Best cocktails in Sydney- Hands down. The bartenders are excellent at what they do. The range of signature cocktails is amazing. Definitely a place for cocktail and whiskey lovers to try.
D. C.
Great selection of food and drink with a lovely relaxed rustic aesthetic and atmosphere. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and a pleasure to be served by. Best to make a reservation as it will be busy and booked on the night
J. H.
Great small bar.. been meaning to try this place as I’ve heard so much about it. Went on a Thursday night so it wasn’t too busy, nevertheless the cocktails were very tasty!
A. W.
Such an amazing place. All 4 staff were incredible.
Best drinks and service I've had in a long time.
Amazing cocktails and vibe.
Will definitely be back ❤️🍹🍸
b.
Cocktail are great here, they have non alcoholic ones if you are just here for the vibe.
Chill atmosphere, I often come here alone and ignore everything around me and it works out great, it’s better to sit here and sip a drink on my own when the other bars are just too… social.
J. B.
Popular little bar but always a heap of fun. Great atmosphere, excellent cocktails. Food always looks and smells great but we normally go in for drinks. Funky little speakeasy, always love visiting when in the city.
T. B.
Haven't had an experience like this in a long time. Excellent vibe, fantastic music, mouth-watering menu (drinks and food).
Honestly on of the better bars in Sydney.
S. G.
Love this place ❤️
Dropped my phone here during pub hopping. Next day got a call from these guys to come pick my phone up. You and ur belongings are 100% safe at this place.
Really nice bartenders and they make amazing cocktails.
Do visit n try their tacos and drinks 🍺 🌮
V. N.
Your staff were incredible with how you treated us, polite, considerate, and friendly. That’s exactly why I always visit this place; and the cocktails, to die for ❤️
B. K.
An incredible staple of the Sydney bar scene, it is easy to see why this place is such a favourite with everyone. Been coming back for years and the place always delivers. Great food, cool vibe, awesome cocktails and a great selection of whiskey! Hard to go past the selections of Ardberg in my mind, always looking for an excuse to go back!
N. F.
Cool vibe, great cocktails. Service was slow & had to remind the team a few times about drinks we'd ordered via their on table app. Food was terrible. Avoid the sweet potato fries & barramundi - over cooked, oily & burnt. Go for a fun night drinks only.
L. S. S.
Great experience! Delicious cheese burger and an incredible cocktails menu (tried 6 of them and all were tasty and strong)! Friendly staff with great service!
L. M.
Thanks to the lady working there who suggested Spice/Smoke Rocket cocktail. It was very spicy and smoky and so good. Great atmosphere, at the time it was not too busy as it was right after Christmas, which made it perfect for us. Definitely will be back when I come to Sydney. Thanks guys and girls👊
S. C.
Fantastic burgers and cocktails. Great place to pop in for a bite to eat, highly recommend!
S. T.
Came after dinner on a Sat night, with no reservations. Aa a group of 9 we were seated to a table very quickly without much of a wait. Tick!
Super cosy and relaxed setting. Lots of drink choices and nibbles to choose from in the menu. Didn't order any hot food but saw theres the hot dogs and fries etc.
The entrance is not obvious nor has a massive neon sign pointing 'come in', so you could easily miss it walking by on a busy night without laying attention.
C. C.
Great selection of food and drinks including cocktails. Ordering at your table using a QR code system is a great way to enjoy your night without leaving the table!
C. a. M.
Highly recommend their cocktail class, super fun, interactive and you end up with lots of tips & tricks & DELICIOUS DRINKS!
N. B.
Try the Penicillin! Not on the drinks menu but came recommended... the ginger knocked my pumps off but it was addictive! Great place to do intimate socials.
L. M.
2 of us dined here evening of 12/6/21.
Nice welcome at top of stairs to start with, then met at bottom of stairs and taken to our table.
Good atmosphere, good music where you can still have a conversation; staff warm and friendly. Good choice of drinks incl an Old Fashioned whisky and cocktails.
Lamb brisket burger was awesome, as were the jalapeno poppers. Been here a few times and it always delivers a good night, will be back again.

Omg! I love this place - why don’t I come here more often? The staff are lovely, the drinks and food are great, and if you’re in the mood it’s just the kind of place you wanna be. American style, with cosy aesthetics and chill atmosphere. Love the decor and bar people - totally my kind of place. Highly recommend!
C. W.
This is what you call a true speakeasy.
No signs. Underground. Hidden and tucked away. Nice jazz music playing in the background. Makes for a perfect ambiance to chill out end of a working day.
Like any place in Sydney, it does get rowdy at times, something I don’t understand at such neat spots like this bar. Some people don’t realize the difference between a sport bar and speakeasy. It would be great if the staff encouraged the loud crowds to tone it down a bit.
Other than that, it’s one of my very few favourite bars in town.
The hotdogs are superb! Must try.
M.
This bar takes Covid seriously, at the same time the service was impeccable. The hotdog and waffle fries are to die for. Definitely a good place for a date or even with friends.
R. M.
Funky little underground 🚋 bar with good food and booze. Went for lunch on Friday with colleagues (with a booking) but saw a few empty tables but not worth the risk if you've got more than 4-5 in your party. The food 🥘 is ok nothing amazing but worth checking out. The ambience, deco and drinks 🍸 are what make the place great. Look out for the sowing machines and watch the stairs down to the bar.
C. L.
Cosy low-lit bar with vintage industrial sewing decor (antique Singer sewing machines, dressmaking/tailoring patterns as wallpaper) and decent food. They seem to have changed their menu from a few years ago. They now serve Americana style food like burgers, tacos, hot wings and hot dogs. The cheeseburger was quite good, juicy but nicely chargrilled burger patty in a milk bun. Staff were friendly. Great spot for a casual drink and bite to eat.
H. C.
This is a super cute small bar in the centre of the CBD. I think that they are going for an old world, turn of the century (the one before last) kind of look. The focus is definitely on the ambiance here. It's a great place for a one-on-one drink, of you're looking for something semi- intimate and not too loud. You can have a conversation here without having to shout. You can also book a table, if you're looking for somewhere you can take a group. The cocktail menu is great. They have a bunch of things that I've never seen before, but you can still order all your old favs. The 2nd Avenue is a cocktail I'd recommend and the Port Royal is delicious too. They have a great wine and spirit selection too. The staff a attentive and keen to help you choose a drink, if you're unsure if what to pick. Cocktails are about $20, which is pretty standard. They have food too, but I didn't test out the menu. From what I could see, it looked like American dine style meals; they had burgers and hotdogs and the like. You can split bills here too, which is great. Definitely a great spot for a session or a quick drink. Great cocktails and lovely staff.
S. M.
Nice place to share drinks with some friends, good variety of beers, the food is good in general, the Jalapeno poppers are crunchy and fun, just the curly fries are a bit disappointing, not taste even with the Parmesan and truffle addition. The Southern Fried Chicken Burger was pretty good, the chicken was tender and crunchy.
B. L.
This underground bar is quite hidden and will take newbies a few minutes to find the entrance at street level. The bar has a lot of booths which are great for small groups.
The menu here is American diner style, delivering dishes like the delicious duck sausage hot dog with foie gras, big bowls of shoestring fries for sharing, crunchy pork crackling, mac n cheese, burgers and so on. There is also an extensive list of wine, cocktails and beers.
E. F.
It has an American style menu, including the southern deep fried chicken burger, chicken wings and tex-mex tacos... I had the chicken burger which was Ok, not the best, the curly fries were a disappointment, too much oil on it, on the other hand the falafel burger was quite appealing. The bar has many options although is quite short in the beer selection.
M. F.
Absolutely loved sitting in the whisky room with a group of 8 people. Had an excellent assortment of drinks and the food tasted really good. The vibe and atmosphere was really moody and fun to be in.
J. B.
Cosy place with cute deco. Good food, great cocktails. I'd recommend booking in advance if you've got a big group, otherwise be prepared to wait up to an hour on busy nights.
S. C.
It was late dinner after day trip to the blue mountain. We randomly found this place as most of the restaurants already closed at 10pm. We didn't expect a bar but finally enjoyed experiencing this in our trip.
Friendly staff, nice food, music volume was quite high. The deco is nice too.
B. K.
Been here a few times before for their cocktails which were a solid offering back a few years back.
I can happily say they've since upped their cocktail game. =)
Their food is delicious! We had:
duck hotdog:lovely interesting flavour sausage matched with their sauce
onion rings: battered and fried perfectly. Aroma and taste was spot on.
frickles (fried pickles): O M G so fantastic that I just can't even. Be careful as the pickles juice is quite hot! Pairs wonderfully with the dill mayo. Mm mm mmmmmmmm
Pork crackling was also executed excellently and only suffered because of the amazing company it was compared against.
Corn riblets !! Wow that was something. Who knew that corn on the cob with sriracha was that good!!
Then the friend chicken main.... Just wow. A tad on the saltier side but the coating was crunchy and thin. The chicken... Let's just say I'm pretty sure I squirted somebody with chicken juice. Delicious and perfect on its own.
Great stuff Stitch. Solid show. =)
S. F.
Tried the pulled pork tacos (pretty good) and curly fries (weren't great, a little dry). Drinks were good, but pricey.
The bar had a fun atmosphere, but was a little busy even before dinner time and had to wait quite a while even for water.
b. H.
I loved the atmosphere and vibe.
Cocktails were great and foods were nice too!
S. R.
Hidden Gem, no kidding it's literally hidden. A set of stairs from York street will take you to this candlelit delight. Don't forget to try one (or more) of their specialty cocktails, they taste as good as they look. The food is great too.
I. A.
A cozy and tidy little bar with a great atmosphere, it's pretty inaccessible for anyone with mobility issues (small entrance door and a set of stairs down to the actual bar). Staff we're very polite and friendly.
The food was fine although I could've done with less sauce on my burger, by the time it arrived at my table the bottom bun had disintegrated and the sauce overwhelmed any other flavours.
Overall I had a good time while there and would probably go again.
V. M.
A quick visit before dinner elsewhere. Busy, underground bar friendly staff, delicious gin cocktail. Love the mural and sewing machine wall but nearly missed the unassuming entrance.
V. K.
Really nice speakeasy bar. Generous portion for the Chicken burger portion and their old fashion is top notch.
R. Z.
Decent burger feed and curly as fries (big enough to share with 10 hungry friends)
J. K.
Friendly staff, nice cocktails, opens till 2am, and have great late night feed. A really cosy place to chill and drink with mates! Would've given 5 stars if they didn't take the pork crackling off the menu!!! (They were the best!!)
G. C.
The concept of the bar is great and the cocktails are amazing. However we did order 2 drinks only to receive them half an hour later after we had to check up on them as they were forgotten by the staff. The food was limited but good. I’m not in a rush to go back but it’s still worth a try if you haven’t been
L. F.
Lovely bar with a nice atmosphere. Had a really nice night and Madame O's tarot reading was fun! I went early Monday and it was pretty lively! The wine and cocktails are great. I wish they had paper menus though...maybe I'm just old-fashioned haha
M. W.
Lovely little basement bar. Cool cocktails. Nice service too.
J. Q.
Not bad. They are tucked away and the entrance was a little hard to find but the place is surprisingly large. It’s a dimly lit sort of vibe with a lot of “booth” like areas - the tables were quite large and good for a group of people. There was a retro sort of vibe with like newspaper wallpaper on the walls and that WWII sort of feeling. The staff were pretty quick with our orders and it was great that you could order via the website/phone QR code. In terms of prices, they were reasonable - comparable to other bars.
J. S.
Delicious and strong cocktails, great yummy food - nice vibe to the place. Would definitely go back and recommend to others. The free tarot readings on a Monday night was super fun.
J. W. K.
Some of the best dinks I had in the last 5 years. Amazing service and great atmosphere. I will be back for sure.
N. C.
Such a good vibe. Was hard to find the place, but when you walk down the stairs it's super cool. Our waiter was lovely, I couldn't pick between the beef or lamb tacos, he recommended the beef. So glad I listened they were delicious. Ended up getting another serving. Highly recommend
S. K.
Delicious drinks and American style food. Loved the vibe and decor.
C.
Unique vibe n atmosphere, awesome bartender and staff, good cocktail! Everything is super awesome
The best bar I've ever been in city :)
K. B.
Fabulous place for pre dinner drinks. Mind you the food going by looked pretty good too. The atmosphere is so lovely and the service the best. The cocktails are very good too. We will be back.
Q. G.
Even though I was heavily pregnant and can't drink, from memory they make amazing strong cocktails. My husband and I came before it got busy on a Friday night, so we managed to order food and drinks and didn't take too long to arrive. We got the fried chicken burger, sweet potato fries and crispy pork crackling. My hubby's mojitos were cold n strong, would always come back.
A. S.
All in all, the venue itself was probably the best part. The food was good, though the menu itself left something to be desired, as did the cocktail list. However, the staff were more than welcoming, and the venue was an experience
B. &. T. M.
Service very helpful. Had called ahead , mentioned we were looking forward to the ribs we saw online, there aren't any ribs though. Ordered lamb burgers instead. They were tasty. Vibe was cool with old singer sewing machines everywhere.

Winter Solstice South of the Border event:
What a great night out! The staff where really friendly and so helpful. Antonio in particular was so accommodating in organising a beautiful dining spot for us and looking after us, The music was awesome as were the cocktails and the food! Thank you for making such a memorable evening!
A. J.
Awesome little spot! Delicious cocktails and chilled vibes. Only issue was WiFi/reception wasn't good due to the underground location and area of the venue we were seated at.
I. W.
Loving the vibe there with great food. From vegan to spicy food. There is something for everyone!
M. S.
First time coming to Sydney and Tim and Ross took complete care of us. Very nice, and provided very good customer service and conversation. They made the perfect cocktails for me and my friend. Could not recommend these two bartenders more.
T. Q.
Great cocktail - Johnny Hendricks. Super refreshing
D.
Great, unique cocktails!
About 20 each, standard for the area, but well above average
The ambience of this bar is also great
Definitely worth popping in
T. M. K. M.
I've been there first time today after work with some colleagues without knowing what to expect. What a nice surprise! The service is amazing, staff super friendly, and the drinks are all definitely 10 out of 10. I would not hesitate recommending the place to any of my friends. I am actually planning to go back there again very soon.
A. M.
Absolutely love this place. Food and cocktails both 10/10.
O. A. M.
Great atmosphere and service. They took the time to explain the different cocktails they had and even prepared some that weren't in the menu. Good vibes
R. A.
Amazing small bar, great for classic cocktails and whiskies, worth searching for. Atmosphere is really cool and the staff really know what they're talking about.
Worth making a booking if you don't want to wait on a Friday
I. R.
Pros: Funky and cosy little bar. Would never have guessed it was there! Very attentive service from reception to table.
Cons: Not easy to find though, staff dropping by the table too much to take plates and glasses. Was funny but good to see you are not understaffed!
S. M.
One of the best cocktail bars in Sydney. Staff are incredibly friendly and have choice recommendations for cocktails to try. Food is also fantastic, would recommend ordering the halloumi fries.
C. L.
Cool, funky bar with great cocktails and yummy plates to share
M. W.
Wonderfully friendly staff, went there for the mixology class and Neil definitely went above and beyond to make our class an unforgettable experience! He did everything he could to make sure we could be part of the class this weekend because it was booked out online, and was very knowledgable, personable and was just a fun person to be around. Would highly recommend the class! We also got some small bites to eat, those were also delicious.
B. W.
My only con is it can be a bit noisy but overall great bar to have a drink in!
S. J.
Nice cozy bar. The waitress was kind enough to fix us a great cocktail which wasn't on the menu. Their drinks are a little over priced but overall a great place to chill :)
J. C.
I organised a private cocktail making class for me and my colleagues. It was a great experience where we get to be behuing the bar making cocktails of all types. Neal was a great host, providing insights into how all types of cocktails are different. It was a great experience and would definitely recommend! Thanks Neal !
T. N.
Perfect little spot for drinks on any night. Love the vibes and the staff were super friendly. Side note - A bit on the pricier side and the food menu is quite limited.
G. S.
Wonderful place for drinks and snacks. Great vibes! Friendly and efficient staffs. Entrance is very discreet, could be easily missed, but fun to find!
C. G.
Didn’t know what to expect going to my first underground bar, but ended up surpassing all expectations. Bartenders Neil and Ross made the night by far, some classy banter and drinks of all kind, complemented by amazing chipotle beef tacos and the best ribeye steak I’ve ever had. Definitely a place I’ll be visiting again 👌🏻
J. H.
Had a great time here! Nick, our bartender/teacher was his first night working at the bar and he did a awesome job and entertaining, educating and making us laugh! Well worth a visit!
M. N.
Went to Stitch Bar with a couple of dear friends and my wife for my 40th. Ordering food is simple with the QR code and the waitstaff are attentive and friendly. Drinks and food were thoroughly enjoyable, particularly the classic hotdog. In normal circumstances I would give five stars, but the staff member on the door made that a bridge too far. She was unpleasant on the way into the venue and borderline disdainful on our way out. If you’re going for an early 2000s nightclub door attendant vibe, you’ve nailed it. I’m definitely not one of those blokes who has the audacity to tell women to smile (because that wasn’t the issue). The door attendant remained in her swivel chair with her feet up and made no effort to make any of us feel welcome. Again, that could be the vibe you are going for and you might want to make patrons feel as though they’re putting you out. Maybe you don’t want the public facing element of your establishment to be an open and inviting one.
It is a shame that all of the excellent, excellent work performed by everyone downstairs can be completely undermined by the (lack of) performance of a colleague. Unless (of course) the unpleasantness and aloofness was purely performative... in which case, you should really stop it with that “vibe”.
S.
Had the hot dog and waffle fries which were both really good. Big enough portion that we were able to share but not too big. All ordering is done via phone and the staff were pretty quick with bringing everything out. Suitable venue for a date as there are booths or for a group as there are bigger tables.
F. L.
I love their Malbec wine and curly fries! Just can't love digging into the fries! Great atmosphere but ye music is tad too loud.
D.
Cool decor with some interesting drinks, has a variety of food options to choose from but somewhat limited. Overall not a bad experience.
L. S.
Really awesome bar.
Have tried more than 8 different cocktails and they all were really good. Onion rings and waffle fries with truffle flavor are awesome
Definitely will come back
L. M.
Such an awesome vibe, cocktails are amazing and the service is top notch. Food? EVEN BETTER!
L.
Cool, very cool, like a better version of the Caretaker in Auckland NZ. Fantastic service. But quite pricey which shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone and they certainly earn charging the premium so with what they’ve done with the place , just won’t be a regular for me
N. C.
Had an awesome dinner here, and the cocktails were great as well
D. P.
They have a large selection of cocktails and the food was great. The location is pretty well hidden but after entering, you're greeted with a really cool atmosphere and nice staff. We'll definitely be returning!
P. E.
The bar person has great knowledge and told a good story.
M. A.
Always enjoyed coming back here, service is always the best and amazing cocktails. Little disappointed with the food, I was looking forward to the hot wings but it came out a little cold :(
M. H.
Was in Sydney for work and ended up going to Stitch on 2 separate nights. The group had multiple cocktails each time which were all great and the food hit the spot. Hot wings burger, chipotle tacos, lamb tacos, jalapeno poppers were very nice. The service was spot on too, shout out to the northern Irish guy for some comedic relief and banter throughout the night and bloody good service. Good to see this place taking COVID check-ins seriously too.
M. E.
Great food, great atmosphere and awesome cocktails! Have been to this bar twice in the last month and I can see myself going back many more - big thanks to the staff for their attention and service.
S. H.
What an amazing and hidden treasure. Great range of alcoholic beverages. Funky staff and great atmosphere with speak-easy feel. Note the singers.
A. D.
Had such a good night at Stitch Bar for Mexican night. Really attentive staff and cosy warm atmosphere. Loved the band as well!
K. B.
Incredible service, great cocktail class, nice food. Great to chat to the staff, would go back in a heartbeat. The cocktails we made were delicious and the bartender was a professional, very knowledgable.
J.
Great hidden bar, tasty food, and friendly staff. Cool atmosphere, table service
C. C.
Had a celebration drink with my friends here. Their drink menu is definitely recommended.
Food is average, but basically it is a place for catch up and drink, so i dont complain about that.
Some of my friends actually liked some options.
The interior design is cool and i recommend it for hanging with friends or dating or even a solo eat and drink.
J.
Fun vibes. Nice cocktails and other drinks. Decent range for food - lots of yummy carbs.
Good spot for groups too. If you book in advance for a group of 10-12 you can get a nice little nook/private room.
It is a bit hard to find though, you may walk past it a few times. If I remember correctly, there’s a sewing machine by the door and then you go downstairs.
I. D.
Really good experience, Jackson has a wealth of knowledge and was great fun.
N. J.
We went here because it's the only Ardbeg Embassy in Sydney but it sadly wasn't what we're were expecting. We were waiting a long time to be served even though the bar wasn't busy, and halfway through getting our whisky the barmaid said we couldn't have our drink because it had just gone midnight and she couldn't serve it neat. Really disappointing. 🙁
Y. S.
What an experience......all the people disappeared.......like a puff of a smoke! Good cocktails.....and make reservation for Friday lunch time.
A. D.
Amazing place! Really taste food in an incredible atmosphere. Loved it.
C. S.
My partner and I had a great night here very cool atmosphere, the staff are super friendly and the cocktails are the best I’ve had!
A. B.
Great bar, lovely atmosphere and fantastic service. Was a very enjoyable place to have an intimate drink and I'll certainly consider again!
T. F.
What a great experience! Tim and Daniel were amazing serving drinks. Great vibe to take some friends to for afternoon cocktails.
A. G.
such a great find. amazing wings and food and bartenders were polite and genuine.. best mocktail ever
H. P. (.
There is no clear sign outside to easily identify this place, but I loved the ambience. The curly fries were awesome and I tried the pulled jackfruit tacos for the first time and was a bit disappointed. It was more because I was not ready to appreciate it for what it was and was trying to compare it to the flavours of pulled pork. They are very different
A. F.
I went because I was craving hot dogs went there and they delivered. It was tasty and decent size.
Highly recommended.
Didn't try their cocktails but they have a diversified selection.
Nice atmosphere and excellent service.
A. C.
Crowded, congusted but lovely staff...
C. S.
Had a falafel burger tonight! It was an amazing burger and to top it off the service Tim displayed was absolutely phenomenal. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience thanks to Tim and the Burger.
A. G.
Great place been there plenty, always good.
R. W.
We found this spot as we were walking past on the way for dinner. We were intrigued by the sewing machine at the door so decided to pop in as we had some time.
It's not huge and there was a lot of reserved tables so we were lucky to grab a couple of seats. Drinks were nice and service was good. The food menu also sounded nice and reasonably priced, if we weren't heading for dinner we may have eaten there.
A. I.
Had my girls book a cocktail class here for my bachelorette party. We had Ross as our bartender who taught us a lot of unique cocktails and is an amazing bartender. We had the best time. Thank you Ross.
N. C.
Very cool tucked away entrance off the street, just by the sewing machines. Nice vibe and huge selection of food and drinks. Prices a solid notch out of the wallet but worth it. Only complaint was that it's a little warm inside.
C. P.
Quaint and cozy whisky bar, good for a more intimate night. Visited on a Saturday night and it wasn't overcrowded, with enough people around so it didn't feel empty. Service was good and bartenders/waitresses are very sociable, easy to have a conversation with and happy to recommend their favourite whisky. Will stop by again👍👍👍
M. N.
One of my favourite places to eat and drink. Really love the mac and cheese balls with bourbon jam. That and the service is what I keep coming back for. (2016)
Update: I love Stitch but man! You need some ventilation! It's SO HOT down there! Also, service isn't as good as it used to be. (2021)
A. Y.
Love the dark environment. Food is good and friendly service.
C.
Best pina colada cocktail ever! Staff were super friendly and accommodating when we had a booking and were running late. The halloumi chips were soo delicious!
E. C.
Went here at lunchtime. Not too busy and staff were friendly, although there was a mess up on the order for two of the people in our party. The beers are really unique but the food was pretty average. The burger was very skimpy on toppings and does not come with fries. I would not recommend as a food place, but worth checking out for drinks.
C. L.
The entrance is easy to miss so look out for all the sewing machines and walk in despite your better judgement. Be prepared for a steep set of stairs to get down to it too.
The drinks are great, and the bartenders know their stuff and are more than happy to discuss when it’s not too busy. Lots of seating unless it’s prime time for drinks. The food is tasty, but definitely not for anyone who’s gluten intolerant.
All, plan your trip to the look ahead of time as there’s only one per floor and the line tends to grow as the night goes on.
H. C.
Cool atmosphere and table service.
Bartenders and waitresses are very sociable.
Great range of alcoholic beverages as well.
Would be happy to recommend their signature whiskey.
Will stop by again.
J. C.
Looks like a cool little bar but unfortunately the staff and food is lacking. Too bad cuz it’s a cool spot. bartenders/staff are friendly but seem to hang amongst themselves away from bar unless you flag them down.
If this place had staff with some skin in the game I think it’d make a huge difference. could be a bustling place if it was run better. 🤷♂️
S. K.
If you didn't know this place was here, you would just walk past it. When you go down the stairs, we were greeted and shown to a table. It was dark and cosy and perfect for a date night. The food was good the cocktails are delicious and the atmosphere couldn't be faulted
K. l.
Great hidden away bar which you'd probably walk by without noticing.
Look out for the bouncer near the entrance. The drinks are done creatively and puts together different flavours you never thought would work out well.
Service are friendly and are attentive.
I've order the tacos for three. And it was the best choice. Cheaper then el loco and is made much better than them.
Has a warm vibe and would be well received if you took a date here.
Make sure you book cause it does get crowded on the weekends.
Y. D.
Great atmosphere, excellent decor and amazing staff are what makes this place. The whiskey selection is huge and great quality. The staff offered expert advice on what to choose and where each whiskey originated. We also had dinner here, which was satisfying, but the drinks and vibe are the standout reasons to visit. Music is excellent too, retro American classics! Will be back for drinks again in future
K.
This bar is really funky. Dimly lit and really intimate. The service was really good, they were fun and really personable. Happy to accommodate.
Food was delicious. Had a burger. Good variety of drinks. Not a bad whisky range.
Have now been a few times and will continue to visit.

Great atmosphere and a well stocked bar. Food was delicious, especially the mac n cheese balls and the jalapeno poppers. Will definitely be back!
A. S.
Had a great time on the Wednesday evening. Nice corn on the cob. The walls are too good. The entrance with stitching machine is nice. Over all the theme is maintained related to Stitching. I guess my mom would love if I get her here.
Overall awesome
J.
We had a great time there. Ambient lighting and wonderful customer service. The range of cocktails could be a lot better. Most of them were bitter and /or sour.
I'll definitely be back again
M. R.
Received a Groupon for a 3-course meal as a present and was definitely not disappointed at all. The service here was 10/10 and the food from start to finish was lovely! I would recommend getting the fish of the day, all the flavours worked well together and it was cooked to perfection.
J. A.
Wonderful little bar with fantastic tasting cocktails, food and excellent service. Would highly recommend!
S. S.
Fabulously friendly and accommodating staff, great vibe, decent drinks menu. A hidden gem.
B. F.
Great bar and delicious cocktails warm environment good people there and you will enjoy spending time there
A.
Great little city bar set underground. Superb cocktails and excellent food. A little pricey but typical of Sydney City prices. Service can be a little slow and rarely any space on Fridays so make a booking if you want to guarantee a table
E. O.
The customer service was excellent, the drinks were good and the bar itself was very interesting. The famous curly fries were good but a bit too crispy for my liking and it seemed to get quite warm/hot where we were sitting despite it being not crowded at all (a Thursday night).
R. D.
Very cool atmosphere and vibes, great decorations and setting: the basement and the dark lights really give the hidden and secret feeling! The staff is very friendly and the food was tasty and authentic: I tried tacos...and they were really spicy! Definitely a place to go in Sydney
A. T.
Very nice bar, with friendly and caring staff as well as great drinks and food options!
Location is also cool, with underground interiors, great lighting and cool music.
A great stop for every occasion.
R. M.
Great small bar with friendly staff and some amazing cocktails. Foods quite decent as well. It's a damn solid 5.
So why am I rating it a 4? They turn the music up to 11 so you can't hear yourself think, let alone carry on a conversation.
A. B.
It's a hidden gem in Sydney's CBD. Once you walk through the small door, a whole new world opens in front of your eyes!
The place is amazing and you can choose from a range of seats: the regular tables, a smaller and almost private room, or the bar itself.
Decoration is good and so is the background music, with a decent volume that allows you to both identify the songs and to talk to your mates.
As a beer drinker, there were a few options, but all nicely choosen. When it comes to whiskeys and cocktails, then you have a HUGE range!
The sweet potatoes wedges were tasty and made me happy. :)
Last, but not least, service is great. We have interacted with quite a few people and felt very welcome there, but I must highlight that Gabriela was especially friendly!
E. T.
Went there to have lunch - was quite amazed to see the interiors, old sewing machines, patterns on the walls.
Got one of their burgers - quite nice! - served with their specialty curly fries (a bit spicy too).
They say there are some nice cocktails there too - should check them out one day too :-)
S. W.
Had a lovely time at Stitch, Tim and Ross were great bar tenders. Had a great chat with them would highly recommend, will be back!
T. G.
The ambience is really good. Loved the food at the earlier visit which was a farewell of a colleague. If you haven't search for it or know it beforehand, chances are you would walk pass without even noticing it. Overall very good place to hang out with mates. Going again for lunch, would update based on the experience.
C. B.
We did the cocktail making class tonight for a friend’s birthday, it was well above expectations. Such good value for money, shout out to Jaco who made it really fun from start to finish
S. F.
I love it, the drinks and snaks are very good and Madam O reading was beyond my expectations, she is really good.
E. M.
Ross the Venue Manager is quick, competent and funny. Meals were solid, but the drinks were the real MVP. Massive selection with great individual prep for an American Style drink selection. Order a Manhattan
D. O.
Awesome food and great service. The fried chicken was crispy and succulent, perfect with a cold beer. They introduced us well into the world of less commercialized American Whisky. Love that they are an ambassador for Ardbeg.
E. G.
Tim and Ross looked after us tonight, they are very experienced in cocktail making, would highly recommend this beautiful bar!
A. L.
Great little underground bar and restaurant, with a low key 1950's/ hipster kinda atmosphere. Alcohol is great by serving cocktails to normal spirits and beers. The food menu is great aswell with burgers, ribs and sides, I'd recommend bringing friends and all grabbing a burger while you drink.
R. W.
Cosy little whisky bar, exceptional staff and great choice of (mainly American) whisky. Didn't order any food the food being served around us looked and smelled delicious. Love the subtlety of the entrance.
L. C.
Nice little bar that has a bit of a confusing entrance (just go down the stairs). Had the pulled lamb burger and the waitress recommended a nice Pacific ale that paired well. It was pretty quiet for a weekday lunch time in the city.
E. G.
My fave little bar in the city. Great service. Really good curly fries with the burgers. The sewing machine theme is great. Need to get in early though because it is very popular, alternatively call up beforehand and book at table.
N. H.
Brilliant reading with Madam O Tarot. Loved the Whisky room.
Pretty cool for a Monday night out.
K. n.
Efficient, fast table service, tasty cocktails, bartender created one for me when I didn't fancy anything on the menu. Food expensive but typical for underground speakeasy type bar. Had halloumi fries - tasty but bbq sauce was spicy so not my cup of tea. Mac and cheese balls are delicious but sweet potato fries were overdone. Quite a few foods had a spicy vibe according to menu so good if you like that. Went midweek at 6pm with 6 friends, quiet enough to get booth at this time. Music quite loud but again, typical of this type of place.
M. G.
Great feel and layout make it great for couples or small groups. Great selection of food and drinks to be had. The sides didnt live up to billing but the mains more than made up for this. Some of the best cocktails to be had in sydney can be found here. Great selection of spirits beers and wines
h. m.
This is very solid sushi. It's not super clear what plates of the train cost, but I left satisfied and not paying any more than expected. Wish they had booze, but otherwise it's lovely. + Is lobster, salmon, rolls. - Is a lack of description and obvious pricing. Recommend.
M. A.
Enjoyed the ambience and the food was great! The guy who served us was chilled out as well. Overall, loved it!
S. V.
Loved it! Had a great time, very courteous and friendly staff. Everything was delicious..
A. W.
Great food, great spot!
N. A.
Cool speakeasy atmosphere, wonderful music selection, and an awesome choice of booze, from single malt Scotch, through niche rye whiskey, plenty of cocktails and a few good craft brews.
It wouldn't be fair if I didn't mention the food. Dogs, burgers, wings, ribs - any possible way to get messy that you can think of - they got it! And it tastes damn good.
A. S.
Really nice people, cute little inner city small bar. The whole place has a sewing theme, the tables are converted seeing tables - which is cute but you can smash your feet a bit. Would probs be a good place to go on a first date - pretty intimate and but still interesting.
a. b.
Really nice somewhat hidden cocktail bar. They are an official ambassador of Ardbeg, so they have the full selection of scotch from that distillery (and some great drinks made with Ardbeg 10), a great place to go if you love your islay whiskey.
Q. L.
Excellent selection of cocktails. My favourite is the Fool's Gold.
This bar is well hidden in the basement, away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD.
One of the things that they may inprove on is the time it takes to prepare the cocktails. They were worth the wait, though.
J.
Nice small bar, could be really packed.
Had drinks and lunch here. The BLT burger is pretty good.
Loved the cocktails. They have curly fries!
Nice place to catch up with friends
D. V.
Stitch bar was the location for a friend's farewell party. From the outside there was no telling what the place was. Greeted by security we walked into a scantily lit room filled with old school stitching machines. The decor was great, modern and completely different. The bar was downstairs accompanied with many seating arrangements which was nice as it could serve as both a friendly social spot or a venue for a romantic night out. The drinks served were prompt and quiet good and reasonably priced. If a fault had to be picked, the bar doesn't have many vegetarian food alternatives and going on a friday or Saturday night, it was completely packed to a point where it started to feel quite suffocating. However it is a bar, i would recommend with a heart beat and is completely new and unique.
A. N.
Good vibe, love the hot dogs and the steak is insanely good! Very underrated! Love the cocktails and i love how intimate it feels! Get there, awesome place!
D. Z.
Honestly, an amazing place. Great vibe with an amazing atmosphere. Really enjoyed the drinks I had!
Edit: Forgot to mention that I've been there multiple times.
J. E.
I love this place. It's nicely hidden so people don't know it's there. They have an interesting beer selection, and if that in its own right isn't enough to get you there the food is great; fantastic upmarket hot dogs and burgers. The underground location makes for a nice dark place and that with the decor gives it a good vibe.
J. S.
Beautiful venue amazing bartenders and staff, with great knowledge, was also open on a Monday night ! Was a pleasure and will surely be back again soon
J. M.
One of the orignals of the York Street district underground (hidden) bars. Find your way to the front window filled with sewing machines, push through the doors and head down the stairs.
Great cocktails and food here with american hot dogs and such available. Be warned that with new laws you will be served in plastic after a certain time of night.
J. N.
I loved the cocktails and the food. This place has a bustle about it that is really welcoming. We felt everything was spot on. Make sure you have the cocktail with the coconut ice cream....woah! So good.
N. H.
Oh my gosh, those bun free burgers are amazing 😋 very jucy and delicious meat, great sauce and you will definitely not miss the bun. I stuffed my burger with 2 thick onion rings, but didn’t really need to. I had known the place for great whiskey and pork fries but I’d definitely come back for a burger and those onion rings!!
P. S.
Great venue, nice cocktails, friendly quick service
A. K.
Stitch bar is one of those vaguely hidden bars in Sydney that you walk past unless you know it's there. I did walk past Stitch Bar, a few times, before I realised what I was looking at. You want to look for a small storefront with wall-to-ceiling sewing machines and a set of wooden swing doors. You'll immediately go down stairs to go to Stitch Bar proper.
Overall I had a good experience, though a few things stood out. The woman who was our waitress requested a card before she took our order - which is a bit odd for table service, though my friend who went with me and went more frequently said she wouldn't be surprised if in the past they had a number of people walking out without paying, as the bathroom is up a floor and has a separate exit.
We ordered their house red, which was quite good. My friend got their burger, which she enjoyed. I on the other hand, went for the downtown ribs, which were quite mediocre. They were rack of lamb ribs and a little fatty with not enough meat, and additionally, the sauce was watery and tasted strongly of citrus. Not what I expected, nor really very enjoyable. I'd have true barbecue ribs done well any day over the kind of 'American fusion' they were doing with those ribs. For a main it wasn't bad, at $18, though the meal was disappointing. The service, again, for table service, was a bit scattered and slow, though I think our waitress was new.
I'd go back, but I'd definitely order something else.
D. T.
Very quick and friendly service. They think fast and on their feet to be accommodating. The hot wings are indeed hot
The curly fries are curly and delicious.
D. B.
We were 15 people going there for a Friday lunch. The food was really decent, but it took about half an hour to be served. There wasn't enough napkins on the tables and when we asked for some, the waitress said she would bring some but she never did!
s. s.
Stitch has lost some of it's shine over the years but they still do a mostly decent cocktail . Improving the quality of their offerings and overall service would go a long way to reclaiming past glories in order to keep up with the influx of trendy new bars across Sydney .
L. R.
Really cool hidden bar right next to Wynyard. Great decor and atmosphere, great food, decent cocktails. The waiters are a little too pushy with getting us to order more drinks and food. When I ask you for a recommendation i want your honest opinion, it's not me presenting myself as an open wallet.
S. F.
Upscale smaller bar. Drinks are pretty good but standing room is limited and you'll need to push to get to the bar. Mostly filled with after work office people, so come at an unconventional time for better experience.
E. D.
The entrance into Stitches bar is through a room full of Singer sewing machines and down a flight of stairs into the basement bar. I went there on a weeknight and it has a pretty good vibe. There are lots of little alcoves that give you the chance to have your own space and it is not so loud that you can't hear eachother talk. Great cocktails and loved the curly fries.
S. C.
Great small bar - seek and ye shall find! Just look for the tiny lobby with the sewing machines and head downstairs where it's cute, cosy and dark with sewing patterns on the wall. Wine list is extensive with lots of choice and American Diner style food is pretty good too. You must try the curly fries! It's pretty compact inside so can get pretty packed and pretty noisy too!
C. S.
This hidden underground bar is a regular fave for after-work drinks in the city. Cocktails are inventive and the bartenders are happy to engage with guests. Decent whisky selection too :)
The vibe is loud, bustling & dimly lit - in a good way. The Americana inspired food menu boasts some seriously good curly fries and hotdogs.
T. W.
Gorgeous dark basement speakeasy in the heart of the CBD. Barely noticeable from the street apart from a vintage sewing machine at the door, you descend to a hidden den of booths, intimate tables and corners, spilling out from the main bar that greets you on arrival. Fantastic cocktail menu, and a knowledgeable bar staff can custom blend to your request. 20 & 30 something crowd, casual glam.
A. T.
past the old singer machines and down the stairs to be greeted by friendly staff who know what they are talking about with their cocktails. what more could you need!
loved the american style food and atmosphere :)
S. M.
You could quite literally walk past this place and not know it existed. Luckily for me - my friends knew where we were going!!! :-)
A vintage American saloon styled underground bar with an extensive cocktail and scotch list. Not the type of bar for cheap drinks but if you're looking to try a few quality cocktails - then this is definitely the place to pop into.
A. A.
A nice place, great vibe and food was really tasty. Staff were pretty friendly. Entrance isnt obvious, almost missed it but for the sounds and google maps, but the entrance itself is a cool wall of sewing machines and old Shutters.
K.
Great service, delicious drinks and easy way to order/pay with table QR code.
K. Q.
Another gem in the growing Sydney small bar scene. I love the table service and getting tap water without having to ask. Of the cocktails that we tried the Pineapple Head was my favourite, you'll like it if you like pineapple and mojitos. The Ginger Collins on the other hand wasn't rated very highly by our group, it just tasted a lot like soda. On previous visits I've tried their Mack Ducky Dog which I can highly recommend, especially as it comes with curly fries. And who doesn't like curly fries?!
S. 0.
Great selection of cocktails, super friendly staff.
Cheese Burger was very good.
J. W.
Great cocktails and food. But be prepared for terrible, unfriendly service. A bit of a disappointment for what could be such a great, hidden bar.
L. N.
Awesome bar with excellent service. Made my friends birthday run flawlessly
N. F.
Nicely presented cocktails 🍹 if not a bit weak. Cosy and underground. Very american menu of fried pickles and not-super-tasty mac n cheese balls. Squid was also quite bland. Go for drinks not food.
E. L.
Good hidden cocktail bar off the York CBD main drag... nice underground space, decent food, well made drinks. If you book, you can get a great private cubby space or large table for biggest parties.
K. S.
Local hangout for the office crowd. Veggie burger is delicious, and the portions are generous without being stupid.
The curley fries are tasty and they have a nice wine list by the glass which is rare in the city!
The cocktails are apparently good, but as normal i wasn't impressed. Too much sugar syrup in them. As I always say though, i'm REALLY fussy about my cocktails so you probably shouldn't listen to me.
Lovely vibe in the place, its dark, cosy without being cloying and they have a couple of small separate room that would suit 6-10 people groups.
Outstanding point: Arbeg whisky. Mmmmmmm
Chairs: 8/10. Some of them are wobbly but the booths are Very Comfy.
Noise 7/10: Its gets noisy around the tables, but the booths are ok.
Atmosphere: 9/10: its tucked away so it is private
Staff 10/10: always good service here. they keep your water topped up and are prompt with the bill and cleaning up.
T. &. T.
This bar is unassuming, if you're not looking for it you will miss it. But its one if Sydney's best "small bars" and located downstairs in a basement with all walls adorned with sewing machines and filled with people after work. If you're lucky enough to get a table, order the BLT burger with curly fries, it is amazing!
J. L.
My experiences weren't as nice as any others! I went 3 times on Friday/ Saturday nights and it was very stinky upon entering the steps to go down, it's a 'scent' of strong mixed of food and sweat! Crowded with noise and loud music nobody can hear anybody so we couldn't chat! Our food wasn't nice either but drinks were ! The bouncers are very friendly too!
J. Y.
Cutest bar in town, although a tad too dark! It's never too busy so we can almost always find a seat!
Will continue going back for their delicious cocktails.
N. P.
A well designed 20 style bar, a bit noisy on Saturdays but still worth going for a meal. Tortilla stack was really good, fried pickles were delicious and BLT burger was heavenly.
C. T.
Cute place, hidden behind a shop front of old Singer sewing machines, which makes it fun to try and find. Best to reserve a spot if there's a few of you. Went with 8 people on Friday night and, while there was table service, it sometimes took 20 mins to get the drink ordered.
b. w.
Odd location. Enter down the stairs and you come face to face with the bar. Hard to get a seat; and the food is average. I think they stopped serving the quaint buddha/lucky beers. There are more interesting places. I really don't rate this.
J. M.
Was able to get some nice bourbon (four roses) and pulled pork tacos, not disappointed! Wasn't expecting to see some of the small batch American whiskeys, worth the visit if you're a little homesick.
C. W.
I have a love hate relationship with Stitch Bar. I love the wine list, and I love the beef and bacon burger and a few of the hot dogs (not all in the same evening). I hate that it is so hard to get a seat, and sometimes that will put me off going if I haven't made a reservation. There's so little room at the bar that if you're not sitting, you're in the way. But make a reservation, and you're in for a good night.
S. L.
Amazing food (try the mack ducky dog and the carnitas tacos) and great vibe, one of my favourite places. Plus it got even better now that they serve late night food - great burgers and their famous curly fries until 1am (regular menu until 10pm)
R. A.
Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, excellent food and cocktails. Love this place!
H. C.
Great food, little loud. You will definitely need to book!
P. W.
Great bar, good drinks, getting g a spot will be your biggest challenge!
T. K.
Nice atmosphere, great service.
Not too much seating which is both a positive and a negative.
Shared toilets with office block above, unfortunately there's not enough for the patrons once the seal has broken
R. V.
Lovely location for a glass of beer. Affordable prices and good size portioned meals. Charming service and a gorgeous, relaxed environment.
D. B.
Very lovely place, good music and adorable staff. Can't wait to be back,
S. N.
They make great cocktails and customer service is quite good. It gets packed on Friday nights. It's slightly hidden away but nice and cosy. It is also reasonably close to public transport.
S. P.
If you can find it (the entrance only shows some sewing machines and a taylor's dummy and a bouncer on Saturday nights) this is a great bar/restaurant. American diner style food which at times can be spicy. If you're into coktails they have a large choice along with plenty of different wines and some different beers. Definitely worth a visit!
R. N.
Very Cosy and nice Place, a bit hard to find though but worth the trouble, enjoyed the encyclopaedia as wall paper, Fried chicken and Smoke Rocket ( Chilli Cocktail). Very charming atmosphere and friendly staff.
T. P.
Lovely cosy little bar hidden away in the Sydney CBD. If you blink you'll miss it.
This bar is hidden downstairs and serves great food; the beef skirt tacos were juicy and delicious and the cheese were the perfect of greasy and rich.
Cocktail selection is diverse, you won't be disappointed.
G. S.
We had such a great date night. Service and atmosphere were amazing, we can't wait to come back with our friends
R. v. d. B.
If you're scared of sewing machines, this isn't the place for you. However, if you like saloon doors, cocktails and dimly lit booths, you're heading for a good night out.
M. W.
You'll love the hot dogs here! Hidden in a basement, its a sneaky entrance with a hardly visible sign saying stitch, you walk in the door and down the stairs to a completely different world. This dimly lit basement bar is decorated with walls of vintage sewing machines, with wonderful alcoholic concoctions to match, and an amazing selection of hotdogs! Great for friends to meetup and have a casual meal!
S. A.
Tim and Ross are the best!! Great drinks but the staff made the night, will definitely be back.
J. S.
Another great bar. Excellent whiskey selection. Great staff that know what they’re on about. Come her and and enjoy
F. H.
Great bar, friendly staff, yum food. Overall experience let down by toilets which were really putrid (Wed night 7pm.)
P.
Awesome cocktail class experience! Fun and interesting. Had to come back for more fantastic drinks
e.
love the decor and how on brand it is. clever, cute, and killer cocktails!
P. O.
Just come here. Fantastic cocktails on offer and the layout is great. Staff are super friendly. Drinks aren't cheap but they are quality.
A.
Good fun! Tasty food. Great cocktails! Food came out kinda slow but thats probably because it was a busy saturday night. We will be back.
L. C.
Love this bar. Good food and bartenders who know their way around a classic cocktail. Music is always great too.
N. W.
Surprised with the cocktail masterclass as a birthday present, the drinks were amazing and Ross was a brilliant host
D.
Waited half an hour for drinks. Come on, man!
I. M.
Absolutely love this place, this is the best place to get curly fries in the city without being judged for dressing a little bit too much like a hipster. Such an amazing find, close to everywhere you'd want to go after. Busy on fridays and saturdays- a booking is almost essencial.
B. K.
Awesome vibe, tasty cocktails. Didnt get to try the food sadly as i was too late but will be back to try a burger and score it! Ordered an aviation which was one of the better aviations ive had in sydney.
P. L.
Hidden underground bar in the heart of the city. Very popular on a Friday night so get in early. Whilst the food menu is quite limited their hotdogs are quite tasty but not as good as their cocktails! Drinks are on the pricier side but do use premium spirits. Conveniently located opposite Wynyard station.
M. M.
great small bar, has the perplexing entry, the tardis like room proportions, and great drinks. Also has sociable staff, plenty of space to sit and friendly patrons, so it's one of my favourites!
J. B.
Great mix of cocktails (pun-intended) on the menu. Good ambience for an intimate date, or a relaxed after dinner drinks with friends.
N. S.
Hard to find..I almost walked past it twice! There is a teeny weeny sign somewhere that tells you it's Stitch bar, and you know then, that you are not walking down an abandoned tailor shop, but to a very trendy small bar. There are vintage Singer sewing machines outside the entrance window and as you make your way down. It's all very cute and sets the tone for the place.. The cocktails are interesting enough but not spectacular... There are quiet a few small bars in Sydney that have revolutionised the cocktail scene, but I wouldn't count Stitch in one of them.. Having said that the place does do some seriously good fries, whether it's the hand cut version thick variety or the curly fries... They are all great and so are the burgers and gourmet hot dogs! It's a fun place to hang out after work to down a few drinks and eat a few fries!
N.
A little hidden bar that’s always busy but you can try and squeeze in. It’s worth it. Great funky cocktails and their Mac and Cheese balls are a must😊
D. M.
Awesome little bar/restuarant with a great atmosphere styled in all things sewing! Had the burger while we were there which was pretty good. Beers were decent too.
R. H.
American style food, which was very good. Drink selection is excellent. Cocktails looked good. Great place for an afterwork drink or midweek date.
L. D.
Stitch Bar is one of those awesome funky bars which you would stroll right past because you wouldn't know it was there. The entrance is inconspicuous, which leads you down some dark stairs. As you get closer to the bar you hear how the bar is packed full of people, but you can't see anyone. The bar serves hotdogs and burgers which are alright but they don't really punch you in the face.
A. L.
What an awesome hidden gem in Sydney! Underneath a flip out door and a wall of singer sewing machines is a really chill dark bar. We sat inside the jail cell where we had good food and drinks.
J. N.
Good services. Food and side dishes are decent. Beer and cocktail abit lack of flavors.
J. C.
Hidden gem 💎 the staff was amazing. At first I walked by it and couldn't find it, but once I found it. It was an amazing experience. The vibe is so lively and makes for a great first stop for a night out. 🍻
S. G.
How can you go wrong with a delish bar menu and decent wine list? The chips and tacos definitely hit the spot after a few drinks. Fab atmosphere too!
B. J.
Yes! I was in the right place. The entrance is covered by sewing machines....
It is not a grand place. Actually, it is quite small. Tables are standard size, however we decided to sit at the booths.
This booth we happen to choose was the smallest one.... actually it was just one half.. but still comfortable.
Drinks.. you cannot fault them. Nicely made, nicely presented and fast service.
Food.. it is the typical salads and burfers, tacos and the like. Small selection but.... each with a twist.
I had the lamb burger.... Lisa the duck hot dog.... yes, yoi read correctly... duck.
Both served with sogy curly fries. Likely I asked for mine to be well done, so they turned out to be perrrrfect. However they were dusted... or more like burried.... in this chilli seassoning. As a result... I could not really taste the Lamb.
Dont get me wrong, it was nice, andthe Manager, Lee, was responsive, suggestive on options, aand accomodating.
I will be back
L. A.
Not obvious to find but the burly chap on the door was a good giveaway. Decent snacks and drinks; atmosphere not quite to my taste but I can see its appeal to a younger crowd
n. l.
Sewing machines is the first thing you will realise in this establishment, a small bar - yes. But nonetheless the people are lining up for it for a feed, amazing curly fries with paprika seasoning (can never get enough of paprika) burgers, hotdogs, whichever you prefer. Great place to chill and relax, cosy and bartenders are extremely nice and good conversation starters to keep you feeling welcome
Y. C.
My favourite place in Sydney! I am a hobby dressmaker and just love the sewing machines decor and the atmosphere. The staff is very welcoming, the wine list is huge! What else can a dressmaker wish for!!
R. C.
Great staff and atmosphere. Enjoyed the food and excellent cocktails
D. N.
One of the top cocktail bars in Sydney's now burgeoning cocktail scene. The drinks are consistently excellent and the food is a cool, but unusual twist on standard bar fare (for example foie-gras hot dogs). As with many of the top bars in Sydney, expect a line unless you're visiting very early, or mid-week.
R. M.
Trendy bar that specialises in whiskey. Very hipster. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. In addition to a good drinks menu, food is also available.
P. B.
Good cocktails, especially the Ardbeg ones, but unfortunately a bit expensive for what the venue offers. Good food. The Kentucky Pork Neck is great!
A. O.
Interesting place with some really cool wall artwork. Definitely has some character. Fills up quickly so grabbing a seat can be a challenge, but atmosphere makes it worth it!
S. B.
Fantastic little underground bar with AMAZING food and drinks menu.
Stitch bar will not disappoint.
J. W.
Good drinks cool vibes
d. v.
A lady and a guy served us. The lady was terrible, pushing us to pay as soon as possible, even after placing a wrong order. The guy did a perfect job, asking if we were ok and trying to solve the lady's mistakes constantly!
R.
It's a great place. The food is delicious, prices are reasonable, the service is excellent and friendly, the atmosphere is great. What else could you want? Highly recommend.
K. C.
Great vibe. Fun little place. Bit loud for first dates but great for a date night or after work drinks. Staff were super attentive even though they were busy!
Y. C.
The atmosphere is great and the food is awesome. There was a hefty price bump a while ago, the BLT burger got more expensive and no longer comes with fries, and the drinks are ridiculously pricey. Overall it's great for a night out.
S. O.
Really like Stitch Bar for the drinks and service. Not 100% crazy about the food. The tacos are a little bland and the totchos aren't really my thing either. Anxious to try a burger, hoping those change my perspective a little, but the place itself, the people and the drinks are top notch.
G.
Drinks are real unique and special, seems like a secret bar at first because of the location and atmosphere.
S. R.
Good Atmosphere. Friendly bar staff. Drinks were spot on
J. L.
Cocktails weren’t as delicious compared to some of the other nearby bars. But friendly service and original decor.
D. W.
Stitch is a nice place however it will get quite busy on the weekends like all other bars. The cocktails are excellent.
J. G.
The burgers are to die for, and the bar staff are master cocktail makers. If you can afford it, than I would highly recommend a trip with friends or a loved-one.
A. S.
Good cocktails, great atmosphere and good bar staff. Cocktails average price but good for what you pay.
N. K.
Great burgers, really cool place to hang out for a drink if you have any interest in fashion!!
Watch out for the sewing machine placed at the door-step (and go down the stairs) cause this place is very easy to miss.
L. M.
Really nice environment.. Looks like the XVIII century... Stuff very kind.. Good food and wine.. Little pity.. The food prices.. A little bit high compared to the small portions
R. S.
One of the best bars in Sydney. Great beer (Doss blockos!) and food (BLT burger and fries). Good service too and awesome cocktails!
G. R.
My go to cocktail bar near Wynyard. Their burgers are greasy and messy but it's somehow 100% what I need every time I go. Great drinks too
T. K.
Lovely staff, but the food and drinks weren't anything particularly special. The themed decor still leaves the place really open looking, so you can see and discover all the place has to offer in a few seconds.
Try next door at Mings!
B. M.
Stitch brings a little bit of Melbourne's bar scene to Sydney. I like that Stitch is a little bit out of the way, it's dark and dingy in a good way and overall the vibe is pretty good. Go early or get ready for the usual crowded waiting game for a table.
P. D.
Loved the place. Worth a visit if you like cocktails. Good food options as well.
M. F.
Great Little bar, literally hole in the wall place. Great cocktails - little pricey however very interesting and original for the most part.
G. H.
Love this place, great atmosphere
A. B.
Atmosphere is nice. Drinks were ok. More detailed information about the drinks would be better.
M. P.
Awesome selection of whisky and bourbon (and every thing else) with knowledgeable bar staff and good music. Not too crowded either, but clearly a popular place
A. D.
Cozy place downstairs, great range of spirits... look elsewhere if you're looking for a big range of beers to match the range of spirits, but some good ones none the less.
T. H.
This place is so hard to find but it’s well worth it once you do, they have a great selection of cocktails and a awesome chilled out vibe they also serve great hot food, like burgers which are so tasty and hot chips after midnight, so good before you go home!!!
M. G.
I really like this bar. Good service and a great ambience!
B.
Nice cocktails and some awesome food. Was fairly hot inside so could do with a bit of air con but all in all recommended.
D. J.
No longer get fries included, and last time our burgers were badly burnt.
Table service is good, and a nice whisky selection.
T. B.
Got Served by the bartender Tim, he treated us with such a fun and enthusiastic attitude! Will be coming back again
K. L.
Lovely small bar in the heart of the CBD with a great selection of wines and whisky. Burgers all night long. Can't ask for more.
D. R.
Outstanding service, great ambience and really enjoyed the drinks!
O. S.
Great atmosphere. I would love it if they sold some mainstream beers along with the craft variety however this is not the look they are going for.
C. A.
The staff were beyond amazing and helpful. The drinks were delicious and easily my favourite stop of the night
M. S.
Good food at great prices. The whisky selection is good too. What is there not to like
M. S.
Pretty sweet and laid back place. Really cool vibe.
The curly fries were awesome just as everyone else is saying but the burger was a let down for the price.
A. C.
Awesome cocktail list, cosy but not too crowded. Overall enjoyed my first visit there.
H. F.
As you walk down York Street, look out for the door propped open by a vintage sewing machine and make your way down the stairs to the semi-hidden den that is Stitch. With sewing machines, sewing machine tables and cosy nooks, it's a cute but funky space to spend a couple of hours. The cocktail list is the main draw here, with quirky, tasty cocktails including the Beetlejuice, with beetroot, gin and ginger beer, along with the classics. If you're hungry, try the hot dogs, including duck with fois gras, all served with hot chips, perfect for soaking up the cocktails.
V.
Great place hidden away downstairs. Great cocktails, food and service. Annoying that they out a surcharge on credit cards though.
P. G.
It's a laid back place to hang out with friends. No dress code restrictions and easy to get a place to sit. Good selection of beer and cocktails.
M. H.
Really cool bar that is decked out well. Expect to wait awhile for a table though. Food is worth it in the end. Have a drink early here and leave to where the D floor is.
M. B.
The staff is totally amazing , particularly the beautiful french waitress . She will host you like a prince/princess !
Always smiling, always chic.
She will make you dream for years and years
C. C.
Great service, cocktails were fantastic food was good would definitely come back
I. K.
I've heard all my friends rave about this: and it did not disappoint. Apart from meeting the most nicest bouncer ever, the bar food was quite extensive and the cocktails were delicious!
A. H.
Great little underground bar with American theme
A. C.
American themed food, decent selection at the bar, and friendly staff. Went for after work drinks and enjoyed it. Was very stuffy though - very damp on a hot day, no air flow whatsoever so consider the weather on the day if you aren't good with humidity.
N. G.
Stitch bar never disappoints with its incredible cocktails, sassy service and quirky decor. One of my favourite small bars in the city
K. K.
One of those places you'd never find unless you know it's there! Excellent atmosphere and choice of cocktails, definitely try the burgers and Mexican food they serve.
D. H.
Cool atmosphere and professional service. The bun for the hot dog was one of the best pieces of bread I've had for a hot dog!
Hat off!
V. V.
Great food and delicious cocktails. Came here on a Saturday night and it was quite loud, but still a good atmosphere.
G. G.
Great burgers, open late for a mid night snack.
Interesting selection of whiskey, bourbon, rum and more.
K. R.
Service was sparse and not terribly friendly. Food mostly fried. Had only one drink because no one came back to ask us.
A. T.
Hey, how ya going? This place is a good little pocket that you find $20 in you forgot about. Perfect for an hour lunch break and to secret to be packed during the week.
A. K.
Very good drinks. The bartenders pay attention and make drinks really well. Had the Vieux Carre there, just awesome.
G. H.
Great American food with a variety of drinks to combine with. Quaint and lively dining/drinking scene with cellar rooms and comfy sofas!
J. A.
Cozy atmosphere, great burgers and drinks
A. C.
Great cocktails in nice underground setting. Certainly a great escape from the city noise.
C. T.
Cute place, hidden behind a shop front of old Singer sewing machines, which makes it fun to try and find. Best to reserve a spot if there's a few of you. Went with 8 people on Friday night and, while there was table service, it sometimes took 20 mins to get the drink ordered.
F. L.
Food could be less fried & more tasty. Goid cocktails.
D. W.
Wonderful service and very knowledgeable staff. The place is quite cozy but my girlfriend's and I had a great time :)
B. M.
Stitch brings a little bit of Melbourne's bar scene to Sydney. I like that Stitch is a little bit out of the way, it's dark and dingy in a good way and overall the vibe is pretty good. Go early or get ready for the usual crowded waiting game for a table.
K. C.
Great vibe. Fun little place. Bit loud for first dates but great for a date night or after work drinks. Staff were super attentive even though they were busy!
W. D.
Nice hidden bar, look out for the sewing machine. Great service and great whiskey selection. Will be back.
B. P.
Awesome giant stack of vintage sewing machines lining the walls as you walk in and then down under ground to the bar - it's nice and cosey with tables set around the venue, get there early before it's filled with after work peeps~
C. X.
Good place to go with a small group of friends. Nice atmosphere, and great drinks, but the music is a tiny bit too loud!
K. C.
cool atmosphere! cool crafty cocktails, candlelight feel makes the place warm and inviting
B. N.
Delicious lunch place as well as for evening drinks. Despite the heavy focus on meat the salad for lunch was excellent!
N. S.
Great cocktails. Can get very cramped on a Friday night. But that's to be expected. Cause it is pretty good
J. H.
Good date spot - it's better when the lights are turned low. When it's too bright you realise it's not actually the 1920s
P. S.
Pitt Street's hidden gem of a sewing machine themed pub! Good food, beer & wine. Good crowd.
V. W.
Good atmosphere, cosy bar, booth seating. A really unusual range of cocktails. Fun
S. M.
excellent spot....first time there....small and funky!
T. S.
Great food and good place to catch up with friends. Defs a cosy place!! The food portions are good and really delicious food 😋

Awesome cocktails, super friendly staff and a nice vibe. Definitely worth checking out.
B. v. S.
Great drinks and environment but the drink "fool's Gold" imo in horrible haha
S. M.
Cute venue for a drink after work but food menu needs improving. Burger was $16 and came WITHOUT fries!!!
D. H.
Great place! Ask the waiter for the cocktail of the days, won’t regret it!
M. E.
A nice little American Bar with a speakeasy vibe and good food. The music is aggressively loud and it gets uncomfortably hot.
C. W.
So happy to have found such a good bar in the wasteland of the Sydney CBD. Underground, dark, relaxing with great food - tacos were delish!!
K. S.
Nice drinks, not much craft beer, small place so get in early else can get busy
J. M.
Great cocktails in a nice classy cozy setting! A nice place to top off your night.
F. W.

Great place for drinks, sign up for the birthday promo to get a free round of cocktails!
V. S.
Pretty warm place, hard to find at first but nice to catch up with friends. Food wasn't extraordinary.
R. H.
Interesting bar concept. Everything is about fabric stitching. Good selections of beers and foods

M. S.
Nice burgers! Great sort of hidden bar, good selection of drinks.
B. T.
Had a cool entrance. Really interesting look to it and cosy. Average price roughly 20 for a cocktail
A. S.
Cozy, loud, bearded bartenders, amazing burgers. You couldn't ask for more from a hidden little basement bar in the heart of the Sydney CBD.
H. R.
Best whiskey cocktails I've had and the burgers were bloody delicious!
S. L.
Pretty cool concept ..actually rested my fert on a restored stitch machine pedestal ... Food was nice ..got crowded at midnight ..moderate service
M. Y. P.
Good food and drink, but only one unisex toilet which is filthy. We waited for a table for 30 minutes.
C. U.
Possibly my favourite bar in Sydney, lovely, low-lit atmosphere. Perfect for groups or couples
K. N.
Had a great time, great drinks and food but their service let them down.
D. M.
Good atmosphere, great seating, ridiculously expensive drinks though
J. E.
Overall good, however downsides are - no phone reception underground, and they've removed frickles off the menu :(
C. L.
Good food, good cocktails
D. A.
Not the best Southern Fried Chicken burger I've had, but the location was convenient.
S. “. W.
Wonderfull and very friendly staff. Good atmosphere and drink selection and top notch food.
P. D.
Burgers good, not much variety in menu. Nice for drink and chat.
S. M.
Very cool spot and drinks (it felt like Melbourne stile bar)
B. G.
Good atmosphere, music bit too loud, seating is not ideal when you share a table with other people
G. G. (.
Love the ambience, the hosts and great crowd...would love to see more choices in beers!
B. G.

Chipotle tacos are fire, fantastic service and banging cocktails
J.
Stitch has one of the better burgers in Sydney, and the super-tasty fries coated in chilli powder seal the deal.
S.
Overpriced and a lot noisy.. But the food is tasty. They are quite busy during lunch
J. B.
Nice cocktails and food. The staff were a bit arrogant for my liking.
J. B.
Great place to catch up with some mates - their food is great. I highly recommend their Mac N Cheese balls.
