We came for a quick bite and drinks and were happy to see a great selection of beers. We ordered the $1 Hot Chilli Chicken Wings & Chips. The place was nice and quiet, so we got to enjoy our drinks and food. Service was also quick and friendly.

The Paragon Hotel is located in Loftus Street, Sydney, across from Circular Quay. I caught the train to Wynyard and then caught the connecting train to Circular Quay Station from Platform 6. We had booked a table in the dining area upstairs. It's a typical, vibrant pun atmosphere. The food's not bad at reasonable prices.

Good food and the upstairs bar is nice. Typical sports bar downstairs - same menu options on both levels. Good cocktail selection as well - the Scottish Mule is highly recommended. Gets busy on weekends, bookings are a good idea.

Nice pub with a lovely open rooftop dining area, however it could use a bit more of a thorough clean - I stuck to the table as soon as we sat down. Food is a bit pricey for a pub, but all pubs have restaurants instead of bistros these days. Steak, mushroom gravy, and chips were lovely, salad was bland. As nice as it was I wouldn't say it was worth $33! Staff were very friendly. The last drawback was a large elderly birthday party who booked out half the restaurant on a Sunday at lunch during the Halloween markets, then decided they wanted to stand around the other half of the restaurant while they drank and talked VERY loudly. We just wanted out of there so I didn't even bother getting photos!

Last night was my first time here (Thursday) which I thoroughly enjoyed. A group of us piled in here after disembarking from a Captain Cook Cruise. A great atmosphere & location, friendly, prompt service at the bar & a nice venue.

Food is ok and slightly overpriced for what it is but that is the general trend in the CQ area. They have a coupon in the entertainment book which makes the price a bit more reasonable. Predominantly a white collar crowd. Better places to eat nearby prior to coming here for a drink. Don't have the sound on during many major sporting events.

The rooftop here is a little treasure right in the heart of circular quay. Perfect for a few drinks on a Sunday afternoon. We rolled into here after a free flowing brunch so it was a nice place to back it up with a few cold bevies

Good place for a casual drink down stairs, and a good place work gathering up stairs. Can get busy, so book a table for an event. The bar staff were friendly and relatively quick. They have A range of good pubfood to eat , including wedges, pizza that can be ordered from the Bar.

The down side is the tourist trap being in the location it is the food is decent but portion size is very small for the price tags. I ordered fish and chips for $26.50 and I thought they forgot my other half of the chips.....

In convenient location with easy walk to train, ferry and tram. Clean and nice decor. Beer prices average what is around but we were there early so missed out on specials. Didn't try food but saw others eating and it looked like decent pub meals, though need to compare prices. It appears there might not be enough seating but that is because of Covid-19 circumstances. Staff were polite. We were waiting for a ferry and were only there for two drinks. Would have liked to rate 3.5 stars as it's a nice little pub in convenient location. Definitely will return to try food, check out specials and clientele.

I have avoided the Paragon for 20+ years, because my evening either began or ended poorly based after visits here in my youth (my fault alone, not theirs!). The selection of drinks was very good and the food was great. So good that we have stopped by a further 2 times since being in the area.

Welcoming and professional staff, cheerful atmosphere; this is the place to go in Circular Quay late in the night. Pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and hospitality of staff after I was refused entry to the nearby Ship Inn (see my previous one-star review) on account of being too drunk, according to bouncer Vahad's mystical telepathic breathalyser. By contrast, I was politely asked to sign in at the Paragon (which I was completely happy to do in a time of pandemic) by respectful and kind door staff, served a non-alcoholic beverage as requested at the bar, and left in blissful peace to work on my computer. Highly recommended; skip the Shi+ Inn and go here instead.

For those with long memories, the Paragon is a much more welcoming place than it used to be. It remains, however, thoroughly standard in its ambience and food. There are some decent beers, and I got good service, and it is not ridiculously priced, so there are still reasons to be here rather than other places in the quay. Overall, though, not somewhere to treat as a destination.

Have had lunch here recently. Everyone in the group has said the meals are great, the staff were amazing, good size portions and good value. The casual restaurant is often full so good idea to book. On a warm and sunny day sitting in the rooftop bar is awesome.

We came in because we heard music upstairs. The place has it's unique charm but from my point of view it's oriented towards college kids. I've asked for Old Fashion and it took sone time to prepare it, I assume because the bartender never made that drink, but someone behind the bar knew how to make it and showed her. It was a decent old fashion so she gets my regards. The space had half of its roof open and everyone was smoking under that half. I get elevated stomach acidity levels when people smoke around me so it gave me a heart burn. I tried to find a place where the smoke would not be as prevalent but it was still strong regardless where I went. If you are a smoking person who likes to drink and shake your butt, its a place for you!

Came today for lunch with my husband, what an amazing lunch...to die for is an understatement. Husband and I had the smoked salmon and seafood green curry special. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, music and vibes in the background on point and not to over powering. Staff polite. Cool place at the footsteps of the water. Not expensive either. Would love to try the dinner next time but perfect location to enjoy vivid. Thank you to the chefs and staff for all your amazing hospitality. Don’t believe me try it for yourself

I haven't stepped in Paragon since it was renovated. It's nice! The pizzas are great, sangria are nice, atmosphere good. Only downside is that the upstairs is now open air, which means people can smoke. I haven't smelt cigarettes smoke in ages, so that's the only thing that put me off.

A great choice if you’re looking for a good pub meal and a few cold beers. Downstairs is suited to those who are keen on watching sport with the upstairs more suited to socialising. One of my favourite Sydney pubs with fast and friendly service.

This place has so much potential to be packed, it's across from Circular Quay station, has a rooftop bar and you can literally smoke a few metres away from the crowd, however, it's pretty empty. Could be due to the music/DJ area and lack of dedicated dance floor space. I had a decent time but I don't think it's worth coming back for.

Was amazed at this place after the refurb - upstairs is amazing! This place has a way of combining suave stylish decor with everyday city living feel about it, never feeling too pretentious, yet always looking & feeling like it's a 'nice' place, not just another pub. Food service was nice, very friendly waitress (late 20's brunette?), my partner & I both tried one of the 'Easter' cocktails and they were amazing, and only $10, band was just setting up when we left, so we didn't get to hear them, but the music during dinner was great - very eclectic. The Paragon Hotel is centrally located at at Circular Quay. It is close to busses and ferries and only a short walk away from beautiful Sydney Harbour. The venue has an exciting, energetic vibe.The ground floor is the front bar with a big range of beers wines and spirits. I really like the open air bar on the first floor. Look you can get a cheap beer here right in circular quay but the extra buck is worth it for the atmosphere of customs house bar. just right across the road. The paragon gets pretty roudy during footy season with its self described moniker of Barmy army HQ. Looking for a night with the poms drinking and watching the game? then this is your place. Not looking for that? avoid.
