A Manly institution. Knew of this place before I came to Sydney, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Prices a bit steep but quality exceeds majority of offerings by craft brewery pubs springing up everywhere.

Probably the best venue in Manly. Bookings still time-limited so get ready to be told to leave. The handpull beer is usually excellent but it occasionally comes with a head that would cause a riot in other countries. Good vibe. Will of course be back.

Back on Saturday, 23 October 2010, this was arguably the coolest pub in Sydney. Serving artisan beers and good pub grub. I visited this tucked away bar for a Uma's birthday, the girlfriend of a friend. We did get merry and may have slept for the duration of the Manly -> Darling Harbour crossing.

The best pub on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Why? The honesty and genuine quality. It comes through in the the ambience, the music, the genuine staff with just right casual service, the community who use the venue, the fresh quality brewed beer, innovative products and specials. You know this is an excellent pub because you feel it, you will relax and feel fortunate to be there. The food is especially good and puts 4 pines ahead of the rest, simplicity yet unrelenting quality. 4 Pines is a prime example of the Eastern Suburbs vs. Northern Beaches debate. The Northern Beaches wins with 4 Pines. The menu, beers and staff are still going stronger than ever.

2021Edit Below. 2019: We ate downstairs in the Keller door. Great location, semi outdoor eating, smoke free and child friendly. Staff go above and beyond, delicious food, clean toilets. Ordered the Chook burger it was delicious and not greasy. Also got the pig it was great. Highly recommended. Would return. Edited to add: Continuing to return in 2021, still reccomended. Great beer and and food at the Brew Pub! The balcony is shaded and comfortable and the food came out quite quickly. The cheese burger was tasty and the fish and chips were good too. My mum found the bang bang chicken tacos extremely spicy. Overall a nice place for a casual bite to eat, would love to try more beers!

We enjoyed our meal & beers at 4 Pines Brewhouse Manly on Wed 4 May 2022. The $25 rib chicken combo meal with a pint is great value with a chicken maryland. The barramundi salad was yummy too. And we always love the $6 pints & wings during happy hour ! One of my husband's favourite beers - Pale Ale ! ;-)

My friend had a Mule cocktail and I enjoyed the Schwarzer, a beer I hadn't sampled before but which was a nice alternative to the Nitro Stout. I think it is very safe to say, we will be back!

Met up with a friend from Japan that we hadn't seen for 28 years, who has spent most of her life living in the North Sydney beach area. Her recommendation for lunch for the family group of us was 4 Pines Brew Pub. It's very close to the Manly ferry terminal, which is pretty handy. Walk upstairs and you have a pretty big area for dining and drinking. It was fairly busy, and the only place we can find to seat our group of 8 is a little balcony that has bar stools around the perimeter, and affords a pretty view of the street below, and parts of the harbour beyond. Their homemade brews are tasty, and cover a good variety of tastes. Between us, we tried about 3 varieties, and the flavours were quite distinctive. From a menu that included most the bar and nitro classics, we chose spiced wings and fries, a barramundi fish burger and beer battered dory and chips, and they all went down a treat. The bar staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. No problems with recommending this place for a meal, drink or better still - both!

Awesome beer and food at both their brewpub (upstairs) and Keller Door (downstairs) locations in Manly. We finally made it to Burger Fight Club (Tues night's at the Keller Door location) and had a blast. Great tunes and amazing burgers. And a great deal at only $25 for one of the 2 competing burgers along w/ fries and a pint of your choice.

Staff are friendly and service is very good. Prices are also reasonable as they have different specials each day such as Sunday Roast. I would say one of the places worth a visit when in Manly.

I had excellent Veggie Taco with pumpkin 🎃 and black beans. We went for my son’s birthday and because of COVID we couldn’t have cake 🎂. Food came very quick and everyone enjoyed the food. My son’s bread was pink because of cancer awareness which was nice.🙏🏻 Just you need to know the menu downstairs and upstairs are different. 4 pines Newport is more straightforward if you are not regular visitor.

It’s impossible to exaggerate the excellence of key staff like Will and Phoebe who elevate hospitality to a level impossible to attain unless it’s genuine, and which keeps regulars coming back. This is an excellent venue with a lively atmosphere, and the dog-friendly attitude with outside tables is a big plus. Oh, and yes the beer is great too 😊

Great quality craft brews with lots of different styles (not just a bunch of IPAs and a stout thrown in for interest! ;). Quality of the food was really stellar as well. Got the fish burger and the salt and pepper squid, which was perfectly cooked (not overcooked at all), but the seasoning was a little hit and miss -- some pieces were perfect, some were overly salted). The fish burger was huge and was also perfectly cooked (though it came with a very large slice of bacon, which I personally didn't think really went with the rest of the flavors of the burger, but still a good sandwich). And the chips were crispy on the outside, well seasoned and fresh. Highly recommend!

What a discovery, a microbrewery opposite the beach, A short jump off the ferry from Circular Quay is this awesome microbrewery, with balcony seating overlooking the water is a great place to down some ale's whilst watching the world go by...

Upstairs has nice selection of general beers and pub snacks. Decent views over the balcony if you're lucky enough. Keller door is super chilled, easy to hear your mates (I'm old) and much better selection of beers and snacks (and dog friendly too!). Re. Upstairs, I'm not sure they read the booking/special notes from online reservations because I've twice booked well in advance (fortnight), asked for balcony views for a special occasion and have twice been placed by the kitchen at the back..... When asked if we can move staff say they're already reserved 🤷🏻‍♂️

Very good food and drinks at Keller Door! However, I would like to point out our disappointment. I called to this place a few days before our booking date to confirm that we would have wheat beers available. Someone who answered the phone said that absolutely yes at the Keller Door (downstairs). So I booked a table just because of that. But when ordering it at that day, there was no wheat beers at all. So why do you still keep it in your menu?

A lovely tasting and delicious meal spoilt by an entitled manager. We arrived and all ordered some beers (which are delicious) and one of our party doesn’t drink beer and ordered a bottle of Prosecco as we planned to stay for the entire 1.5 hour allocation. Someone who seemed like manager came over about 10 minutes later saying that they wouldn’t normally serve a bottle to one person and if it was gone within 30 minutes we’d be having another conversation. I get it, but language and execution was terrible. It soured our experience, and whilst we get the veiled threat could of gone down better, I’d go back because this really is a great place. Food for thought for management.

It was the 4 of us adults with our 2 toddlers visiting the much reputable 4 Pines Brewpub & Keller door for the first time on a lazy November summer evening, only to get thrilled by the astounding views of the Manly storefront, exceptional quality of craft beers, sumptuous food & a great array of friendly, knowledgeable & accomodating staff...nothing felt too hard or too much trouble...special shout out to Phebe (yes, without the “o”, I confirmed)...who was the ever smiling, ever incredibly helpful staff member at the entry of the brewpub upstairs... assisting us all throughout our evening...the place is lucky to have you in their team! (you would remember me - the Mo Bro) :). Thank you 4 Pines. We would most certainly refer others and visit again ourselves!

4 stars for 4 pines! Great selection of beers, good food. The downside is the atmosphere, seating and service. There are more than 5 seats that can accommodate 8 people. This leaves multiple couples sharing tables because there aren't enough tables for each group. With the tasting boards, the service is slow and lines back up because each item needs to be poured and explained. If it's a slow day, definitely go, if it looks busy, consider passing it up.

This is a great local success story. And it deserves to be. It has a great relaxed vibe - the beers are excellent and the food though on the expensive side is first rate. A wonderful place to catch up with a friend or two. It is extremely popular and there is a reason why. Leaves the Manly Wharf for dead in my view.

Best pub in Manly by a country mile. The fine range of their standard tap beers is backed up by a constantly changing specials, also all on tap. If you're like the guy who gave the Pines a poor review here because he didn't like the taste of craft beers, preferring instead his "commercial lagers", then no, this is not the place is you. You can't get VB, Carlton or Tooheys here. But if you want to drink chilled horse piss, then there's plenty of other places in Manly you can do that. Staff are friendly and efficient; you rarely have to wait long to get served, unless it's really busy. Best of all (and UK visitors, in particular, will appreciate this), they actually fill the pints to the top!!! They don't rip you off with an inch of head like how it's served in many other Sydney pubs. The food is standard pub grub, but it's done well. The fish & chips can be a bit fishy sometimes, but the Mega-burger is always good (and big!). The pulled pork burgers are also a favourite. My only complaint is that the Pines is a victim of its own excellence, so it's hard to find a time when it's not jammed to the rafters!

I'm not an IPA person, but surprisingly pleasing. The best I've tasted, but any tap brew we ordered here was quite tasty. The hefweisen was crisp and my fave. This is not the place for a cheap, fill up. Portions were just right to not need takeaway boxes. Casual atmosphere from sandy beach travelers to going out attire. Best bar in Manly. I pay regular visits to them to check the new Keller Door editions and also to keep drinking more of the same, as their always-on-tap beer are awesome. From the regular beers, my favorite one is the Kolsch. But to be honest I do not recall having a bad beer here. Usually I come at evenings for the beers, but once I had lunch too. Might be a bit overpriced, but that's Manly, right? I did enjoy my salad and didn't think it was actually expensive for a weekend's lunch.

Staff are friendly, the only downside it is can sometimes be a struggle to get a seat.

Great craft beer and beer food. You can get a tasting rack to try 5 different beer at $17. All 5 of their core beer have unique flavour that's worth trying. My favourite was their 'hefeweizen', that is beautifully creamy in German way, whilst not missing out on fruity aroma. In terms of food, we've had poutine and pizza, and both complemented the beers well. Has a balcony looking out to manly wharf that's nice to sit in. Staff were very friendly and were willing to explain all of their beer to us.

Wednesday night is $25 Ribs and Pints night, a favourite with the locals. We were not disappointed with the expansive plate filled with steakhouse chips and topped with their signature ribs and house made BBQ sauce. Remember to get there early on the weekends as it fills up quickly!

This is Manly's local watering hole and they do damn fine job of it. This place is usually packed on week nights as well and has a mix of after work local as well as tourist crowd. Love their Kolsch beer, it is freshly brewed and they usually have 4-5 types on offer. They also keep coming out with specials and their latest offering is a breakfast beer! The food is good ..better than your average pub fare and do a pretty neat chicken schnitzel. You can even find a athletes menu with salads and stuff. The service is friendly and the vibe relaxed. Come here to chill for an afternoon beer or wind down after a busy day.

The brewery itself is located on the waterfront in Manly behind all the pine trees (Oooh, got it). The balcony has a beautiful view! I'm not number one fan of their beer, but a sunny afternoon trip to the brewhouse and a few pints on the balcony certainly scored them brownie points!

4 Pines in Manly has the best sticky date pudding I have ever had the privilege of consuming. My sticky date eating experiences will forever feel empty after the extraordinary Sticky date pudding with ESB butter scotch sauce. Their stout affogato is also a wonderfully unique dessert. In general 4 Pines is my favourite pub to visit in Manly being laid back and not so large that it becomes unbearably loud during the busy periods. The food is generally excellent as well (not just the beer inspired dessert). Only downside is that it is one of the more expensive places to visit in Manly. It is always a welcome treat, however, every once in a while.

I live in Manly and dine out 4-5 times a week in Manly and 4 Pines offers without question, the most delicious and best quality food in Manly and is at the top of my Sydney Gastro Pub list. I have tasted nearly every item on the menu and if it weren't for the casual surroundings and casual dining experience; when the food arrives and you savour it, you'd be hard pressed to differentiate the incredible culinary flavours with that of some of the best restaurants in Sydney. The fish of the day (Barramundi last time) makes your mouth buzz with excitement, the curry of the day always tastes amazing but without a doubt the pièce de résistance is their eye fillet steak. If you're a steak lover, you'd be hard pressed to find a better cut and tasting steak in Sydney - it is absolutely, positively incredible. I've been to some of the best steak houses in Sydney such as The Cut, Woolfies, Kingsleys, Meat & Wine, Rockpool and the Eye Fillet at 4 Pines is better than these in every respect. Sure, 4 Pines doesn't have the alluring views as some of their competitors in Manly but their amazing food, wonderful beers and friendly service make 4 Pines my favourite dining experience in Manly.

The Bouddi coast walk on a hot and humid day worked up a well earned feed. The chilli mussels here put other pubs serving 'mussels' in the CBD to shame. Served in a bowl rather than a pot with crusty bread to soak up the hot chilli herb sauce. Perfect with a schooner of the house brew on tap. Even on a Sunday evening it gets busy. Enough said.
