Had a lovely afternoon drink at The Royal Hotel! It was my first time here but I will most definitely be back! Level two was most definitely my favourite, having a good ambience The prices of drinks were not cheap by the glass or bottle. It would have been nice to see a glass of rosé in the 9 dollar range (especially at happy hour)

Multiple levels of goodness from a standard bar on the ground floor, a dining room and wrap around external balcony perfect for watching the action in Five Ways on first, function room on the second floor and up top, a small rooftop area with a pleasant view. The food is good, the staff are pleasant and they support the local primary school (GRPS) through a donation scheme.

Plus que ça change! Great to be able to go to a basic pub. Ok, so I'm not headed upstairs to the fancy bar. I'm an old man these days (not really, but in bar terms!), but downstairs still functions like a good old pub!

The best thing about this place is the 30% discount on Mondays! And fish tacos, they are amazing. The food is good but the portions are not very large. I also waited for my pasta for about 35 minutes. My friend ordered salmon, it came with pretty much no sides (just a very few greens). I feel that the waiter could have recommended to get something else to go with the fish.

We booked the Royal Hotel Elephant 🐘 Bar for a dinner for nearly 50 school mums last night and it was perfect. The private, refurbished space is stunning, the service impeccable, the food plentiful and healthy, and the support by Alexa and Amelia from the Royal second to none. We have booked two years in a row and will definitely book again. Set menu of $60 per head for two courses plus drinks 🍷 on top made it reasonable for a special night out in Sydney. We collected funds upfront in trybooking and everyone paid for drinks as they went so you could as much or as little as you like. Much more flexible than a lot of other venues we have looked at. Thank you 🙏

Downstairs is a bit meh, but if you ignore that and keep going round the side and up the stairs you'll be rewarded with a roof top patio and terrace. Downstairs would be pretty good for watching sports to be honest, as there are plenty of big screens. Reasonable choice of beers on the pumps.

Great location, and a lot of variety at the venue along with quite friendly staff. Speaking only about the restaurant -- nice décor and decent menu, though the execution is average unfortunately for the prices charged; cocktails are average (how to have happy hour cocktails, where you just serve less in the glass?) and the meals sound good in concept, yet really are pretty flat. This is a great social venue, but if you are after a good meal (and value for money!), there are much better spots at 5 ways.

I attended the bottomless brunch and while the food was delicious, I must say that I was shocked at the sheer amount of wastage. Platters of food with really amazing ingredients like smoked salmon and Camembert were brought to our table, but far too much food was brought and therefore at least 60% of it was not touched. I am not sure what is done with the food afterwards, but my assumption is that its all thrown away afterwards to comply with health and safety standards. I think a better way of doing the brunch would be to bring out 1 or 2 platters and then top up on the food as required, instead of throwing way too much food on the table and throwing away half of it. I think this is something I am a bit sensitive towards given that a large proportion of this world is starving, and I can't help but feel guilty when I am sitting at a restaurant that is wasting platters of really good food. For this reason, I will rate it 3 stars

We have been coming go the Royal for years so it was one of my go-to pubs for a mothers day venue. They also advertised that all Mums receive a glass of sparkling wine. Nice. Except, it never arrived. The food was OK. Schnitzel was a good pub standard and fries, above average. Burgers also looked good. Pasta was a fail - gluggy and greasy. Service was a little slow for a room that didn't seem that busy. We still have a soft spot for this place. Just don't advertise something and not deliver it.

The atmosphere is welcoming and the place is frequented by locals. Average prices. We had dinner in two and we had very good and delicate flavor ravioli with truffles. Then we got the fish and a steak, both excellent! To finish the panna cotta. Super recommended! There is also a terrace from which you can see the city, beautiful! (Original) Ottimo ristornate e pub! Si può mangiare al ristorante o anche prendere solo da bere. Il menù varia dagli hamburger a piatti sofisticati e semplici che risultano buonissimi. L'Atmosfera è accogliente e il locale è frequentato da gente del posto. Prezzi nella media. Siamo stati a cena in due e abbiamo preso dei ravioli al tartufo molto buoni e delicati nel sapore. Poi abbiamo preso il pesce e una bistecca, ottimi entrambi! Per finire la panna cotta. Super consigliato! C'è anche una terrazza da cui si vede la città, bellissima!
