H. C.Wandi pub well kept secret. Been working around Bright for the past 4 months and have just had my first dinner there. Well when I can get another booking I will go back. Make sure you book 3-4 before you think you might want to go. They knocked back two guys who live 1 km down the road.
T. M.Cracking pub, be sure you make time to visit if you're anywhere near Bright. The outdoor beer garden on a sunny afternoon is worth a visit alone.
Terrific little selection of tap beers (Dainton on tap a huge plus) and lovely staff. Food servings a really decently sized and quality is top notch. Some might think food prices are a little on the $$$ side (they're really not), but decent ingredients cost, and the quality shines through here.
Burger was juicy and perfectly cooked, while the Thai rainbow farrow salad with fried chicken tasted as amazing it presented. Have had the parma before too and it's very hard to pass up.
Book ahead and don't miss out!

S. f.Fantastic food. The best fried chicken I've had, without question: perfectly fried, crispy but also covered in sauce, a little spicy (but not too much). Crab roll was unique, but in a good way! Bao buns were spot on. Fantastic garlic bread, yummy chips.
Great location too, lovely service.

We had lunch outside under magnificent trees, in the sun with our own kookaburra overhead.
Highly recommend fish and chips, and mine was gluten free. Beautiful wine and we both rated that meal as our favourite during our week in Bright.
j.Always love coming here when holidaying Bright. Favorite place by far, can't fault it.
Great service and always delicious fresh food. Only problem is everyone else loves it just as much as we do so book early during the busy periods.

Not your usual country pub food which was a pleasing surprise and almost didn’t want to give it a review as it’s probably a secret you should keep to yourselves. Made the comment that we’d drive the 4+hrs to come and visit it again.
Thanks, and if your looking for something to hydrate, the ESB is the way to go, and take something for them to fill for the road home (if allowed)!
Also, keep your eyes peeled, there’s a great roll of toilet paper hiding somewhere in the bar, trump card; you may not be allowed to use it….

p.Was thoroughly disappointed that there wasn't a lobster-parmigiana available, so settled for the chook option. The parmi was hot when it arrived, as if it had just been cooked, which I thought was quite strange. Aren't they normally pre-cooked and then microwaved?
As delicious as it was, the shear girth of the meal left me destroyed down the rear end.

S. G.Sensational yard/beer garden on a nice day. Lots of shade and tables. Nice front verandah tables too. Beer is expensive ($9.50 schooner for Cooper's Green). No Carlton or VB on tap. Takeaway beer prices are ridiculous ($80/slab a year or two ago).

N. W.Great little pub! Great food! We were in Bright but the town has minimal food options. Talking to locals we were told this is the best pub in the area and was rated 2017's Victorian regional pub of the year. Place was packed! Very family oriented. The table we were given was next to the pool table, which was a bit awkward dodging pool cues over dinner. And staff all seemed a bit scattered. None the less, the food was fantastic. Best cooked medium rare steak I've had in a long time! Recommended.

B. V.The Wandi Pub is world famous in Wandiligong and surrounds but deserves more plaudits. Maybe there's a reason for the lack of ostentation? It's just not big enough to service the loyal locals AND huge crowds of tourists passing through 🧐🧐🧐. Well, we were very glad to be let in to enjoy the well presented pub food (including edible flower garnish on dessert 😲) and the friendly staff who turned on the footy for an avid teenager. Very homey, cosy, friendly.

L. S.What a lovely setting. Indoors a cute little atmospheric dining room. Another bar area to one side, and then we sat in the side garden. What a great spot to sit and enjoy a few hours of absolutely delicious and professionally prepared food under the trees. We had a delicious duck pate with crunchy Milawa bread, a duck bao dish that was crunchy, light and freshly made, finally, golden fish and chips and the best lamb sausages we’ve ever eaten. There was a great wine and beers list. Really friendly staff. Good location just a few minutes drive from Bright.

I drank the base lager in pint, was served in a nice chilled glass from the fridge at a cost of $13. I bet this place is even better in summer with a huge outdoor area.

A. M.Had a great meal at the Wandi with our 3 kids on a cold and wet Saturday night on the way back to Sydney after a week in Falls Creek. Rang on short notice to see whether they might have a table and they were able to accommodate us (thanks Ben)! All of our meals were great tasting and large! The ripper steak for me, chicken tacos for my wife and the kids between them has 2 pasta bolognese and one ‘real’ chicken nuggets and chips. Food came out relatively quickly, beer and wine selection extensive but the real highlight was an old school pub with a great atmosphere and a roaring fire. The publicans clearly look after the place and there was a healthy mix of locals and travellers like us enjoying the Wandi’s warmth and hospitality on a cold Saturday night. Highly recommend for a great pub experience in the true Aussie fashion as these pubs are few and far between these days.

I had the peppercorn sauce on the side for my chips, it was really nice and creamy. My wife enjoyed the garlic aioli on her chips. My dad loved his fish and chips and gave it the thumbs up too.
The service was friendly and meals didn't take long to come out.
Prices seem expensive at first but once you see the meals and start eating you can appreciate that you get what you pay for, the quality was there on all our meals including the kids meals so well done guys!

Was short but sweet. Token review as hard to judge with the Pandemic going but certainly can commend the Hotel on there efforts during these times. Very friendly and accommodating.

D. T.If you were to rate a pub on their chicken parma alone, this would pretty much be the best pub in the world. Imagine a proper succulent chicken breast, (not one that has been butterflied 8 times and beaten to 2mm thick only to then be crumbed an inch wide and deep fried) crumbed to perfection then topped with beautiful ham, napoli sauce and melty cheese. All served with proper salad and some crisp hot chips. Add a bit of gravy and you're away!
Great beers on tap, just make sure you book or you may find yourself flipping the bartender the bird from your Subaru as he looks at you non-chalantly. (something we witnessed this first hand from some non-booked punters)

The people were friendly, the service was good and it has a great atmosphere with both locals and tourists hanging out and enjoying the environment. Easy to see why it's so popular.
The food was delicious and filling, with options we haven't tried before (Pork Nachos!). We'll definitely be back next time we are in town. Thanks for a great experience!

I have no idea who holds the lease these days but some of the previous publicans have been fairly good sports.
Not many of the old locals have been going there in recent years but possibly things may have changed in the short term.

Got a big living, kitchen, 3 separate bed rooms, 1 room with 2 bunk beds and a separate bed, study room, fireplace, laundry, 2 bathrooms with toilets and a seapare toilet. Spacious for group stay. Nice place around for photography, a stream nearby, there is a swing from a tree which everyone enjoyed. Totally we were 11adults and 3kids. Great memorable experience.

P. M.Spent a long weekend in Bright, with a group of friends (Bright, must do this time of year). We had been recommended to visit the Wandiligong Pub for a meal, with the "The Wandi" being just outside Bright. It's very rustic and well let's say where you're seated is not your expected gastro pub's main "dining room', though don't let appearance fool you. It is literally a gastro pub. The food was every bit as good as your meal at a city/suburban referenced "gastro pub", and in some cases better. Look past the table and chairs, the dining room, and sit back drink some good local vino or tap beers and really enjoy the people you're there with and the excellent meal you'll get. Really enjoyable experience.

S. C.We discovered the Wandi Pub last year on our summer holiday, and made a point of going back this year. Vacillated between a 4 or 5 star review. The valley location is magic, and the vast, shady beer garden is a great place to relax. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and know a lot about the local craft beers they serve on tap. We discovered a new brewery this trip and later went to visit them (Black Dog, in Taminick). The food is well above what you expect of a pub, somewhere between a really good cafe and a world fusion restaurant. Many, but not all, options are creative re-imaginings of pub standards, which is fun. I had a "hot dog" that was a proper Bratwurst (if you're a snag snob like me you'll know what I mean) under a crisp, sweet Asian-style coleslaw with fat, crispy chips. The menu varies, and the price reflects the quality and care involved, so if you're after standard pub fare probably go elsewhere (but really, do yourself a favour and check it out).

The specials board tempted us with a tasting plate of cherry tomatoes in a balsamic sauce, roasted garlic cloves, local olives, a huge chunk of Brie along with copious quantities of lightly toasted bread and dukkha for a bit of spice. For mains, the flake was fresh and accompanied with thick homemade chips and a crisp salad. The Omeo snags with mash, butter beans and gravy meant there wasn't room for dessert. A very pleasant way to fuel up and relax.
