Beautiful old Aussie pub. The beer and service was excellent. Reading the reviews we thought we were in for a real treat with the steak, however food took 1.5hrs to come out and the steaks had that bland “been frozen” for a while taste to them. Our garlic bread was forgotten, which they gave us our money back for but we had starving kids from a day of riding and still had some kms to do so not the experience we were hoping for. By looks of reviews it must of been a off night. Will give it another go though.

Stayed here overnight while passing through and was very impressed with the room for the price. Clean and comfortable. As you’d except, it can be a little noisy so pack some earplugs as I did and you won’t have an issue at all. Will stay again if going through.

Beautifully cooked meal. Great vegetables. Pity about the ambiance, but the dinner made up for it. Found a nice dining room later. But because there were 5 of us, the only big table was taken. Maybe next time....

Passed through here on a bikepacking trip a few weeks back and stopped in for pizza. What a surprise we got when they gave us some of the best vegan pizzas we've had in NSW! The vegan options weren't on the menu from what we could see but if you ask for them... You're in for a real treat!!

Lovely little hotel in the heart of Braidwood. I only stayed there for one night as part of our trip so cannot comment in much detail but as far as my experience goes, the staff was lovely and helpful, the rooms were basic but clean. There is definitely room for improvement for the hotel and pub, but it serves the purpose the way it is now.

Highly recommend the Royal Mail, a beautiful country pub with good food and friendly staff. We stayed the night and the rooms were clean, private, and look great as they've recently been done up! It's a pub, so don't expect complete silence throughout the night -- but it's nothing that a pair of cheap earplugs won't fix! Overall an excellent place to eat, drink or stay the night.

We stopped here for lunch. To be honest the pub felt a little run down and unkept although the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Fresh meals for lunch and of nice size as well. Glad to have stopped by and eaten here but it could not hurt to fix this place up, even use the history of the place to benefit.

Old pub, rooms are fairly simple but clean, comfortable and have fridge, coffee/tea etc Bathroom is shared however they were clean and functional Enjoyed a really good steak meal in front of the log fire for ambience, staff were really helpful and friendly, drinks well priced with a good selection

Had dinner there. Ordered Braidwood scotch fillet. Came with a steak knife which was not required as this steak was so tender I could have cut it with a butter knife and the flavour was to die for. I am 70+ years of age and had many steaks over the years and this was up there with the best.

Meals are great value. Beer is nice and cold. The accommodation was a bit ordinary but it was only $70. Our room was tiny and had a strong smell of vomit. The bar staff are very friendly.

I dont know if this is a fair review because what can you expect staying above the pub. But all round a bit sad, old place with a shared bath. The bathroom was a bit tired too.

The ole pub is under new management now and things have really changed. Bistro is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Beer is cold, staff are welcoming and prices are very resonable. Accommodation has been updated, rooms have mini bar fridges, electric blankets, tea & coffee making. Enjoy the experience.

This is a cracking rural Aussie pub. I took a team of rugby boys for a weekend in Braidwood and we stayed here. Great service, great prices and comfortable accommodation. We will stay again for sure.

Great staff, rooms are cleaned while your not there, patrons of the hotel downstairs can be a bit noisy late, the bar gets very crowded because of how small it is, but overall pretty good 👍

stayed on Thursday night 8th November. road trip from dubbo to sth coast. had a good meal, rooms were basic and clean, enjoyed our stay right up until we went to bed around 930pm. I have stayed in a lot of pubs in my time but the foul abusive language coming out of a couple of younger women drinking down below I presume and the blokes egging them on did not stop until around 12-1230 pm. I could hear every word from my bedroom, it made for a very ordinary sleep, I couldn't recommend anyone to stay here from the sleep point of view unfortunately, otherwise all good
