As vegan, I would prefer greater variety of vegan options. Had a serve of Nachos - very disappointed. Maybe non-vegan option is delicious, but vegan one was blend. No flavour at all. Staff was friendly, though. Nice place to hang out, but please, bring more vegan options 🥙🧆🌮💚

Perfect stop for drinks and a great feed overlooking the water and South Perth. Great vibe with plenty of beers on tap & a pretty good food selection on offer. Outdoor deck on the water is the popular location but you can also dine inside if you wish.

Had a steak sandwich which was yum except for the relish that was bitter. Place has a lovely vibe and nice river view. Was a little disappointed when we saw a cockroach 🪳 on the wall. But overall it's a good joint.

Great Riverside pub that overlooks the Swan River. There's an upstairs bar for better river views and more lounging seats. Really good selection of beers an other beverages as well as some really decent food! Some of the new buildings are obstructing the views of the foreshore unfortunately, however most of the beauty of the Swan and picturesque South shore can still be observed and enjoyed.

A great spot for a catch up in the city. Had a few beers and a meal. The meals are quite good for a pub meal, had some good local musicians playing done music. Good service at the bar, empty glasses removed quickly, food didn't take too long. Added bonus we got to see dolphins swimming about 20 metres from our table! Would definately return.

Over the years I have organised dozens of social club gatherings and the like, big and small. I've never had a bad night here. Food is great, everything is reasonably priced and always friendly staff and enough of them too. Go in confidence, this is a great spot, central easy to get to via public transport. Too easy :)

Not bad, beautiful spot and the food was quite good for pub grub. One of the bar staff was a little surly and disinterested (monday-itis maybe), when I asked a question and the table we sat at was beer-sticky and didn't get wiped, so that's reason for reduced stars. Otherwise, we will still return, but not our no.1 choice.

Beautiful bar / restaurant at Elizabeth Quay, Perth with fantastic views over the Swan River towards South Perth. Ideal for eating outdoors on the terrace with a more than acceptable menu with a variety of plates on offer. If all you want is a nice cold beer this is a neat spot. Highly recommended.

I came here for a Sunday lunch with my family. The food was typical pub pricing with main meals hovering between $20-$30. The presentation was lovely but the food was a little disappointing. It tastes alright but everything was just a bit bland. Although the dishes could do with more flavour, the portion sizes were decent and they had a good selection of beers.

Great place to meet up, we were there for the football so Leeds United had pretty much taken over the place. Awesome atmosphere. Drinks were good, nice and cold. We ordered pizza and a bag of chips, the bag was massive and they were tasty. They have daily offers on food and drink too. It's in a lovely location with a large outdoor area, with heaters for night time.

I have been going here for years and the service here has been a mixed bag. And like the other reviewers suggested, the security is very strict and treat the place like a night club even during the day. Now with all the new options at Elizabeth Quay there is less and less of a reason to end up at the Lucky Shag.

Love the Shag - plus they've got Furphy on tap for the Geelong crowd now. Great place to catch a sunset or a cold one when you're wandering Elizabeth Quay. The rooftop bar is good value and you've got a view of the Bell Tower. Staff is quick.

Nice place for beers and a harbour atmosphere. The beers on tap are mostly local and of good veriety. 22 dollars for 2 pints is a tad on the expensive side, but giving the location is probably just about worth it. I would reccommend the second floor 'rooftop' as there are sofas which are great for afterwork groups.

Great Bar, Fantastic Atmosphere, Awesome Location. Everytime we have been the staff are friendly and very helpfull. Right beside the great Swan River you get to see the awesome sunsets over Kings Park, as the cool breeze passes through. They still have live bands here too which is great. Way better than the IPAD DJ most places use The only set back, getting an icy cold beverage served at the bar is Sloooooow and sometimes painful if your thirsty....

Went here for dinner seafood tonight. The seafood plate was delicious. Staff were really friendly and live music was great. It was quite rowdy but being a Sunday night you would expect it to be busy. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lively place to be on the weekend.

I went to this venue today hoping for a great day out. The weather was great the atmosphere was great the music was soothing, untill I went the bar to order my food. It was at this point that the whole experience went south. I was confronted by this very arrogant barmaid, who said "Whad're ya after", like I was try ing to snare a fox. I was horrified by this seemingly low level of customer service and so I immediately stated that it might be more appropriate to say "Hi, how can I help you, which after a couple of seconds delay she did. I told her what I wanted to order and she just stared at me. After a couple more seconds she delay she then said, "OK". It was almost like she wasn't going to give in. Anyway suffice to say I won't go back there until management gets it act together and trains their staff in customer service. John

Love this place. If I have any catch ups in the city I always come here. Chance to see Dolphins, great live music and a large selection of beers, gin and wine. Roof top bar in the summer is lovely too. Good food menu, has WiFi and friendly staff.

Basic meals (pubs) but tasty. Great drinks, busy ambiance and amazing views. The problem I always find at this place is that the music is extremely loud. It wouldn't matter if it was an open air place but given the umbrellas are thick and strong, the noise and music stays with you and to have a chat you need to scream. This is tiring and you just want to leave soon.

Never able to find a seat, always reserved section even when reservation is not until much later on they still have it closed off further compounding the issue. Besides that it's a nice place in a good spot, quite popular.

The Lucky Shag was a great place to go for a Thursday lunch. There $15 chilli mussels and glass of wine, was amazing! The mussels were cooked to perfection, and the sauce was yummy. Will definitely be going back for more! The venue is a great spot on the river, and even though it's mainly outdoors, there are heaters everywhere, so your never feeling cold. Great service and choice of food and drinks.

Great pub awesome staff,but wayyyyy too expensive. In fact I would go as far as to its a complete rip off....$14 for a can of Guiness thats $240 profit from a single carton...$13 for a pint....That should be illegal, craft beer costs me $1 per bottle to make at home including the glass bottle...you do the math

Lovely spot for a few drinks. The staff weren't that friendly, ordered a non alcoholic beer on the rooftop and was told to go down stairs as they didn't have any. I don't mind if it was busy and was under pressure but it was quiet enough with only a few people around. The food was amazing tho :)

Awesome location right on the river. If you're lucky enough to own your own boat then you can enjoy the pleasure of pulling up right on the jetty. The food is fantastic and the staff are always very friendly. If you plan on heading into the city later then this is a great place to start as it's a short walk away and usually not as busy as some other places. It can be a little pricey but otherwise great.

Public transport by bus and ferry very convenient and it's a 5 minute walk to the city centre

Got to be one of the best located bars in the city. Right on the river with beautiful unobstructed views. Definitely recommended! The food can be hit and miss, but the last few times I’ve been here it's improved dramatically. Drinks are on the pricey side which is not great, but service is quick. The place also gets packed, which is good and bad, but can mean you need to wait for a seat.

Nice place, but the bar staff are very keen to cut people off without a decent reason. We'd come off one of the wine tours and we're still pretty sober compared to some of the others they were serving. One of our group still had the wine tour sticker on their chest so if you have been on one, don't keep it on or mention it otherwise it'll be one pint and you're done.

Was recommended this place by a fellow pom before my trip. Really delivers on views. The food and drinks cost a fair bit but both are good (worth the premium for the location). Really cool atmosphere, surprised it wasn't full on a Friday evening when I went there, but it was 22°C which is cold by WA standards it seems.

Unmatched view of the Swan River on a nice day. The Lucky Shag has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. For hot days there are plenty of umbrellas and misters. If the weather is cold they have heaps of heating as well. The food is always cooked very well and the is a great range of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. The staff are always friendly and helpful. A regular on our places to eat out.

Good food, great service and great scenery. Lately there has been construction nearby which has kinda taken away from the atmosphere. But the impact has been reasonably minimal all things considered. A modern menu with some old favourites added in and a good selection of drinks always makes for an enjoyable time. The Lucky Shag is pretty much a must do for Perth.

Great view of the river. If you're anywhere near the CBD, bell tower or south Perth it's very easy to get to, it's even within walking distance! Decent selection of beer on tap, but lots of wines, etc available as well. Kept well clean, and the recent developments around the bell tower mean that the area is about to get even better. All round great bar, but definitely better in summer because it's so open, and with the breeze off the river it can get cold in winter.

We went with kids. Downstairs was packed, so we went upstairs. It was quite nice in there, busy, but still calm, and it had a nice atmosphere. They had some UNO game and we spent a lovely afternoon chatting while playing with kids. Was great to be able to go out and have some fun with the kids on board.

Waterfront views, good music and great vibes ooze from this Elizabeth Quay pub. The venue is undecided in what it is trying to achieve, is it a pub, is it a upmarket restaurant or does it want to be a club? There is a good range of drinks available although they don't come cheap ($12+ a beer) and coupled with an above average menu it won't be a cheap visit to the lucky shag. Additionally over the festive period prepare to queue to enter as security take it upon themselves to run a "papers please" style door service run with an equally Russian level of greeting (a grunt and a nod). That said, there's not many other venues with a location like this in Perth.

The Lucky Shag is a very popular Riverside Restaurant/bar for tourists and locals alike... it's got an easy going outdoors vibe.. a bit like Cicerello's in Freo, but located at the Barrack Street end of Perth, next to Elizabeth Quay.... You have got to be fairly quick to get a seat outside near to the river from lunch time onwards, especially on a Friday( unless you book?)... But it is well worth it to spend a few hours, enjoying the sunshine with some local brew, and some decent bar grub.... Enjoyed by blue and white collar workers alike... it's a Perth institution!!☺

Excellent food and beers. Went on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the live music on the terrace. Lovely views over the swan river. Had chilli mussels, barramundi in coconut curry sauce and a bag of chips. Mussel sauce was one of the best I have ever tried, smokey tomato with plenty of chilli. Barramundi was perfectly crispy on top and moist flesh with a lovely balanced sauce. Skin on crispy chips were very good Only negative point was the garlic bread with the mussels as it tasted way too oily. Great selection of beers, good wine recommendation by the bar staff.

The food was great, it had a great atmosphere, the staff were very kind, but the food is too expensive, the meal of THREE THINGS that my family had cost around $70, although in the end the food was great, but the service is very slow, it took about 40 MINS for us to get our food. Also the construction site next door is SUPER loud when you’re trying to speak with someone, especially on the phone, I kept getting little bits of dirt and rock in my food and in my hair... better coverage of the area would be nice in those conditions.

As a visitor to Perth this pub was a great find. The lucky shag sits on the Swan River albeit with a hotel or unit development being built right beside it.
