What a gem! Amazing, creative original cocktails with story and heart. Their cocktail menu is amazing with art, and a backstory to each listed. The staff are responsive, and care about your experience and their craft.

Distinctive cosy hidden bar in Kent St which you can enjoy many types of great cocktails. Their cocktail menu is decent and can easily find your favourite drinks as they offer any types of spirit such as Whiskey, Rum, Vodka and Gin based cocktail which can simply fulfil any tastes. Surprisingly nowadays, you can hardly find pubs that offer Absinthes drink, however I think they had 12 different types of them which really impressed me. My most favourite drinks were Gun powder hig and Khaleesi’s coup and from Absinthes Collection, I really enjoyed La fee bohemian And Berthe de joux. Thank you Team for being friendly and providing a great service. Highly recommended.

Lovely ambience, friendly bartenders and fun designs. I tried absinthe for my first time - Berthe De Joux was really easy to drink. I didn’t need to dilute it with sugar and water. The Cuban nuts are alright, and we also got some olives. My hubby also tried the special Negori with aged mezcal and smoked pineapple - couldn’t taste much pineapple. The milo high - was Low on milo, and high on horchata. Fun place. Would be back again! Only realized upon paying that the discount on absinthe means we have to pay before 6pm.

My hands down favourite bar in Sydney. The staff are super attentive and friendly, and they can easily explain how every drink is going to taste and help you decide which one to go for. I loved their menu for the past couple of years, and I’m extremely eager to try out the new menu! I've visited several times after a friend recommended this bar, naming it his favourite bar in Sydney. It's an intimate, inviting space with bar and table seating to choose from, mood lighting, and welcoming bar staff who provide table service and excellent recommendations. The menus are illustrated and have a gothic story to them, which is fun to read. The drinks are top notch and testament to the skills and creativity of staff. All this and a welcome absence of pretension to this inner city bar make it one of my favorites too.

Small joint and you have to walk down an alley to get to it. If you didn't know where to look you would miss it. And this is part of what makes this an excellent joint. Hidden hole in the wall bars are usually a gem. This is. Darkly lit, unqiue decor, but it works for them. Have been twice and it was crowded on both occasions. Good selection of cocktails, priced competitively to other bars ( Palmer, Bulletin, Grandma's), and the unique setting and hidden location make this a must stop of bars in the city. Should be on any bar hopping list and may even become your go-to. Well done Papa. Well done.

Fantastic little place located down an alleyway. Inside is dimly lit with funky decor. Went on a Friday afternoon and was able to sit at table, chairs and pouffe. It got quite popular after 6pm which only added to the buzzing atmosphere. Their cocktail menu is extensive. I tried a few, all delicous! Lastly, the service was really impressive.

Great service and cocktails at PGs tonight! Greeted as soon as we walked in and were escorted to a great little table towards the back. The blonde girl who waited our table was really lovely and she had a great sense of humour. I ran into an old friend completely out of the blue here and it really just seemed like this bar takes the right people in. I wouldn't recommend going here if you like a packed atmosphere. These guys nail it. This place is best enjoyed in smaller groups of say 2-4 people - especially on a Friday/Saturday night, but we went down with 6 of us on a Thursday night and the guys managed to squeeze us in at the bar. Great service and conversation with the guys behind the bar. The location, decor/fitout make this a pretty cool spot too. I'm looking forward to coming back again soon.

Best drinks I’ve had at one place. Out of 6 different drinks nothing disappointed. The drinks are complex subtly tasting different flavors in stages as you sip away. Staff is very knowledgeable in their craft and service is top notch. Atmosphere... Perfect. Start with a Zombie cocktail and you’ll be on the path for a good night of fun.

Have been here a few times now...The bar has a chilled out vibe, with a crazy voodoo theme to their cocktails. It's not overly big so you may find it's hard to find a seat on busy nights. All the bartenders are super approachable & friendly. One of the owners, Mick from Birmingham always makes the effort to talk to his patrons and ensures they feel like they got taken care of, the guy's just an all round good bloke! Thanks Mick! This is my favourite bar!! The service and cocktails are great. Has a really good vibe and is not too busy on weekdays making it a great place to just chill out and drink with friends. They have a comedy night every third tuesday of the month which is great! Its only $10 entry for the comedy. I recommend this place highly!

The bourbon one is a winner, as is their take on an old fashioned - quite strong for my taste but very popular with the guys! I have to say this is hands down my favourite bar in Sydney. I only discovered it a few months ago but I'm now a frequent visitor! The guys are so welcoming and hospitable it makes the entire experience so much more enjoyable. It makes such a change to have assertive bar staff / hosts at a venue that really go above and beyond to make sure you have a great night and have everything you want. They're so friendly and clearly know their stuff if you want to get a little adventurous with the drinks, just trust the guys and they'll steer you in the right direction! As always, excellent-tasting cocktails made by well-endowed, friendly bartenders. Quaint, but vibrant, and the gothic-style illustrations on the menu and littered on the walls are pleasant. And cute. The cocktail descriptions are also interesting to read. My personal favourites are the sweet or citrusy or refreshing ones. The saint, the beeholder, troll face, and milo high club are my personal picks, but I think a first timer in their bar should order their Zombie cocktail :) Overall excellent casual bar. 11/10 spot.

Wonderfully hidden down an alleyway off of Kent St is this little Mexican themed small bar. Interesting cocktail menu that its hard to choose just one drink. Nice hidden small bar (without being squashy) with excellent service where they provide good recommendations on drinks depending on your tastes. Chairs are comfy and staff are always on the lookout for you checking on your comfort and if you like the drink or if you require more drinks. This place sends to be pet friendly too with two little doggies running around (belonged to customers). Some regulars we meet at this bar strongly recommended the zombie - must try if you're into your strong cocktails.

Really cool bar, creative menu with nice bar staff. The reason the three stars is that the drinks are weak. For $19 a drink they should put 1.5 shots in or something or make them much smaller so they are stronger. The aged old fashioned was excellent with walnuts in the aging process, interesting flavors.

Tucked away down a side alley off Kent Street, blink and you'll miss it. This quaint little cocktail bar has a bit of a slick Mexican thing going on. We came here early in the evening (~6.30) so it wasn't too busy meaning we could nab a spot on the couches. The service was great and the bar staff were friendly. Although they have a small selection of beers and wines, it kind of seems silly to come here to sink some suds or a glass of red. I had 2 rounds of "The Charmer" ($16, presented in a tall jam jar with ice) - nice and fruity, which hit the spot after a day wandering around Sydney. Plenty of other interesting sounding cocktails on the menu - will definitely come back again.

You need to be on the lookout for this one! This is such a great find. It seems this place thrives on word of mouth only. Unlike many of Sydney's small bars this venue is hip and cool without going over the top. Beer selection and cocktail lists are excellent.

One of my favourite bars in Sydney! The entrance is down an alley, but when you find it, you won't want to leave! It's small in size but has a lot to offer. Their cocktails are out of this world. It takes a few minutes but it's worth waiting for. For a little place, they have quite a few people behind bar + providing table service. That's a good thing! The service here is better than most high end restaurants I have been to in Sydney. They only have bar snacks so this is not somewhere you would get real food. PS You pronounce it as 'Geddie' not Geeds. I've been mispronouncing it for a while now...

This is a great alternative to heading to Absinthe Salon for Absinthe. Theirs, like Absinthe Salon's, is delicious. Also talk to the bartenders about cocktails, they do some different ones. Not a good place for large groups, but a group of us went together and they let us settle our bill separately, which makes it so much easier.

I was completely unaware my wallet had fallen from my bag on leaving the bar. I woke to a text from Micky of Papa Gedes telling me my wallet had been found and to please call to make arrangements for its return. When I called Micky there was absolutely no issue in picking up my wallet even hours before the bar opened. I was greeted by a friendly up beat staff member who returned my wallet, told me it had been found in the Lane Way leading to the bar, asked me about f I was ok and wished me great day! EVERYTHING! Went here for the first time the other day and just finding the place along the quaint cobblestone alley is a fun start to the night. Was met at the door with a menu - but this place lacked the pretension that repels me from so many of these places. The place has a great voodoo style theme and the mood lighting, music and decor work. It's cozy and they have a range of absinthe cocktails along with the traditional absinthe set up. Loved their Bloody Mary! It is served with parsely, a lemon wedge and a pickle and they make it is spicy as you like it. For good times, try Papa Gede's.
