Comments of The Guildford Hotel

Great food. The restoration, post fire, is well done; leaving aesthetically pleasing fire damage, but opening up the building, giving a great atmosphere.
Live music on a Sunday was fantastic
E. G.
3 Adults attended for a birthday dinner mid week. Booked ahead.
Food and drinks were amazing. Dessert was fantastic (we had one each lol)
However, the service was very poor. QR ordering online seems to be the new thing however no way to add or edit items which means for drinks have to go up to the bar. The bar was busy with people trying to order and only one staff. (whom I believe was also the manager for the night/front of house). Staff were extremely slow, seemed inexperienced and stood around looking like they didn't know what to do next. No order from bar staff in the sense people were cutting lines. one bar said closed for service and then 3 people get served who were behind us. we waited for about 15min to even order our drinks. We had to wait 30-40min for desserts which we had to chase a waiter for and then still Waited another 10-15 for them to arrive.
Food was great and Dessert amazing. thanks

Men’s toilet is absolutely disgusting! Urinal is completely backed up and makes the whole room smell putrid. Modesty screen is resting on the wall and soap dispensers completely ripped off the wall… for the price of food and seeing the establishment is almost always full, you’d imagine some of the proceeds would be spent on upkeep?

We haven't been out to Guilford for some years. Our day trip was delightful.
The hotel is certainly up-market. An award- winning renovation has turned a 100 year old country pub in to a bar and restaurant which could compete with any of the inner-city hotels.
Well worth a look up stairs, and around the building!!
Our meal was enjoyable, and the place has obviously hit the spot with party groups of 20+ year olds.
But don't worry us..us more seniors folk are equally well catered for.

First time I've been here. I was mesmerised by the decor. My friend brought me to celebrate my bday and I'll definitely be back. Lovely food. Great atmosphere. Will stay longer next time.

Last time I was here 2 years ago and I didn't like it. But I wanted to try again and last Thursday I was pleasantly surprised. Food was so good👍
A. L.
Amazing hotel. Renovated after a big fireplace 2008. They have left parts of the old building there including fireplaces, windows and more. Good menu and fast service.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night and this place gets packed. I'd recommend booking in advance. They have a great selection of drinks and the staff are super friendly and attentive.
Dinner for 11 people, long wait time was expected but it was nothing too major. Every single person at our table was happy with their food. My favourites were the cheesy garlic bread and the cheese board but honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Overall this place is amazing and I'll definitely be returning to try more items off of the menu. 10/10

Really good food, especially the smoked meats, however it did take over an hour to arrive. The initial service was incredible walked us through the menu and gave us her personal selections (which we went with) Unfortunately our plates were dirty, in the middle of COVID, and when we asked for more water one staff member was very snarky about it.
Great food, great atmosphere but mired by average overall service.
O. C.
Beautiful piece of history. The layout of the building is brilliant with lots of tables and seating areas (in and out). Food and drink are well priced and decently portioned. THE STAFF, oh they are top notch, I was served by a good lad named Zack. Suggested different drinks for me and my group and whenever we returned to the bar for more, we looked only for him! Will be coming back soon!
S. A.
Food is always amazing. Can't recommend the cheeseburger spring rolls enough!
Easy to order via the app.
Bring a jacket though, as i sometimes find it a little cool even sitting inside.
s. c.
Very cosy place to go with family and friends. The staffs are very friendly. The food is good too And good portion offered at good price. Highly recommend the Guildford hotel to everyone. Definitely give it a try💚💜
K. C.
Great pub, great atmosphere - have been going for years as it's such a great spot to catch up with mates.
I've got to finally get on and give them 5 stars now because:
1. The club sandwich I had last night was incredibly delicious
and
2. They found the wallets that my partner and I accidentally left on our table and kept them safe for us overnight. Thanks Gilly Team 🤙🏻 we'll be back again, as ever.

I enjoy going to the Guildford hotel often and
The staff are friendly there
I had Chelsea serve me recently with a bubbly and helpful attitude which made my experience better than most places around.
I will recommend this place to others due to these reasons and definitely try the buttermilk chicken and cheeseburger spring rolls!!!
They are so gooooood 👌

I would happily buy a house in this Suburb, just so I could make this place my local. Driven over an hour to have a meal and a couple of Beers there over 5 times now and every meal had the perfect portion, taste and presentation. Great staff, cold Beer and beautifully restored old Pub.
If you want to go, I would ensure you book, always busy.
A. P.
Excellent atmosphere for lunch. Popular with locals and tourists alike. Good range of beers on tap and a good variety of food choices.
I.
Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.. meals are tasty and portions good for your money

I have visited TGH a few times this year and it's always a great visit, the venue has been rebuilt really well, with parts of the old place retained,
Although it's a little pricey it's well worth the visit,
It's service with a smile at TGH, food and beverages are always fresh and tasty.
Easily recommended.

Went for dinner New Year’s Eve. Hubby had steak and chips with salad, he stated was very average. I had the smoked peach salad with chicken. Hmmm not a fan way too Smokey chicken was so dry was so hard to swallow. Not a fan. There was very little on the menu that appealed to either of us. What pub doesn’t serve garlic bread
W. L.
this place is not cheap but the renovation is absolutely beautiful! the meal was possibly the best we've had at a pub. the bbq beef brisket was awesome!
R. B.
Awesome vibe, the interior decor is stunning. It's really nice to see the history of the building coming through and on display. Food was delicious, lots of classic pub options and some with a bit of a twist (cheeseburger spring rolls - highly recommend). Service was friendly and helpful, and plates were large. Will go back for another weekend lunch!
C.
I visited the Guildford place thanks to word of mouth. To be honest I was a bit sceptical, as it is just pub food . But I must admit Guildford didn't disappoint. The venue is beautiful thanks to preservation of its history from the walls to the fire place. I highly recommend the place for events. Especially weddings...
They say a good burger is determined by quality of the meat and Guildford cheeseburger does meet the criteria. And top it all the staff were friendly. The only downside is, I found their high chairs to be a bit uncomfortable. But all in all. If you are looking for a good pub food I recommend the place. Will definitely come back.
F. M.
Before and after shot "Sanga steak sandy" huge massive and the "Cob", not bad in price, either, place was packed and we'll we orth it, we will be back
P. d. F.
What an awesome experience, food was excellent, range of drinks was also good, but the mangers really need to commend theiir staff on how nice they are with the customers. I was blown away with all the aspects of our visit. Unlike Kalamunda hotel where I’m sure Gorden Ramsey is going to visit soon for “Kitchen Nightmares “
L. M.
Great venue, excellent live band and food was exceptional. We ordered the "G's" board which was loaded with fresh and tasty delights, and ample for a starter for 6 people. Will be heading back there very soon.
O. A. M. M.
Guilford Hotel is unique, I sadly saw years ago when was ruined, now, sitting there on a lunch or a dinner, you feel, well, that is life, sometimes is hard, sometimes is give you good times. Like those parmi, yummy yummy.
B. F.
Amazing good and great service. Will definitely be back again.
The bao buns were the f%$ing best!!
D. O.
Good grub, charming historic venue.
The vegan cheeseburger was great.
🍻🍔🌱
M. K.
My husband and I went to this pub for friend's birthday. It was on friday night and there was a live music which is cool. And also I liked the atmosphere and how you can order food on your phone. We ordered chicken parmi and club sandwhich. And chicken parmi was great but it didnt have enough dressing for the salad. The club sandwhich came with decent amount of chips but brisket was pretty dry to eat. Overall it was fine.
S. S.
Lovely place but could do with some fans or some sort of air circulation in the top dining section upstairs. During summer even at night it can get very warm and stuffy up there otherwise it's a nice place
C. C.
Great service that was attentive and friendly. Our server explained the menu and ordering options (app, tab with table service or order at the bar). We chose the tab and got great service. Drinks were great, I enjoyed a passionfruit cocktail. We ordered from the smalls menu, plates and the BBQ menu. All very good food.
C. “. F.
We had such a fantastic meal here. The smoked pork was so delicious. The Bao buns are divine. And the cheeseburger spring rolls!
N. J.
Today we visited the Guildford Hotel and we were extremely pleased with everything. I had the toasted Cuban with a Pink G & T. It was the best. Service was fantastic, as staff go out of their way for their customer. We love the history of this pub which has a written reminder on the front of the menu. It's the little things that make a pub come together and the Guildford achieves all of these little details successfully.
K. S.
Situated on James Street Guildford, the iconic Guildford Hotel combines heritage elegance with stunning restoration. The Guildford Hotel radiates atmosphere both inside their restored dining room and outside in the gorgeous beer garden. This grand hotel was built in 1883, has been through the gold rush era and the two World Wars. Sadly she was destroyed by fire in 2008 and then brought back to life after 8 years with a magnificent restoration. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying her beauty while I tasted a Lychee Pineapple Spritz Cocktail paired with their famous Cheeseburger Spring Rolls. Both so amazingly tasty!! Truly a magnificent venue
E. C.
The Guildford is the best place I have been too in a long time and I have been to a lot of places. Hands down I highly recommend this venue for a families venue and a party scene. Staff are top class!
J. T.
Yeah not bad, burger I had was the dirty double. Needed a bit more, was lacking something. I’m sure it was a nice patty but you can have all the ingredients but be missing the right seasoning. Room for improvement given the price. Perhaps refine the menu a bit..
Very nice building, toilets were a bit rank however (that can be tricky job to keep up though ) and those are the blokes. I’m sure the ladies are night / day difference.
J. K.
We came back! And so glad we did. The staff were so helpful and friendly, great atmosphere and food was quick and delicious. No faults, whatsoever. Thanks to all for making our Boxing day a good one!
This was the original post.... "Lovely building and it is great they celebrate the history of the place. Food was decent but the service was lacking. We arrived and were told to sit anywhere without a reservation sign, which was fine, but the only ones left were dirty and were not cleaned of used items. We ordered food online as requested and the notes we had put for little ice were ignored. Food came quickly but the waitress just dropped the food without offering cutlery or sauce. We ended up getting up to ask for cutlery and skipped sauce for our fries as we felt it would bother them. No S&P on tables either. The supervisor/manager came and checked on our food which was great and from what we noticed, she was so attentive to her bookings, explaining everything in detail. We wondered if we should make a booking next time if we did decide to pop by again.
D. W.
Great vibe. Good food. Looking forward to my next visit there. Male toilet needs some attention tho.

Had a family xmas get together lunch here and after hearing some not so good things about the place, we found everything was prefect and was so glad we went there. A few of us had the all day special, because it was a Thursday it was a $20 steak chips and salad and it was absolutely lovely! (my picture does not do it justice!) A very tasty cut of meat not the usual cheap cut at all and cooked to perfection! Parents had fish and chips which they said was very yummy and one had the chicken burger and chips which apparently was very tasty and extremely filling with a huge chunk of chicken inside! We finally had room for some sweets and coffee and was not disappointed, tasty sweet pavlova and fruit and a chocolatey cheesecake that my dad demolished and a great latte to go wth them! This lead us back a couple of days later for a quick night meal and we had the best steak sandwiches! Very tasty and no chewy bits so was very impressed. Lovely atmosphere and great friendly staff who all seem very happy to please and I loved the renovations, leaving some old world charm and not finished renovations looks which are great! I would highly recommend trying it out, forget what you have heard if you have heard it was expensive for what you got as this has all changed, prices are good and worth a go. Check out the Tuesday and Wednesday all day specials as well they look worthwhile trying.
S. P.
Friendly atmosphere, polite and helpful waitstaff + lovely bar staff.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, will be coming back in the future 😊
N. P.
Great atmosphere and food. Parking at the rear is a nightmare though: especially at night, the overflow has no bays marked.
A. M.
We had lunch today and ordered the loaded parmi and the beetroot and goats cheese salad. The food was simply amazing! The staff were very friendly and service was very good. Could not fault a thing. We were so impressed, we thanked the staff for our meal and service before leaving.
C. H.
Beef brisket v good. Mashed potato tasted like butter! Delightful
M. G.
Been here a couple of times and it's an all round good pub. Nice restaurant with friendly staff or a casual beer garden great for catch ups or after work drinks. They've now implemented the QR code system so you don't even have to get up to get drinks. Will keep coming back
S. H.
Great food, ribs were amazing and fell apart, really interesting and tasty cocktails and a great atmosphere. Very friendly staff, will definitely be back.
P. C.
I have nothing but the best highjy recommended comments to say about this professional run business . I had .my 60th Birthday at this wonderful venue and was not once dissspointed as the staff were constantly waiting on our table with food & drinks & I cant Thank the staff enough they were amazing . Thank You Kind Regards Pauline Lea Crocker . Party 05/02/2022

What a great place! We stopped in just for a drink and stayed for quite a while! The meals here are just huge! The staff are more than helpful. Nothing is a problem for them when it comes to making your visit pleasant. Make this a definite stop in if travelling through! The water misting outside made it very pleasant for sitting on the 37 degree day we were there. They even provide icicle pops for pouches free if you purchase something from the bar! We will be back!

Good food, (burger and smoked brisket sanger highly recommended) and good quality beers. Hotel has been very well refurbished following the fire, it is a lovely venue.
UPDATE 2021 here I am again and smoked brisket burger delicious as always, meat smoky falling apart tasty charred ends and lovely sauce. Chips way above average too. Good selection of drinks including the mighty Hop Hog. Live music now.
Also you can order from your table via website which works seamlessly and is so cool for lazies like me. My go to pub in Midland area.
E. E.
An interesting building, good menu (great if you love burgers), friendly service. Shared a couple of small plates between two for a nice lunch
E. H.
We went for Christmas dinner. Great staff, super friendly, nothing was to much trouble, plenty of wine and alcohol and fantastic food and plenty of it. Highly recommend it.
Thankyou Guilford hotel for a great Christmas day 👍🤗🎅
P. B.
It's an absolutely beautifuly restored hotel, especially with some of the floors missing & old fire places & hand basins still on the walls. The food was great ,and putting your order in by using your phone is brilliant & easy to use.
The service was spot on, nice & friendly & nothing was a bother when we had a few questions, awesome ambience.
Highly recommended & we'll be back soon
D. H.
A Historic Pub beautifuly restored from 2008 fire even keeping the burned out floors and restoring the fire places and keeping many of the original features.
This was my first visit but I discovered immediately that they are pumping out outstanding food visited with some mates the cheeseburger spring rolls were the star of the show followed closely by the buttermilk chicken bites. This pub is a win.
N. T.
Great food. The chefs did am amazing job, but for the price the service and selection of alcohol is not that great. I paid $8 for a salad and was informed I couldn't take what I couldn't finish eating home. The staff is unorganized. Younger hip crowd and children are allowed here. Nice atmosphere but too expensive for the service.
M. K.
Went there for lunch with my wife. The food was cheap and tasted pretty good. My wife and I ordered a Salt and Pepper Squid, Buttermilk Fried Chicken and a Kid's Burger for my small son. I also had a pint of cider and my wife had a Lemon Lime Bitters. I think all of it came to 53 and there was plenty for all to eat
M. M.
Can't fault today's visit. From start to finish.
Firstly,Staff(service, attitude, efficiency, attentiveness) to the individuals thank you for putting effort and care into your jobs, Perth needs to learn a few things from you guys.Someone has this place purring and they deserve a huge pat on the back👏
Secondly,Food.
I had the Beef brisket 300gm $30. This was the best brisket(smoked on site btw) I have had in Australia. It was so good that it was on par with some of the best brisket I have had in the states. Can't wait to head back here for more BBQ goodness. Well done to the pit master and crew 🤤💪
Ambience and decor were the final kickers that tied it all together, 5 ⭐ nothing less. I'll be back, if you couldn't guess from write up..
P. O.
I never went to this place before the renovation so can't compare it to the old place. But being a first timer here, I had a great time. The venue is spacious and the decor is so good, keeping some of the old with the new. A great space with plenty of seating dotted around to cater for all types of custom. Really good for big groups right down to a couple wanting a leisurely bite. The bar is pretty big so getting served quickly is not a problem and the staff were quick to recommend the lamb which was melt in your mouth. A few tv screens and great outdoor place makes this place fantastic for groups of friends or families to get together and hang out. I look forward to going again.
L. G.
Excellent place to spend a Sunday arvo, place was buzzing so a 30 minute wait for food, time to experience a delicious cocktail while waiting. Service with a smile at the bar and friendly efficient servers. Food was first class and a live band was an extra bonus. Highly recommend
C. L.
Good vibes and food but the service needs to improve.
B. F.
This restored Hotel is not only an interesting place to visit but the food is great with large servings, fast service & is also reasonably priced. It like large & popular places is a little noisy but the ambiance makes up for that. I would recommend it as a place for a good meal with family or friends & will visit again.
R. W.
The Guildford Hotel is a great place for a date night or group catch up. Order at your table with your mobile device. Good range, value for money, family friendly, historic venue. Definitely worth the visit if your in the area.
P. M.
Nice venue but an extremely long wait for food. It was a busy holiday Monday having been told there would be a 45 min. wait were prepared for a delay. 2 hours later after asking a waitress who needed to ask for our salads to be made we received our meals. The pear and blue cheese salad was good but the Ceasar salad was very average and obviously "thrown together" and the serve of squid we ordered was barely ccoked.
W. P.
Felt like my fave cocktail, Mojito. Oh dear.. Tasted like a gin & soda water. The skinny leaf on top was supposed to be the mint. Poor little mint leaf. The slice of lime was about 20 years old I think, stuck to the glass all that time. Poor lime slice. Young bar guy kindly tried to fix it for me but thought that adding 'fresh' mint would make it sour. ??
Obviously, her never eaten mint before. Poor guy.
The 250g rump steak was very good but served w sad, anemic chips 😑, good serve of salad on the side but needed more dressing.
Two meals like that, one mojito (sort of) & a beer, $95. Relaxed atmosphere.
C. H.
Had a date here tonight service was good, establishment was clean and both food and drinks were spot on.
D. F.
Really worth visiting if you haven't been. Great atmosphere and the renovations and restoration is worth a look. Good food and service on my first trip.
T. H.
A must stop location in Guilford. The food is spectacular and their on tap beer, cider and ginger beer selection were excellent. We stopped in to the beer garden on a 37 degree day and very much appreciated the shade of the umbrellas and water misters. We will definitely be back!
J. N.
The meals and brew here are great. Worth a visit.
J. I.
Fantastic Christmas lunch, incredible food and service. I have never been disappointed on the many occasions I have gone to the Guildford Hotel
a. Z.
mum is visiting Perth. took her here couple of times. she absolutely love the place.
A. B.
Great meal tonight, thanks for the great service.
T. B.
So pleased they restored it! Foods not bad either
W. P.

What a great not so little pub.. check it out you'll be glad you did.
J. N.
Awesome pub, still has reminders of the fire that partially burnt it.
Great venue for a function, we attended a weddings 🥰 scrumptious food, great wait /bar staff

Fantastic service, food and hygeine. First time i had been there since the reopening. The way the have saved the heritage building after the fire in 2008 is to be commended.
J. C.
The barbecue is awesome. Highly recommend the brisket, it just falls apart it is so tender.
Service can be a little slow if ordwring with the app, would recommend avoiding the app for drinks orders
E. D.
Please try the cheeseburger spring rolls - they are fabulous. Their spritz cocktails are also lovely - especially the watermelon one.
N. E.
All in all good night, nice atmosphere. I ordered the rump steak, the red wine jus and chips were a little too salty. Bao buns served with HEAPS of cashew nuts.
c. k.
They have done such a great job keeping alot of the old pub part of the renovation! Staff are friendly and quick to help with any needs you have, lots of places to chill out and relax over a drink, or if you want to watch some sport then go to the sports bar section, or head to the top section if you just want to watch traffic and people go by. Would definitely come back, pricing is still great value and cheaper then most other flash pubs I've been too. Well done Guildford hotel well done
N. C.
Beautiful building! The food was quite nice. I ordered the brisket and for desert I got pecan pie. Only draw back was the time it took to receive our food, there was quite a wait.
J. C.
My first visit and definitely not the last. Great atmosphere and plenty of room inside and tables spread apart so you're not packed in. Fab service from really genuinely friendly staff and meals are generous.
K. C.
First time here & staff were very friendly & helpful whilst trying to choose a first drink.:) Building is renovated with such amazing detail in preserving its heritage, Congratulations! A very pleasant atmosphere for all ages. Drinks & food selection were also great. A venue worth many repeat visits.

It’s been about 25 years since I last visited the Guildford hotel. Since then it has been burnt to the ground, its had a lot of controversy about how it caught fire etc. The rebuilding the establishment seemed to go on for years, but now it’s back up and running and looking amazing.
When I walked in, it was a very cool blend of old and new as it still had the charred roof beams sticking out of the wall and an old basin that looks like it might have been part of the old toilets upstairs still sitting in the corner it was a very cool historical pub and the way it’s been rebuilt has captured some of its past really well.
The new presentation of the hotel looks fantastic, and all the people seem to enjoy the surroundings with some still talking about where things were located before the last fire.
I believe the hotel has been there since 1883 and I’m sure it’ll still be there in 2083.
A really friendly vibe with a large variety of drinks to be had with your meal or just to socialise.
J. A.
This old meets new pub, manages to keep its character and charm, while integrating modern aesthetics and providing contempary menu. Walking in on a cold wet day, the warmth from the fireplaces makes you feel like you are being bathed in a warm welcome. The pub was busy and I'd recommend booking a table ahead of time. Covid has made some changes to how we eat out and one of the ways the Guildford has adapted by offering online ordering at the table. You scan a QR code on the menu which takes you to their website and there you order the food and drinks, paying via online portal and entering your table number. Then wait enjoying the exposed brick and lovely character of the building as food and drink is served to your table. Service was very quick and frieny helpful staff. There is definitely something to be said about pressing a button on your phone and a pint being brought to your table, rather then waiting to catch the bar staffs attention.
The food was varied traduonal pub food, with a few quirky contempary feasts. The menu is great to share food with friends, with small ates and large atters to share. The brussel sprouts were yum for me.
Overall a great evening here, and look forward to coming back.
J. R.
Visited yesterday for lunch and to discover this wonderful restored historic building. We shared sliders of haloumi, beetroot and salad, S&P Squid. Most enjoyable, there could have been more Haloumi in the sliders and the squid was not too cool and insufficient pepper. The restoration is incredible and a must see as I have included. Note: photos were taken by an artist 😁
J. N.
Awesome pub, still has reminders of the fire that partially burnt it.
Great venue for a function, we attended a weddings 🥰 scrumptious food, great wait /bar staff
N.
Good food, plenty of choice. Great atmosphere, these guys know what they're doing. Will definitely be back.
G. C.
Awesome building, cool vibe! But the food was a let down. Ordered a Parma and steak sandwich, both were just ok! Then lemon meringue pie for dessert and the meringue was basically cream, the base was like undercooked pre made pastry and the filling was bland and almost chewy!
S. L.
Love the Guildford so much that we got married here! Can’t thank Holly and all the staff enough for their great service and attention to detail, it was a perfect day. So many compliments about the food, we couldn’t fault it. We go back at every opportunity and have never had a bad experience. Highly recommend
K. C.
Get extra pickles! We get Uber eats from here all the time but decided to venture out with some friends. Got the vegan burgers and buttermilk chicken. Burgers seemed bigger than we get on Uber eats, we were stuffed. Juicy, delicious and served with a generous serve of chips. The buttermilk chicken had a blue cheese sauce which was so smooth and moreish.
We asked for extra extra pickles & boy did they deliver! 4 little cups of pickles came out in all and we demolished them between 3 people. Thanks for fighting for us chef!
M. S. (.
The smoked meats are a must try. I had the beef brisket which was perfectly cooked. There was a bit of fat I left on my plate and the sauce was way too sweet but the charred corn and slaw were the perfect accompaniments. The setting is laid back with an old casual feel mixed with young vibes thanks to the new rennos.
The burger was deliciously disgusting- everything you want in a cheeseburger from the glazed bun to the overload of cheese and meaty flavour of the burger itself.
W. L.
Amazing food and cocktails. The menu is crazy good.... not your normal pub grub. And out side seating was lovely not crammed in but spacious. Well worth a visit. Kid friendly.
I. K.
This iconic building near Guildford Station was unused for quite some time. The new owner made surely quite an investment in it's renovation and the result looks indeed presentable.
The service is friendly and fast, the food is good but a little heavy.. and in my opinion it's a waste of potential to "degrade" this place with burgers, fries, and TVs everywhere to a sports bar.
The creative boards on the sidewalk in front of the entrance put a smile on my face.
m. m.
Great food and staff who care for you for a change. Nothing was to much trouble ,thanks guys
D.
Great place, with lots of rooms and quiet spots to chat with friends or a date.
Good grub, some choice beers, great staff and interesting architecture.
B. P.
They have done an amazing job rejuvenating the restaurant. Modern take on an old style restaurant.
P. B.
Nicely renovated pub.Looks like the Queens Hotel inside.Done a wonderful job and has a retractable roof over the eating+bar areas.
Good menu+bar drinks.Outside DJ.Upstairs reception centre upstairs and heaps of parking behind the complex.

Cannot fault this venue, my first time going there. Wow it was so busy and staff were friendly and went above and beyond for our table. Smoked meats were amazing, we had the whole damn lot to share and the chef even came out to speak to us! Brilliant venue and will recommend to all my friends and family!
D. W.
Ate at Locale Mio restaurant at the rear of Guildford Hotel.. Food was "ok", but nothing special really. Mass production Italian, definitely not what is portrayed in the website.
Kappys is close by and in my opinion, much better food quality and food choices
B. F.
Worst parmi I’ve ever had. But otherwise the other food is great, and very lovely atmosphere.

Hello,
Writing this review as it would have been great to read something similar to assist / budget in organising our sons 21st for about 40 guests on a Saturday night.
Nicole Parker ( Function Events and Sales Coordinator) and Holly Mason (Functions Manager) were a pleasure to deal with, everything went seamlessly. Holly supplied kids activity packs for the handful of nieces and nephews and made up flyers for the tables welcoming Lachie, describing the food and bar options. Bar staff, floor staff and security were very attentive and considerate.
The one handed grazing has a choice of 12 where you can choose 6, the Mac and Cheese croquettes were almost a meal within themselves, the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, were great, very Heston Blumenthal !
This food choice cost $1200 and there was about a tray left over if all combined. We supplied two cakes from Corica's.
Drinks, all tap beer ( PLENTY ) to choose from and ALL wine, not limited to house, soft drinks juice etc. I put $800 on the bar and there was money left over at 11pm. I was fully expecting to top it up as no one was being shy with the bar.
Even though the place was heaving, it was still possible to do a speech without disturbing anyone else. All the guests commented on the amazing restoration.
Lachie had a great night, was very happy and that's all that really matters.
Thank you to all the staff.
Tim Willix.

We had an amazing lunch at The Guildford Hotel on a recent tour of WA and it was an absolute highlight in hospitality over the 10 day trip. The presentation and style of the hotel was stunning and drew your eye to so many unique features. The meal we had was phenomenal and the bar and wait staff were so warm and friendly. A must go to if travelling through Guildford. Thanks again for the great experience.
K. L.
Nice cocktails but some we're unavailable due to lack of ingredients. Good food, the lychee cocktail was pretty! Service was quite slow but they were a little busy.
W. I. T.
Stopped at The Guildford Hotel for lunch on a Sunday. It was very busy around noon and took a little effort to find a table for three people, but we got one in the beer garden in the end, which was fab. If you have more than four in your group and want to come at noon I’d suggest reserving a table in advance. Ordered a pint of cider and the Gilly Cheeseburger which came with a good portion of chips and it was yum. Overall, this place had a good weekend vibe 😊 Check out wanderintwo.com for more Perth inspo!
L. C.
Attentive manager. Power was out due to a tree fallen over a power line. Every effort was made to locate another venue for our party.
H. T.
First time back in a pub for a long time, since covid going on and just giving birth in March this year. Food was delicious, beer was cold and service great. All staff very accommodating and all with a smile too. Our first pub outing as a family, thank you for having us!
H. J.
Food was delicious & servings were filling. There was multiple creative vegan options. Service was quick.
B. B.
Stunning. Really. Like what they've done with the place. Our first meal here, excited since I've followed the history and community outrage over how long it took to redevelop the site.
Food was top notch.
Must visit if in Guildford
a. Z.
mum is visiting Perth. took her here couple of times. she absolutely love the place.
D. L.
Great fish & chip and service. I was here over lunch, am really amaze by the restoration and historic ambience the hotel has preserved.
D. C.
I live south of the river and this place is worth the 20 minutes drive. Tonight I had the lamb shank with a cab sav and it was really well cooked. Just fell off the bone. My wife had the cheese burger and daughter had the mac and cheese. The 3 dished did us all very well. Highly recommend this hotel. Oh did I mention the 15 beers on tap?
A. O.
Amazing Italian food, the pasta and pizza were both exceptional. Good friendly staff. We were there for sunday lunch and it was not busy
S. b.
The vibe and food and service was on point! I can’t wait to go back. Those bao buns were amazing and the parmis have little unique twists to them to stand out from the usual pub feed.
S. D.
Really delicious food although the serving sizes are a bit small for the price. Craft beer range could also be improved. Other than that, it's a beautiful historic building with a cozy atmosphere and the customer service is great.
J. I.
Fantastic Christmas lunch, incredible food and service. I have never been disappointed on the many occasions I have gone to the Guildford Hotel
A. L.
Owner has spent a damn lot on improvements to get it to where it is today. Looks great and has made Guildford’s main road a lot less of a dilapidated pass through.
The food and drinks are your typical Perth menu and the costs what is usually associated with our city. Having said that the food is GREAT I’ll always have the schnitzel or medallions. Can be crowded at times despite having plenty of room over the levels. Happy to give 5 stars on the food alone but the staff at this establishment deserve another few stars on top. Must visit!
K.
My first visit here. I thought it was a great pub! Enjoyed a delicious dinner of Beef and Ale pie, smoky brisket, mushroom, served with miso mash and braised cabbage. Thought it was a lovely pub which was decked out nicely inside. Friendly customer service and value for money.
A. _. A.
Fantastic food. Always a lovely shaded spot for cold beer
R.
Beautifully renovated but the menu has less than desirable pub food. After spending years renovating you think they would employ a chef with some imagination. Steak sandwich, Fish & chjps... blah blah. Def nothing to rave about.
S. C.
Great pub. Staff excellent. Vouchers for birthdays and surveys offers great value.
L. S.
Amazing restored pub in the historic town of Guildford. This place has the biggest smoker I've seen in a while with an amazing parmy chock topped with smoked pork... Epic to say the least. Staff are friendly, I know at this time with covid and such a busy place, staff is in short supply, so give them a break and enjoy the atmosphere. Great selection of beers too!
C. G.
Love the place it really nice food and really nice place to hang out with frends or take your gf out. To nice place.
K. S.
Needs more parking and better access but it was a pleasure to be there, great atmosphere and friendly staff, will definitely visit again
E. K.
My partner and I visited on a busy Friday night where there was a much longer wait than usual on food. We ended up waiting over an hour for 2 burgers but what made up for it was the lovely staff member Chelsea who did her best to accomodate us and did it all with a smile and awesome attitude. During a chaotic service like that one having staff like Chelsea make all the difference!
S. C.
Great service, beautifully prepared food with generous portions. Well done!
S. W.
Cool historical atmosphere, friendly, casual, good service, generous portions and the Caesar Salad is very good.
M. D.
Excellent atmosphere and the beers cold. I went for a feed with the misses and ordered from the phone, that's new to me. I ordered a meal I never usually ordered, I chose wrong. That's not too say the food was bad it wasn't , just my judgement of trying something different.. go it's a good night or day out...
G. C.
Went up to Guildford for a drive and decided to try the Guildford hotel as hadn't been since it was rebuilt. We sat outside which was fine but looked inside to see how the rebuild looked. The interior was lovely apart from one thing, the awful tables and chairs. It was set out like a school canteen with very uncomfortable looking chairs. I can only describe it as soul less and feel the owners could have made it more cosy and inviting. We ordered meals, I had a Cesear Salad and my husband had the Buttermilk chicken with a side order of fries. Chicken was fine but nothing to write home about and the Blue cheese dip was a bit bland. The chips were okay but had been already salted and the whole meal tasted very salty. The curry dip with the chips was the best part. My salad was ok but hadn't been tossed so all the croutons, bacon bits and Parmesan was on the bottom of the bowl under a whole lot of lettuce, bit more effort would have been appreciated. Overall the food was so so not bad but nothing to write home about and very very expensive for what it was. Staff were pleasant but to the question would we go back then I'm afraid the answer would be no.
i. s.
Beautiful venue and food was amazing. The beef brisket burger was the best I have had. Will need to come back for another one ASAP. Service was great too.
I. P.
Lovely place, haven't been in over 20 years. good cold beer, food pretty good although i imagine some would want the burger patty not to be rare, didn't bother me. Very very slack at clearing the tables though.
K. A.
Great place, excellent food and wait staff. Very happy clients...
A. M.
Great food, decent amount of seating, great for a casual catch up with mates.
B. W.
Food, service, and great venue 10/10. We ordered the gilly get together menu for a friend's bday. Everything that was served is absolutely delicious. The harvey beef brisket and sticky pork are my faves 😋❤
E. B.
Excellent menu choices and the beverage menu wasn't too shabby either. The building is quite a drawcard, and enhances the occasion considerably.
It was extremely busy, and unfortunately the app-driven ordering system (on Android) couldn't pick up cards in my wallet or PayPal. Had to queue at the bar to order food as a result. No lost stars, as the response to this glitch was genuinely apologetic. I expect it will be sorted out soon, but maybe take your plastic just in case...
H. G.
Meal was yum. The main meals were alittle large for ladies. Options were very good.
K. M.
Always happy with the service and quality of food here. Smoked meats are delicious! The building has awesome character it has been beautifully and thoughtfully restored.
S. W.
Nice place, bar lady makes the best Lemon Lime and Bitters drink I've ever had.
J. D.
Great food, really great service behind the bar.
Vegie burger was awesome!
C. W.
Great surroundings. Nice food. Good beer and wine selection
J. O.
Mmmmm tasty morsels, very interesting menu. Great selection of drinks, service is good and it's a beautiful building, good night out
C. M.
Amazing atmosphere, service and food. Made my Red Hat group (Hatters With Attitude) feel very welcome. Will definitely be back.
M. S.
Was quite busy which probably attributed to the food taking quite a while but the food was well received by the table. Very cool building with a lot of history. Overall good experience but would recommend in the future to order from the table as the bar was very busy.
C. B.
I had a Gilly Cheese burger here and absolutely loved it except the chips were just a bit too salty for my taste
L. J.
Absolutely fantastic, the food was great and big portions 2,
d. T.
Thanks to the manager and the security lady who
Helped us today. The food are really fantastic
V. W.
Love this extraordinary establishment: the fire renovation work is art
Yummiest creative menu
♡♡♡♡♡
J. N.
The meals and brew here are great. Worth a visit.
S. M.
Went for Sunday lunch, it was great. We ordered online which was very convenient, makes you nervous if everything has worked. The pub is historical, judging by it's decor. I liked the food, it is sort of American bbq. Personally my bbq half chicken was over cooked and a bit dry, but everyone else in the group were very happy.
I enjoyed the experience, so recommended!
S. S.
Good for a beer and a bite. However feels more like an attraction rather than like your local pub. ** Update 5 years on**. We dined in the restaurant and it made for a nice change. Everything very easy. From booking online, to sitting and ordering. Prompt service of food and drinks, and delicious to boot. Comfortable, well spaced dining area. Good acoustics made for easy conversations despite being quite busy. Brisket from the Pitmaster range on the menu was awesome. Everyone at our table vowed to order it for themselves next time.
L. T.
Refurbishment of this historical pub is very nicely done.
The associated parking lot needs sorting out, insufficient spaces for this busy venue means that cars spill over into the adjacent (unsealed gravel space) in a higgledy-piggledy arrangement. As I suspected the gravel space is not owned by the hotel & despite providing feedback to the owner, no improvement has been negotiated. Oh well 🤷♀️, I'll still return in future albeit allowing extra time for parking. 😉
The electronic menu order system is user friendly (even for the over 50's age group), runs without a hitch & is efficient in getting drinks & food to the table in reasonable time frames.
Food was tasty & serving size generous.
Waitstaff present well & deliver service with professionalism at all points of contact.
Price range moderate considering serving size.
Just a quick shout out to G's PR team 🙋🏻♀️
I really respect your response to reviews/feedback. It is exemplary!! Well done 😃👍👍

Good food and good music! Guildford hotel is the place for lively Saturday evenings!
A. S.
Awesome pub, I love the character. Staff were great and so was the food.
C. P.
Such a lovely restaurant. Food is terrific with a great atmosphere.
A. R.
Awesome place to go to catch up with friends. Food is amazing, staff are friendly, and everything comes to the table so quickly! Absolutely love this place!
S. K. W.
Food and the service were great
Went there for a painting class
T. B.
So pleased they restored it! Foods not bad either
g. d.
Busy Saturday night but service very efficient, menu varied and reasonably priced, food well presented and decent sized
D. D.
Very cool rustic pub. Great food, good atmosphere.
d. L. (. b.
Always great food here! Can't get busy on the weekend
D. K.
Beer selection is top notch, fast friendly service, just don't use the ordering app, can take an extra 10 minutes for the drink to arrive, yes we did the test, order in person and via the app. Food has lots of flavour and not to long of a wait.
P. T.
Fantastic Food and one of the best reno,s I've seen, fantastic building
I. T.
Great service and food on Christmas day. Well done to all involved.
O.
What a great not so little pub.. check it out you'll be glad you did.
G. B.
All of the food was super tasty, very quick service, very friendly staff
L. T.
I liked a lot, family friendly, great atmosphere and good food.
k. G.
lovely food and nice atmosphere. however, went on a sunday, sat inside away from heat and live band.....too loud to chat to family as speakers were blaring! would recommend turning down sound inside to make it a 4/5 star :)
J. P.
Amazing decor.....
Nice pub food ...
Service abit sparce.....
d. p.
Food was great, cooked to perfection. Love the building and how it has been converted.
B. H.
Great food and great service! Lovely historic setting in the restored building. It Pumps on the weekends!
P. H.
Dropped in for a late lunch Easter Saturday. Place was packed but every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful and efficient.
Had a great meal with terrific atmosphere even when so busy. Couldn’t have been better
M. P.
Enjoyed the atmosphere mostly. The food was not out altogether and it got a little awkward. Bar staff fantastic well done .
I think the food could of been better but maybe to busy
Z. R. (. R.
Great place for a feed and some beers, staff are great too
J. K.
Absolutely love The Guildford. They did an amazing job rebuilding after the fire to keep the original charm but have a venue with plenty of seating options from indoors to a beautiful outdoor area. Friendly staff and amazing food!
You have to try the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls and Bao Buns. When it comes to drinks, they have a great range of spirits, beer and wine and make amazing cocktails.
L. T.
Great atmosphere every time, music volume is good, able to think but also loud enough to not hear every conversation across the room. Great remodel and blend of old and new.
A. B.
Came for lunch over the long weekend, the venue was heaving. There were long waits on food but we were made aware when we arrived. Food was amazing, staff really friendly and helpful even when busy, can’t fault this amazing venue.
Well done
M.
Shared a lovely lunch with my daughter. Our first visit and we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming guy. Although two vegetarians blundered into a mecca for smoked meat, we were quickly forgiven and steered in the direction of the choices available. We sat outside and enjoyed a lovely selection of side dishes. Very nice waitress too.
J. K.
Awesome decor and terrific bar service! The food was delicious and all the staff were so nice
V. R.
Went to the Guildford for dinner based on recommendation from a local Italian winemaker while doing tasting in Swan Valley. Newly revamped, large, busy and very popular, even on a Wednesday night. We ordered a few items off the menu, and were not disappointed by any of them.
A. M. (.
I visited The Guildford Hotel with a bunch of friends for dinner one night. We had booked a table and had no issues getting a table due to booking. I was thoroughly impressed that they could order using my iPhone and a QR code. This meant I could order promptly and pay all in the one transaction which I thoroughly loved. The food was fantastic, and filling and the drinks were flowing and tasty! Highly recommend visiting The Guildford Hotel on your journeys.
N. H.
The food was of a good standard, the cheeseburger spring rolls were nice as were the other finger food. Service was very good. Only complaint is that the taps could have a better selection of local craft rather than the generic staples
C. M.
Absolutely love it. Great atmosphere. Staff great. Enjoy a new beer... think it was called 105 lashes... and again what I ate was delicious.... thanks ...
D. W.
It's an amazing venue for birthday parties. We were here to provide a service for a 40th birthday and the Event Manager was very helpful and nice. Highly recommend it!
D. S.
Food was great and didn't have to wait long
A. J.
Food was great... Beer selection needs a lot of work!
N. H.
The food here is fantastic. It's a little more expensive (by a few $ ) but the portions are huge so it's fine.
There was an issue with very loud music but they promptly turned it down. So the service is stellar.
Can recommend to anyone wanting a more refined pub feed in a gorgeous location
A. P.
From walking in the door the service was spectacular! The lady greeting was very nice, the waiters were all lovely when we asked them questions. Great service is hard to find these days! We got 2 cocktails and I got the parmy and my friend got the vegan burger and both were so yummy! Huge servings!!! All came really quickly! It was a Friday night as well. Awesome.
M.
Food was absolutely scrumptious and the waiters were the best as they brought the food out in 10 mins. Best waiter was Lauren. Highly recommend having her serve your table.
R. P.
They've done a great job with the place, and the food is good also
N. F.
Good atmosphere and a beautifully renovated place. Limited selection of food, and some dishes on the menu weren't available when I went to order.
M. G. H.
A fabulous place. The best service, the best beer, the best decor, (really cool), and definitely the best veggie burger for miles.
P. M.
Good prices, meals were good would go there again
h. n.
New menu is fab, love the in house smoked meats. Cottage pie was beautiful. Mac and cheese is definitely worth a go too.
J. B.
Had lunch at this beautifully renovated hotel, is so unique with a modern twist to such a beautiful old building. Food was fantastic, great value for money & quality ingredients. Staff were friendly & helpful. A credit to the people that saved this landmark after the fire.
L. T.
Booked out the entire top floor for our wedding. It was really amazing, couldn't even tell there were people downstairs and the place was gorgeous. The staff (Holly) was very cooperative, willing to accomodate us in terms of furniture, schedule and dietary requirements.
We really enjoyed the food, and had so much left over! No complaints on quantity. It was a shame the restrictions on what drinks were available while upstairs but there was still a few options for anyone.
Guildford hotel was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding (except, of course, each other), and I would highly and emphatically recommend it
D. D.
Disappointing that we can't access balcony, due to function. Casear salad poor, lettuce should be mostly green rather than white, mostly stems not leaf, and the majority of the dish, bacon, croutons and 1 egg sparse. Jugs used get three glasses each but excessive ice means only two.Brussel sprouts were good though.
J. D.
The meal was great and the chicken parmi is one of the best one I had in ages.
M. G.
Came for a lunch on Tuesday, lady who welcomed and served us was excellent. Food was delicious and so were the cocktails. We will be back!
A. W.
Went for weekday lunch. Menu items are good sized portions and well presented. Service was fast and friendly with the lovely rustic and historic surroundings. Can't comment on evening and weekend experiences but if your looking for somewhere to eat during the week I would highly recommend for family, friends or travellers.
b. r.
Enjoyed a family catchup lunch. Quality food. Not too expensive. The service staff were first class and dealt with us in the most professional manner. We will be going back soon. Highly recommend a visit if you've never been or haven't been for a while.
T. S.
Great smoked meats and a beautifully restored building.
W. S.
$10 pint VB. Amazing looking place. Love it. Might come back on a Friday or Saturday night. $10 for a pint of 5.8% Coopers Sparkling Ale. That is my next beer!
A. B.
Great meal tonight, thanks for the great service.
S. G.
Hhhmmmm - the food was average, the staff where good - there was atmosphere and the buildings are enjoyably rustic
B. D.
OMG you must get the smoked club sandwich. Pulled pork and smoked brisket eats as good as it sounds. Awesome feel to this heritage hotel
P. F.
Perfect place to stop after a trip to Bells Rapids with our dog! Staff went running to get him a treat and to give him pats! Great food, lovely atmosphere, excellent staff
M. M.
Fantastic service with a warm welcome from Tracey and Pat at the bar going out of his way to deliver great service with a smile :)
Ive now been a few times with different family members and the 2 above mentioned staff have been great ! The venue has a wonderful ambience and history that is a credit to the lovely Guildford suburb. Ive had a chance to see the function rooms and they too are wonderful. The food is lovely , maybe try the spice rubbed chicken (Yum) The manager is friendly and appreciates feedback. If i could find any fault, i would ask 'Why is there no garlic bread ? Lol ' Great work team !!! We will be back for sure :)
Maxine & Family

Great food & service. Halloumi sticks with the hot sauce were great, as was the parmi.
The venue manager Katie, was really helpful with the online ordering system as well which is really handy, I love that I can see what I’m ordering!
Thank you
D. W.
Had the most amazing meal at the Guildford Hotel tonight. The meals were so delicious and like nothing we have ever eaten before. I had the Parmi that had pulled pork on top - fantastic! And the service was brilliant! Definitely worth the visit. We will be back, for sure.
C. S. (.
Awesome food, excellent Italian style service by people with passion. Parking can be an issue but there is always parking not too far away. I will definitely go back.
B. S.
Great atmosphere, warm and inviting. Great staff, always made to feel welcomed. Awesome range of craft beers and ciders on tap and amazing food. Been here countless times and would highly recommend.

Chill vibe, lots of seating, great wine list.

We have just experienced fantastic service and quality food. The staff were super friendly and the food portions were generous. Highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious food, fantastic service and very coeliac aware. We will definitely be back again
R. R.
A grand old pub. Food is delicious and there is a great selection of drinks. Guildford lager is a cracking beer and the buffalo chicken burger is awesome
K. C.
The very best in food & service. We regularly dine here.
C.
If you haven’t had the pancakes you need to! Probably the best I’ve ever had anywhere
Coffee is always really good here as well and the cinnamon scrolls are delicious the staff are always really nice too
R. B.
This review is 3 stars as compared to my previous 4 star review, as "My Mother" was disappointed your review responder didn't pay attention to the spelling of my name in a previous review acknowledgment.
My compliments to the decor design team, I love the decor
D. H.
The menu is a lot better and caters for normal diners. Is pretty over crowded and you need to book a table to get food or risk waiting around until someone leaves theirs.
L. F.
Really done up well with good food and delicious cocktails.
D. R.
My sisters and I took our Mum for lunch today at the Guildford Hotel and had a lovely dining experience. The maitre d, Tracey, was friendly and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed while the bar staff also provided a happy, personalised service. It was refreshing to see people obviously enjoying their workplace. Our meals were generous in size, delicious and good value for money. I'll be coming back!
m. g.
My family and my brother in-laws family had dinner here for my wife's citizenship celebration dinner. The table service was the best in WA in 5 year's I've been here. Every single plate of food came out at the same time. Never since I left Queensland have I been to a restaurant where the meals all came out together. The food was amazing too . Thank you to staff and chef's...... Paul
D. J.
Fairly-priced drinks. VERY average food (avoid). Stunning architecture. Sit upstairs and take in the view from the balcony as you have a cold one.
K. S.
Lovely place and service was good but I thought the food could be better, pretty average food for such a great place. I also couldn’t believe they only have one dessert!
M. T.
Great food, nice atmosphere. Just a bit expensive for my liking but the quality is there so it's worth it.
D. S.
Another solid meal from the Guily! Definitely coming back again!
T. B.
I took my Aunty and uncle here for lunch today, we were all very very happy with the service, the girl that took our drink orders was very friendly and helpful, the food was fantastic. Great atmosphere, and has four second hand stores next door to wander your boozy lunch away before driving home!
A. W.
Great food and lively atmosphere on a sat night. Happy hour half price food was excellent. We enjoyed the online ordering system but next time Will order the food with the app and drinks at the bar as the wait time was quite annoying. Will be back 👍🏻
C. M.
Will be back. Service was superb had a hiccup with meals. front of restaurant staff were unbelievable the best service I've encountered in a long time. THANK YOU.....food was great as well.
L. W.
Fantastic place for a meal, great service. There was some kind of class happening on Thursday night when we went. Looked interesting. 👍🏼
S. G.
Mixed up an order so couldn't enjoy the meal.
K. t. H.
Food is freaking amazing (get the Oreo cheesecake, screw the callories), and the staff are fantastic. We are absolutely coming back.
T. D.
Food was ok. Would have been good if the menu on the ordering app was the same as the printed menu.
Meal was delivered quickly to our table once ordered.
E. M.
Love the way they've made a modern spacious venue out of the shell of a heritage building that was damaged by fire, and kept many nods to the features of the original. The service is helpful and friendly, and meals are generously sized and tasty.
C. G.
Basically a burger place. Very 3 star burgers. Ceaaser salad was a bit of a fail. Fairly prompt service and reasonable pricing. Beautiful venue. Keens mayo n chips is the stand out dish.
J. D.
I organised my friends 50th on the 5th of June. From the moment I was on the phone with Chelsea I was in good hands. That night Chelsea met me with open arms and the biggest smile. Looked after the whole group..kept me upto date with food and bar tab. Chelsea went beyind her job. Looked for me to say goodnight. I am grateful for chelsea doing that extra mile. Thank you guildford hotel and a big hug to you Chelsea😘
R. O.
Great if your after a hearty pub feed with a great atmosphere.
B. S.
Just wanted to say how great this place is! Myself and family had dinner there tonight for the third time. Great atmosphere, the waitresses do such an excellent job when it was so busy. Helpful, friendly and calm. The food was great too!!
M. W.
Great service the food was very nice.
The DJ was a little over the top.
But all in all it was a great night out. Thanks guys
R. S.
Really nice food, quick service and bonus was you could order on an app from your seat without having to go up to the bar.
R. C.
Awesome! The staff are very friendly and helpful, food delicious, decor amazing. Well worth a visit for dinner and drinks.
S. G. (. g.
Great staff yummy food, drinks and awesome entertainment on the weekends.
T. H.
Beautiful building! Great atmosphere with friendly staff.
A. L.
The building combines the old and new nicely, while still show casing the fire damage. The menu contains a lot of smoked goods which is a nice take. They have a lot of events going on such as the Sunday sesh etc. Service staff were nice. The dirty double burger I ordered fell apart before I could finish it, which was a bit disappointing. The chips and burger were tasty though. I would recommend this place if you're looking for something different and interesting.
P. M.
We stopped in for lunch and the place was heaving with people post COVID. The service was friendly and the food arrived within 20 minutes but the food itself was mediocre pub fare. Greasy fish and chips, and a tasty but sloppy burger. The price was probably 15% too high but the popularity of the place means I might be wrong
I. P.
Restored lovingly. Nice warm atmosphere. I ordered the Beef Brisket and it was excellent. My wife had the fish and chips, and they were to die for. Only slight complaint was some of the tables were a bit dirty when we arrived. It was fixed quickly enough, but c'mon fellas! I thoroughly recommend it though.
D. W.
I love the renovated space. Love the BBQ too.
M. S.
Enjoined the small plate for 2 of us and the wine was good, both red and white. The great staff where around when you needed.

Beautifully restored venue. I love coming here on a winters day to eat their delicious food and enjoy the interior design.
P. G.
Great service, which is all important. Staff are to be complimented on their friendliness and service. Meals are of a good standard and pricing is okay. I had the barramundi, which was tasty but more fish and less batter is the way to go.
The venue is aesthetically brilliant, inside and out. The noise inside can become torturous because of the internal design but it is bearable for a quick in and out meal.
Drink prices are not on the cheap side, which is a shame.
L. O.
Apparently a martini fountain is not acceptable behaviour but give it a go. Food was awesome go the pepper squid excellent
K. W.
Came in for Saturday lunch and this place is fantastic. Service was brilliant and our group stayed into the night and wow what a great atmosphere this pub has. I ordered the steak sanga and it did not disappoint, we also started with the loaded cob loaf...amazing amazing amazing!! We will definitely be back again.
A. D.
Great got a big table for 9 great for the whole extended family good service &staff very friendly & Grandma loved the lift
e. c.
A pub with a history. My partner and I always dine here atleast once a month. Albany pork butt is my favorite. Good atmosphere.
M. F.
One of my fav spots for a pint. We were also recently at an event here, the staff are amazing. This place has character, we'll be back soon that's for sure.
D. B.
What can I say. The Guildford is bloody awesome. What has been done with the renovations incorporating both new and old heritage building is nothing short of amazing. The food was a little shaky to start of with but has improved no bounds. Just delightful. Only problem is it’s always so busy, but with so many different seating areas it’s usually not a problem!
L. B.
Fabulous place . Great atmosphere . Food great. Worth a visit and a meal.
M. E.
Food and drinks were amazing, enjoyed the atmosphere.
D. B.
Great ambience, good selection of meals and drinks
I. M.
Lovely venue/ atmosphere. Unfortunately the service was slow. It was quite busy for a Tuesday lunch time. There was only on bartender on staff at the time. The food was average. The battered fish was seeping out oil. Salad was boring/not crisp made up with lettuce and one wedge of mushy tomato. Felt very sick after eating the meal.
K. L.
Went to the hotel for a 40th Birthday and we had great room for group of 10 people. Menu was great and once you order a short time before it arrives. It has a great outside area with tables and seating which was completely full.
O.
This is a great place to come for a drink. Meals are great especially the smoked and bbq meats. Good burgers too. A very interesting building with a unique style after the renovations were completed due to fire damage. Definitely worth a visit and a pint.
L. D.
Great pub vibe with decent selection of beers, perfect for sitting and catching up with old mates
T. B.
Atmosphere was great and the venue looks fantastic and unique. The food service was as expected and the food itself (I had one of the mega sandwiches from the Sunday specials), although very filling - so much that I could not finish it - was only ok. It lacked flavour in the breading mix for the buttermilk chicken. I'd go back again and try something different, just in case it was a one-off, but don't over order as their portions are big, even for the normal size food.
P. H.
Loved it! Everytime! Excellent Customer Service
L. T.
Too noisy and too busy. Not a goid place to catch up with friends over lunch. The food is alright though. Didn't like the coconut cocktail, it was too sweet.
C. M.
Can't help but love the Guilford Hotel. The fave local, a brilliant makeover since the fire, great pub food with big portions, a cool vibe, excellent drinks choices. Love it every time here!
m. g.
Nicely renovated. Good food
k. a.
Vego options fire! Bao buns, halloumi burger, beyond burger 🤌🏽 People were very friendly, interior V nice, music on point. 11/10 would recommend!!
E. F.
Flashy, but lacking character. Not a bad stop though
F. M.
The place has been done up so well. A combernation of old and new, very tasteful, very charming.
Staff were excellent and never tardy, always keeping the tables clean.
Prices weren't to bad and food looked awesome. Beautiful.
D. S.
Large selection of beer and good food.
G. D.
Top spot, why wouldn't you go there! Surrounds and staff are awesome. Our group was let down a little with the food but it could have been an off day in the kitchen
M. P.
Nice steak, good atmosphere, live band.
Worth the look. Will return.
C. L.
Spacious and nice environment. Food was nice but pricing on the high side for the smalls...
M. R.
Beautifully renovated but very warm inside on a hot day. Also rather than air con etc. you get spritzed with water every now and then, which I find unappealing. Perhaps there's some architectural reason why the place isn't air conditioned but the staff are friendly, the food is stylish pub grub and the interior is unique and classy. Lovely place to take your interstate visitors or to catch up with friends for a Sunday sesh.
After posting the above review I received a lovely message from the owner. Very nice, polite message and much appreciated. I am told the place is air conditioned. Perhaps it was unusually warm due to the amount of people inside on a hot day?? In any case the subsequent contact was indicative of the level of service always received at the Guildford Hotel...👍
D. G.
Good food, good drinks and good atmosphere!
M. t.
Great atmosphere & delicious food!
We ordered some Chicken katsu & Pork belly Bao buns, chipotle macaroni cheese and halloumi sticks with chilli jam all very tasty and served in a timely manner. we thoroughly enjoyed our evening, Thanks Guildford Hotel team! will be visiting again soon =)
D. T.
This place looks amazing. The design and layout makes the most of an unfortunate disaster that badly damaged the building. It now leaves it open and airy. The beer garden makes for a great place to have a quiet chat or to take in some live music. The upstairs area is amazing too
P. D.
This building was going to be demolished after a big fire. Thankfully the surrounding community eventually stopped its planned destruction because today its a great place to go for drinks and eats surrounded by character from a bygone era. The architects who redesigned the building to keep its character whilst incorporating elements of the actual fire did an inspiring job and should be congratulated. Very interesting place to walk around and view the bits and pieces. Friendly and helpful staff along with good range of beers/ciders on tap.
Y.
Nice food but coffe dissaponts
N. S. C.
This place has a really good atmosphere whether it be dining inside or out or having a drink or two. The serving sizes are generous, the waitstaff are helpful and friendly. Check out the photo of the parmi. It was a monster and hubby smashed it ;)
R. S.
Great food. A little bit over priced
D. C.
Food and service always seems to be great!
We tried the Sunday social of a foot long chicken sanga (which both my partner and I had to share due to the size of it!).
I've been a few times and everything I have ordered off the menu has been really delicious.
Pricing is probably about the same that you would pay at most pubs, maybe slightly higher, but it's totally worth it!
N.
After a fire forced the restoration of this historic building, it has become a mixture of modern design and an old rustic feel. Space is limited, as well as parking. Food and drinks cost above average but they match the decor nicely. Plenty of craft beers and their menu is basic and wholesome with a quirky modern twist.
A. G.
Walked in off the street after a failed venue option left us disappointed. Got a table straight away with fantastic service.
Excellent meal with plenty of options provided - couldn't really fault anything.
Classy pub style venue with modern features and I'm delighted to know uber eats is available if I'm feeling lazy.
10/10 today!
N. F.
The Guildford is the best venue! Service, staff and food is outstanding. Katie and Kate are both amazing and recommended the best options to try! The cob loaf is to die for and a must try. Will definitely be back again! Thank you for such a brilliant day!
H. W.
Beautifully renovated and easily one of my favourite buildings in Perth. The suburb is under rated for its history and iconic surroundings. We've booked the top floor for our wedding in March as it was such an easy decision for us and the pricing was pretty good too. We've never had a bad meal, and can never pass on their cheese burger spring rolls. Yummy!
V.
Probably one of the best looking pubs in WA and potentially Australia. Great vibe, great food and ripper beers. I smashed one of the greatest chicken schnittys that I have ever feasted on. IT was perfect. That alongside a couple pints, I had a ripper time here. Slightly out of the way, however worth the trip!
J. F.
Decent beer selection, great food. Friendly staff.
A. B.
We were initially disappointed with the long wait times which resulted in our group getting their meals at long intervals. After speaking to the floor manager we were pleasantly surprised by her efficiency and consideration. Food was very tasty pub grub with a good selection of smoked BBQ platters. Will be back again.
P.
Food was Delicious. Big downside - We sat inside being a very hot day. Didn't enjoy our dining experience because of the flies. We were told that the doors were open and it was summer and we have to expect flies. Was basically told to just eat our food and put up with the flies. Really???. Other venues use fly traps etc in discreet places. Won't be going again for a long time.
A. W.
My first time here since the total revamp. From the first step inside we were greated with a warm friendly smile. Service enthusiastic. We only had chips and wine. Good choice. Menu looked awesome. Whole architectural design brilliant. Well done
C. E.
Cool place. Nice vibe. Good beer and delicious food. Wouldn't hurt to have more variety on the menu. It's a bit pricey so daily specials would be a good idea to help reach a larger market.
R. R.
Easy parking, close to public transport. Good service. I wish they did wedges, or Sweet potato wedges. There's live music, but it wasn't balanced and was UP WAY TOO LOUD which COULD have been avoided.
There's outside courtyard areas and inside dining....prices are alright but could've been a little lower. Toilets are clean and whole building has had a refurb from tragically burning down some years ago.
It has a Queens Pub feel, like in Mount Lawley. I recommend the Guildford for parties or social gatherings.
Wheel chair accessible.
No children's playground but they do occasionally have colouring in books for the kids.
My advice? For large groups....
Book and reserve an area in advance. Enjoy.
P.S. I recommend the PaleAle XPA.
AND thanks boss, for the sweet chili sauce.(as a special favour to go with my hot chippies.) I look forward to purchasing wedges sometime soon.:D thanks for having us all.
J. H.
The venue is nice, food is a bit pricey and if you want a meal that is anywhere near balanced I'd suggest going elsewhere. I would have liked to be able to get a few veggies with a meal but there just weren't a lot of options.
R. D.
The Guildford hotel is a fine establishment. After a devastating fire gutted the building in late 90s the building underwent a major renovation. It's now a classy venue with a sensational menu and wonderful atmosphere. Well worth a visit.
L. P.
Good vibe great food and service.
T. Y. (.
Great place for dinner drinks. Love this place.
L. D.
Bit disappointed with the food here. There is always so much talk about the Guildford Hotel and has always been so much hype around the building history and the rebuild. Im so glad the owners went ahead with the works and what a fantastic job they have done! It looks fantastic. Unfortunately, that comes with high expectations. The food was nice but no greater then any pub grub and at that average pub grub. Their is plenty of competition in Guildford and the Guildford hotel just misses the mark with food. Would love to return because as said the renovation works are beautiful and will definitely try the food again.
C. J.
We booked for Christmas lunch over the phone and were told by the booking staff there would be a Christmas kids menu; on arrival we found out this was not the case!
After speaking with the manager who appogised profusely for the mix-up, we were offered a refund.
Amazing customer service by Katie, well done! 10/10, we will be back.
H. G.
I originally booked The Rose and Crown for my 24th Birthday. When our bus pulled up, the owner rudely requested us to get back on the bus immediately and leave. This was our first destination so we were not intoxicated and other patrons commented that they couldn’t believe we’d been treated with such animosity as we appeared to be a friendly group. Our bus driver drove down the road and spoke to the staff at The Guildford Hotel and they were more than welcoming. I will be recommending them to anyone who wants an enjoyable afternoon with fast, cheerful staff who clearly want their patrons to return. Thank you for helping me celebrate a wonderful Birthday.
M. C.
Friendly staff. Fair amount of customer parking. Decent beer prices.
Refurbished Guildford Hotel is very swish while retaining some of the heritage charm. Good selection of beers and price of beer is about the same as other pubs in the area. Loses a star for not-particularly-amazing food options.
E. P.
Great location, very busy, really close to a train. Historic location and building has a great history.
E. R.
Love watching the world go by down below, as your having a nice cold drink
N. G.
Awesome restoration. Loads of heritage and character. Atmosphere is great. Could do with some cooler shaded outdoor spaces. Loads of umbrellas but not enough to shade entire tables. Misting sprayers were a great touch!
Food was good but a bit pricey for what you get.
U. L.
Lovely thoughtful renovation of this landmark Guildford building. Historical references all around. I love the nooks and crannies upstairs where you can find your own personal and more private corner or balcony spot. Foods pub food and generous - cant complain. Have enjoyed a few meals here. Prefer off peak times when its not so hectic.
A. L.
Food was really nice, much better than I expected. Impressed with the renovation they've done too. My only criticism is you can't stagger your food order so everything comes out to you at once including dessert if you ordered it which is impractical when it includes icecream. We therefore just ordered mains but when we finished, the line to order was too long for us to bother with getting desert.
j. h.
Best feed i have had in a long time and beautiful service
J.
Very nice food and great friendly customer service will definitely go back
C. P.
Highly recommended for the fantastic refurbishment. The architecture is terrific, I won't spoil the surprise!
Not too noisy, lots of cosy corners or standard pub seating. I went on a Sunday and glad I got there early as was recommended... By 12pm there was hardly a spare seat anywhere. This might just one of the best pub experiences I've had in years. Definitely worth the trip and would be a great place to take visitors.
PS. Their Bloody Mary's looked amazing.
H. D.
Nice local old Pub in Guildford. Lovingly restored and a good place to meet and have a drink or two. Meals are clearly marked and the staff are ok with Gluten free knowledge.
B. D.
A heritage building once engulfed in fire and almost gone. Now she's been resurrected as a restaurant with a rustic, almost hipster feel. I took my wife for dinner here on Valentine's day and I'll tell you what, I was blown away.
The building has been rebuilt but old burned out sections have been reinforced and left to remind us of the history of this place.
The staff were accommodating, the food was good, and the alcohol was great. Good experience all up and would definitely return
J. D.
They've done a pretty good job at restoring this place. Haven't tried a full meal here but have had the appetisers and they're pretty reasonable. If you visit of a Friday or Saturday night, music's okay (pretty much as the same as any other pub in Perth) and they have a good selection of drinks. Highly recommend their cocktail list, they're delicious!
A. B.
Only one thing I like here but they do it well. Vegan burger is edible. My meat loving friends love this place
B. C.
Great history, great service and great meal
P. B.
Luncheon: Nice friendly service, good sized and tasty portions @ a reasonable price😛will call again.
E. G.
Great food, lovely venue. Love the way the remnants of the old building have been worked into the new, and the little plaques/cards dotted around the place that tell you about it. Food is a bit pricey but not eye-wateringly so.
A.
The ease of table ordering app was great.
Pay with Paypal no registration or card details to share excellent method.
Oh the beer was cold and the food was tops.
R. C.
Was fortunate to get an invite to the staff training night and what a treat. Where do I start, the actual pub itself spectacular, brilliantly finished off inside and out with so many features so great to see the Grand old pub open again. It is certainly the heart and sole of Guildford and deserved to be resurrected and how good does it look. With respect to the food and service both excellent. The staff handled the capacity crowd with efficiency and pleasantry, congratulations to the team. Fantastic experience and something so different to normal PERTH pubs.
D. C.
Great waitress and service. Good system of being able to order food from an app. Haloumi burger was disappointing and bland but other food nice.
d. s.
Good pub, good selection of tap beers also. Standard pub food, the atmosphere is good and a nice out door area. The only thing is one of the regulars is a bit of a weirdo I'd say keep your distance from him.
E.
What an amazing place. Loved to see the renovations and the creative architecture post-fire. Great for catching up with friends!
C. L.
Lovely service, and the Brisket is amazing!
W. H.
Interesting food and good service but high price for a meal you won't be used to. Still a good place to try if you haven't been before
D. 3.
Loved the renovation such a wonderful setting, great customer service, plenty of high chairs and baby changing available, great selection of drinks however we were really disappointed and surprised in the quality of the food. There's so much competition out there I really think they should hire a good chef. Fish and chips - fish batter was thick and over done and the fish looked like it had been frozen. Lamb ribs weren't cooked long enough and served with white sandwich bread and the burger had processed cheese slices! We wouldn't go back for lunch but would definitely call in for a drink.
A. D.
Possibly the best schnitzel I have ever eaten! Would be good if all food was served on plates and not on random things. Really nice place to come with family, make sure you walk around upstairs!
S. M.
Fantastic renovation, has given life to a beautiful appointed iconic building in Guildford. The decor is on point, there is a very welcoming ambience.
Staff extremely friendly and professional.
Well done Guilford Pub.
A. R.
There were flies all over our table inside. It was pretty gross. Hopefully a one off. Great food and staff were lovely.
M. G.
This is a beautifully renovated pub which clearly has a great historic connection for the locals. However I went there to eat food, and not to admire architecture. we ordered 3 burgers and a salad. unfortunately the high prices, small burger size and cheap bread which was on par with Coles/McDonalds, really let down the burgers which were actually very tasty. the meats were very nice, but finished in a couple of bites, did I get a full burger ? the massive serving of cheap fries were no consolation either. The pumpkin salad was good, but then for $23, if they messed that up, you would wonder why they are in business. I don't think I will be returning in a hurry.
T. V. C.
The workers and food are amazing , atmosphere is a vibe
V. W.
I need to update this as I have discussed with management and was very impressed with their timely and generous response, would love the opportunity to visit again.
T. D.
A beautifully restored heritage building with remnants of fire damaged beams jutting out overhead. Excellent food (big serves) and delicious cocktails. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Guildford next.
B. F.
Lively place for a meal with lots of history posted on one wall of the hotel.
Band playing popular music whilst you have your meal. Great selection of beers to choose from.
S. B.
The renovated building is STUNNING. Love how they've preserved and highlighted the historic elements then added modern, fresh colours and lighting. The smoked meat was delicious and staff super friendly. Quick service. A bit hot upstairs but not too bad. Croquettes a must-have!!!
A. M.
I love the rustic appearance inside the restored building. The outside section is also very nice. There is a good selection of beers and food on offer.
C. H.
Lovely spot to have a drink or a meal
K. B.
Guildford Hotel is beautifully decorated and a fun location for a few drinks. But the food is just not up to par. Being an American at a place serving American style food - I was not impressed. Chicken was served cold. Salmon tacos were overpriced for the portion on each taco. Corn tortillas were not heated, so they were breaking while eating. Despite being disappointed by most of the food I will say, the mac and cheese was delicious. May come again for only a drink, good atmosphere.
G. K.
Love this place. Can get pretty busy which is testimony to its good vibe and menu.
Busier and louder on Friday + Weekend nights - perhaps wait for a lunch time slot if you’re looking for a quieter get together.
Architecturally the refurb/retrofit after the fire is gorgeous and even worth a walk though to check it out.
A. C.
After the renovations this place is amazing. They kept some of the old structure and have made an amazing show piece of the building. The food is incredible!!! You have to try the cheeseburger spring rolls. Will be back.
C. M.
Fantastic atmosphere, great food and a nice selection of beers available...perfect for a casual meal or a celebration with friends, will keep coming back for more!
S. E.
Food and drinks were excellent. Used the half price 5 - 6 pm offer. Took a little effort to work out the phone app to order
D. M.
The food do delicious. Had platters for my nieces 40th Birthday. Can I just say that the staff were amazing. So helpfull a always a smile on their faces and hapy
J. B.
Very good service and lovely choice on the menu. Great atmosphere and I love the way they have kept the historic features of the original hotel.
j. o.
So much care taken to refurbish, it's stunning. The food and service was excellent. Will be back.
c. s.
Great to see it up and running again, great meals and great service. Will definitely come again
D. P.
Wow, what a great pub. It doesn't smell of stale beer. No afro, young crowd.
Great drinks, stylish decor and worthy of a visit. This pub burn down some time ago and they have echoes of the fire in it's decor.
A credit to the interior designers and owners
T. P.
Lovely atmosphere in the beer garden. Love music on a Friday, great way to wind down after work.
J. D.
Great Food, Great Service, Would highly recommend. Innovative ordering method was a breath of fresh air. Able to use Paypal and order straight to table. Going again for sure.
C. B.
Fabulous atmosphere and menu for a Friday lunch with friends. Excellent service from friendly staff. Big shout out to Ta and Tania especially 👍
B.
Friendly staff and amazing service. Great atmosphere as well for a Friday night. Not too noisy or crowded
a. d. M.
A beautiful place where history meets modern times. The historical history of the Guildford keeps visitors entertain with the hidden treasures of the place. Walk through and follow the timeline as you enjoy the food and the incredible staff that are always friendly and helpful .
C. M.
Had late lunch with friends. Interior is beautiful and lots of space. Staff are really helpful, locating a table for us upstairs and guided us to lifts so our friends could get their pram up. Bao buns were yummy and lamb ribs were nice. If you are ordering separately but on same table number, please let them know to serve it altogether otherwise some of you may have already finished your meal by the time the others are served. For beers, our friend had to go downstairs to get his but there's a bar upstairs. Parking is at the back but limited. Only two rows are on sealed road but remaining on unsealed and not level grounds so there's a lot of dips into muddy water. Try to get street parking if you don't like tight spaces.
G. W.
What a change. Not only have the renovations kept with the charm of the Old Guildford, they have managed to update this place to a pub that is not the run-of-the-mill glass and steel.
Staff are well trained and friendly, there is a bit of a wait for food but what can you expect when it is a great place for lunch or dinner.
It has been worth the wait for the Guildford to be restored and revamped to something that makes it stand out from all of the other renewals of pubs in Perth.
All of the seating niches and outdoor areas have made for a brilliant drinking and dining experience that I recommend to all those who haven't tried it.
I will be back again and again
S. P.
The place looks great, I love that they tried to keep as most of the original features and the old door and window frames look amazing. It has an industrial look with a moden feel. With the retractable roof open on beautiful days while still feeling warm in winter and cool in summer.
With more choices of beers on tap and a good wine list it is a nice place to relax.
It's very family friendly and the kids will enjoy looking for there next meal through a view master.
Nice to see guildford heritage back to life.
A. v. B.
We had our work Christmas party here in The Vaudeville Room. It was an excellent space, the staff were magnificent, the food inventive (cheeseburger spring rolls wow!) and we had a great celebration.
f. t.
Went back for the cheeseburger as I really enjoyed the meaty flavour of the patty. This time it was drowned in Big Mac sauce and chips where kinda average, oil needs changing.
Still like the building, although it is quite warm in there during summer.
If it's not a pint, you probably shouldn't call it a pint, just a thought.
t. d.
Bit overpriced for just a normal meal. I'm sorry but I won't be returning, $14 glass of wine or $48 a bottle. I wasn't really impressed with the meal and the sests were so hard. I ended up standing up. 😤😤
J. W.
Loved its new look! Very happy that they incorporated the "burnt" look into its new facelift (or should I say face reconstruction).
The food is pricy but that is the norm establishments like this and the quality is consistent with this too. It is a bar so bar food is what you get.
Pretty much busy all the time which is the only downside because even if you can find a table it's usually dirty or has stuff on it - and staff are busy as expected!
