Classic and atavistic best describes the interiors of Turf Sports bar. The ambience is amazing with the old look of the bar and large TV screens make the place an ultimate sports bar. Although I liked the bar, the food there was disappointing. I ordered a Parma and it was not well made - too chewy and dry. My mates ordered pizza and they were also not worth the prices paid. The drinks were ok. But for an experience of sports, visit during an AFL match.

The bars nice the food we had was fine and came quickly for how busy they were, the staff were friendly. But if you want a Rugby World Cup venue don't trust the signs on the window, all through the bar and the shirts all of the staff are wearing. They didn't show the opening ceremony and the first game they had on a TV the size of the TV in my house in an awkward spot. 100% do not recommend for a RWC venue.

I am from Perth and go to Melbourne every year found this place near where I was staying. I have been to a lot of pubs in Melbourne and this is by far the best I've been to. Service is great the food is great including very generous portion sizes. You get great value for money. Also love the antique setup will definitely be back

I like this place. They have decent deals, good pool tables (two) a lot of space. That being said, it's very much a pub, not a bar. If you're looking for a nice place for a quiet drink or good wines or cocktails keep looking. If you're looking for pub grub, a good pint and sports then this place is where you belong.

It’s a good sports bar with multiple screens and few separate rooms with big projectors and bar at the centre. Also you have far too food options for a bar(and for vegetarians) ☺️ You have daily deals of pizza/pasta and pot. Good deals on beers. 4 pines, furphy, carlton and couple more are available on tap. Great friendly staff, great beers, and they have parmi's. I would expect from it's location to be overpriced but it wasn't. It wasn't the most value for money but that's to be expected from it's location. About 4 tv's showing sport. The staff are happy to oblige with channels. There are nooks and crannies around the bar. The mid week deals are great value and should definitely be taken advantage of. Otherwise it's a little bit pricey for what is essentially a pub meal.

Couldn’t believe with this name they had basketball on every screen! They changed one onto the races for us which was good. Good range of beers. Could do with an upgrade if the furniture - might be the most worn out chesterfields in Melbourne!

If you like sport then this is the place to be.. They show almost all sports. And if you need a place to watch the Grand final of the FIFA world cup in soccer, then Ill say this could be the place to be. Located right in the heart of Melbourne CBD. They do great pub food during the week and weekly specials and its not small portions. If you're hungry ill recommend the Indian Chicken Parma... sooo good... Or share a portion of BBQ Soy Chicken wings with your mate or better half and don't forget to order Blue Cheese dipping sauce with that. Friendly staff, good food, heaps of different beers on tap including Guinness.. Plus when they ain't busy showing big games, then they'll pull out 2 pool tables!! (most times anyway ;)) Great Pub!!! Oh btw, Wednesday night is Uni/ Backpacker- night so free pool table from 7pm, DJ from 9-10pm & $ 6 drinks specials and friday happy hour from 4 - 7 (I believe it is).. Check it out :)

One of Melbourne's hidden gems. I'm NOT a sports fan (there is more to life) yet I like the private alcoves, the service and the ambience. Big leather chairs and couchs from a different era. Happy hour is great value and it goes for two to three hours!

Turf Bar is the best bar of its kind. If you are looking for a simple unpretentious place to have a drink, read the paper or even avoid the mobile phone data trap with free WiFi, Turf bar delivers. It means many things to me; reasonably-priced drinks on weekdays; Happy Hour on Fridays 4pm-7pm, a place to unwind after work with a good stock of newspapers (Herald Sun, Age, Australian AND AFR), friendly staff, un-timed WiFi (which is what all pubs should have as a standard IMO) and great pub meals (especially the Canadian Parma). I will continue supporting this place as long as it remains what it is
