had a big real pine tree up for Christmas, and they found us a table even though they were very busy.
M. B.

Decent Irish pub in the CBD. Ideal spot for those evenings when you just have to have a pint and a packet of Taytos after work.

Great food, not great variety of choice however. Service seemed like they only wanted to talk to locals rather than others.
