Great Intimate live music venue, with an assortment of different genres throughout the week. Thanks for supporting Live Music in a city that needs it! Highly recommend 👍🏼👍🏼

Small venue, great sound, friendly staff that can make a decent Lemon,Lime,Bitters, was the old Buthers shop now a neat little bar with live bands. Will be returning :) Saw the Jesse Redwing Band :) Great blues music

A fabulous little live music bar . Ideal for entertainment when you get bored with Netflix .

$25 for an afternoon gig was a bit rich - it included a $10 bar voucher but $5 for a soda water... I sat in a very uncomfortable chair that was likely a hard rubbish throw away. There were some dedicated smokers who were outside the door every 10 minutes, so a lot of smoke came in on the breeze (I wasn't the only one who noticed). Toilets were exceptionally clean.

Quirky cool bar with relaxed friendly vibe, great service supporting local live music! Enough said ...

Great vibes and live music, small intimate venue

Fabulous inner west bar supporting local music industry with an eclectic range of acts. Warm, friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended for a fun afternoon or evening.

Cosy atmosphere and a good place for intimate live gigs.

Great intimate setting for live music. The band was great. Having fun and conversing with the audience. A friendly and happy atmosphere.

I went here for live jazz and it was a really cool bar. They do a delicious espresso martini and they had a decent selection of beer and wine. You can order in food from the surrounding restaurants and eat it here too which is very convenient.

An amazing find! Love this hole in the wall, cosy bar with good acoustics, fabulous beer on tap (batch) and friendly staff. My highlight was the world music band Sundays but I am sure other days are great too! :)

Live jazz, intimate setting, good selection of drinks. All in all, a great Friday night bar.

Never went in because I wasn't allowed without a phone to check in but I can't delete my review. The review response is hilarious and apt so I've changed from one drunken star to five coherent sparkles, good on you guys

It's small, it's cool, it's super local. And it's incredible how good the music can be. Top shelf Sydney jazz, top shelf whisky.

Great little bar. Awesome atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. Lovely to be able to order food from Manmaru next door and get it delivered to your table. $10 cover charge after 7.30 PM for the band... cheap entertainment. Highly recommend you spend a great evening here.

Second time visiting the Butcher’s Brew and couldn’t be happier that we found this hidden gem. Can’t fault the music at all, and unbelievable value for money. Great atmosphere, very accommodating staff and a more than adequate selection of wines. Had a fabulous night with the jazz band performing this evening; more than happy to go above and beyond (3 sets yippee). Legends.

Saw Linden Furnell play here and it was FANTASTIC. Cute little venue with good drinks and a selection of food from the local restaurants. 10/10 would visit again.

We had such high hopes when we found out this place was coming to Dulwich Hill.. the positives - brilliant live music, definitely worth the cover charge and a good pick on the wine list! I wish the interior design had been thought about more - the bar takes up way too much space compared to the size of the venue, the timber bench along the long side of the room doesn’t need to be two tier, it could be redesigned to take up way less space and create more walking room to help people get to the back end of the bar.. speaking of the back of the bar.. the back corner could be much better utilized by swapping the big table and large chairs for a wrap around timber bench and stools. The interior decor is mismatched but has so much potential with a bit of decluttering. I really, really want this place to succeed because as a local I’d love to come here on a Saturday afternoon and listen to great music with friends - perhaps with a rethink of the interiors this place can really shine!!

So thrilled Dully finally has cool live music. Nice decor with a crimson, aubergine palette. The band is playing "Why did you do it" by Stretch (from Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels), I have a flute of sparkling rose and I'm in bliss. They don't do food yet, so if you get the munchies, just pop next door to Manmaru and get some dumplings. Winning!
ETA: Sadly and regrettably I have changed my review from 5 to 3 stars. I returned a second time with a friend at approximately 740pm on a Tuesday night not sure how long we'd be. Got a round of drinks. The jazz band started at 8 and i got another round of drinks at the bar at approx 8:10, expecting to pay cover charge then, but wasnt charged. A couple of minutes later a lady darted to me abruptly and sharply asked for cover charge. I understand there may have been a lack of communication earlier, and didn't mind being approached but the manner with which it it was done wasn't "hospitable" in the very slightest and it means I am very unlikely to ever return, nor recommend. We stayed for one more song and left. Sad.

I attended Butcher's Brew Bar today, Saturday 11th May. I am a vocalist and was performing in a trio called Peter Head and the Soul Sista's. We do a mix of originals, and classic soul, blues and gospel music, with lots of harmony. We played from 3-6pm and a jazz group were starting at 8 until 11pm.
Butcher's Brew is a very small bar with a capacity of about 35/40 people and serve drinks only, no food. They charge a $10 entry which goes toward payment for the musicians. It's a friendly little bar and has comfortable padded chairs and tables and a clear view of the band. Today, I saw people chatting that had only just met, and singing along with some of the classics. Everyone complimented us as they left and said they thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. It is open during the week as well and presents a wide variety of music, and has a very good sound system which is clear and not loud. I highly recommend Butcher's Brew for all these reasons. You can receive their emails or messages which tell you who is performing and a little about them. Go check it out and support live music. Remember to ask when Peter Head and the Soul Sista's are playing next... 😍❤ thanks..

Great drink service, No in house food but you can order food from the Japanese restaurant 2 doors down. Love how they support local musicians which plays live.
Come in early to secure a seat, seats starts to get filled by 8pm so come earlier that 8pm.
It's a cosy place (small) yet has a nice cosy vibe and great old school cocktails to match.

Great venue with extensive, reasonably priced drink menu and cheap entertainment every night of the week. Been here many times and highly recommend to anyone who is looking for quality live music/comedy in an intimate setting with friendly staff and happy customers.

Just what the Hill needed - a funky, little music-driven bar with great accoustics, great staff and great patronage. This is the place to have your pre-dinner drinks in Dulwich Hill, or come for the bands and cocktails. Don't forget to pay the cover charge!

Good selection of wines and great jazz on a Thursday night. Just FYI they don’t serve food but the Japanese restaurant next door will happily bring a plate over, or you can take your wine next door.

Such a awesome spot to enjoy some great local talent. A really comfortable, intimate and quirky setup, great acoustics, lovely people and excellent drinks. A real inner west gem. I'll be back.
