Never been before but would go back. Great service and great venue. Food was really nice but a bit of a pain to have a set meal (choice of entree or dessert and main) when we went - $39pp... doesn't really work out as good value when entrees and desserts are shared and not really substantial. Drinks are really reasonably priced though. G&T $10 each and they were great.

Amazing cozy spot with a country feel right in the middle of a very busy urban street!. Waiters are friendly and check on you regularly. The food was fresh and delicious. We had the Tasmanian salmon with excellent coconut rice. Reasonably priced. Our first time and we left with very big smiles. Definetly going back.

It's only the second time I've gone here but both times the food and drinks were just A1 top shelf quality. The meals tasted great and were a decent size. They have a really good selection of drinks. Lastly the staff are friendly and kept making sure we didn't want for anything. All over a really positive experience. Definitely a place I'd whole heartedly recommend.

This is the single greatest thing I have ever eaten. World wide, from fast food to 5 star silver service, I have never been so impressed with a dish. Compliments to the chef. A fabulous renovation to a classic pub which has transformed it to a must visit in St.Kilda. A great place to meet friends and enjoy a few drinks and snacks. The restaurant has more food options. The outdoor indoor bar area is very appealing with plenty of sunshine to enjoy on a nice day. The public bar still has that classic feel and the locals still love it. Certainly worth a visit as the service is great.

Very trendy, lively bar. $15 pizza and Parma night on Monday is a good deal and I enjoyed my Parma, but the desserts were both average - chef clearly isn’t a sweet tooth!

I came here for the bottomless brunch,and the different type of spritz that they offered were super good, the platter was pretty average but defs tasty. The dj was good and created a great atmosphere ...4 stars because the service was a bit slow at first especially when your trying to get your money's worth...but then she redeemed herself and ended up being a bit quicker ....so yeah overall it was a awesome experience and I defs recommend it.

The Village Belle is back! After a $15 million dollar refurbishment, it looks amazing. The bar area has load of natural light and greenery everywhere. We went to check out the lunch menu. Janeca tried the spicy grilled calamari & roquette salad. It was really spicey so watch out! I went to the smoked brisket sandwich. It came with super fluffy Turkish bread, and nice fat chips. A meaty treat! The service was really professional too. For a leisurely lunch, in a beautiful environment that won’t break the bank, you can’t go past Village Belle!

The Villiage Belle is a popular gathering place with a sophisticated & upper class feel to it. The dining area & night life bar area is well spread out with a lot of windows giving it more of an outdoors sort of feel. There is a public bar with the horse racing on the televisons at the back alongside the tab machines, & a small pokie venue located at the rear. The whole place is wheelchair accessible & there is parking located close by if you dont mind a bit of a walk (but you will have to pay for it.) As COVID restrictions have only recently lifted & there are spme rupes the venue needs to follow regarding allowing entry to only vaccinated people up to a certain number, all entry is thru the main doors on Barkly Street, & this makes entry a little bit slower than normal. Last Satirday by late afternoon a reasonable size queue had formed out front, with a younger crowd presence in their early 20's seeming to be the dominate patrons in line, all dressed up quite fancy rather than wearing just jeans & a top for example. Lools like a great place for a few drinks & to kick on if you wish to continue late into the night

Bottomless brunch is epic! Such a great vibe, as always the interior is beautiful. The meal was a shared spread of cheese, dips breads deli meats ect. Cocktails were delicious, and super speedy service unlike some other venues when doing bottomless style sittings. Total 10/10. 100% go with your mates!

Wonderfully renovated Pub at the tail end of Acland Street. It really does bring something unique to St Kilda. The indoor/outdoor beer garden, with industrial glasshouse like construction is gorgeous, and wonderful to sit in. The food is to quality, and there's a great selection of drinks. The Village Bell has the best of everything available when dining out in the Stkilda precinct. Cafe style outdoor dining area with a tranquil setting. Indoor dining and bar area is chic industrial relaxed setting (keeps the eyes busy if you love architecture) Sports Bar for a social drink and catch up with mates. Great menu and the food is awesome. Always tasty presentation is tops and good value. All the staff at the Bell are friendly and offer quality professional services.

I have always wanted to re-visit this hotel as i was a newspaper boy in the 70's selling the herald there after school. Firstly i had a meal in the bar before this last lockdown. Meal was sensational, very tasty and cooked how i asked. The bar staff were very friendly. Secondly, last night my partner and i went to the restaurant, once again both meals were terrific, and the staff very friendly. From the guy who met us at the door to the lady who served us. I highly recommend the Village Belle for a night out.

Awesome vibes for bottomless brunch, great dj. Tasty cocktails. Not good for coeliacs; we told the venue that we had two coeliacs in our party, arrived and had cross contamination everywhere and nothing they could eat. It took more than half an hour after informing staff to get some food they could eat. I had to approach two members of staff as the first member of staff later told me that he “couldn’t find me”. Considering these coeliacs also paid $60pp, that’s not really good enough. The actual brunch spread wasn’t very exciting.

What a fabulous place! Really enjoyed the greenery and whole ambiance here. The fish and chips and chicken and leek pie were great. Oh what an hidden gem this place is. This place has an open style sitting with open roof but if it rains the roof closes to keep the place dry and cosy. Lots of plants and trees type setting making it kind of unique where you get a very soothing and calm feeling. The s snacks I ordered along with drinks tasted great and served promptly. A nice place to have drinks with friends and partner. Not much for kids though so probably not a kids entertaining place. The staff is very friendly and can give you a suggestion if you are not sure what to order. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. This place is very close to trams and bus stops. The toilets are are clean and nicely maintained. I would recommend to go there and try it out at least once.

The calamari was excellent, and I really liked the potato wedges. The staff were happy to accommodate a request for no balsamic on my salad. The innovative cooling system is fabulous. But unfortunately, my Prosecco was a bit flat, and not one of the better brands. I'll have to order a different drink next time.

Surprised to see the negative comments about the staff. Have been coming here for quite a few years now. Food is consistently good as is the service. Preferred it before the gentrification as it was the last place in St Kilda which retained its unique old school grunge pub feel. Its a great renovation but St Kilda is not what it use to be.

I went to the R’N’Brunch for a friends birthday. The best bottomless brunch I have been to, the platter was delicious and there was plenty of food to go around the 3 of us. The was a bit of variety of the drinks on offer and the music and atmosphere were also great. However, as others have mentioned the staff were not very friendly and this makes it a bit uncomfortable when getting drinks.

We liked the old but we love the new. Since it’s revamp the Village Belle has brought its food, drinks and service up to date and become an on trend local pub without losing any of its classic charm. The food was a couple of dollars a meal more than we were expecting to pay but weren’t disappointed (loving the Scampi). Atmosphere is as expected, clean, welcoming and noisy. But, above all else the reason we will be back is the staff. Over multiple visits we have had nothing but good service and we would especially like to thank Alaina and Kennedy as two of the most outstanding - friendly, efficient and professional - Thank you!

We went for a walk today and stopped in to this beer garden paradise. Didn’t have my bank cards on me and one note left. The bar staff still poured our wine and let us off the small shortfall. Funky little place in the heart of St Kilda. Food is decent but expensive. Nice range of drinks that are reasonably well priced. Went on a Saturday night and got pretty packed. Crowd was kinda varied and a little funny, if not a bit loose. Seems like the younger people come in as the night goes on and music from obligatory female DJ (is that a thing now?), was as you'd expect. Overall, good for a messy night out, culturally overshadowed by the liveliness of the Acland St surrounds.

Was a fantastic way to spend my 30th birthday at the bottomless brunch, the grazing table was great I do recommend it! They also catered for my friend who is pregnant and unable to eat soft cheeses and raw meat. My only issue was being hearing impaired it is incredibly loud. We arrived and my friend tried to order the first drink for me and was initially refused because I didn’t ask for it myself. I just stood there just smiling and nodding while he sorted it but then getting refills was hard, I do lip read, which I ended up doing through out my brunch. As the people get louder so does the music. (Just an FYI for my fellow hearing impaired people). I’m not going to mark less than 5 because I can’t hear, I have learnt to adjust to environments like that and we have all agreed we will definitely be back!

Place looks amazing since the Reno. What we chose to eat (charcuterie) was perfect (bar the chicken pate,it is not even pork so should not have been there). The floor staff were plentiful but alas there was little attention to service. Ordered drinks, they sat on the bar for 15 minutes while the staff stood around talking. The $ was ok

Been here quite a few times, with each visit being progressively worse. First visit was fab and I love the space so was looking forward to becoming a regular but now I'm not sure I'd return for dinner. The service is really amateur and I've found the quality of the food has slipped. On my last visit, we were told about the 'visually impressive' barramundi dish and I told my dining companions about how I have seen it served crispy and curled up on the plate with a fresh garnish. What they recieved was a flacid fish slapped on the plate with a mound of coleslaw on the side. I ordered chicken kiev whixh was actually delicious, until I found my chicken to be raw, once I cut in to the thick part. When I complained, I was asked by the waitress if I wanted her to take it away (Well, duhhh), rather than an apology and a resolution offered. To their credit, they comped a few bottles of wine for the table (hence me giving 3 stars) but that was only after my friend really complained about the very poor service we'd had the whole night (with the chicken being the cherry on the cake, so to speak) but there was no sense of organisation or a manager on the floor. As I said, I love the space and think it's a great venue for that end of St Kilda, but if I do go back, it'll probably just be for a drink.

I often head to the Village Belle to watch the UFC in their bar area, which serves great pub style food and has an extensive drinks variety to match, with knowledgeable & friendly staff. Their events also often offer great value for money. I joined the Australia Day open bar/BBQ brunch session which also served delicious BBQ fare (your standard burgers & snags but cooked well with higher quality ingredients) and a list of drinks overs a 2 hour period to get the day started well.

Great old pub with a total renovation that features a really stylish & innovative indoor /outdoor mingling /drinking area, that plays modern yet tasteful background music or a DJ after dinner! The previously rarely used upstairs area, which now includes a total Reno featuring a large square shaped bar, and a elegant yet groovy decor with different chandeliers to set the mood of the area or bar. The whole pub still retains a typical Stkilda vibe! Also has a diverse range of Beers, and wine, spirits or a more sophisticated cocktail list. The food is either a good range of Bar food or a more fancy range Available in the restaurant /glassed roof bar. Plenty of clean toilets in all areas with friendly helpful staff.

Wow! For those who recall the old Village Belle compared to the new, it's a world of difference. It's been transformed into a new mega complex entertainment venue. Sports bar with TAB, restaurants and all these different little bars. Staff were very friendly and eager to please. Food was really nice. The only issue is it's very loud when you're downstairs...so if you're looking for an intimate quiet place this is not it..the place was packed with a lot of young people (20s) out to have fun.. However still very easy to get a drink..Good to see the owners make an effort to improve the nightlife in StKilda. .Worth a try..

The old girl looks great after its make over. The atrium area looks amazing. Service is great Food: Fancy menu that promises but doesn't deliver. Steak tartare - for $16 dollars you get 2 biscotti sized "toasts" (maybe 5 cm X 2 cm in size) with about 30 grams of meat that is covered with way overseasoned (all you can taste is vinegar and capers) mayoneise. I would pay $5 for that and even then wouldn't be happy about the taste. Funghi pizza - it wasn't bad, but for $19 I expected something like you get at Mr Wolf for the same price, that is covered with wild mushrooms and is amazing. This one not so much. Kids crispy pork buns - dry, dry, dry. Both the pork and the bun were way too dry. The. Hips on the other hand were amazing. Drinks were good and as previously mentioned, service was great. The atrium has great fans and water sprays that keep the place cool. Great location and food, disappointing food. Let's hope this improves with age.....

Spring/summer on a plate! We had lunch one Saturday in this concrete, brick and glass atrium-like half-open, airy new extension of the refurbished old pub. We were pleasantly surprised by the presentation and quality of the two dishes we tried. Gnocchi done wrong can be like rubber bullets... but mine was like fluffy pillows: a textural delight every mouthful. It came lightly pan-fried, served with succulent pieces of lamb and spring vegies including pea shoots and my favourite, broadbeans. My partner's lamb shoulder was just as expertly cooked, with juicy heirloom purple carrots and greens. The drink list has few surprises, but is inoffensive. Staff seem to change from day to day. On the day service was above average, without being a standout.
