Comments of The Bank
N. G.
Great pub in the heart of Newtown. Many great memories here. The downstairs area is bright and airy and has a friendly, relaxed vibe. Decent range of craft beers on tap.
G.
Yo the bank be banking me for another visit any time soon LOL. I mean seriously this place is dope AF, look at the picture of that food just look at it I mean come on it is so good looking I just want to make out with my food is that weird? No, because no one at the bank would ever judge you for making out with your food. Love the fact that you can order your drinks from the table and they bring it to you so incredibly ingenious and convenient. I’ll be back to weird people out while I make out with my food, yeah I said it!
A. E.
Great place to go in Newtown if you're not familiar with the area. They have a great beer garden out the back. Pretty tasty pub grub as well.
Z. W.
Blue haired girl recommended apple juice and fire ball after we got lemonade and fireball, it is so good, she is a legend, thank you blue hair bartender. oh and the place is dope cheers
A. C.
I booked a table from 3-6pm We had a great catch up with friends at The Bank last night. The food and service was generally great. The chicken wigs were sooo yummy! I only feel like after our allocated time was up we felt a little bit like a nuisance. We were just having such a great time and we had to prompt Staff to suggest where else we can sit. I know it does get busy but instead of just saying you need to vacate the table at a certain in a few minutes etc (which I totally understand we only booked a allocated time).. if Staff could just be open to suggestions on where we can go instead throughout the venue. We had to prompt for suggestions and Aimlessly walked around with buckets of wine we were responsibly enjoying as we did spend a lot of money And drinks and food leading up to that. Other than that looking forward to my next afternoon at The Bank!
S. L.
The service is good, you order your own drinks at the table through the QR code. The drinks are brought over pretty quickly. The staff is very friendly.
J. B.
A surprisingly big place with many options depending on the atmosphere you prefer. The food is decent and the service is good but it is the beer selection that truly sets the Bank apart from other hotels. It is craft beer heaven with knowledgeable staff who will readily give you a taster to help you make a selection. The venue has heaps of charm.
P. M.
Had a great night but one of our group of 6 didn’t get his meal. We were there for over 2 hours so not in a hurry, but it didn’t arrive. He got a refund when we left. Otherwise love The Bank. Great venue, friendly staff and (usually) great service.
O. A.
Dylan and Kat are both fantastic hosts and we had such a great time on our girls night! Thank you!
A. Y.
This place is really nice for drinking. Good selection of beers too. Hang out at the courtyard and enjoy the beers. Food was nice but the roasted pork I ordered there is like 80% fats. A nice place to chill on the weekends.
L. K.
Great atmosphere. Always upbeat. New food menu which is delicious. Close to Newtown station (always a bonus when a pub is near the local station)
N. S.
Fun place to grab a drink and watch sports. It has outdoors and downstairs areas where you can order food as well. It can get a bit noisy but you can still have a decent conversation.
Drinks are standard Sydney price ie expensive, but it's a nice alternative to CBD bars.
It's right next to the Newtown train station and near many restaurants. The food inside is not too bad. It's tasty pub food.
N. L.
A great spot for a large selection of local craft beers, pizzas and G&T. Conveniently located by Newtown station, it sports a nice back garden in a chilled vibe. Happy hour from 5-7pm weekdays. I’d happily recommend a pint of Newtowner, the watermelon G&T, chorizo pizza and squid x
(Get past the grim look from the outside, it’s completely different inside/downstairs)
C. N. (.
Great people watching in a very busy Newtown bar. Plenty of patrons, and solid beverage options, combine with a standard bar menu to keep you amused as needed after work or on the weekend.
It's a standard bar, but very well kept, with friendly service, and a great outlook.
D. M.
Love this place. Diversity, different crowds, puppy friendly, wonderful and professional staff. This place is an institution of Newtown and love it truly madly deeply.
r. j.
Awesome atmosphere Very Friendly Staff & Great Food, a wonderful Sunny Sunday afternoon was had there with Myself & 6 friends, Highly recommended.
V. M.
Excellent food. Bit pricey but worth it. Nice open eating area, cool staff and relaxed ambiance. Lots of cool young people seem to eat there. The Bank offers a good variety of spaces for lots of different tastes!
h. b.
The food is TERRIBLE. Overpriced, over spiced. Not ideal. The bar is the same as ever, so no complaints on that front.
S. H. &. b.
Nice amabience, I love the beer garden , nicely heated , even rain you can sit on the garden bz of the roof, good serice , its quite huge venaue .
A. A.
One of the best pubs in Newtown. Has a good selection of beer, wine and cocktails. There are two main areas of the pub; an inside pub area with a lot of comfortable seating and a huge outside courtyard. The staff are very friendly and they now have an order at the table system which makes things very easy. Their food is very nice and well priced. A very clean pub and the toilets are well kept.
G. S. -. L. W.
My friend and I visited The Bank for a drink and we felt in love with the backyard. Great place for relax and chat with friends. We end up having dinner there. I ordered the steak which was delicious. Staff friendly and good service overall.
C. S.
Great to experience the end of lockdown. Ask for Dylan and Bec if you’re dining and wining downstairs they will look after you. 10/10
L. R.
Loved the Turkish food and cocktails. Very accommodating staff and close to the Enmore
J. D.
I went to see a band here and enjoyed the evening. Friendly staff, great lamb burger!
K. T.
A cool place to hang, eat and drink right next to the train station. Can get busy and crammed naturally because it's a popular night spot. Ideal for groups of friends and the socially brave who crave interaction. The crowd is an across the board mix of locals, city dwellers and seasoned drinkers, young and old!
E. S.
DYLAN was amazing !!!! Employee of the month I think!!! U should give him a bonus for real!! Love him king!!! Will be coming back 💗💗💗
O. J.
Favourite king street pub. Awesome selection of craft beers in the bar at the back. Great Middle Eastern food now served by the new chef. Always a good vibe.
M. B.
The new menu downstairs is great. I recommend the spring greens pide - delicious!
B. N.
Tasty food and drink and good value banquet menu. Plenty to eat for all!
J. S.
Been here many times, great venue with a few different sections. However if you serve wine by the glass and the wine is off/oxidised as the bottle was opened hours or a day ago, it may have lost freshness and is undrinkable - when the customer sends it back your staff should be trained enough to also smell/taste the bad wine, not try to argue about how it’s stored.
S. G.
Thoughtful staff, nice atmosphere. Enjoyed my Saturday afternoon there.
F. t. M.
The bartender with the curly hair was awesome and he had a great hat
M.
I adore this place, whether its for a quick drink, a place to meet up with friends or there simply amazing food you cant go wrong. Staff are fabulous and both levels have disabled access(lift and level entrance inside)!!! Has smoking section. Even assisted my efforts when i lost my sunnies there once.
S. C.
Went for a quiet drink. It's clean and good service.
j. b.
Nice big pub, only downside is they close off areas of the pub quite early
A. S.
This is a great place, and the staff are making the most of a bad covid19 situation, the rules forced upon bars at the moment - no standing whilst drinking for example, make it hard for the business to make the place feel inviting and good for socialising. I believe the Bank is doing their very best given the rules placed upon them however the going out experience is now more okay rather than truly great/good at any bar or business - The bank deserves a full 4 stars though because you can see they are doing their best under the circumstances.
S. N.
Lively and cozy pub. Had a good selection of drinks including some cocktails. The ambience is good. Would definitely go there again.
R. A.
It's an alright place , go there if you want to stay out late coz they stay open till 4am on Fridays
A. R.
Very nice chilled vibe! Staff are always friendly and they make some good food specially the Vegan pulled pork burger
P. E.
Good pub with lots of beers and good food. Good beer garden and good upstairs club area.
Don't be afraid to explore, as it gets bigger at the back...
J. K.
Was wonderful and the food was amazing. It's outdoors so take a jacket in winter but the atmosphere is lovely. Great place for dinner with friends after work.
M. B.
Amazing meal! Went for the BBQ Platter that serves 2-3. Very filling for the 2 of us, such yummy favours and went well with a glass of pinot grisio. Affordable and very social
H. A.
Good food, good ambience friendly service and most importantly good beer. Has a car park as well with $16 payment until midnight. Limited food choices but still a good place to have a meetup with friends. Closer to central station if you're coming by public transport.
M.
Great bar! The staff are friendly and helpful. Big open rooms with an awesum open sitting area out the back.
Due to Covid laws all patrons have to be seated while in The Bank which really only allows for a few drinks and something to eat (foods great by the way) but still great to get out to support our local businesses.
M. T.
Great pub, assortment of Bars providing plenty of seating options. Good variety of 🍻 beers on tap. And... Friendly staff!
N. H.
Always a great place for a catch up with friends, a drink or a bite to eat. Multiple in and outdoor spaces give you a variety of moods and vibes to enjoy. Caters to both mainstream and Boutique drinks/beers and a decent pub restaurant downstairs will give you something to line your stomach.
Y. X.
Very nice back yard and out door space! Even better than some of the rooftops in my opinion. And they banned plastic straws!! Cheers for that!
K. C.
Great little beer garden situated at the back with a nice range of craft beers on offer. With new drinks and old favorites on offer it gives a good range from IPAs to ales.
A. R.
Great area for large and small groups. Drink jugs are a bit expensive for what you get but otherwise an all round great bar
k. l.
Great beer garden and helpful staff
P. D.
Nice relaxed venue situated close to public transport options. Many areas indoors and outdoors to enjoy in small or large groups. Generally the service staff are polite and friendly. The food is pretty good pub grub too! Beverage prices are a bit expensive but comparable to other inner west locales. ($8.40 for a schooner of cider.) expressly inclusive of EVERYONE! Rock on! 🏳️🌈
B. B.
This venue is deceptively large. From the outside it looks reasonably small but once inside it is a warren of tables. The beer garden is beautiful with large tables. We didn't have a booking and easily found a table for eight people. The food is very tasty. The service is a bit slow but that is to be expected with such a large venue. I would recommend this place for casual group dining.
D. H.
Went here with a couple of friends, was a good night. Didn't have anything to drink as I was driving, but the atmosphere was great. LBGTQ friendly with good staff and covid practices. Good Stuff
H. T.
Me&U menu food and beverage service using your smart phone. Social distancing and capacity restrictions, sign in required upon entry, covid marshal lresernt. Great service from bar staff. Thumbs up ,🤙
A. K.
Best pub in Newtown. Dylan deserves a raise
R. N.
Friendly and relaxed. A good pub food place.
Came back after receiving a lovely reply from the staff at the Bank and on second thoughts, they deserve 5 stars for great service, had a great meal and prices are good.
I love the friendly atmos too. So often you go to a pub and it's not so friendly. This one is!
Cheers
D. K.
Great pub, never had the food though. They have a pretty good beer selection, a lot of craft and the classics like VB. Awesome beer garden, and overall cozy atmosphere. I would definitely recommend.
It is also located basically next to the Newtown station, so it should be quite easy finding your way home! ;)
N. M.
Great food and always top of my list esp with the all you can eat pizza deal!
D.
Overall a really good pub. I have been there so many times! Just missed one popular beer brand. That's ok!
M. A.
A lively place was great to go and hang out with my niece, great niece, my daughter and a lovely friend - a girls day out. Great company and good service... mojito wasn't overly nice, room for improvement on that drink.
F. W.
Love 2 sit in the Bank and watch the people of Newtown go by. This would b a five star review, but unfortunately the bartender never smiled, rolled their eyes when a question was asked and unceremoniously dumped our drinks on the bar after they were poured, spilling them in the process. We all have bad days, but my spider sense was detecting more attitude rather than the fact they were having a bad day. Sorry our patronage was such an issue 4 u....
S.
Easy to order online while sitting at a table. Staff weren't overly friendly but continually checking to see if they could take glasses and plates away. Food was pretty good. Would eat and drink here again.
J. M.
It's a very friendly out going venue where I can enjoy my self. The staff are great good vibe good music.
P. S.
This venue is awesome and very large, 3 levels filled with bars and plenty of places to sit, the beer garden downstairs is very spacious, I did notice a slightly pooey smell down stairs as I walked to the beer garden but this was only a minor issue. I also checked out the night called 'all my friends' upstairs and the tunes were awesome, I just wish there was more bass but I am sure that's due to council sound issues, great spot!
V. R.
$5 happy hour schooners on weeknights from 5pm to 7pm. A great price for Newtown.
A really nice pub with friendly staff. Lots of different areas and vibes for whatever your group feels like. Probably not as good for big groups.
B. S.
Nice location, allow to bring your poppy! Friendly staff for sure. Food also available.
B. D.
Eating out during COVID can be anxiety provoking. I found the staff to be particularly professional. We had several members of staff ensure that we got to our seat in a non-intrusive way. In the line, the couple behind us kept encroaching upon our space. The staff politely warned them to socially distance. And of course, the food was great! Would definitely go back, felt safe 🙂
B. L.
Nice outdoor area and a cool indoor space. The craft beer bar at the back is usually cool though I had a particularly bad experience when I was knowingly sold an oxidised can of beer for over $30 and the Manager offered no compensation, instead telling me he was aware the beer was bad before charging me out the nose for it
A. M.
Best bar in Newtown for solid service, good spirits, wide selection of standard and craft beers. They have a lot of different areas both indoor and outdoor. Pub food is delish and service is fast.
The bar staff are great, and each friendly and cool in their own way. One chick with light brown hair thats often in the back bar, she's excellent and remembers our drinks.
M. G.
Good atmosphere, delicious foods.
E. M.
I love this place. Great food, faces, music and much much more. Great alfresco area and food selection always interesting and catering for all tastes. Summertime in the outdoor area is a must. 5 stars and lots of love.
Y.
Good atmosphere. Friendly but slow service. Food has good quantity but average quality.
N. C.
The Bank is an interesting venue, and despite being a local hot spot, the pub is very impersonal. Staff is only moderately friendly, and the service is just average. However, it’s not unbearably terrible. I have a great time, as long as I keep my expectations low with the service. It is still a wonderful place to come and meet up with friends. They have an amazing patio that overlooks a restaurant below.
There’s definitely a lot of drug use and dealing happening here despite the security. I’m sure every pub has the same issues it’s just more openly done here.
T. W.
Great place. Food is pretty good. Drinks are great and reasonably priced
C. B.
surprisingly the bank has become one of my fave pubs in newtown, it's HUGE with a great courtyard and there always seems to be space. love ya work
D. N.
The bank is one of my favourite Newtown pubs. Especially if you can get down the back in the beer garden. It's a great place to spend a weekend afternoon. The staff can be a little bit and miss depending on how busy they are.
J. A.
A great all-rounder. Super convenient location (1 min walk from Newtown Station). Recently updated their menu to include more vegan options, which are incredible (definitely recommend the pumpkin). Plenty of seating and table service is speedy. Food is a little pricey, but that's pretty standard at bars in Newtown. Very inclusive - I really appreciate the signage out the front declaring no homophobia, no transphobia, etc. I've been here many times and have always received very friendly service.
K. T.
Great atmosphere in the beer garden, quick to get a drink for the bar and the food was delicious 👍🏼 was also great to see that dogs were welcome
r. s.
Nice place for socializing, with both indoor and outdoor areas. Food is nothing special but good. Various meat and vegetarian options available. They do make a mean Lemon Lime & Bitters. Heating in winters available. Very close to Newtown station. Cordial staff.
t. l.
Great patio, good craft beer selection, and awesome food. Go here you'll be happy!
N.
This is a brilliant local to hangout after work. So close to the station, so great on the walk home during the week. The menu is amazing with so much to choose from and the portion size and taste makes you want to keep coming back. Staff are friendly and make you time there feel great even during the busier times.
M. S.
We went there for a work function just after lunch time. Heaps of space out in the back, with tarpaulin covers. Food took a while but the large order was perfectly filled, and these were properly large portions. Good selection of beers on tap.
G. S.
Took my brother to Newtown for his first night out. The bank was the only place that had good music, and room to actually breath on the dance floor. We ended up spending the rest of the night there. Great location.
S. M.
Great pub. If you like beer make sure to go upstairs to Uncle Hops, which is inside this bar. They serve a great selection of craft beer in there. The rest of the bars in the bank still have a few nice ones though. And there's a nice outside area. Great food!
T. T.
Good beer selection cozy food, friendly staff
M. B.

Great good with a wide range of craft beers. Worth checking out

Had the best night .Awsome staff

Great local place to enjoy a few cold pints

Nice pub in the heart of Newtown, only a short walk from the train station. Good food and a great outdoor area downstairs.
E. P.
I've only ever had drinks there but it's a nice pub.
Giving only 4 starts as last time I was there we were planning to go upstairs until we decided its not worth paying entry just for 1 drinks so we turned around. The guy at the door did not even greet us. After we turned around he was just rolling his eyes on us and giving this frustrated face. There was no other people there so it was not like we were even "wasting his time" . Not really the best service from a person who's the first contact for costumers. Just really annoyed me and makes me consider going somewhere else next time where I'm welcome with a happy face and a hello :) :)
L.
Great location, minute walk from Newtown train station or a few minutes walk from Erskineville train station. Good and broad selection of foods, from Thai all the way through to typical pub food (burgers, salads, pizza's etc). Great vegan and vegetarian options with plenty of seating in both in and outside. If driving - parking will prove challenging. Back streets would be your best option. Would easily fit groups of 40+ people. Recommend.
S. K.
Lovely spot for a drink. They accommodate larger groups, but get there early to grab a spot in the outdoor beer garden. Good selection of drinks and pub food. Great staff. They support equal rights so support them!
H. C.
This is a cool pub that has a few good local beers on tap, as well as a few good international craft beers too. They have food in the bistro down stairs. It's mostly burgers and pizza type of faire. They have a smokers section around the side of the pub and it's quite nice. They have heaters and some plants and what not. As you'd expect, drinks are not cheap. Local beer is about $6 per schooner.
G. D.
This a fantastic pub great range of craft beers etc and a special thanks to security personnel including a great thanks to Jethro(bearded man Security)does an excellent job keep it up 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Please look at how awesome the Security personal including Mr Ryan Renata is this is a fantastic place and more hotels and establishments should shadow from their improvements!!!!
😊😊😊😊😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😊😊😊😊
J. C.
Good food, good atmosphere, bar staff friendly and make great drinks!
A. S.
Our favourite pub for arvo and weekend drinks, the staff are fabulous, bouncers are always approachable, diverse customers, groovy music and superb outdoor areas
K. K.
A cute late night establishment in Newtown. Outdoor seating is great. Drinks are inexpensive. Great for a good time with friends.
Closeby to the station, conveniently located. Food options are great.
J. B.
A great pub for smokers with a extensive outdoor undercover well appointed space for those that want to smoke. Friendly staff and very close to the train station.
A poor selection of tap beers in my opinion.
N. E.
Pretty decent pub if it’s your local. It’s one of the better pubs in the area but there’s much better bars around if you’re travelling from out of town and want to have a unique or premium experience. The Bank packs out in the mid afternoon so arrive early if you need to secure table space.
D. K.
Atmosphere always great at The Bank, fantastic vibe. Unfortunately the food this time was a bit of a let down as the schnitzel was overcooked and dry
P. B.
Sound was great, but the food was expensive and only so-so. One of the worst/most expensive whisky and cokes I have ever had. Just stick to beer, eat beforehand, and you'll have a good time.
R. M.
Absolutely loved our meals even though some off menu additions and changes 😍👍🏻
Also, travelling from Newcastle, staff member Lee was happy to book us a table for 2 even though they only take 8ppl bookings! Loved the beer garden vibe!
S. S.
In Sydney, drinking establishments that are located next to train stations are generally a bit gross. The Bank is a proud exception. I've been here too many times to count and I've never encountered any antisocial behaviour. Uncle Hops is great for craft beer connoisseurs and the main kitchen knows how to make a damn tasty cheeseburger. It's a popular joint, so try to arrive before 7 PM if you want a seat in the beer garden.
J. H.
Great place. Lovely staff and lovely atmosphere. There's many different kinds of spaces to suit your needs. The front is a towny bar, middle whiskey and craft beer bar, downstairs garden and upstairs hangout and dancey bar. Great and reasonably priced food. One of the best spots in Sydney :)
L. v. N.
Not just another pub, this place is punching above it's weight to be sure, with an inclusive atmosphere, good service, nice food, and a great beer garden.
My only gripe was that some pretty standard spirits weren't available in one of the back bars, and imo there would be plenty of room to house them.
D. A.
A refitted Newtown pub that doesn't suck too much, reasonable selection of beer and some nice places to sit. Enjoyable street viewing and an ample outdoor space. Pretty decent kitchen. And some nice staff to boot
U. W.
Happy hour $5 schooners. A bit too many try hard craft beers vs reliable Aussie brews and global brands for my liking.
An old favourite that keeps on dragging in the punters all the same.
A. R.
One of the best pubs in Sydney. Diverse crowd, great staff decent happy hour ($5 schooners). Queer friendly but not exclusively. Hosts Sydney harbour bears on a Sunday.
K. G. R.
Hi there Bank Hotel... I am an old school Newtonian having lived in the area most of my life. I used to go to sleepers for after show drinks.
I came to Newtown to meet an old old friend and could not order a coopers green from your front bar!
That's why you get four not five stars.
L. G.
Great place to grab a beer or two with a vast selection of craft beers in their craft beer bar (Uncle Hops). The Bank also has an upstairs area (wayward) with regular events throughout the week. I highly recommend wayward's comedy show which is on every Wednesday at a low price of $10 per ticket (at the door or online). The comedy show featured quite a number of comedians which provides you with a vast range of comedy styles to enjoy throughout the night.
R. S.
Went for drinks after dinner. Great staff, taking the covid restrictions seriously which was awesome. Overall nice atmosphere.
N. G.
Long time popular Newtown bar. Good beer selection, good food, great location. Massive place so good for bigger groups. There are places with more character around but its worth a look.
T. H.
Nice Pub. Food was limited & a bit expensive. Staff are friendly & security guard on Wednesday is an awesome bloke. Very friendly. Rare for security guards. Poor bloke was freezing outside & still managed to smile & make us feel welcome
Z.
Friendly bartenders and a nice outside sitting area. It's also a large venue so if you have a big group you'll find somewhere to stand or sit. Great location for some pre dinner drinks and the crowd isn't as university aged as other bars.
B. H.
Absolute banger of a venue with staff, security and management to match, keep up the good work guys, love from a Newtown local.
T. H.
This place is better now but still not up it's potential. Food used to be way more expensive and now it's come down but we're not sure if the quality too. The beer garden is great on Sat afternoon but way too noisy no Sat night. They've gone strawless which is odd for a place that respect itself.. You bourbon you will need to stir with your fingure instead.. Beer selection is ok not overly exciting.
R. A.
Good choice of drinks nice atmosphere friendly staff well worth a visit
D. A.
The lady with glasses was super lovely and kind.
The beer was cold and alcoholic.
The outdoors had fresh outdoors like air.
All in all would come back.
T. T.
Good beer selection cozy food, friendly staff
T. C.
Good place for pre-drinks if planning to go out. Peak times can get insane. Hops bar has all the craft specials for hipsters. Garden bar good for a feed and a few drinks with the crew. Public bar for the less adventurous. Waywards upstairs can get very crowded, loud, sticky, grungy if you're into it. Well run venue.
S. F.
One of the biggest & best venues in Newtown for a mix of good food, good people, good service, and if the bar at the front is too busy you can always get a little fancy and head to the craft beer bar with it's awesome ever-changing range, or head upstairs for some games and a boogie. Usually live music upstairs on peak nights as well 👌🏼

Very good location and food is amazing. I was going to suggest that the bar might be more popular with live music as I ran a band/dj events around Sydney so was looking for a good venue around Newtown. I'm looking for a week day night, Tuesdays or Thursdays....
A. G.
Food is a little expensive (medium priced), but good and beers are average price for the area, but we'll worth it to pay their friendly, attentative staff. Bears @ Bank on Sundays and post-GLBTIQA Fair Day drinks are a highlight. Overall clean, good facilities in a prime location that supports the local queer /arts culture and vibe of the suburb. Highly recommend.
L. C.
The Bank hotel has gone through many changes over the years, and the latest is pretty good. The space downstairs is more pub type food and Friday's there's a good 2-4-1 share menu. Lots of different spaces that have their own unique vibe. Am enjoying going back there.
J. A. U.
Great place to eat, drink or gather with friends or family. Very friendly staff. Great ambient. Sundays meet upstairs with nice bears. Good location, just a few steps from Newtown station
P. B.
One of the best bar/tavern I've been in Sydney. Offers variety of choices of Liquors. The food is amazing as well. Very busy during Friday evenings and weekends.
A. E. C. M.
The first time I entered The Bank I was expecting a normal not so big pub, but turns out that it is quite big with a back underground terrace (if that makes sense). It has a good selection of drinks and pretty descent food. Only issue if you like would be that it tends to get noisy and sometimes is difficult to talk
C. C.
This is a must visit venue in Newtown which isn't too hard as you'd have to be blind to miss it. Brilliant location, great food, great drink selection from local brews to international faves and some very friendly bar staff. Gets pretty busy Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights but on a hot day this place is hard to go past. The courtyard is beautifully done and another one of those establishments that makes Newtown great.
H. M.
Steer clear of the front bar. Make your way out the back for a more mature, proper Newton flavour crowd.
Drinks are exxy but they're all boutique/batch and it's worth it for good atmosphere and discovering new favourite beers!
A. C.
Great place to come to, and have a beer with friends. It is one of the busier bars on King Street and it get quite busy and loud on Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday afternoon, they have a Gay Bear Happy hour that is well attended. The back area is nice especially in the spring and summer.
The Thai food downstairs is a little over priced, but you get a ton of food, which makes up for it.
A. T.
Downstairs Restaurant has great food. not a huge menu selection currently but the food they have is great. Very friendly staff and cozy environment
V. O.
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Disappointing food however. Got a chicken Parma that was so dry, I had to ask for aoili to make it more palatable. Side salad was some kale with a bit of dressing. Bland, overpriced and underwhelming.
N. L.
Reliable standard value pub in Newtown. Has got several floors with a beer garden smoking area and a dance floor on the top floor. Drinks are reasonably priced, no overall stand out features there but good range of beers and winea.
R. M.
I'm here for the Spiced Rum and the arcade games
J. B.
It has an indoor area to watch sport and an outdoor area to enjoy the sunshine. What more do you want? I do recommend trying the alcoholic ginger beer. Great tasting stuff
R. E.
One of my favourite pubs, really open crowd, don't feel intimidated and security even are really polite! Would love to be able to eat with friends that smoke, even just plate of hot chips. Understand it's a Government thing but maybe we can start looking at a way around this?
K. K.
The Bank is fantastic since they had their refurbishment. You could spend your whole day and night here, between the beer bar at ground level, the gorgeous courtyard down stairs for wines and some food, and then cocktails and dancing in the cocktail bar upstairs!
The courtyard has great food, I would recommend the crab pasta dish, and the chicken with corn bread. There's loads of space and the staff at the bar are usually pretty efficient. I've been here for drinks with a group of 25 and found it was the perfect spot. I'm especially looking forward to going back once the new smoking bans are introduced!
The cocktail bar upstairs could work on their cocktails, they're definitely not the best I've had. Not a huge fan of the 50s rock n roll themed decor they have going, but the outdoor balcony area is brilliant and it would be a great spot for a private function.
D. L.
Always have a good time here. Suggestions, would be good if they had some form of music playing in the restaurant and smoking area. Other than that it's good for restaurant dates with friends. Great for a drink an restaurant quality food.
J. V.
One of the best pubs in Sydney. Great beers on tap, reasonable prices, fantastic food. The staff are really friendly and there's a diverse mix of people.
I. M.
Love coming here. Good selection of drinks, beer garden at the back is spacious and indoors enough space. Staff are welcoming and friendly, you never wait long to get food or drinks. Well run place.
n. w. d.
Never had a bad experience here
M. H.
Had dinner at the bank tonight is was great! Fantastic chicken burger and chips were perfect. Our food was ready in 15-20 mins on a Saturday which made our night. Thanx will definitely visit again
M. K.
Great pub with a handy location.
Efficient and friendly service, good food menu with an awesome downstairs beer garden.
Handy position on king street makes for a excellent experience
F.
Excellent place to go for special occasions and all round just a great place to go for a meal or a couple of relaxed drinks... love the bank hotel! it's just got a great atmosphere and a very relaxed vibe going for it. One of the best venues in the maitland area!
B. W.
Recently refurbished, this pub is much better than it used to be. The only reason to go is the enormous outdoor area hidden away out back, which is a great location to while away an evening. The beer is so so but with a beer garden like this you don't complain too much.
A. P.
Visited this place many times for a random drink or two. Always loved the cosy atmosphere and amazing ambience. The staff is friendly and helpful.
P. N.
The Bank was carried to four stars by the force of nostalgia and my forgiving nature. The menu is okay, but not what it once was. What makes this place worth visiting is the atmosphere in the beer garden, and the jugs of cocktail. What makes it worth leaving is being crammed inside at midnight. I wish we could move all the NIMBYs out of the inner city.
P. S.
Fun pub great clientele and food options. Overbearing in your face security even whilst in the pub like most places in Sydney these days.
A. R.
This is a great place to meet friends after a lot.g week at work or (or a Monday because, why not). The food is great especially the items from the grill/smoker. They have happy hour which is always a bonus.
A. O.
Good experience as always. Nice range of beers from the classics like VB to the more boutique ales. Friendly bar staff and good food too.
N. L.
I come here a lot, or more specifically I come to Waywards upstairs, for a dose of local live music. They put on great bills and the space is big enough that a good crowd can filter in but small enough so that it still feels intimate.
P. E.
Nice craft beer bar. Had a plate at chilli chicken wings to share. Good!
Down side was that one of the beers was off (lactic acid). But good service and pleasant bar.
D. H.
Great atmospheres bar & pub in vibrant Bankstown
C. c.
Chugs of cocktails are awesome value! At $22 each they are full enough to give about 4 drinks. The sangrila was packed with fresh fruit and vegetables at the top and tasted great. to accompany the drinks we got the shoestring fries which was very large for the are and tasted great
J. S. A.
This place is HUGE. It goes back about 100 metres along the railway line and is spread over three levels. It contains a restaurant, a bistro, four bars and three large outdoor areas.
The whole place is really nicely fitted out and seems to be free of the usual Newtown dirtiness and lunatics.
Food is very good, drinks are reasonably priced and it's just a nice place with a nice atmosphere. Massively better than the Townie, Zanzibar, Kellys or any of the other million pubs nearby.
Bank Hotel would be my #1 choice for holding a large party or event. They regularly lease out the top floor for just that - they won't often run out of space on the other two floors!
J. N.
I was downstairs in the Beer garden for about an hour and got the wedges with Wasabi Mayo sauce, for snacking on in between beers. My only gripe is that I got there 5 mins to the end of happy hour, and we weren't given happy hour rates... other than that, it's a nice place to chill out with mates.
C. W.
The Bank offers a lot of outdoor space, so it's the perfect place for alfresco summer drinks. The staff are friendly and the daily food and drink deals are good value for money, although meals can take a while to arrive after ordering.
G. S.
reasonably priced, has a nice beer garden, the food is alright and the place gas good vibes, the staff are nice too.
S. B.
Great pub with lots of seating and good food options. Some of the bar staff need to work out how to properly serve patrons in order.
P. F.
open area beer garden, great staff and service they are always happy to have a chat, its a huge area perfect to hold a party or a event, the meals are huge enough to share one plate for two people.
parking isnt too great better off catching a cab or a train other than that a great place for a night out.
S. S.
Great selection of tasty independent beers out the back. Just ask the bar staff.
S. B.
Awesome outdoor spaces, great list of beers, delicious pizza - esp the mushroom and pepperoni. Love the upstairs bar on a Friday, although watch out for the flocks of 18yr olds who magically appear around midnight.
M. F.
I was pleasantly surprised by the doorman. Polite, funny, and just out to do his job. Not adversarial in any way. Great work dude, you are helping make the industry better for the punters and the workers.
B.
I don't mind it though if has definitely lost that Newtown feeling over the last little but of time. That may be a sign of the times though I do mourn the loss of something good unique. The food is good though slightly more expensive than some other venues in Newtown and not much better. The have a wide array of beverages available so something for everyone.
P. W.
Loved this place. Craft beer on tap, drag queen trivia night, and a quiet secluded beer garden where you can actually have a conversation with your friends over your pints!
A. M.
Place has a nice vibe inside and out. Often come here where I'm showing people out and about in Newtown.
Checkout the beer garden and cocktail area, they have a fantastic vibe.
Cocktails are okay, but not the best.
Would reccommend
A. O.
Firstly, I’ve been coming here for a long time and it’s always been a great vibe, friendly people, great food and always a fun time, but one night I had a situation with a man I met there, and the manager (Ella) was so nice and made me feel so much better and the security were so good with handling it and took it seriously and dealt with it quickly, so not only is it a fun place it is a safe place !!!! Recommend the bank 100%
J. B.
Great place ... hugely deceptive from the streetfront. So many different seating options, inside and out. Good quality beers and ciders and yeah just a big pleasant surprise !
j. h.
Cool trendy pub, But i would like to see more local beers on tap. There are many great breweries around the area.
L. L.
The highlight in Bank Hotel is the beer garden at the back, with lofty terraces embracing a central courtyard adorned by leafy greeneries and mood lighting, it's a great place for group outings. That said, it's still a bar, don't expect too much from the risottos here.
P. L.
A nice place to kick back with a few mates. We didn't have to wait to long for drinks and such and there was plenty of areas for chilling. The security was pretty chill and the guy checking IDs and such was friendly.
D. P.
Was a nice bar setting liked the downstairs out the back area was very open and airy and enjoyed some food as well all round not a bad place to go in new town. Staff are friendly ,small poker machine area .
c. c.
Just discovered the gorgeous secret garden downstairs! Cocktails, vegan options, good music playing and lovely staff. Great vibes for you Bank! <3

Please accept my apologize!!!
I have posted my review at the WRONG location. My review was NOT for your location at all
My post was meant for The Bank at Kogarah, NOT Newtown
You are indeed correct, you do not serve the dish I said I had ordered - my mistake for getting the address totally incorrect
Which such a good attitude demonstrated in your reply, I can only assume the food you serve is good also - One day I hope to try out your establishment given the professionalism with which you responded to me when I have clearly made a mistake in reviewing your establishment
Please consider my sincerest apologize, I have just noticed your reply and I am replying to correct my mistake
D. B.
Never had a bad experience here. When I used to live in the area, we would always end up here as the rest of Newtown started to gather the lock out crowds.
Haven't tried the food in a while but was always tasty.
Mates always catch up here every Sunday.
J. P.
Great spot. Drinks are exactly what you'd expect and about the right price. Worth a visit.
D. M.
Great atmosphere and set up, staff are great but food is average at best for the ridiculous prices they charge. It used to be way better value pre Covid.
C. J.
Forget eating here any more. Servings are a joke and twice the price they should be. Long gone are the days of the old Sumalee! But as a bar and beer garden, very nice. Drinks are slightly pricey, but surrounds make up for it.
S. R.
Noice atmosphere good selection of local beer and good snacks what more could you want?
N. A.
Love this bar. Great atmosphere
P. C.
Great local place to enjoy a few cold pints
J. W.
Having lived in the Inner West for around 4 years now, I've been to The Bank a number of times... weekend nights out, mid-week low key drinks, sports games, food, etc.
I really only have good things to say:
- Good variety of beers on tap
- Nice variety of indoor/outdoor and bar areas
- Can regularly cite the security as the friendliest I've seen in Sydney. "Lecky" I think his name is, has been so friendly, interactive, non-macho (hard to find in Sydney) and funny in my encounters.
- The people that frequent this place are usually up for a spontaneous banter, rather than other places which seem to restrict socialising through dark, private spaces. I always feel comfortable saying hi to a random here.
- The bar staff are friendly and chatty when they're not too busy.
- The staff happily changed the tv to sport that I wanted to watch at a particular time.
Some negative reviews have suggested that security have been sexist and aggressive. I haven't personally experienced this here, although I think this is a common trait amongst security all over Sydney. I'd like to think that security in Sydney as a whole can grow up, smile at patrons, treat everyone equally and encourage everyone to have a good time. Go to Europe and you'll find that bouncers can still control violence and anti-social behaviour without being macho, aggressive gorillas.
My experience says The Bank has some security that are really trying to positively challenge that stereotype.
I just wish this place was open til 5am every night!!
C. I.
Great atmosphere and a great selection of beers on tap. A fantastic place to end the working week. Does get very busy though.
L. M.
Great place for a meet with friends, small frontage, but inside it goes on for ages, ending up in an awesome sunken garden setting. Much enjoyed when we were there
B. S.
One of my favourite pubs in Newtown. We always come here for a drink or something to eat or on the way to somewhere else. Great vibe for all ages!
L. H.
Great pub with a good sized beer garden. Food is nice and it is the place to be on a Friday and Saturday night.
N. S.
Great bar with various levels and atmospheres, decent food, beautiful beer garden, good staff. And open late! Great place to start your night in Newtown.
Z. M.
Very popular with the Newtown crowd these days, friends ordered pizza and food from the grill- looked good! Fun busy vibe, but waitstaff where really unhelpful in allowing us to get or prebook a table.
M. G.
Decent food, burgers are quite good if a little on the pricey side, and a brilliant beer garden area downstairs out the back. Selection of beers is as expected. Overall, good pub!
J. W.
Decent sized venue with a really nice beer garden. Food menu is nice but no food to be consumed outside. Beer selection is decent
D. P.
Great ambience, variety of beers and good service!
s. d.
Good atmosphere and good ciders on tap
P. B.
One of the best bar/tavern I've been in Sydney. Offers variety of choices of Liquors. The food is amazing as well. Very busy during Friday evenings and weekends.
T. N.
great pub too hang out in. busy, nice atmosphere. happy hour.
J. D.
A great place for friendly drinks. Good selection of drinks, and low noise and narrow tables makes it very easy to have conversation. Good space.

Nice place to sit outside and have a beer. I would like to go back but unfortunately we live in the USA.
A. R.
This is a great place to meet friends after a lot.g week at work or (or a Monday because, why not). The food is great especially the items from the grill/smoker. They have happy hour which is always a bonus.
N. C.
The Bank is an interesting venue, and despite being a local hot spot, the pub is very impersonal. Staff is only moderately friendly, and the service is just average. However, it’s not unbearably terrible. I have a great time, as long as I …
K. M.
Great local pub/restaurant. Great way to start playing in and around Newtown.. Alternative croud. Fun place to have a bevvie or two.
O. M.
Plenty of space and a variety of different experiences within the same venue.
A. B.
One of the great bars through Newtown. The place is usually quite crowded which creates a good atmosphere.
Ordered a chicken burger whilst we were there, tasted great and a good size meal.
K. M.
The Bank is always great and conveniently located by Newtown Station. Pop along for a beer or a longer stay and definitely for the Anzac Day two-up experience - great atmosphere.
T. W.
Used to be a great place to hang in Newtown, cool and casual with excellent Thai Food. Now just a sellout hotel that likes the follow the latest trend, lacks personality more like an RSL and that a Newtown Pub.
R. M.
The best paella in town every Saturday after 5pm! Must try! Great atmosphere and delicious craft beers available as well.
T. N.
Nice place with several varied spaces. Nice people; good food and drink. Better during the day for one my age.
J. D.
A great place for friendly drinks. Good selection of drinks, and low noise and narrow tables makes it very easy to have conversation. Good space.
p. w.
Great outdoor spaces and excellent steaks. We thoroughly enjoyed a Chapel Hill Shiraz to go with it. We'll be back.
J. S. R.
I'm sorry but that love of money is the root of all evil.brothers sisters my spirit is quite. Jesus gave me a new heart be good stewards of the treasures of Heaven God bless, happy Hanaka.
C. M.
Just go! Even when it's packed (35 people xD) the guys will let you in so that you can enjoy yourself with good Old school comedy nights.
C. T.
Love the Bank Hotel - Great back area and the food tastes good - If you turn up later in the night they do close a lot of the areas and if you want to have a smoke - it's a cramped little side area on the second floor. Good music most nights too!
B. H.
Great food. Great staff. Great vibe. Perfect for sneaky sunday drinks.
V. F.
From outside, it doesn't look anything special. But you definitively should go in and make your way to the backyard, pretty big and really nice.
The food is much better than what you can find in this kind of place usually.
D. N.
It has a relaxed atmosphere, nice food, good choice of beers.
d. s.
Nice friendly staff and great beer. A very friendly setting. A great place to meet before going to dinner.
b. w.
Been here numerous times. Nice outdoor thai place. Somewhat exyt but portions are sizeable and not too run of the mill Thai. The whole fish, curries were good. Decent bar. Good long inner bar for birthdays, sits 10+ easy. Women coming here shouldn't be straddling the upstairs bank hotels banisters while showcasing their hoo has to the diners below. Amusing for sure. Twice!
N. S.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Justin Hemms strikes again.
Same as every other sterile pub that he's touched
-edit-
maybe too tough with the earlier review- upon extensive testing and investigation it is only 1/3 as sterile as a typical Merivale pub
N. V.
One of the coolest beer gardens i’ve been to 😍
L. _.
Love the craft beer section at the back. So many good options and the dark beers are superb.
Food and nibbles are a bit overpriced though.
D. M.
Good beer at good prices. The outside section is quite nice and it's never too packed.
A. J.
Certainly a busy, vibrant place. If you can see past the setting sun, the front counter is a good place to watch the interesting sights of Newtown pass by.
P. A.
Yes a good pub BUT let down by charging minimum $8.50 for a glass of red when the beers are cheap here !
Hey Bank !...
There are some "cool dude" Red drinkers here in Newtown... So please adjust your prices to suit this clientele !!
K. B.
Great atmosphere for a Tuesday night, very relaxed great spot by the King St windows
K. S.
Nice place and nice beers, but the bouncers are too pushy about moving smokers along way before the licence requires people to go outside.
J. M.
Good vibe to it, and obviously popular given I had to go to the downstairs, garden area. Pretty clean throughout, and efficient bar service too.
C. E.
Awesome upgrade to the outdoor area .. you have no idea until you see it .
Inside front area is not amazing but definitely makeup for it out the back. Good selection of beers !
A. S. (.
Nice outdoor beer garden and great food. They have a hand pump and a decent selection of beer. The food was good. They had a lot of BBQ food which was great.
A. H.
Excellent place to hang out. The beer garden is really cool. Good options to eat, fair price.
N. K.
Went there with friends at late night. The place was crowded which was a good sign. The orders were served in no time. And a big area to accommodate the crowd. Had a really good time there.
E. B.
Comfortable, warm and lively. Good selection of beers and plenty of little nooks to hide away in. The pizzas are particularly good.
S.
The Bank public bar has a few crafties on tap. You can sit at the front window and watch the world go by. Friendly place with Uncle Hops out the back.
E. Y.
Foods are decent, friendly staff for 4stars,
But the vibe that made from the customers all different kind of colours ppl has and various section of bar just dragging me back to here, i just love it especially daytime.
R. Q.
Good relaxed pub atmosphere, good pub food, I enjoy the ambience of The Bank & it's always a great place to meet friends. A little too dimly lit during the evening but it does add to the warmth. Their Battered fish & chips was a generous serving & typical of what I would expect from a pub like this.
T. N.
great pub too hang out in. busy, nice atmosphere. happy hour.
R. I.
Love the staff, the drinks and the variety of people that frequent it
R. “. A.
The pub looks great, good selection of beers, craft beer bar, good food, outdoor beer garden areas. Got a lot going for it but a bit expensive.
B. T.
Pretty good place for a drink if you find yourself in Newtown, I highly recommend the back/downstairs area. Very open and well staffed.
M. O.
Amazing atmosphere, chill as, right in the heart of it all. Wife and I loved having a few cheeky drinks in the beer garden!
M. S.
Busy on the weekends. Several different bars offering a variety of drinks and food. I had a couple of craft beer pints int the bar out the back.
M. C.
Great looking pub with a great beer garden and casual pub food. Highly recommended for a catch up with friends!
P. W.
The Bank has always been a pretty decent spot, the recent renovations - particularly the addition of a craft beer bar at the back - has made it one of my favourite spots on King St
C. M.
Great selection of beers, great food and tonnes of space. Also great for watching live sports.
e. b.
Tried the rump was very cold, one of the bartender was a bit mean.
J. N.
Great pub on King St Newtown.
A. B.
Not a bad bar near newtown station. Normally busy and open till late. Drink prices are ok but the bar service can be slow sometimes.
A. L. (. i. a. F. F.
I heart the Bank Hotel! whether it's their share plates at Happy Hour or a club sandwich filled with juicy crabmeat and pickle chips. This is my Happy place in Sydney's inner west.
H. W.
Great on a sunny day at the back in the beer garden. Service is a little slow ie understaffed. Nice wine selection.
M.
Good Atmosphere, great staff, convinent location, modern with a nod to the past.
E. W.
I've never understood the appeal of the bank. They redid it a while ago to try and make it posh but it's just expensive and dull. Nice outside area but otherwise it has nothing on the millions of other pubs around.
G. T.
I went to the record Fair in the beer garden if you're looking for vinyl records it's the place to go I think not to sure on once a mouth I collect records myself great day out great place to go
W. F.
This places is great! Awesome food and lots of beer to choose from. There are lots of spaces to relax and dine.
N. S.
Great selection of craft beers but also for fans of Hibiki Whiskey by Suntory they have a fine selection of whiskies.
A. W. (.
Great little space. Bears on Sunday is always nice and friendly and a good vibe as well. Tiny outdoor area, but inside it's a nice space.
O. U.
Has a nice brewery at the back with a completely different concept from the front bar. Pretty cool place.
g. p.
Popular place. Good selection of beers, wines and spirits. Friendly atmosphere. Spacious and open area. Diversified crowd
b. p.
Great pub. Kind like the TARDIS, Looks small on the outside but huge on the inside. Great for groups. Service ok.
b. f.
Christmas drinks with with my workmates. Nice and relaxed atmosphere...abd Riesling by the glass? That's 5 stars just for that.
S. K.
Had the best night .Awsome staff
I. G.
Looks a bit ye olde worlde inside with real wooden, utility decor but with up to date and and local, modern beers and cider on tap. Large, central and friendly.
T. S.
Great food, great atmospher! Well priced highly recommend it! Only thing is the BBQ sharsplates are on the small side for larger groups.
S. L.
Good atmosphere with a good outside seating area. I haven't eaten here but the food looks good!
m. k.
Do not stop yourself at the front sitting area, go in and explore. They have some amazing sitting areas esp the gorgeous beer garden!
K. J.
Nice range of beers both the standards and craft, all reasonably priced. Great ambience and decor with a varied crowd.
C. N.
Excellent food and service
G. A.
Pleasant relaxed atmosphere, great selection of beers and good food. One of my go-to Pubs in Newtown.

It's a standard Sydney bar. Nice atmosphere, decent staff, ok beer and cocktails... not sure on the food.
D. O.
Excellent craft beer bar.

E. F.
Foods was fantastic. Best chips I've ever had. Great atmosphere.
T. B.
Always reliable...
Great food and beers...
"People watch" on King Street...
Quirky "side seating."
Go on...
Dangle your feet 😁😁😁
p.
Well priced decent beer and a big outdoor area- can't complain! I usually favour smaller pubs but the Bank's an exception for me
E. H.
The Bank does good food downstairs and has a nice vibe, with a unique look to each level. Great for a catch up with friends.
k. m.
Nice place, good food. It's a bit more pricey than some places in newtown but overall pretty decent
A. K.
Nice venue to host events. Only had a drink so based on that it's pretty tip-top!
B.
Very good beer selection. Usually very crowded tho.
Have not tried food yet.
M. V.
Blown away by the size of this place. Good range of beers, good service, good food. Well be visiting again.
T. A.
Good beer, good atmosphere despite being massive. Never tried the food but it looks good.
B. H.
Great place to meet up with friends for a drink and a chat.
Staff are friendly,
Value for money and spoilt for choice.
Easy walk to this venue.
J. A.
Great place for a after work drink or to social. The place is huge and the food is great. Very social atmosphere.
D. K.
Great pub that's always had a good selection of drinks.
The back section is pretty good and has a good selection of craft beers

Not a huge menu but the food was excellent. Friendly staff. Good facilities.
P. C.
Great vibe. Eclectic crowd. Reasonably priced drinks. Great service.
R. V.
A perfect pitstop to start your night in Newtown.
A great pub with plenty of seating areas. Great food and friendly staff
G.
Have always enjoyed visiting this pub adjacent the rail station. Amazing choice of keg beers. Free wi-fi.
Y. L.
First time in Newtown, I was invited to good-by party, by a friend of mine who moves to London for few years.
+ Food is tasty, bread with tomato and onions, then we had veggie and chicken burgers with chips
+ Drinks are great, I had: pineapple juice, orange juice, and then even warm water with lemon for free, because of aching throat (I had to shout so people can hear me over laud music)
+ Convenient location
+ Friendly bartenders and security
- Music on the second floor is too loud, but it's only my personal opinion, I'm walking on the streets with earplugs because its too noisy
H. S.
We always drink craft beers in the bar at the back. Pretty good selection, nice atmosphere.
A. D.
One of the best places in Newtown. Love the garden. You can find good deals on food during week.
S. B.
Great location. Good decor. Poor customer service from the bartenders.
R. O.
Good selection of drinks and friendly staff. It gets a bit hard to get drinks when there is a huge crowd.
N. S.
Great outdoor area, most dishes I've had tasted great. If you've never been you should so check it out.
J. D.
Really lovely people serving. A relaxing environment.
G. C.
A great local bar for us with lots of options. Drinking, eating, partying. Great venue and friendly staff.
K. T.

The Bank hotel has a hidden Craft Beer Bar out the back called Uncle Hops. A great find. The only hint you'll see is a small "Uncle Hops" sign at the entry.

Nice place to sit outside and have a beer. I would like to go back but unfortunately we live in the USA.

The service wasn't the best. We had booked in for a luncheon but they didn't even have us down for the booking ..the drinks we ordered took so long to arrive and this pub wasn't that busy at all.

was ok but felt that it was trying to hard to be trendy and out of synic with the surroundings. is easy to find in the strip on King street. Prices were reasonable and service was ok slow to get drinks but was busy.

The security is rather rude.

Enjoyed the crab linguini, but the empanadas which arrived after we had finished our mains were a disappointment especially at $17 for 3 pieces of pastry with almost no filling..

Uncle Hops craft beer bar out the back is excellent. Large facility with lots of seating is a big plus.

The beer garden out the back is an oasis and the upstairs dance floor is fun for a booggie to some tacky music.
