Enjoyed a few drinks with my girl friends last night. The place was really well lit which created a really nice atmosphere and the venue was buzzing with people. It was a little bit difficult to get a table but we eventually got one after 30 minutes or so. The bathrooms were very clean and the staff were wonderful! I would definitely come back here.

Awesome vibe for hanging out with your friends! Service was fast, cool live DJ music, very spacious and cheap drinks!! I didn't even think that I could get vodka sunrise for $6! I had sweet potato chips, it was a bit too salty for me but should be good saltiness for others..

Sunday’s in Sydney feel different at The Beresford. Love there outdoor area. Great decor and fairy lights in the evening. They also do great food and great list of cocktails. Sunday night is crazy busy upstairs so get in early for a great night.

I went to The Beresford for an intimate show and Q&A by James Blunt in the upstairs area which had a bar. I then went downstairs and had a really nice dinner in the beer garden. You need to order your food from the bar and take your number to a table either inside or out. The food was modern and delicious. I tried the semolina gnocchi which was light and fluffy. You must try it. The whole vibe and atmosphere of the place was pretty cool. The toilets are downstairs on the lower level but there is a lift which you can use, making it accessible friendly.

Been to the place a few times now- and the food is consistently great which is fantastic. The prices for both drink and food are sort of dead on average for what you would expect. It has a decent rage of beers (could do with some more) and the staff are very friendly. Only thing is the toilets are almost always in bad condition

Bat for the other team? Sundays at Bero is the place to go! Bring your pooch in the arvo and get ready to mingle in the beer garden. Or wait and hang out with mates for the 6 to 8pm happy hour: includes $6 pints, wine, and basic spirits. Frequently packed, it’s a place to be seen and party first and foremost. Mostly popular with a young crowd and features a multiple level bar with a beer garden. Upstairs is considered a nightclub where you’ll get live music on big nights. It can be quieter during the day and this is when the beer garden is at it’s best. You can get food here with table service, including pizzas and pasta and at quieter times the setting is comfortable. At busier nights in the evening, group dining is also suitable just be prepared for the noise and busyness. The food quality is okay, but I think the venue is trying to do a lot with a restricted amount of space. Some vegan options, a simplified quick menu would probably increase the appeal for me personally. However, as mentioned, the food is not the main reason to go to this popular, trendy establishment. For the young and keen, it’s a great place to make a few memories.

It's a lovely place, friendly staff, super busy at Friday lunch (good sign!) but I personally didn't enjoy the meal, steak was super undercooked. From what I heard, the chicken schnitzel that others I was with got was pretty good though! So I'd say go schnitzel if you come here :)

Very puppy friendly! Went on a busy night with our little poodles (@theoodlebrothers) - they had a really big day at the beach and found a nice place to relax and also get lots of pats and cuddles. Good vibe, service was efficient and friendly. Lovely cocktails. Would recommend ❤

Its a very taste dependent place. If your in the younger crowd you'll find plenty of friends here. Service at all points is long. Prices are ok and food is reasonable. But you really have to love the 'all walks' audience that yhis place attracts. Oh also theres 0 parking. Dont bother trying!

Great place for a drink and meal in Surry Hills, a stones grow away from Crown Street. When the weather is right the courtyard is the place to go but in this COVID day and age you will have to book and specify in your booking that you prefer an outside table. There are a couple of free tables outside on a first come first serve basis but those are mostly smoking area tables and you cannot order food there. The food holds up and the pizzas are wood fire so a good option for one handed eating (other hand being occupied by a drink of course). The food service area tables have me&u dongles meaning you can order through your phone without having to get up

A local favourite. The courtyard area is brilliant, and also dog friendly. Great for casual drinks or to spend an evening. Good food and wine and always a great atmosphere. A must visit is their half price pizza nights, now moved to Thurs. The woodfire pizzas are delicious!

As a venue, it is fantastic. However, when you're upstairs and you can't be served at the bar itself even though there is a counter and a cash register and an EFTPOS machine, it's bordering on ridiculous. They made us order off this app menu thingy you access through a QR code. All I wanted to do was to get a Bourbon and Coke. And I had to go downstairs and then upstairs again.

Pros: Venue is nice Cons: Worst case of bartenders not choosing the next person in line to take their order I’ve ever seen. It really isn’t rocket science. You look around to see who is next and take their order. Instead they walk left and right to take orders from other people who have pushed in on the side.

Easily one of the best gay bars in Australia. Huge open areas filled with cosy spaces creates an excellent balance. There’s alway a cool crowd on show drinking great beers and cocktails. The outdoor area is excellent with good shade and lighting combination, along with plenty of seating. The kitchen serves up excellent pizzas and burgers, making for a great Sunday lunch after a big night. Go here for excellent company and even better ambiance, you won’t be disappointed!

The first time I went to The Beresford on a Saturday afternoon and it was perfect. Liked the garden sitting. The food was good, above average, pizza was amazing. The bartender was very friendly and nice, so was the waitress. Food had to ordered on the bar counter which I found very usual. The night scene is as lit. Great ambiance.

One of my favorite places to have an afternoon beer! The outdoor garden is airy and spacious. The vibe is buzzing with great music playing. However as it gets busy it can get very packed, and there can be a huge line to get upstairs.

The Beresford is a nice place to make a stopover on a night out, but make sure it is your first stop if you are drinking - the bouncers are extremely strict on people who have been drinking. (which is not necessarily a bad thing, in my opinion, but if you have been indulging, don't automatically expect to get in the door). The atmosphere here is dressy and can feel a bit posh in the downstairs area. Friday nights the DJ is decent for dancing but then the live music is generally not great - for dancing anyway. The music by itself isn't bad. Dinner was tasty but a bit pricey.

Had a night in for an ACON event, and the staff were fabulous and accommodating. The canapes were delicious and the drinks were sweet and plentiful all around. It has a nice open atmosphere, as well as a few bench counters to sit and socialise with one another.

Nice music, super friendly bartenders, cool atmosphere... But charge you $27.40 a grey goose martini is way too much. Even at the most expensive bars and restaurants don't charge that much. It seems they don't know how much they are charging, bartenders are pretty young, on the other hand they very fresh and attentive. The regular martini is $18 with a avarege vodka, what is not that bad. Forget about the food, just under the score!

The Bereford is an excellent place to have nice relaxed evenings on a date on their lantern lit patio or with a group of friends enjoying the night over a few drinks. The place serves great wood like home made pasta and the wood fire pizzas being some of the great selections on the list. Have been here for lunch on a weekday and on a Friday night. Very different vibes but both of them were great. Staff was not super experienced but tried their best. Food was unpretentious and good.

Huge venue catering a wide variety of crowds varying on times and days of the week. Courtyard is great for afternoon / evening drinks until the party gets going upstairs. Happy hour 5/6 till 8 for $6 drinks when I've been there.

What's not to love? Great venue and delicious food. The beer garden is the perfect place to chill out during the warmer months. Their modern Italian trattoria turns out some pretty decent dishes including wood-fired pizza, pasta and if you are really hungry, go for the grilled half a free range chicken or 400g Grass fed T-Bone. Grab a few friends and head over on a Sunday afternoon for some drinks and tunes, not a bad way to end the weekend if you ask me.

Bar staff that give you restaurant service. The food was great, we had the Angus rump, calamari and sweet potato fries. The Felix shiraz was surprisingly delicious for the price.

A l lovely bar to go to but can get extremely busy and 2 noisy. It has changed dramatically from the 90s and the new addition of the beer garden makes it a bit upmarket! Drink prices on the stiff side.

This pub is aaaalways a blast, the outdoor area is great (but closes too early), the upstairs dancefloor is great too. But again, everything closes too early! They close the whole bar at 12:30am when everything is hitting peak level. Of course this is the decision of councils and laws, and I’m sure the Beresford would stay open all night if it could - such a damn shame

This is a large bar, which is quite different for this neighbourhood. I'm not normally a fan of these larger bars but this has an awesome beer garden and does $5 dollar drinks during happy hour. The staff in general are actually quite helpful and lovely, especially the bouncers, which is unusual for these big bars. The wine list is good although it's laid out in such stupid sections that it can take a while to order a glass - it appears to be taste order, I think! The cocktails are great, pricey, but well made and I think they're worth the price. I didn't try the food but everything looked and smelled amazing as it went past. There are 2 ATMs in the venue, which is handy as the eftpos went down when I was as there. Just be aware when going to the toilet as they have a communal area and after a few drinks it could be easy to wander into the wrong area!

Large place. The outdoor space makes you feel at home as there are trees. Balcony on the first floor has some quiet seating to chill. Friendly staff. Does not get 5 stars as the Music on the upper floor was pretty useless (pop soup from the nineties).

Very abundant selection of food and beverages. Their pizzas in particular are great. Venue is usually among the more cleaner once’s in the vicinity especially when it comes to the bathrooms and the staff are usually more down to earth and friendly. Love the open outdoor area which makes it an ideal place to chill out or socialise with others. The upstairs nightclub is also great and offers a decently sized dance floor, a more diverse selection of EDM and light shows. This is my go to place especially on Sunday nights when it is at its peak!

Very spacious place to hangout for your night out as there are 2 floors to party. The second floor is really loud and dancy, although there are tables to sit around I've never understood how anyone can carry out a conversation up there. Music is hit and miss. Yet there is usually a queue for the upstairs as the night gets busier. The ground floor is a little more chilled with a backyard and spacious dining/drinking area. It could still be quite noisy here but you can talk over the music. Having tried the food and drinks, I would say the food is pretty delicious and very filling, although the price could be a little steep. My favourite thing about this joint is probably the service. While they could be quite strict with the level of intoxication for entry into the premise, the staff inside are lovely and willing to go the extra miles to help with random requests despite the large crowd. Would have given 3 stars without the excellent service. Recommended if you are out in a big group and want to have a blast dancing away.

I have been to the Beresford Hotel a few times now. Its kind of hidden away at the top of Oxford street. But it has a great outside bar area where you can chill with friends. That said the food there is also really good. It does take a while to come out some nights but once its out and you are digging in, it pretty good. There is also a good inside bar on the first floor on the other side of the hotel. There is also a nightclub upstairs, where they have live bands and warning if there is a good band going to play upstairs gets full and really busy. But that said its really great place to go to on a night out.

Probably one of the best clubs in Sydney for lgbtq community. The dancing hall is spaces enough to hold around 400 people. Wide selection of drinks is also available. However, you should watch for the prices because prices are 15-20% more expensive than other clubs. 1 best feature is that they have got a cloakroom, although you have to pay $3 for the service. The music is more techno and deep house. I also found their DJs more entertaining than other clubs in Oxford Street.

This place has been really nicely renovated (a few years ago now) and has an excellent beer garden. The problem is, on warm weekends, half of Sydney piles in and it's a nightmare trying to find a spot (where you're not surrounded by cigarette smoke) and trying to get back from the bar within 30 minutes of lining up, and without spilling your drinks.

Chill drinks downstairs, party upstairs. If you like dancing, you will enjoy the Beresford. It is the perfect balance between not being so fancy and over priced, but not a trashy backpacker bar, where you can go with a group of friends, have a few drinks downstairs, and then enjoy yourself dancing the night away upstairs. It also has a coat check - so great option in the winter!

Great place! I ate "Grilled chicken breast, shredded cabbage, green shallots, parmesan and romesco" for $19 and it beat my expectations. Portion size is massive and taste - the breast was very moist and not dry - which is often the case for pub food. The Beresford is part of the Merivale group which also owns Ivy and Establishment as well as a bunch of other restaurants so I'm not surprised of the quality of the place and food they serve.

Only one of the best settings, i think for an upmarket joint, the 5 Star dining in Surry Hills has a winner, Saturday, Sunday afternoons/evenings and any lunchtime, you will have plenty of time to take in the beauty of this old Pub Sydney icon, it has a good reputation as a music venue, but the owners have put only the best chefs in this place, best ingredients and the menu has so many mouth-watering selections to keep you coming back for more. Weekends in the evening its choca-bloc full of party people coming for the bands and dj's.
