Updates - cannot express my love more for this place. This place is a legend - their drinks are the people are. But these days I only come during weekdays otherwise it’s impossible to get a spot inside! I always order their special and never disappointed. Love Love Love. There should be more places like this. A lovely combination of vibes, either great cocktails or those amazing mezcal are best sipped while standing in this groovy place. Follow their Instagram account to check out what special things they’re mixing. Expect great conversation and a bit of story of (with graphics) of their mezcal when the place is not super busy. This has been my favourite bar since they’ve opened, it’s worth the short wait but I’ve heard they are expanding. Do check out the place if you also like whiskey bars but also like to be playful.

Love love love this tiny bar! It's always so busy so we went early a couple weeks ago on a Sunday late afternoon / early evening and got seats inside. We were newbies to Mezcal so after sampling their delicious cocktails, we asked the super friendly bartender (Ho) to give us some tips, which he obliged and more!! Such a charmed experience. We even met a couple celebrating their 50th anniversary who joined the bar for a couple of drinks. Seriously great cocktails, Mezcals and nicest bartender in Ho!

Is it ok for some Sydney hipsters to go to Mexico, search out little towns, ask for their local stash of mezcal, buy some bottled water, empty the water, and schlep the towns personal mezcal stash home? Apparently it gets you on top of the worlds best bars list. The service is great, and the cocktails work almost as well as the sipping mezcal they smuggled back.

Fantastic margaritas, however they are quite expensive and tiny. The location leaves a little to be desired; the inside bar lives up to its small bar name, however outside you're sitting next to overflowing dumpsters and need to navigate run-off water of unknown origins.

Not only for its capabilities to provide a service as remarkable as a 20 star hotel (a shout out to the most amazing server Jaz) but also to the most amazing drinks! This place just earned the honor of Best New Bar of the Year *and* Best Tequila Bar in Australia and these accolades are entirely well-deserved. Kenny & Omar really know their stuff. The place sources tequila and mezcal direct from Mexico so you know it’s legit! The place is small—max capacity couldn’t be more than 20—so be prepared to wait if you come late on a Friday. Running front of the house is Dylan(? Sorry mate if I misremembered your name) but he is a jolly fellow and will help manage orders on busy nights. All in all a great bar that I hope to become a regular at. On the drinks side, I like the Sour OK! as well as just getting shots of the house mezcal to sip. I like that they serve up lines and pineapples as complements to their drinks. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the CBD!

Gorgeously fitted out, shoebox sized bar that sells some delicious and quite rare Mezcal (Tequila), often sourced in person from the small communities and farms in Mexico where it's brewed. If you've never had the real stuff before this is a must try. The margarita made with shaved ice is absolutely delicious.

Good selection and good cocktails. Obviously it's too over crowded on a Friday after work so wasn't the most relaxing vibe. But can't wait to come back when there's a little more room and it's a little more chilled out. Was pretty surprised at the prices of the straight Mezcal. The cheapest was $30.00, which seems pretty steep. I love Mezcal and am a old school lover of whisky so I understand it can get pretty high in price. But even the standard for a decent whisky is around the $15 - $20 mark. Not to mention that I have been to plenty of bars that serve all types of Mezcal like White Oak Saloon in Melbourne who charged around $20 for their higher shelf Mezcal. I was excited to come here because it's not easy to find Mexican bars/ bars in general in Sydney that have a decent range of Mezcal but I can't say that I would be able to afford coming here very often. Would like to check out the cocktails next time as they're more affordable and are made with old ice shaveing contraptions. They look like they taste amazing and the staff themselves are fantastic.

Tiny little back-alley bar, but if you know what you’re going for, you’re gonna be impressed. If you want Tequila, they have a lot. If you want Mezcal, they have even more. Staff are perfectly accommodating for both someone who is unsure of what to order and someone who is a seasoned Mexican spirit drinker!

It's been over a year now since we stumbled across this unique and authentic place. We were just on our way home when the owner yelled at us (in a very likeable way) to come in from hundred metres away. We did, had amazing service, drinks and conversations. Now at the other side of the world I try to get some sleep and this place came to my mind. I really hope they survive this pandemic. Such a great (actually very small) place.

There was a big group of us in tonight and we had a wonderful time. The drinks were delicious-- be sure to check out the Colada OK! The service and staff were great too. The only thing that would of made our experience better is if there was better ventilation as it tended to get uncomfortably warm at times. Aside from that, you will not be disappointed! Sydney is lucky to have a little gem like Cantina.

Stumbled on this place by happy accident and it was great! Bartendar was so enthusiastic and passionate about his job and it showed in the absolutely phenomenal cocktails. The atmosphere - given it's Sydney's smallest bar- is unique and creates a really amazing and intimate atmosphere you don't usually find in a bar. Definitely recommend.

He remembered my name upon a second visit and I felt like a star. Exquisite and rare tequila and mezcal selection, served with a tiny seasoned watermelon cube. If I’m ever back in Sydney, I’ll certainly be back here. Visit this bar; the reviews are accurate.

***** The best little bar in Sydney I have ever been to, hands down!!!! ***** We saw the lights of OK Cantina shining down a small laneway whilst we were walking past on a Saturday night. We enquired and were invited in with open arms and enjoyed some of the best hospitality we've had on a night out in Sydney in years!!! (1) Incredible cocktails (particularly mescal/smoky based) - try the "Old Fashioned"!!! (2) Awesome staff!! Recommending and Educating (3) Hand crushed ice!! Old school ice crushing worked well for our margaritas (4) Small enough bar that we felt VIP at all times!! We had Omar and Kenny as bartenders and they were awesome!! We will be back for sure!!!
