Love the food and the high level of service that you get. The food is priced as you would expect for a restaurant of this calibre, relatively high but worth the money in my opinion. Beer selection on the other hand isn't as great as I would expect, with only two beers on tap available but a wider selection of packaged beers available. Paying $10 for a middy of mid strength craft isn't great value! The lighting can take a bit to adjust to, being a bit on the dim side of things, but lends to the ambience of the place I guess.

Came here for our anniversary dinner (with kids in tow) and all of us really enjoyed ourselves. The front of house staff were attentive and helpful, and they had already prepared some drawing/colouring material for our kids before we reached our table. We had the early seating on a Friday night, and our server advised us to order our drinks and entrees early to beat the rush. Food was great - we had the signature Blackmore Wagyu as well as the Mishima Wagyu and both were cooked to perfection. The Glacier 51 Toothfish was also delicious and the sides were solid. The food did take a little longer to come out as the restaurant was packed, but our server kept the drinks coming and the kids were happy. Definitely a more pricey night out that your average restaurant but the food and service was worth it for us.

We went there on Thursday night and had the 3 courses menu. To be honest I would come back only for the steak. I wouldn't get anything else. My friend had the fish dish and she felt sick because the fishy was too oily and strong fishy smell. The other dishes and the dessert was just okay, but the steak was sooo tasty. I had medium rare and the meat just melted in my mouth.

Lovely dinning experience with very friendly staff. Food were beautifully presented and cooked. Steak was so tender and juicy and very flavourful, happy with the choice of getting 36months aged. Brussels sprout salad was so delicious, light and refreshing. Wag you bolognese fettuccine was disappointing thought, it tasted nothing different to homemade bolognese, was really expecting a ‘wow’ factor to it. Overall a lovely experience, although a little overrated with the prices.

We came here for the first time and chose the tasting menu with wine pairing and even though it was a bit peicy it was a great way to try 5 courses and delicious wines that were maticulously paird with each meal. One of Perth's dining experiences I recently attended for my 40th Birthday and my friends and I were extremely impressed with the experience. Firstly the staff were professional, friendly and didn't interrupt or hide, they were always there at the perfect time. Their appearance and the restaurants cleanliness were impeccable. The menu offers a great range of the highest quality steaks at a great price and everyone loved the food, clearing their plates, sides and deserts. I recommend this restaurant for a great business or networking lunch or a fantastic venue for celebrating any occasion at dinner. Thank you team Rockpool for an unforgettable experience.

I ordered the Wagyu Chuck Eye Steak and a couple of sides. Everything was delicious! The presentation of the Wagyu steak was a bit disappointing, I'm not sure what happened there but for an expensive cut of steak the way it was presented was a let down, what you see in the photo is exactly at it was delivered to me at the table, untouched. It tasted great though, not too fatty and perfectly cooked. The staff were very attentive and provided fantastic service and advice on what to order.

We had a 6pm booking for dinner , got ushered to our seat straight away which was up against a window. The ambience was nice as soon as you walked in the place. Our waitress introduced herself a few minutes after we were seated which was nice. The cocktail was delightful. The food even more so. The only let down of the night was when we went to pay , they give you a option to tip or not and I declined the guy who took payment his whole demeanour changed, which made us super uncomfortable.

Don't often do this but Rockpool sincerely deserved this beautiful rating as for a first timer going there we didn't know what to fully expect, but straight away from the welcoming to how quickly the food came out we felt like in the right place. Cozy ambience. Good place for a date night. We celebrated our anniversary here and it was good. We had a wonderful experience. We had their anniversary tasting menu and unfortunately I wasn't able to take photos of all the food. The ones that are not in the photo are devoured straight away! They all taste really good especially the main course and desert! And they surprise us with anniversary cupcake! The food and service is great and we'll definitely come back.

Got there early, at 6pm, and although it was quite heavily booked the Maitre-di gave us a table for two against the window, a very good spot. 😊 We had WA Marron and 400g Aged T Bone Steak from Tassie both done in the charcoal oven ( jarrah charcoal) 👍 & Broccolini and Potatoes Gratin on the side. We chose a lovely red and white from the excellent list. We shared a pavlova for sweets which was a very smart move because it was a huge serve. Table service was excellent from a series of waiters and sommeliers all of whom knew their trade well. A great night out.

Absolutely amazing. Went there for an anniversary dinner. We got a secluded table with moody lighting which made the meal very intimate. The food was amazing. I didn't have a high opinion of Rockpool going in as I'd previously had a poor experience. I'm glad I have them a redemption chance. The food was incredible. We were served by a stunning lady named Ava. Her service was amazing, 5/5. To top it off we got a cute anniversary cupcake at the end. All round great experience. We ordered the calamari, Cape Grim fillet, potato puree and oven roasted pumpkin and sweet potato.

Besides the big waits there was constantly people filling up your drinks they were quick to act on things you wanted but still the meal took ages. Absolutely amazing atmosphere in this iconic restaurant, i am always pleased of eating here. In this occasion i was celebrating my anniversary and even if, one of the waitress made a serious mistake with my main course order, the manager and the kitchen team were able to fix it very quickly and as always they delivered amazing food , great flavours and outstanding service. Both my partner and I were very happy with the quality of the food served to us and the extra care given to make our special day even more special. A great night spent with family. While this review would be for a few months ago, i am more than sure Rockpool keeps their standard high throughout each year that passes by. Some fantastic choices on the menu and dishes are all served in a simple yet elegant way which places the focus on the quality of products we are paying for. While I have to say I was quiet disappointed with the fish (mabey its just me) I have to say the steak, sides, entrees and drinks for a 10/10. Nothing can be perfect however a 5* is definitely the fair score.

We three had been looking forward to this experience for some time. We were not disappointed. Two of us had the rib eye on the bone and it was pink snapper for the other. Three sides were potato and cabbage Gratin, Royal Blue potatoes and WA Sauteed mixed mushrooms. We had the Sommelier assist us with our drinks, and our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. Everything was delicious. We sadly had no room for dessert, however, after overhearing it was my belated birthday dinner, our waiter organised a delicious cupcake with a candle. Priceless.

The service and staff was exceptional and my wife's meal of Mount barker roast chicken breast was very tasty, along with the sides of grilled asparagus, roasted pumpkin/sweet potato and mixed greens. But unfortunately my 62 day aged grass fed $89 ribeye which was cooked perfectly medium rare, was very disappointing. It was chewy, full of muscle and gristle and not enjoyable to eat. Now, I have eaten at this establishment before and was very plessed, but this time however seeing as they pride themselves on there aged beef, it was not pleasing at all !!!

The atmosphere, décor and layout are all very good. Ordered a $65 steak and the waiter replied that is wasn't so good and so best to order a special one they had. It always felt like they were trying to upsell and the waiter was overly chatty and friendly as if wanting a tip. Steaks were good but not amazing as you might expect. They do expect a tip when paying which was expected after the way the waiter acted which is a little rude given the menu prices.

Good points were that they waited for us to order, The meat was delicious... one of the best fillet I have had in Perth... but not the best and comparable to other good restaurants not as expensive as this one. What is not acceptable is to take suuuuuuuuuch a long time to be served our steaks... Our partners received their pasta 20 min before our main course, so we had dinner in two shifts... we were asked by a waiter, we asked for it... more than three times to different waiters... we asked for some drinks....that took sooooooo much time to come. The reason was there was no ice... an unbeliaveble problem for the coke... but two beers were delayed because of the lack of scarce frozen water... THANK YOU VERY MUCH (seriously) to one of your representatives (Spanish speaker) that relizing of the problem, brougth the beers and coke (with ice) and offered us complimentary glasses of wine (delicious). She apologized in the name of the Restaurant. Her attitude worths three stars in my review. Thank you very much and sorry because I do not remember your name.

Went for dinner on a Wednesday night for dinner (about a quarter full at best). This place has slipped a lot. Service especially has gone south. Food is ok but wouldn't rave about the lamb and steaks we had. The men's toilets were not checked and left in a mess with paper towels on floor and bins on their side. I personally eat meat very rarely, so when I do want a nice slab of steak, Rockpool is the place. With intimate ambience, great wine list, spectacular cocktails and spirit line up, all desires are fulfilled here. Menu is comprehensive, you can definitely eat great selection of seafood here too. But the meat is the king, from wagyu to 60 months and 36 months dry aged steak cuts, they have your red meat covered. Estimate from $200 on meal for 2 with drink each, of course with rare selection of wines and spirits, sky is the limit :)

Take 1: I have to be honest, the atmosphere and service at Rockpool are great. The steak quality is great. These side dishes (cabbage gratin, mac & cheese) were very mediocre, The pumpkin & garlic sauce was okay. But when you visit what should be a top quality restaurant and you ask for your steak medium rare, it’s expected that the chef understands what medium rare means. The steak I received was practically rare to blue. Stop trying to save meat from being wasted and start cooking it to the order requested. I shouldn’t have to ask for my steak to be re-fired whilst eating with guest. I’ve had better food from McDonalds. Take 2: The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare with my partner enjoying the bolognese and fettuccine. The service was once again exceptional on a busy Tuesday night. Thanks.

Such an exquisite dining experience! Amazing service and wine selection is absurd. Fortunately the staff do an excellent job of picking the wine for you if you tell them what you're looking for as the list is daunting. I think you have to like medium to rare steak if you're looking at eating here because even the menu says anything over medium rare will negate the purpose of the dry aging premium cuts of beef. I happen to like medium rare so this wasn't a problem for me but can understand ppl saying their meat wasn't cooked. Great choice of you're looking for something to splurge on.

Rockpool has its magic on meat, atmosphere and service. Their chargrilled selection is generous, with a wide selection and most of the time cooked to perfection. Other items in the menu also very nice (but the experience with fish didn't meet my expectations). Another star at the restaurant is the bread. No other restaurant in Perth has such bread. Keep it up! They also have a bar menu in another section of the restaurant. Their hamburger is very nice! The only thing I will review at the bar menu are the sides. Atmosphere and customer service outstanding as usual; and for regular customers they always show their token of appreciation (as well as for birthdays)! Multilingual staff was noticed which isn't common in Perth (I love that fact as makes the place special)! The sincere suggestion is for them to review the prices on certain items within the menu.

On Thursday 10 of us went for the $55 lunch special which is currently advertised in Crown website. We went to Nobu ones the week before and the special lunch menu already laid down nicely in our table and in addition to the sparkling that was included in the lunch special menu they serve us the tap water without additional cost. However in Rockpool totally different experience. The lady who serve our table at first didn’t provide us with the $55 lunch special menu, only after we asked for it she said she would need to check then finally came back with the lunch special menu. After we finished in addition to our $55 lunch special our group got charged $65 extra which after we questioned this they reduced it to $45 extra which they claimed for the tap water that they served us. When we mentioned this to our friends they said by law restaurant should charge tap water without extra charge and I remember when we went to Silk recently we also been provided with tap water without extra charge. The food we had are nice but we gave this 3 star because of this unpleasant experience. Make sure to check your bill especially when you have big group.

Pleasant enough, drinks were good (when you can attract the attention of a waiter). Overpriced, steaks reasonable, desserts good. Don't order the grilled lobster, $180 - for haphazard cooking and plating. When you spend more than $500 on a meal and the star was the roast potato sides you know you've been dudded. Also, enforce your dress standards guys! Getting dressed up for a special night out at a "premium" restaurant and finding yourself sitting next to a couple in their gym gear is less than special. Being pressured to tip when it's time to pay the bill leaves a pretty sour taste too.

Cocktails and the pairing wines for '10th Anniversary Tasting Menu' were amazing. Food, wonderful, but then again when it's fresh and the best money can buy it's not that much to expect. Service, apart from Amelia, was poor; weird even. Example, I had to stand out of the way of a staff member as he bustled passed me, obviously on his way to someone more important than me. Oh yeah and what is Bargearse's position description? He stood within 1.5m of our table, for over an hour, talking at the 2 seated next to us. Never acknowledged my wife (who BTW looked resplendent) and I the whole evening. Also, why was our chardonnay parked in an ice bucket out of reach? We hardly had an opportunity to consume it during our meal and ended up knocking most of it off after our main meal. Oh yeah and 2 candles in the passageway were not lit, why bother with seeking perfection if it ain't attained? My wife and I booked, and attended, in memory of my mother-in-law, she always wanted to do attend but ill health precluded. My wife mentioned this when booking. Why then were we greeted with a query as to what was the celebration? Poor service and ill communication. 3 out of 5 cos the food was good and spending alot of money has to mean something. Lift your game.

Unfortunately we were disappointed. This was a special occasion. My birthday infact. The service up to a point was very good. We have no complaints about our steaks, they were superb. The asparagus was awful, burnt flavour most unpleasant. After we had finished our main course we sat for quite sometime and no one came to take away our plates or to ask if we would like to see the desert menu, we were basically forgotten. So we decided to make our way to the front desk to pay for our meal. We had a booking on a Saturday at 2.30 because that was the only time left. Turned out to be advantageous because it was a very personal service as there were only a few couples in. So romantic even in the afternoon, with candles lit. We had the signature tasting menu. 4 courses of exquisite food, just the right amount of food and the flavours were perfect. It was a 30th birthday so they brought us an delicious truffle with a candle. The waiters were very knowledgeable and attentive. It was expensive but also value for the experience they gave us. The sommelier was fantastic and his recommendations were outstanding.The dining room is warm and inviting and the staff were attentive without being over bearing. Payment at your table is convenient and stops congestion at the entrance. We tried as many dishes as possible and ended up sharing 6 dishes between two of us, including seafood, steak, pasta and dessert and every single dish was honestly perfect. For the quality of food that we ate and the wines that we drank, we felt the cost of our lunch was incredibly reasonable. The quality and freshness of the produce is the standout. I cannot understand some of the reviews. Maybe some people didn't enjoy their selected meal but I feel it is ludicrous for a restaurant and food of this quality to be rated 1 or 2 stars. We will be back again soon.

The brioche bun, while nicely crispy on the outside, the interior was dry and stale. As if it was made days ago. The slaw was decent, but the sauce was underwhelming and of little flavour. More disappointing was the chicken. Was dry, room temperature, and over cooked. All in all go elsewhere for the burger tbh. Chain food stores are down stairs, with burgers quarter the cost and likely to be better. Their onion rings are decent though.

Rockpool is impressive from the start. Beautiful lighting, modern furniture. Helpful and sincere staff. As many reviewers have already said, the bread and butter sets the tone. A very long list of drinks is fun but in the end the recommended Italian sour was pretty good. My partner and I shared a raw fish tasting plate - subtle flavours and some fish I have never eaten before. We then ordered the $60 fillet and $129 sirloin just to compare with each other. Both were amazing but the depth of flavours in the sirloin is why it's so expensive. The deserts were very good. Thanks for a fun night out!!

We had a pleasant experience from the time we arrived. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant decor was much more aesthetically pleasing in person than in the photos and allowed for conversation. The food was reasonable as was the wait time. I just had to try an eye fillet that had been aged for 36 months. The standouts for me were the cauliflower and cheese gratin and the Black Forest desert was to die for. I thought some of the prices were over the top but overall a pleasant dining experience.

Managed to get a table for two without a booking - winning! The service was great, perhaps over attentive - we had 4 people ask how our entree was and 4 people as how our mains were. Garlic prawns entree was a good size, but that's where the portion vs price ended. Squid and pork belly came with about 4 bite size pieces of squid and 3 pork belly squares. The main tortellini came with 2 "king" prawns and five pieces of tortellini. For $57 it really didn't hit the mark. The coral trout was cooked to perfection but also 55 with no sides. A good experience and some lovely fresh food but it wasn't worth the price. I've had the same quality for less than half that price in Perth and will definitely be going back to those places before trying Rockpool again.

Went here for an anniversary meal and it was a last minute decision so no booking. Asked for a table for two and was told sure we have tables in the bar. Asked if there was any in the restaurant as it was a special occasion. Much eye rolling and shuffling of paper and we were lead to a table in the restaurant. I love the ambiance, the lighting and seating is really well done. The service is professional and friendly too once seated. One small niggle for me is you don't seem to see the same person twice. The person who gave us menus was different to the person who brought our bread, who filled the water, took our order, brought our starters, mains, all different. The food. Tuna tartare to start and it was delicious. Made a bad choice with the corner silverside beef. It was tasteless with a texture of really thick cut ham. I left half of it as it wasn't enjoyable. Loved the chips and the onion rings but pricey sides at over $12 each. I do like Rockpool for the ambiance but the food usually let's it down for me. I'll be back but not in a hurry.

My bleu fillet and my SO's medium rare Geographe rib-eye on the bone were spectacular. We tried a good selection of different whiskeys and my martinis were amazing. We had the creamed corn and potatoes to make for a very heavy meal but it was so balanced, neither of us walked out feeling like we should waddle. Our waiter was very charming and just the right amount of relaxed for our style. He was very knowledgeable. Ambience was very romantic and we didn't feel cramped at all. It might be a little dark to some people but it felt like you were dining alone. 10/10 can't wait to go back!

Rockpool, Crowne Casino, Perth WA We had to try Neil Perry's signature restaurant in Perth. The place is amazing starting from the elegant long hall entrance which features aged meats in the windows. The setting and ambiance were simply sensational. On top of all that the service was amazing and difficult to fault. There was just one thing - the food was pretty average - especially considering the prices. The oysters were very fresh and tasted of the sea - so was the local fish. But the rest was disappointing. The butterflied BBQ prawns were very dry and pretty average. My steak was presented and cooked perfectly - aged grass fed rib eye on the bone. But sadly very 'chewie' and tasteless. For $60 / 350 grams my local RSL does much better,,,and bigger. Later I read many reviews online & particularly on Google. Seems people are either really disappointed or quite happy - not much in between. I guess my expectations far exceeded the reality of the night. Seems Mr.Perry needs more than the best produce. It may be the cornerstone of good cooking but it's not enough to get the results a lot of people expect for their hard earned dollars. Still, the restaurant has everything else going for it including a fantastic wine and beverage menu. I think I counted 13 pages of Pinot Noir's alone. Pretty impressive. We had a group booking in the secluded private function room one Saturday evening. RP was packed with people and probably just as many floor and kitchen staff as the guests. We had (6 course set menu) selections were delightfully scrumptious and well presented. Given RP was packed. I couldn't really tell the difference between the grain fed -or grass fed when it came to the stakes and I couldn't be so sure if the grain fed beast didn't occasionally venture into the greener pastures. But be that as it may even the captain couldn't disagreed with me on that point. As I counted we had about 10 waiters waiting on our table and could not fault the service one bit. RP is not a cheap restaurant by any measure and for the price we paid we could have literally flown everyone to Hard Rock Hotel in Penang for dinner and back and still have spare change for the lemo ride home from Perth Airport. But that said I still feel the food and service was worth the money on that occasion.

My wife and I recently had a celebratory dinner here. We had heard many good things about Rockpool, but it still managed to exceed our expectations. The food, ambiance and service were brilliant. The service was personalised and each cluster of tables have their own Sommelier, and ours, Matthew, was extremely knowledgeable on the wine list. Ensure you leave room for desserts. All in all a visit to Rockpool is right up there with the best dining you will find in Perth.

Entrée - Crudo of tuna, trout etc. Great lime and olive oil dressing but most of the tuna/trout pieces had fatty/chewy pieces which were inedible. Why even send those pieces out? Mains - fillet steak 250 g. Ok sauce. Steak was also just ok. Sides were the saviour. Desert - quark. Delicious Service was good. Waitress took the Entrée of our bill when we showed her the fatty pieces. Simply can’t justify the price for something that isn't as amazing as it tries to be.

My mates and I dine here frequently and although the side dishes can be hit or miss, I've not had a bad service experience during the lunch or dinner hours. It's definitely worth a go and it has the added benefit of being a bogan free environment.
