Music was constantly changing but in a good way, always sang to the tunes, polished off with a record machine in the corner. The drinks menu was refreshing and new, the "Paint it Black" was a hit with the table. Thanks Mojo for a terrific experience

S. C.Love this quirky small bar tucked downstairs behind a record store. Staff are super friendly and know their stuff. The cocktails were great, there's a plethora of craft beers to choose from and a delicious looking wine list. The playlist as you would imagine is super cool, and the free bacon rings on the bar were a nice touch. Looks like it fills up fast after work, especially on a Friday night, so get there early or be prepared for the big squeeze!
E. D.This place is incredible. You stroll in and you can visit the record store which doesn't have a bad selection at all. You then mosey on down to the bar where you are greeted with some candlelit tables and a roof full of records. The drink selection was quite good. We shared a garlic bread which I definitely rate. It was a Wednesday night, so it was busy enough to give a good vibe, but quiet enough that we didn't have to wait for a table. 3 thumbs up - great place!

Great selection of cocktails, spirits and beer and fantastic vibes. I love it almost as much as Frankie's Pizza.

The staff is great, the drinks are not shamelessly overpriced (although you won't get a cheap night out when you come here) and the atmosphere of the place is great. On your way out, make sure you go check out the vinyl collection in the shop!

L. L.Lovely little bar, great hand pull beer! Cosy place and love the music. One of the new boutique mini bar in Sydney. under ground gives it a more mysterious feel. Haven't tried the food, but variety of alcoholic drinks is very interesting.
A. H.A fantastic find! Excellent ambience, music, staff and cocktails. Unlike similar bars in the vicinity which serve below average cheeseboard or entrees for ridiculous prices, this place does not serve any food. However, they can order you a pizza if you like. I found this quite interesting.

S. A.I went to Mojo's for a first date on a Friday night. The crowd was busy but relaxed (no pushing or aggro) and the music was fantastic - they played a lot of 60s and 70s stuff that night. The prices of drinks were fairly standard for the city but not excessive. I sat next to the old style jukebox which was a great novelty. The food menu is small and simple but tasty. I had the Club Sandwich for around $12 and it was a great serve, with generous amounts of bacon (got to be a winner!). My date had one of the hot dogs which also went down a treat (similar price).
B. M.We need more underground bars like this in the Sydney CBD. Granted, it is possible I'm simply missing all the underground bars by walking past them, but I can confirm MOJO is very cool and all class. The place doesn't usually get really busy and the staff are always super friendly and professional. If I had one complaint, I was say the place wasn't dank or dirty enough for my preference, but that's simply something I'm after. The vast masses will enjoy this place as a really hip hangout spot.

Great little place, love the entry and the size, crowd control can be a problem over the weekends but in saying that I have has quite a few enjoyable nights sitting at the bar, getting great recommendations on beers and spirits from the knowledgeable and experienced bartenders. Energy is great, staff friendly and professional and interesting.
J.Pretty neat place if your not into night clubs and pubs. Be prepares to see a LOT of hipsters though and you will here Riders of the Storm every visit. Its best enjoyed later when it's not so crowded. We go back every time we visit Sydney so they are doing something right.

Complete with vintage style atari-like arcade machine, vintage pinball machine, and collectable record store, this pace is hard to beat. Reasonably priced drinks are the go here. The music, as the club suggests, is also rather alternative compared to the modern music that goes on in the majority of clubs in the city
T. F.A great small bar with an urban feel. Located next CBD hotel on York Street it serves pizzas, fried chips and other small bar foods. The decor goes well with name with records on the walls, a record shop at the front of the bar. On a Friday night it is full of young business workers. Ideal for date nights as well guys.

Pulled out one of those hotel magazines that mentioned my favourite word, cocktails. Found the place easy enough with Google maps, despite being a stranger to Sydney.
Headed inside and was immediately impressed with the rustic and connected nature of the place.
Discussed how I like my cocktails which was received week, and in a few shakes had a glorious drink in my hand.
Excellent service and product. Highly recommend especially this week as it's Cocktail week here shouts.

E. D.Have you ever walked past Mojo Record store in Sydney; probably yes. Have you ever gone into Mojo's Record store; maybe yes. Did you know there is a bar located through the door at the back of store; probably no. I think the fact that it is so secret is a big part of the appeal. The bar is tiny so it can be tough to get a seat so just get comfortable wherever you are standing. There isn't much on the food menu and I think they stop serving as it gets late but the bar staff are very friendly and will encourage you to order a pizza and have it delivered to the bar. You can also wander through the record shop with a drink in hand which is awesome.

f. “. i.When I visited Mojo a few years' back I wasn't overly impressed. The stock was a little sparse and the prices on the heavy side. Since reacquainting myself a few months ago I now make it my mission to visit them at least once every couple of weeks. The stock is mostly recent releases with some second hand vinyl (no CDs here). There isn't a lot of second hand stuff, but what they have in that pile is a mixed bag. Mojo's big strength, however, is the quality stock of new releases at a mostly reasonable price. They might not have the range of Sydney's mainstay Red Eye Records down the road, but on average they beat them on price.
In summary, Mojo is well worth the effort if you're looking for new vinyl at a good price.

J. T.Mojo is a little basement oasis in the middle of a soul-less desert of over-priced, slick drinking holes in a city that celebrates the holy dollar. It's worth dropping in for the incredible music playlist alone, which features classics like Hendrix, The Who, Small Faces, White Stripes, anything good. The bar staff are the friendliest and best in Sydney - take it from a wino - the cocktails are famous and the pinot gris goes down a treat, all for a reasonable price. It has great snack food, complimentary bacon crunchy things, and you could spend all night drinking in the decor of rock'n'roll memorabilia. Five stars. Don't bother going anywhere else.

This nocturne scene is not riddled with gansters however... much worse.. hipsters. Flocks of this young marginally employed demographic converge to overpopulate tables and booths. This being said... I've never had a bad night at Mojo's. While a little elbow to elbow.. you can always find somewhere to lean. Barstaff are heaps of fun and very good at flashy cocktails and anything that is left of centre. Drinks can be served in awesome silver goblets as you'd expect to find in a bar in Hogsmeade. Reasonably priced for a trendy bar in the city.. and something different for a friday night.
