I'd only recommend coming here for the cheap $10 250g rump steak, with choice of either mash or chips with salad. Can't really ask for much in terms of quality when it's that cheap and affordable. Tried the more expensive $24 T-bone steak, however I cant really say it was 'worth it' in comparison to the value you get with the rump steak. Staff was friendly and the place was fairly quiet when we went which was unexpectedly given it is a pub. But your experience will vary dependent on the time and date you visit.

The current pop up restaurant at The Tennyson Hotel is Kingdom Of Rice. It’s Cambodian street food and some of the tastiest items on the menu are the skewers that you put in a roll and eat with pickled veg. The special fried rice is also a great dish and the noodle drops are definitely a win. The lilies have a strong lemon pepper flavour. A hero dish here is the calamari but ours was underdone and the chicken is a missed opportunity, it ‘s food but does not dazzle as expected. I still give five stars because these are minor faults and easily fixed by the pro team in the kitchen

As Bob said "All pub food should be like this." Hearty, generous, delicious, inexpensive and quick to arrive. The dining room was very comfortable and roomy too and on the day we went lots of sun was pouring through the windows. Staff were lovely and the restrooms clean.

Looks a little rough from the outside but don’t let that put you off they have fantastic food very tasty and it’s a very nice place inside. The $10 steak is fab, it comes with chips and salad and sauce and is very worthwhile. We’ve been here a few times and we love the food and drink. Nice little pub we you can have a casual dinner.

It could be nicer inside. Food menu is very good variety. Burgers are somewhat dry but I had dumplings and they were sensational. I’ll be back to try again and hopefully up my rating. I think a $9 beer and an $11 house wine is highway robbery though.

Pleasantly surprising! Stopped here on my way home from a long day, thinking "any food is better than no food," but ended up having a meal far better than I could've hoped for had I planned a night out! Very friendly and attentive staff, took the order patiently without hurrying me or my assistant. Steaks were perfectly done, as was the (pepper) sauce, the fresh garden salad, and even the chips. Decent boutique beer to top it off left me with a smile on my face. I'll definitely be back here again!

Meals were amazing for its price! We went back everynight during our stay near the airport... only 5 mins walk from our hotel so we could enjoy a drink during dinner

One of the few pubs still offering the traditional cheap steak... this one was $9.90 at the time of visit. Not bad. Steaks come with chips and a rather large salad, if you're into that sort of thing. You can have my salad. After ordering at the counter they have table service, which is also nice. Decent range of beers on tap, too.

Staying at the Stamford Plaza airport hotel, I didn't really feel like an expensive 5 star dinner...so googled nearby pubs for a good quality pub meal. Jumping in a $7 uber...based on the review's I came to the Tennyson. Greeted by a lovely waitress...she found me table on a busy Friday night and i looked at their inexpensive menu.a classic working man's pub, I looked around to see what everyone else was eating. It was the $9.90 steak chips and salsa special (Yes...$9.90). Ok I thought 10 buck's...cant be that bad if everyone is earing it. What came out wad a perfectly cooked medium rare scotch fillet steak with pepper corn gravy...UNBELIEVABLE. Well worth the money (I've paid 4x as much for less)Well worth the uber ride. Thanks

Had a brilliant T-Bone here, was literally one of the most correctly cooked and seasoned rare steaks I have ever had. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly even with my Coeliac Disease dietary requirements. If I'm ever in the area I will return!!

5 stars for the burgers!!!!! Seriously, haven't had a burger with that much flavour in years! I had the cheeseburger, and my son the fish burger, neither of us were disappointed. The pub itself is very much a "local", and didn't have a huge amount of atmosphere, but the beers were nice and cold. Oh, and did I mention the burgers? DELISH!

The bartenders were such lovely girls, they would always make sure I was completely happy and made me feel very welcome :) Had a few drinks and meals with my colleagues from work, and I can say I'm definitely going back there again. Many years ago, I would have never set another foot in this place however since the recent sale of the hotel, some much need changes have made the Tennyson a decent place. The new menu might be fairly small however the food is divine! The burger is the best you will find around the area. The steak and pepper sauce are simply beautiful. There is even some craft beers in tap now. Highly recommend. Note: It still has that 'mans' pub feel about it as it is mainly filled with tradies and older blokes.

Dined on a quiet Saturday night with friends who often eat here. I ordered the TBone steak at $24, was a great price I thought. The steak was a small TBone with no tail, cooked through as I asked for well done but looked grey with no charring from ?bbq cooking. The steak was very tender. The so called "salad" on the side was very poor. 1 cherry tomato cut in half, 1 slice of cucumber chopped on a bed of iceberg lettuce. Nice crispy chips. ALL salads on our plates were the same. No sure if we would return.
