A. T. F. v. M.We stopped there for morning coffee and cake (dessert really) and it was delicious with generous serves. I had a Chai Latte others had coffee however they were a little on the cool side and we like to have them really hot. Staff were warm and welcoming. Great setting on the river and shaded area to sit and relax for morning tea.
J. D.I was on a Mystery Bus tour from Ballina on a perfect day in June. After morning tea in Maclean we arrived at the Brushgrove Hotel for lunch. Our organiser had been able to order ahead as there were 40 of us and this enabled the owners to bring in extra staff. Good choice of Barramundi, Chicken Schnitzel, Steak and Burgers. The food was excellent and enjoyed by all of us. Beautiful country. We are so lucky to live in the Northern Rivers.🏞🌞
L. K.Came here a few Saturdays ago with my family for lunch. Just as I remembered it as a historical laid back old pub with many childhood memories. I ordered the vegie stack which was amazing. I was blown away. My family also ordered lunch which also was good value for money. Everything was nice and fresh and the menus were well written and easy to read. The coffee also was really good with service being quick and efficient. Credit to all the staff. I will be back as I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. You can also sit out the back and take in the beautifull Clarence River.
S. T.Dropped in for a beer. Pub is lovely, right on the river. Didnt eat but what we saw looked pretty good. A pleasant little surprise for our first time visit.
A. P.The food at the restaurant is fantastic, with generous portions and top quality ingredients. Our first meal there, most certainly not the last.
Daily specials offer good choice, and the blackboard options really compliment the regular menu.
I had Atlantic Salmon with roasted chats, cherry tomatoes, steamed greens and Salsa Verde. It was beautifully cooked and delicious. The other dish was one of the speciala, battered barramundi with chips and salad, which was really enjoyed.
Please check it out, you won't be disappointed.
J. M.Lovely old ‘local’ hotel, felt a little like stepping back in time. Dropped in for dinner - good fresh food, mine was a bit saltier than I like, perfect for my partner though. Lovely service at the bar and the locals are very nice and helpful - pointed out the locally made rocky road, they were right is was yum.

I've had plenty on my life but this one was spot on, perfect size for 2 people to share making it fantastic value and cooked to perfection and the salad was dressed well. We left nothing on the plate.

A. G.My boyfriend and I were recommended this hotel by the owner of a nearby B&B in Ulmarra. The Brushvale sits on the riverside with gorgeous views of the Clarence river, and more importantly, the food is fantastic. We were particularly impressed by the quality of the local produce, including well priced local oysters and fish, as well as the pricing and variety of the menu generally. Well worth the visit.
