Comments of The Carrington
V. K.
Had an amazing time! First time here and they allow dogs inside! Great food and service! Can’t go wrong. They also have a doggie menu!
L.
Quaint and accessible pub amidst the leafy streets of Surry Hills. Dog friendly pub with doggy treats. Staff friendly and efficient. Menu is pretty standard pub fare on the smaller portion side but tasty none the less. Come back often.
C. A.
We are not from Surry Hills but saw the Sydney Weekender showcase of this place. We booked online, it was so easy.
We took our Bernese Mountain Dog. He had the steak tartare, it was devoured in 15 seconds. The Sunday roast was sensational, as were the Fish and Chips. The Carrington was an amazing treat. We’ll be back again soon. ❤️🐶
A. S.
The Carrington is an exemplar case of how to run a dog friendly pub. A wonderful venue that is clean and with loads of character. The food is great (sorry we jumped into it and forgot to take a photo), a nice selection of beers and the staff are really friendly. Dogs are welcome inside and out with treats available and a doggy menu too. All of us loved our meals and our pooch loved his Pupcake too. Well done, we will absolutely be back.
Z. M.
Dog friendly pub (even inside if on leash), super casual but with a great bar and menu. Highly recommend! Especially love the toy/stick library... Take a stick/toy or donate!
M. P.
Great spot in the heart but quite part of Surry Hills. Fantastic place to take your dog as they love having them visit and dogs get their own free treats like kidney pies!. Food is great with the usual pub grub with some stand outs being the salt and pepper squid and the arancini balls which were super cheesy. Really lovely sitting outside on the footpath tables and meeting everyone enjoying their day with a meal and of course a glass of vino or a beer or even the harder stuff. very friendly staff and a wonderful spot on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

At the Carrington, you don’t have to choose between a few drinks at the pub or a night with best little pooch friend, because at this pub, both are possible. This dog friendly gastro pub has food for both yourself and your pup.
For human food, there’s plenty of smaller dishes for entrees like salt and pepper squid, which we ordered in addition to salads, steaks, burgers and schnitzels. We love the specials on offer on our day of visit; the delicious pork and fennel meatballs with grilled broccoli and focaccia.
For the doggies, they have $6 meals; beef and veggies or rice with veggies which comes in a bowl for them, even inside the pub. As long as your dog stays on the floor and on their leash, they can stay!
It’s a pub so there’s obviously plenty of beers and wines which you can enjoy indoors or afresco.
Located on Bourke street, a quiet spot away from the busy Crown Street and the atmosphere is pleasant and chilled.
Thoroughly recommend a visit here if you’re wanting your doggie to have an outing
R. W.
I love the Carrington, good food, great staff and most importantly dog friendly inside. This will encourage dog lovers always. Other places in sydney should take note.
S. C.
Another example of unhappy people working in the hospitality industry. If you want the do a good job smile and greet people like you want them in the venue. One person can make your experience very average I hope the owner gets involved
P. C.
It was a quiet Monday lunch but we got some quality steaks for a cheap lunch special price! Totally worth it for a Monday lunch, their chips are pretty nice too. Would definitely come by again! So many places do a kinda disappointing steak, so it was nice to find a nice tasting one!
T. C. T.
Good local pub with the usual pub food classics and then some, as well as choices for vegetarians. There's a decent range of beers, wines and cocktails. Most note worthy is that they're dog friendly and have meals for dogs too
M. Y.
Great dog friendly (not just 'friendly' but 'inviting') pub with tasty food for both humans and doggies alike.
D. H.
Second time at this pub. Got there just before kitchen closed, not a problem they still took our order. Fabulous place to take your puppy and feel comfortable. The food was great and the cocktails well "what can I say" by far the best we have ever had. The guy behind the bar was very limited in stock but still he made 3 mean cocktails. Will definitely go back again.
L. C.
Awesome local pub. Excellent customer service and the perfect spot to bring your dog - rain, hail or shine!
K. O.
A dog friendly pub, with a good choice of drinks. Has a happy hour 5pm to 7pm, where certain beers only $5 a schooner. Very cosy pub.
J. L.
Pub where you can tag your dog along! What more could you asked for? Great food and drinks!
e. m.
The roasted heirloom carrots with tahini and coconut yoghurt was sublime; so much flavour and texture packed into this must-order appetiser (which also happens to be vegan). The Steak Sambo is now a permanent fixture. Succulent rump steak sits atop a fluffy bread roll with sautéed onions and mushrooms with a spiced aioli. The chicken parmigiana is a classic done well, as is the dark chocolate brownie dessert.
I.
Quality place that provides a good atmosphere amongst locals and those visiting.
Bartender staff are amazing and friendly
B. J.
Very tasty and reasonably priced pub food including multiple gluten free options. I had a delicious pork loin chop, (pictured -the lighting was not great!) and the lamb kofta. Quite memorably they were serving food quite late on a Friday evening and were dog friendly. Hot tip... we had a bottle of Lime Kiln point Pinot noir from Tassie and it was the worst wine I ever drank in my life. Overall fabulous night
M. J.
Super dog friendly for an afternoon beer with your friends - human and puppy.
J. S.
A Sunday with lovely well behaved 4 legged angels and good food and drinks. What’s not to love ! They even have doggy treats :)
Lives up to its claim of being Sydney’s best dog friendly pub
M. W.
Welcoming doggo friendly pub in Surry Hills. I can't speak about the pet menu but the food for humans was very good!
J. M.
Food was good and service was fast. Little hard to order as you had to do it at the main bar.
D. C.
Busy local pub standard pup food an drinks food is good schnitzel chrispy and moist. Can be a wait when busy
K. F.
One of the best pubs in Surry Hills! Dog-friendly, they actually have food on the menu for dogs! And they can dine with you at the table (on the ground). As long as your dog is well-behaved. Food is great! So many beer selections too
T. S.
Love this dog friendly pub. Great vibe, good and beers.
K. P.
Quaint little pub, friendly staff and excellent food. Especially at Easter
M. P.
Great old pub charm, great to catch up with friends for a few drinks and a chat
A. A.
Possibly the most dog friendly pub I've been to
M. W.
Very dog friendly, write out a wine list guys, $75 for a bottle of Rose in a pub, seriously?
We will be back, thanks for the response.
A. G.
Casual, super friendly staff, great food, reasonable prices. Hands down the best pub in Surry Hills. They even have dogs!
Y. R. (. R.
Thursday 10$ 🥩 is sooo good! Cosy place! Just loved to have so many visitors - doggies 😍❤️🐕🐩
A. G. C.
It was a loval pub that'sdog friendly and ticked the box for providing one vegan option plus a salad. Great that our dog had a feed. We were expecting a better decor, and we booked two weeks ahead and was seated on high bar stools to eat dinner. Was it terrible no would we go back again, no Very basic noisy atmosphere
P.
Great local hang. Lunch time specials are a winner!! Very lose on enforcing COVID rules and mask wearing around the place. Hopefully it’s not another Tea Gardens. 😢😬
J. D.
Wednesday = $12 burgers and chips night. I had the house burger. This burger tasted like a Whopper Burger from your local HJ's. But the difference was, it wasn't thrown together quicker than a greyhound taking on the 600m at Dapto. It was put together on a flame-grill with love, care and devotion.
Can recommend this place.
P. D.
Nice bar. Missed getting food they stopped at 8pm. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
Winner for me was a good selection of gins!
Would recommend.
m. g.
Just celebrated my birthday at my fave pub, of course the carrington! Really wanted management to give a solid high five to Jarrod. He is hands down the best member of staff you have. He moved us tables when I asked if there was a table outside and was super accommodating. He has such a friendly and positive attitude. I worked in retail/hospo for years and he handles it with complete style. He makes coming to the carrington such a positive experience. Please pass this feedback along. Thanks, Mietta
N. C.
Average pub with some nice menu options and doggy friendly
M. V.
I ordered the plant-based gnocchi for my dinner.... my goodness it was honestly the best gnocchi I've ever had! Honestly could've had 2 plates of it... and the plant-based bolognese tasted legitimate too! Go and do yourself a favour, goes down a treat with a spritz
M. T.
Great little pub, ideal for dogs! Even has it's own dog menu.
Good atmosphere with some tables outside.
Staff are super friendly and accommodating.
N. C.
Great food. Awesome service and super friendly atmosphere
Plus it's pet friendly with a dog menu!
D. M.
Great staff and really yum food. Had best steak sandwich I’ve ever had there. So lovely seeing all the doggies there and their cute dog menu.
D. D.
$12 steak was great, and honestly much better quality than I expected for $12. Relaxed atmosphere and dogs are welcome!
C. G.
Local pub through and through and it’s great to have this type of place in the neighbourhood. Relaxed atmosphere, dogs and all kinds welcome with footy on and best of all the $10 Martini’s during happy hour go down like water 💸💸💸. Easy place to perch and have a drink but more one for the mates than a pub to take a date, and the wait staff have some work to do when it comes to the service speed and drink quality. 🍺
A. L.
Great local dog friendly pub - inside and out! They have a good range of beer and wine, and some good night's in the week, like Pinot and pasta Mondays.
A few cosy spots in the pub are also good for a rainy day.
J. G.
I've recently moved to the area and the Carrington is my closest pub. I'm a smoker and gambler, so usually a pub with no smoking area or pokies would be a turn off, but this venue provides enough goods for my other vices not to matter. Accommodating to my dog, great selection of spirits and cocktails (but a slightly average selection of beers) and top of the line staff make this place a comfortable and friendly place to visit.
The reason it has a 5 star rating from me is the food. Order the lamb rump and you'll agree, it's the best pub meal I've ever had, and I've had a lot.
T. B.
Cute little corner pub in Surry Hills that does a lot!
K. V.
Great pub with excellent quality and priced food, and some unusual and delicious beers and wines. Friendly staff, and a lovely clientele. Excellent 'local' pub atmosphere. Great location in the quieter heart of Surry Hills, and just off the busier Crown Street.
L. K.
Great pub atmosphere! Great menu with lots of options. Any afternoon is good for drinks. It's very dog friendly with rules for their behaviour and great doggy meals to keep them busy. My dog tries to drag me there every day.
K. S.
Awesome pub in Surry hills
It's doggy friendly and the bar folk don't mind a chat so you always feel welcomed.
Food is surprisingly good, and its small so it never gets stupid loud.
Stone and wood on tap
Overpriced, but drinkable wines also available.
Would highly recommend popping in for a relaxing pint
J. L.
Great little pub. Great late happy hour cocktails. Dog friendly = ++
Online table booking is not live - you need to wait for confirmation. Not the best system.
A. D.
One of the only pubs in the area that allows dogs inside. Thank-you! Friendly, casual atmosphere. The food menu is somewhat limited but does include options for canines that is a novelty and good if you're still at the pub around Rover's dinner time.
A. P.
It's so nice to see a dog friendly pub. There were dogs of all shapes and sizes when I visited the other day. There were big dogs and small dogs, some really weird looking dogs too.
I also liked the fact there were canines allowed too.
T. C.
Great menu, the vegetarian burger is delicious. Wine is really expensive at $15 for a tiny glass. Nice atmosphere. Dogs are allowed, so if you don't like dogs in a restaurant, don't come here.
M. F.
An old style Surry Hills pub that offers great food, beer, wine and cocktails. The pub is dog friendly so expect to see four legged friends everywhere. This really adds to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. By far my favourite pub.
P. D.
Never been to this pub but I have been to many others! Live next to it and the folks there are always jolly. Ah well when I go there, I will let you know how it was but it should be good:-) their deals are enticing and the pub is classy! Best of all, its a kind pub as you will see some furry four legged friends wagging their tails around!
S. p.
Friendly staff, dog friendly, good pub fare.
K. G.
We were served by very friendly & helpful staff. The lunches we ordered we thoroughly enjoyed. An added bonus was that we could bring our dog with us & we were pleasantly surprised to be able to buy her a meal also. It was a great way to spend a relaxing couple of hours. We highly recommend this place & we'll definitely be back.
M. C. N.
What a pub should be: cozy, decent selection of beers, reasonably priced delicious food and welcoming staff. Even if you don't live in the neighborhood you feel like a local in this dog friendly venue. I had their veggie burger and it was yummy.
M. G.
Dog friendly pub. Nice pub food and wine
S. C.
Found this place as it's dog friendly, and boy oh boy, what's great place to bring your fur baby...they offer 2 types of meals for your pup at $6/each and my dog eat it like he's never seen food before (he also ate the due friends left after overs, but that's just because he is a pig when it comes to food!). Great way to spend Friday night, great atmosphere and friendly service. Food is tasty although $24/burger? There was also the issue of the occasional roach that passed you by but other than price and a few of the local wildlife, I would recommend and revisit!
J. M.
Great local watering hole with friendly staff and a new renovation. Good choice of the usual pub grub and plenty of beers to choose from etc. Give it a go!!
J. W.
This venue has changed so much over the past 15 years - currently it is an amazing hangout with a welcoming atmosphere for you and your fur baby. The beer selection is a little limited compared to other bars in the vicinity, but the relaxed buzz more than makes up for it
D. K.
Great pub. Friendly staff. Good selection of craft beer. Downside is no mainstream beers or TAB. No doubt others would see this as favourable but I think in a great suburb like Surry hills it’s important to remember where it came from and cater to all- not just the hipster elites even if they do have the biggest wallets there these days.
M. L.
Nice refit and good bar service. However the restaurant was a bit cavernous and as a dog-friendly pub it is very dominated by dog owners. Food was okay but nothing special - I prefer my fish and chips to be more hearty (a side of cod, chunky chips) and with a crisp tartare (not ~aoli).
M. G.
Great pub. Ideal for the post lockdown catch-up with friends.
C. P.
I live locally and it's a such a relaxed pub with a great community vibe. The food is awesome, the staff are great, plus you can bring your four legged furry friends (dogs), which is a HUGE bonus. Big thumbs up.
M.
Bringing your dog down here is awesome and doggy meals are a cool addition. Nice chilled vibe
G. D.
Small dog-friendly pub in the front, several larger tables out the back for sit down meals. Always popular, sometimes very noisy. Usually has multiple TVs showing sport but it's not a sports bar (no or low volume)
A. g.
Only just started going to this pub a couple of weeks ago, since I work during the day and feel bad about eating out at night without my pooch Rocco, this place is the perfect solution. Friendly staff and good meals and specials through out the week, this place can't be beat!! Have been to Bingo with Balls and looking forward to attending some of the other weekly events on offer!
J. V.
Lots of different seating areas and a decent cider on tap makes all the difference (go Sydney Cider)! Food is gon the $$ side and the schnitty was standard, chips okay, salad that came with it all rocket.
1. t.
In a time when you need to book ahead, we got lucky and got a table within 30mins of making the call. That was amazing in itself. Thanks! The food was tasty and fresh, the service friendly and the drinks top notch.
A. B.
Solid-as-hell bar, as long are you are okay with 100% indoors. Food is great pub-stuff with decent weekly deals. The back area is actively dog friendly, which is probably the highlight of the bar.
A. H.
Decor is bit strange after the redo, doesn't have a nice cosy/quirky pub feel any more. Hoping they'll jazz it up a bit!
N. A.
Great little dog friendly pub!! Well worth a visit! You can even grab a meal for your pooch.
K. B.
Beautiful decor , good food, though the salmon plate was a little light on for the price.
C. M.
Nice hotel with friendly service and great atmosphere.
M.
Dog friendly, with great food and service
B. T.
The staff are super friendly, interesting and varied menu and a good selection of beers. Various specials throughout the week with Turbo Trivia a good laugh. Back section allows the puppies!
C. L.
Great local pub, serving up your pub classics. Super dog friendly - your pet is allowed to sit inside with you and they have a selection of doggie meals available.
J. H.
“It’s open” ... and Dog approved by Tilly_is_Devine
A. N.
Dogs are allowed here and mine loved it! The food was great and the interior has changed and is so cosy :)
M. R.
Great pub, with a relaxed vibe and so lovely to have a dog friendly space to hang out!
K. B.
Cosy bar with decent food and wine choices and the loveliest staff in Surry Hills.
The Carrington is tucked away down Bourke Street and is a little gem for a quiet after dinner drink.
Low ceilings and a no-nonsense interior give this place a snug, welcoming vibe.
The pub has a decent wine selection by the glass and a food menu that leans towards “comfort” perfect for if you’ve been caught in one of Sydney’s epic rainstorms.
R. N.
Great dog pub.
Dog food.... staff is awesome.
As always... other dog owners are the spoilers. Keep your dog on a leash.
T. M.
Baby-friendly, dog-friendly, wallet-friendly. Friendly period. One request... many moons ago I experienced the most exquisite lamb cutlets from your specials menu. Pretty please can you revive 🙌🏻
T. M.
Great pub with a friendly atmosphere and excellent food. The maple glazed chicken wings are amazing, as is black angus rump with coffee and pepper corn rub. Will definitely be coming back.
C.
Excellent food, great atmosphere, reasonable price.
S. W.
Decent bar in the burbs, would give a 5 but the description says 'Outdoor Seating', which is technically true but I don't think a couple of metal chairs on the pavement cut it. Would be my local if I lived in Surry Hills, good ale choices and a decent bar food menu.
A. W.
Decent local pub in Surry Hills. Has gone through a few reinventions over the years and maybe lacks in imagination now, but still has a good easy local vibe and will always be a great location for a laid back watering hole. And no pokies, so extra points for that.
E. B.
Food was real good, staff were lovely, and DOGS!
P. S. (.
Great friendly staff. Dog friendly. Awesome food. We went for drag bingo Tuesday and it was heaps of fun! Definitely be back ❤
a. l.
Nice place with decent food and drinks. $12 food specials Monday - Wednesday all day and is also dog friendly. No outdoor seating area. Bar staff are friendly.
N. T.
Great local watering hole recently reopened. Pamagana and burgers are okay. Other dishes need some work. Atmosphere is great and you can bring your pooch.
Staff are all lovely.
N. R.
I recommend the burgers or salads. Delish! Love how it's tucked away like a secluded cubby house 🏡😍💙🌺💜.
🤤The Pear 'n' Parmesan salad with Chicken
B. N.
Sunday, just after we left the house heading to catch up with the gang, we got a surprise soaking when the rains came at us out of nowhere. After we ran in and presumingly started to dry off, the afternoon with friends, chips and beer was regularly punctuated by a furry meet and greet. I cracked up every time an Italian greyhound extended his neck from behind his table, like a cute periscope doing a status update for his followers. The locals love their dogs.
b. p.
Dog friendly! Most beautiful pictures art of puppies and people!
P. L.
Great local in the back streets of Surry Hills. Good drinks range and plenty of food options. Dog friendly.
L. R.
Well priced dog friendly locals pub with good selection of food and cozy atmosphere. Had the chicken parmy which was tasty and reasonably priced.
B. S.
We really love the Carrington. It's a great place to grab the dog and have a wonderful lunch. I usually have a chicken schnitzel because it is so good!
C. L.
Chilled out and puppy friendly...enjoy a session with your furry friend and meet a few others while you're there!
A. G.
Very cosy place with great ambiance. Jugs of beer were only $10 and the food was very satisfying. There is a tapas restaurant attached, but I think the burgers are better. Definitely recommend the Prawn and Chorizo Sandwich or the Chicken Burger.
I had the Bandito roll, which was tasty, but just too much bread.
T. T. (.
First time there. Happy hour was amazing with Stone and Wood on the menu. Doggos kept coming all throughout the night which was so awesome.
L. C.
Lovely place for on a quiet corner, truly dog friendly
I. K.
I've heard SO much about Carrington Hotel how it's such a chilled out place where you go can go for a quick catch up over some cider. When we visited there for a friend's birthday on a friday night, the place was completely flat out. This must have put a strain on the bar tenders as it took us forever to get our drinks and nibbles. Though we were a little tight on space, the atmosphere was cosy. For me, this is one of those places you visit once in a blue moon and not really miss.
J. N.
Great pub in Surry hills for a beer and bite to eat, also love how it’s pet friendly.
N. R.
Great little spot with a very worthwhile $14 steak!
D. F.
Two words: prawn and chorizo. The prawn chorizo sandwich brings pub grub well and truly into the Sydney scene. The Sunday roasts aren't too bad either - think roast pork belly with a braised bacon and chorizo sauce and an assortment of roast vegetables. A heart attack I couldn't wait to have. The burger is great as well and their version of chicken parmigiana - Parmageddon - will make you order another beer (a Kosciusko pale on tap thanks). If you're feeling fancy, head to the attached restaurant for some serious tapas. Both sides of this pub are affordable and enticing. See you there for the Sunday roast!
C. K.
I had been wanting to try the food at The Carrington's restaurant, Bebe y Cena for a very long time and when I finally went their last weekend, I was not dissapointed.
We had the bravas (more like chips), coated in a yummy dusting of paprika with spicy bravas dipping sauce, an enourmous octopus salad with fennel and orange slices (the octopus was perfectly tender), the white anchovies (kind of a meager serving, but tasty) and the jalapeno croquettes, beautifully crisp on the outside and soft as a cloud within.
I loved it.
J. K.
Great dog friendly pub. You can sit in the pub area, outside or in the "restaurant" in the back. They do have locals discounts and great specials
T. G.
The Carro gets 4 stars because its close to my home. It will get 5 when they have at least one normal beer on tap. A Reschs/Carlton/VB or the like would be good for the non craft fans like me :)
S. U.
This is the pub I wish I had in my neighbourhood. Beautiful old building & style but modern food & a great attitude. You can see the locals really love this place
J. D.
Take your dog and enjoy a meal or a drink. Tranny trivia is VERY ENTERTAINING!!! Dog-friendly pub in Surry Hills with menu items for hounds
G. M.
First time and fell in love with the Carrington. Amazing food, lovely place, gorgeous decor. What else?
M. C.
A nice sunday brunch experience.
If you love some Spanish influenced food, get in there pronto!
When we were there they had this amazingly huge toasted sandwich with cheese, chorizo and some other yummy stuff that I absolutely loved...
Top that with a serving of kalimotxo and you too can be happy for a few hours with your friends!
H. F.
A great reincarnation of a corner pub in Surry Hills. The food is exceptional and amazing value: think small share plates: squid stuffed with morcilla, sliders, chorizo, patatas bravas, and lots of churros to finish. Anywhere that serves a cocktail that comes with blue cheese must be worth a visit, and even better they take reservations. Just go.
S. M.
The pub has two sections to it, a front which is very cosy and has TV screens for the TAB. The back is open and inviting suitable for people to dine. There are specials on each day of the week.
J. K.
I love everything about this pub. Great atmosphere, great styling, good lighting (nice and dark), fantastic food. Everything is great!
E. E.
Great pub with good food and friendly service. Bonus is that you can take your dogs into the pub and they even have a dog menu!!
M. C.
Great dog friendly pub that fosters a local
community spirit. Pub trivia is on Tuesday hosted by the fabulous Hannah Conda.
S. M.
Great little bar with a nice function area out back. Friendly staff and good range of beers
S. M.
Beer is expensive and beware because even though they don’t say there’s anchovies on the Caesar salad, there certainly is!
Atmosphere and place itself is quite nice though.
B. M.
Classic dog friendly pub with good food and a decent beer selection.
N. B.
Tuesday trivia is fun. Disappointing that there aren't any vegetarian specials on the dinner menu. It doesn't seem fair that a beef burger is $15 and a vege burger is $20
P. U.
There's something fun about a dog-friendly pub. Don't have any myself, but great to grab a pint in the company of some.
T. M.
Good pub, nice location.
p. f.
Best dog friendly pub in Sydney plus a great friendly good vibe pub and did i mention the food. Classic good hearty tasty pub meals
A. W. (.
THe venue itself is quite nice. Food portions are generous - I had the fish and chips which had large fish portions. The staff not so friendly though which was sad.
M. C.
Excellent spot for good and create pub food. MOst of the dishes are made to share so that is defintietly a bonus when out with friends. The calamari sliders, prawn and chorizo sandwiches are my recommendations
O. Y.
The food was good, salmon was just a little undercooked
J. B.
Have lived in Sydney for 10 years and never seen this place before. Great little pub with great atmosphere. Service fantastic and food ok
A. I.
We are at the Carrington for tapas upstairs for a private company event. The service is great, the tapas and dishes are great, the atmosphere is great. I will definitely be back for drinks and appetisers.
K. G.
Dog friendly, with options on the menu for our 4 legged fur babies, great lunch specials.
D. M.
Recently reopened and has been full with locals since. The food is great and there are beers and cider for all tastes. Nice friendly atmosphere.
S.
Great dog friendly pub!...they even do a doggy menu! Food for people isn't bad either ;)
R. D.
Happy hour $10 cocktail. Yes please
C. L.
Great local pub, serving up your pub classics. Super dog friendly - your pet is allowed to sit inside with you and they have a selection of doggie meals available.
H. M.
Love this place.
Dog friendly.
Perfect Sunday lunch venue.
I. L.
Good place for a drink and to grab a bite. Food is ok (typical of a pub) and daily specials provides quite good value.
P. L.
My dog's favourite pub. Doggy menu, and dogs eat free on Sundays. Win!
S. W.
Decent bar in the burbs, would give a 5 but the description says 'Outdoor Seating', which is technically true but I don't think a couple of metal chairs on the pavement cut it. Would be my local if I lived in Surry Hills, good ale choices and a decent bar food menu.
A. D.
Friendly staff, good pub food and it's dog friendly! Good spot for a beer and a feed before heading to Moore Park.
D. K.
Dog friendly locals bar.

Nice pub. Pleasant to go to but nothing stands out from similar pubs in Surry Hills. I would never say dont go though, nothing to deter in my experience
E. M. H.
Good food and choice of beers. Not sure if I really want dogs at the next table when I am eating though.
L. C.
My only complaint would be how limited the menu is for vegans. Other than that, it's in a Central location and the bar staff are super friendly.
B. L.
Pleasant old style type pub with few craft beers, good hangout with mates

(Translated) I am surprised at the rating of this restaurant.
Having tested it tonight, I am rather disappointed.
Very noisy atmosphere (in the first back room), not to mention the television on that no one was listening to or watching...
Welcome not particularly cheerful (we complain about the French service, but ultimately the grass is not always greener elsewhere).
The Greek salad was fresh and quite successful, even if the quantity of salad far outweighed the few quarters of tomatoes or the pieces of feta.
The wine was not bad (even if here, like in almost all the restaurants or bars where we have eaten in Australia for 3 weeks, the white wine is very cold but the red wine is at room temperature, that is to say hot.. .).
However, what was most disappointing was the "black Angus rump (250g)". Meat ordered rare ("rear") arrived overcooked and above all so not very tender... it is the first "black Angus" that we eat in Australia which is so disappointing... whereas this continent is famous for its meat and that until now this reputation has been widely held 👍
Last detail: the table, when we arrived, was sticky... not very inviting...
