Dropped in for a Saturday afternoon Pale Ale. In this case also a taste test. Great old pub right near Moore Park. Very nice old Australian pub feel. Staff were super friendly

$10 for a kg or $16 for 2kg of wings on a Monday night with any drink purchase was definitely the draw card for us this evening. There had also been reviews on urban list that these were some of the best wings in Sydney - they were ok. A little dry and not so spicy for hot wings but good value for he price. The nachos were pretty damn good and service was pretty awesome too.

Enjoy food overall, just get pissed off with the new staff! September 2015 - 4 stars. July 2016 - I usually love this place, but they had new staff in there the other day with attitude and that were really unhelpful. Hope they usual staff are coming back or we probably won't be! 3 stars. June 2017 - again with the new staff telling us we can't get our usual order mixing mash with salad or veg with chips! At least they are nice and polite about it this time, but still need to leave their mark, is it worth it!?! Even the advert that the staff contradicts is displayed! The kitchen staff are so nice and the owners are great too, so really annoying when I have go into the toilet to take a photo of the offer for tonight so I can quote it to the staff! I love this pub and come even though I've moved out of the area, but come on! Kitchen staff saved the day again! Small things make a difference! 2.5 stars.

The place to come by before heading to Game night at the stadiums. Plenty of seating and TV's for sports. Wide selection of beers on tap and plenty of seating. We came for a comedy show in their back lounge which was ok. Not sure if I'd come back again otherwise.

This place felt like it had been my local pub for the last 10 years the first time I went there! Trivia started out as just something to do as we got food. (AMAZING food BTW) This then turned into a super fun slightly casual game that involved winning stupid amounts of free drinks for almost everyone involved. The staff were so amazing as well as it was really reasonably priced. Get down and support businesses like this so we don't lose them!

I used to love the Bat & Ball as a good solid local pub, but the last two times I've been the Sunday roast has sold out by 5pm and even their steak options. The menu has also been reduced over time. Still great friendly staff but please sort out your food options.

Met some mates here for pre-game drinks and dinner before the Ireland-Wallabies game. Atmosphere was awesome. Beer was cold (if a little expensive) and food was great / reasonable. Staff were also really friendly even when the bar was 6-deep during the rush. Going back on a less-crazy day to try the frozen PBJ!

Every now and again you feel compelled to leave review for a great experience. My visits to the Bat and Ball whilst travelling to Sydney for work have made this happen. The service was exceptional made me feel like I was at a country pub in the city.The staff noticed I was watching the footy in my phone and immediately offered to put it on the tv . I payed for a couple of beers with my dinner and they delivered the second beer to my seat after I finished. Little things make for a great experience when travelling. I ordered the Peri peri chicken and it was exceptional nice and light and well crafted meal. I wanted to try the other options on my second night but couldn’t it was too good. So happy I came Thanks 👍

Great local hotel. Their Kitchen is ammazing. Has a few tv's for sport viewing and a pool table. Some accommodation available upstairs. Bit difficult to get to via public transport. Happy and friendly staff 👍👍👍 worth a visit.

A regular haunt for a pre, or post, match feed. The Bat and Ball has a decent menu that has changed over time but has kept some staunch regulars while adding daily specials to keep things interesting. Good for a hearty meal, or a snack, to keep you going. Also, great for a catch up with mates, and watching some sport on their multiple big screens.

Expensive drinks, no working air-con, small and cramped. If you expect to have dinner there before watching something at the SCG, then you better book a table. We did and just as well because it was packed. Food was good for a small pub. Dinning area isn't away from the bar so it was very noisy.

Awesome place! Lovely interior and the staff were fantastic. I will most definitely be going back next time I am in Sydney. The food was excellent and well worth a visit. So nice to see this old pub revived and in a style that makes you feel relaxed and at home. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Good honest pub. But also does 1kg of wings on Mondays for $10. They are delicious, though full wings, which are not my favourite. Still, not a bad feed for the start of the week. Beer selection is rather good.

I really enjoyed my stay, the food was gorgeous and the staff was friendly. It was also amazing for watching sports, I always found myself in a position for screen watching and some places I could see several games at the same time. Only thing I can comment on, was that the choices for a vegetarian or vegan wasn't amazing. As I felt rather restricted to one thing.. Thanks for the stay!

Good spot for a dinner. Beers weren't the cheapest but what you'd expect from Sydney. A great selection of whiskeys and rums on the shelf to purchase including a few more obscure varieties. Can recommend the wedges as top notch.

OMG, this place has Sydney's best casual pub food. It's a winner, hands down. They must have the best fast order chef EVER. Yummy burgers, salads, fried chicken, squid ...The service is also good, super nice staff and quick service. It is however, not a posh, hip or glamorous place. If anything, it's on the dark and dingy looking side. But as the old saying goes: don't judge a book by its cover!

Great spot to catch up with some friends, super close to SCG so gets packed right before and after any game. Always playing whatever sport is on. Make sure you order a few bowls of the wings. They're seriously good. Impressive selection of tap beer too. I recommend the XPA they have on at the minute.

Great atmosphere in this English/Aussie pub, offers a local vibe missing from so many other pubs in Sydney. Awesome whisky selection, relaxed leather chesterfield decore, friendly service and damn good food. Will definitely be going back.

Good food, specials every night, generous portions, good selection of beers and wine. Proximity to Moore Park stadium makes it a fixed stop for before or after any game. Always have sport on rotation on tv, I have noticed service can bottleneck and get slow only if just before or just after a game a large group orders food and booze, that obviously clogs the bar and the kitchen a little. Otherwise the guys are spot on!
