Tried the Drummer Cheeseburger, and i never been that satisfied by a “house burger”. Coming with delicious fries (not sure, but probably with paprika). More than enough for a dinner. A little gem along Glebe Point Road. Fantastic cocktail list, I had a pisco sour, not many places in Sydney make these and fewer make them this well. The espresso martini seemed to be the star of the show though, my friends loved theirs.

Lovely space, incredibly friendly staff and very cool music! What a little surprise in the heart of Glebe. I had some craft pale ale and a cocktail called The Last Stand, recommended by the bartender on hearing our general preferences. Haven't tried the food this time, but the vibe of the place is so cool I will definitely be coming back!

Awesome bar that serves some great drinks and huge selection of cocktails! Friendly bar staff and bouncers. There are also different sections in the bar with different vibes, a busy area near the main bar with music and booths, an upstairs area with a more relaxed chilled out vibe and back area. Would definitely recommend trying this place out if you're in the area!

The bar was really nice and cosy, we were out the back where it’s a bit lighter. The music was great and the staff were even better. I was driving so they made up mocktails from whichever drink I like, for example an amaretto sour without any alcohol. The food was delicious and generous servings.

Fantastic bar. Decent prices + friendly service + excellent selection of cocktails= a great night out. I've been here a few times and sampled a fair chunk of the menu, with no duds. The bartenders who've served me, Jay and Josh, are great guys, really friendly and ready to help if you're not sure what to choose. Last time I was here I enjoyed the Drummer Cheeseburger - a proper American burger - and the new 'Kaiju' beer. Both were great. Would recommend this place to anyone!

Great selection of cocktails, which are made with care and skill. This is a relaxed venue but worth a visit if you enjoy the trendy vibe. There's a model train running around a track above the bar - just for fun. The beers are bottled but they have a good selection and well thought out.

This place ticks all the boxes. Excellent across the board. Amazing drinks, service and atmosphere. The music choice is always a blast from the past and the food is top. I reccomend the loaded gems for something to share if you're not feeling too peckish but want some nibbles. Service is always on point, there was always a check for who was being served and great recommendations for anyone who wasnt sure. Swing by if you're ever in Glebe. The place is always buzzing with energy.

Ventured to the Drummer for the first time in a few years the other night, and fell in love with the place again. Amazing cocktail list, two boys behind the bar had equal parts knowledge and banter, generally phenomenal vibe. Started off with an in-house creation 'The General Smith' (a gin, apple juice spin-off) which went down an absolute treat, and transitioned into whisky sours. Can't believe it had been so long since I'd been here, bringing a group in this weekend after dinner around the corner. Highly recommended.

I got locked out of my friend's place last night. So I needed to keep myself occupied for an hour or so. The different drummer was open - lively with great music. I had a lovely chat with one of their awesome bartenders (Stephen?! I think his name was!) And he made me a killer espresso martini! I highly recommend this great cocktail bar!

I don't normally do cocktails, but a friend was having farewell drinks here, so I thought I'd try a few. Pretty standard affair. Decent vibe. I liked that it was spread over three stories, with a balcony area that had great views of the city.

This place is pretty cool! It's a bit too loud in the front area near the bar, but it's better if you go further inside. Their Halloumi burger is freakin awesome!! One of the best burgers ever!! So are their cocktails. At peak hours their kitchen service can get a little messy. They delivered my order to another table. But the staff were very friendly, accommodating and the quality of food was excellent. I would have given it a 3.5 stars, but the taste of the burger pushed me to give a 4 star rating. I'll review my rating after I go there a few more times.

Apart from being a great bar this place has absolutely got a Covid Safe protocol. Door is locked and manned by staff, digitally sign in, seating spaced appropriately, excellent hygiene and hand sanitiser available. Full marks.

Been a favourite hangout of mine for many years. Great selection of cocktails and good tapas. Bar staff are always very accommodating and will make you whatever you feel like. Recommend it for group gatherings but get in early, it gets packed!

This place is fab; the atmosphere, drinks, food and friendly staff make it what it is. The place is quite dark but that just adds to the atmosphere, as well as the moody lighting. I was there at an event hosted at the back of the ground floor. The staff were attentive and lovely (kept the place clean despite many glasses and crumbs!) and the nibblies they provided were yum (fresh bread and dips, anyone?). Fun was had by all and will definitely drop in to try more of those delicious looking cocktails.

Fun and exciting place with lots of cocktails and tapas to offer. Great for a small hangout with friends as space is limited. Their tapas are delicious but also love the sangria and other drinks. A great tapas bar at a reasonable price. When ordering cocktails the bar tenders recommended drinks based on what we like and were happy to accommodate our friend who wasn't drinking with a delicious mocktail. The tapas had generous portions - I particularly enjoyed the nachos and duck parcels. It was quite busy and we initially had to sit in a cramped high table - so I would recommend going in early if you are in a large group.

This bar has a lot of personality and charm Located in the hip Sydney suburb of Glebe, Different drummer is very similar to a certain bar I use to frequent when living in America. With the rock n roll red lit bar, and the courtyard out back adorned in the retro hip underground comic and movie posters of the 50's and 60's, it's modern yet kitschy vibe is very special. The staff are lovely, drinks are mid priced and all the patrons were having fun would definitely return again.

I want to like this bar but the vibe is always a bit odd. Like its about to start pumping but doesnt. In the rare occasion i have found a great DJ and the dance floor can be fabulous fun when it does get going. Menu was uninspiring so have never eaten here.

My friend and I held our joint 30th birthday party at Different Drummer on Saturday night. We had around 60 people attend and we went a little crazy on the decorations. Dave and his crew could not have been more friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. The food was superb, the drinks on point and all in all we just had the best time. I cannot recommend this place enough for your next party as the vibe is fricken' awesome! On another note I have been to Different Drummer a few times just as a regular customer and it has always been great on the food, drink and service front. Just get yourself there and try it out! Keep up the great work fellas!

Wow the cocktails were great. The stairs are a nightmare to get up and down, they are so steep. A great place to have a function for a group of 10 - 15 friends to celebrate a birthday. The place gets so busy on the weekend.

This place was so fun - really tasty tapas and a nice wine selectoin. It was pretty loud so maybe not the best place for a tete-a-tete, but such great atmosphere! It's tiny upstairs but that only added to the funky vibe and we had a wonderful night out. We went with a Livingsocial group deal so it was incredibly cheap, but full price still reasonable (and the food is great so it's worth it anyway). Highly recommended!

I often order burgers late at night on uber eats and these guys prepare the food quickly and to a very high standard. The mushroom burger and the haloumi burger are GREAT vegetarian options and should be considered by both vegetarians and carnivores alike. The chips are equally good too - very nice seasoning.

Wacko Jacko is long gone, but this cosy little bar keeps the punters happy with an extensive cocktail list (or go off-piste and challenge the bar staff to make you something special) and delicious tapas.

Some of the best cocktails in the inner-West, and that’s an achievement. Delicious, excellently balanced drinks at pretty reasonable prices. Having some of the best bar staff at any Sydney venue is a huge factor. Consistent staff, very friendly, conversational, attentive to requests. Also worth noting that my gf feels comfortable around them, which isn’t a common experience with young male bartenders unfortunately. These guys have one of the best steaks I’ve tasted, and at only $21 it’s a bargain (eaten three times in 2021). Fried chicken and cauliflower bites are also top-notch. One of the best venues for a good drink in a location with great vibes. Definitely recommend. — Multiple visits across 2021/2022 / Glebe local
